So I have been losing weight, have good restriction, and doing good overall. But I kept wondering where was all this energy that's supposed to come with losing weight. Well I hadn't realized that I have been doing more things. This weekend was a prime example. I went to a pet event with my Yorkie so there was a lot of walking, went to the mall, and started cleanings the house. Today I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in months bc I never felt like doing anything, took my dog to training, then went shopping at Costco. I just realized that my energy level is better bc I have been doing things on the weekends when usually I would stay home or if I went out and did one thing I would come right away exhausted. I have gone to several events around San Antonio that have involved physical activity like walking. It's only gonna get better from all here on end.

I just got back from a couple of weeks of beach camping. I had a cool NSV that I wanted to share. The beach we were on was 3k long. So perfect for a 6km jog in the mornings. I find it easier to run on soft sand in my trainers, rather than bare feet. One morning I got caught by a wave coming in, I tried to dodge it, but got some water in my shoe. This caused some wet sand to gather up in my sock. I could feel it rubbing against my foot, but I didn't think it was a big deal so kept running. I took my shoe off back at camp and I had a massive blister, under the arch of my foot. It got a little infected so I went to the local Dr to get some antibiotics. Pre surgery I had no co morbidities, but my blood pressure had started to creep up. It wasn't at a level that I needed medication, but that was only around the corner. The doctor, who I'd never met before took my blood pressure, while I told him about my blister. My blood pressure was 105/60. The Dr said "Your blood pressure is nice and low, but I'd expect that from someone fit and who exercises regularly". I sat there while the nurse bandaged my foot feeling like I was going to explode with pride. I've had heaps of compliments from people that I know, including staff at my Dr's and my surgeon's office. This was different though. I didn't tell the Dr about my weight loss or surgery. It wasn't even a compliment really. It was just a comment from a Dr I didn't know. It made my day, so I thought I'd share. I hope you're all well, Deano

Great NSVs!! Good for you all! My very quiet, rather morose, 19 y.o. son told me other day that I looked nice and that he could really tell a difference. High praise coming from him.

I know how exciting that must have felt! I have some Ferragamo's I bought BC (before children), which I still have saved & wrapped in tissue paper in the box that I hope to get back into someday. My feet are puffy but hopefully with WLS, they'll fit again one day. If not, I'm requesting they go with me in my coffin someday! Enjoy your NSV! -

September Was Your Progress?

I am down to 181. As soon as I get down to 180 the next goal is 175. In NSV, I've discovered that I can cross my legs again and sit cross-legged and going down the stairs almost doesn't hurt at all. Going up the stairs is getting easy and I've stopped having sudden knee pain for no apparent reason. I walked a quarter mile or so to Longpoint from my condo, took the bus downtown, walked a half block to the train, walked two blocks and back. -

Stopped losing weight

I run through the following checklist when I don't lose for a few days: - Am I drinking 64+ of water? This is my main culprit. - Am I getting in 60+ of protein? - Am I taking all my vitamins? - Calorie check - I will raise for a few days, then drop a couple days. - Carb check - I will lower to 20-30/day - How much did I exercise? 3-4 days/week - Is it that time of the month? - Am I obsessing too much over the scale? Usually if I take a week break and do the other things noted above, I will lose. - What are my NSVs, I can always find one (ex. I found my neck bone, or dropped a size, or finally did 20 burpees without dying) -
NSV - wedding anniversary in the saddle!
SageTracey posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
29 years ago today I married my best friend. Today we are closer and happier than ever. We have stuck together through thick and thin (fat and skinny:) So how did we choose to Celebrate our anniversary? Well, a 100km bike ride seemed like a great idea as we are starting a four and a half day charity ride over 460km this week! Unfortunately, due to bike problems, we had to finish up at 75km but that is still 74km further than I could have ridden two years ago. BTW - yesterday was my two year bandiversary - down 63kg and living life to the max! -

!3 weeks after being banded and I saw my primary care Dr and she had be do some blood work. I just checked the results and all my numbers are in the normal range. My glucose is down to normal, A1C is down from diabetic to just pre-diabetic a whole point and a half, cholesterol is normal. Having my clothes become loose and had to get a smaller size bra. Even though I'm in a plateau, I'm seeing big results!

Today at work after sitting all morning I just felt the need to stretch. So I closed my office door at lunch and sat on the floor and stretched. And then I got up off the floor WITHOUT using anything to help pull myself up. Didn't grab the edge of my desk or the chair. I just got up. I'm almost down 50 lbs since 12/19 surgery and being able to move and walk more easily is just great. :-) Tara
