Cleaning out my closet!
ambalam replied to rachel marie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yayyy you! I dont have the guts to purge the closet all at once, but I am getting rid of things here and there. I really should take a page from your book and ditch the baggy stuff, because honestly, it looks awful... Lol. Congratulations on the nsv :-D -

Thanks everyone. Turned out fine. I sat with my oldest son and my brothers so they know and my food portions were a little bit bigger than normal but I had a shake for lunch. One person asked how much I lost and I said it is private and I don't share. I think she was offended. Oh well, too bad. My fat ass is finally smaller than my SIL, who I hate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was my best NSV ever.

These NSV are awesome, I have them regularly too. A girlfriend stayed at my house for 2 nights, in the day time we went to the gym, shopped, just goofed off around town. I had no problem keeping up her. We were in and out of the car a million times, I noticed just the way I bend and slide into the car seat is different. It's my core holding me better. My body use to hurt all the time. Now it just keeps going. Yea Susie 1226......here's to us KEEPING the good life going.

So I have been losing weight, have good restriction, and doing good overall. But I kept wondering where was all this energy that's supposed to come with losing weight. Well I hadn't realized that I have been doing more things. This weekend was a prime example. I went to a pet event with my Yorkie so there was a lot of walking, went to the mall, and started cleanings the house. Today I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in months bc I never felt like doing anything, took my dog to training, then went shopping at Costco. I just realized that my energy level is better bc I have been doing things on the weekends when usually I would stay home or if I went out and did one thing I would come right away exhausted. I have gone to several events around San Antonio that have involved physical activity like walking. It's only gonna get better from all here on end.

I just got back from a couple of weeks of beach camping. I had a cool NSV that I wanted to share. The beach we were on was 3k long. So perfect for a 6km jog in the mornings. I find it easier to run on soft sand in my trainers, rather than bare feet. One morning I got caught by a wave coming in, I tried to dodge it, but got some water in my shoe. This caused some wet sand to gather up in my sock. I could feel it rubbing against my foot, but I didn't think it was a big deal so kept running. I took my shoe off back at camp and I had a massive blister, under the arch of my foot. It got a little infected so I went to the local Dr to get some antibiotics. Pre surgery I had no co morbidities, but my blood pressure had started to creep up. It wasn't at a level that I needed medication, but that was only around the corner. The doctor, who I'd never met before took my blood pressure, while I told him about my blister. My blood pressure was 105/60. The Dr said "Your blood pressure is nice and low, but I'd expect that from someone fit and who exercises regularly". I sat there while the nurse bandaged my foot feeling like I was going to explode with pride. I've had heaps of compliments from people that I know, including staff at my Dr's and my surgeon's office. This was different though. I didn't tell the Dr about my weight loss or surgery. It wasn't even a compliment really. It was just a comment from a Dr I didn't know. It made my day, so I thought I'd share. I hope you're all well, Deano

Great NSVs!! Good for you all! My very quiet, rather morose, 19 y.o. son told me other day that I looked nice and that he could really tell a difference. High praise coming from him.

NSV.....Heels All Night!
Pixie Dust replied to Diamondeyed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how exciting that must have felt! I have some Ferragamo's I bought BC (before children), which I still have saved & wrapped in tissue paper in the box that I hope to get back into someday. My feet are puffy but hopefully with WLS, they'll fit again one day. If not, I'm requesting they go with me in my coffin someday! Enjoy your NSV! -

September Was Your Progress?
Pinky Green replied to jentheyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am down to 181. As soon as I get down to 180 the next goal is 175. In NSV, I've discovered that I can cross my legs again and sit cross-legged and going down the stairs almost doesn't hurt at all. Going up the stairs is getting easy and I've stopped having sudden knee pain for no apparent reason. I walked a quarter mile or so to Longpoint from my condo, took the bus downtown, walked a half block to the train, walked two blocks and back. -
