I was married for 19 yrs during most of my "fat yrs". My husband died 4 yrs ago unexpectedly. 2 1/2 yrs ago I got the band placed. I started dating when I had lost about 50 lbs (was still about 60 lbs overweight). Had sex for the first time in 3 yrs after losing about 70. When I met my current husband (we've now been married 5 mths) 18 mths ago, I weighed about 25 lbs more than I do now. While I thought about my body, I'm definately not one to have sex in the dark - I like to look at his face ! (Sorry if tmi). And while I do have some dimpled skin on my stomach, losing it slowly sure did help with the skin sagging! If I had an extra $8,000 lying around, I'd probably get a tummy tuck, but the only people who see it is me and my husband who doesn't care. My husband calls me "skinny mini", cuz my legs are stick thin. I think I look like a marshmallow held up by 2 toothpicks. He says to tell you that most men don't care about saggy skin either. If he's interested enough to date you, he's interested enough to sleep with you. Like you said, if he wants you in his life, he probably doesn't care. I'm so glad that real men aren't like the ones depicted on tv as only liking waif type girls. Most women wouldn't have a chance! Good luck! Marci

This is really gross /sorry
Chunky_Dunk replied to meatball1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you male or female? Is this coming from your butt or other area? (sorry if it's personal) I ask because I am a month and 2 days post op and for the past week and a half I have been having this vaginal (TMI) discharge that is brownish pink and thickish. I don't itch, burn, or have any signs of any type of infection, so I'm not sure of what it could be. I don't hurt or cramp or anything. That is why I asked. I want to know if we are experiencing the same thing. LOL! If you are male or it is coming from your hiney, then we probably aren't experiencing the same thing. Would love to know if anyone knows what this could be. I only have one period a year pre op, and true to form I started my period a couple of days before my surgery (and was on it during surgery sadly ...) And this is around the time that I started last month and I do notice that around the time I am supposed to start I just get discharge, but never blood. I am not really bleeding. I thought I was (early start of period), but I only got the brownish blood looking stuff whenever I wiped. Now after a week or so the brownish color stopped, but I am still gettng thick clear discharge. So, I don't know if that was a type of period or what in the world is going on. My body just never wants to cooperate! Any guesses? -
Kind of weird question but didn't want to sound like an idiot during my final consultation.

So I had VSG in November of 2014. On June 1st, I'm having it revised to RNY. Prior to surgery I will start my 2 week liquid diet. My question is....I don't have to do a bowel prep or anything. So if they are working on my intestines, what happens if I'm not cleared out? Since having VSG, I have had issues with constipation and I am a little worried about that. Sorry for the TMI. I appreciate any help! -
Bouncing on a trampoline 5 weeks out?
Justinh125 replied to Justinh125's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I see my surgeon on Monday for my 6-week follow-up anyways, so I'll talk to him about exercising (more than walking) then. Not worth jiggling organs around, though I'll have to do it next time my friends go, it sounds awesome. Plus, the skin around my abdomen is really loose, so I don't know if it would just shake all over the place or what. It used to be firm, but not anymore. (TMI?) -
I'm still pre op until Monday. I'm on a 10 day liquid diet. Yesterday I pretty much gagged and cried while getting my protein shakes down. Today I've thrown both up. Sorry if that's tmi. Broth doesn't make me full and my unflavored protein isn't here yet. I live in a very rural small town. What did you guys do when you were on your pre op diet? Advice would be so appreciated!

Hi all, i am currently 15 days post op and am transitioning into my puréed stage of food. Any tips for puréed stage and being at work? i go back to work on the 25th and i work in Daycare/Childcare so a very attentive job. My surgeon has advised i need to wait 30 minutes to drink water and wait 10 minutes if i’ve had water to eat before hand. As i work this job it’s sort of hard. Any tips on what foods you guys ate im really struggling on this. I made a mushroom soup and puréed it and had a teaspoon of it and (TMI!!) regurgitated as the texture was awful. Please help me 🫶🏼

Men - don't read, it's about my period :)
Kelliebelly replied to lovecats85's topic in The Gals' Room
I had my PS 3 weeks ago. I had my period 2 weeks before it. My periods have always been like clockwork. Well the day after surgery they arrived and I have had them ever since. I stopped for a day a few days ago but the next day they were back. My Dr said it is the body's way of dealing with the trauma of surgery. You will get back on routine once the bleeding stops. If it doesnt stop or gets really heavy and clotty (TMI)...call your Dr because there is some tablets they can give you to stop thebleeding. Just make sure you keep an eye on your iron levels while you are bleeding so much. -
I love love love love my mirena. I recieved it 11'08 after having my second child. I just had surgery 12/14/2010. Immediately after my surgery I experienced (sorry if TMI) one of my heaviest cycles, but getting much better now. I have to have my mirena taken out in 2013, I will definately be returning to the Mirena family.

Dating, after MANY years off the market, and sex
barbie1978 replied to Cota129's topic in Singles Forum
i just had this happen to me a few weeks ago....stayed off the market just for my own reasons...now i'm 2 years post op, moved to a new city (and state) and met someone who i click with SO WELL...and pretty much immediately....so not only did i have to get used to him thinking im HOT (yes, he thinks i'm hot..and he likes my ass...lmao i'm SO not used to that...i was always the 'girl with such a pretty face"), but we fooled around after only a few dates...i remember calling my cousin to ask her how to get over my body issues, but the date happened before i talked to her..and you know what? He didn't seem to mind one single bit. Sorry if this is TMI for anyone...but that night we actually slept all snuggled up....completely naked (omg still can't believe i was comfortable with that)....BODY ISSUES OVER...really quick. Do i still have them? Sure..you're going to for awhile...but i just keep telling myself, if HE doesns't care, why should i? Try not to stress about it too much....i'm WORKING on that now...but really, if when it happens he doesn't seem to be phased by it, you shouldn't either! -
Maybe TMI, but tell me about your experience with constipation! And Help?
Recycled replied to sleevingit1994's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Relax, it's certainly not "TMI". Most of us have been there and others that are lurking are surely dealing with some sort of constipation. If it's not blocked yet, try the stool softeners. If it's past that, your might try Magnesium Citrate. You can get it a Walgreens or any drugstore in a small bottle like a flavored drink. Refrigerate it and try to drink it all down at once. (it' has a little bitter taste, kinda like unsweetened kool-aide) Then drink as much Water as you can afterwards. It will usually start working in a couple hours. It is very gentle and cleans you out completely. More importantly, it works. Quickly. I usually keep a couple of bottles in the Fridge in case things get past the point of no return........I consider it more valuable than gold. -
I would love diarrhea any day ... I have hemorrhoids so it's like trying to pass broken glass. Sorry for tmi but I'm regretting the surgery I wanna cry ... consti is my worst nightmare

I had VSG 4 months ago...prior to surgery I never had regular periods. I lost 42 lbs prior to surgery, and have now lost another 46 lbs, so 88 lbs so far all together. Since surgery I have had regular monthly periods (this is awesome since it has been 10 years or more since it was last regular!), but starting 3 months ago, a week or so before my period, I seem to get horribly sore nipples. Excruciating sore. Heating pad, and hot baths seem to help with the pain. But I was wondering if anyone has experienced this...

sarahp_newme replied to petra1124's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
lol its natural to feel that way, dont be embarrassed. I haven't noticed any changes down there, but Ive had 2 kids so i might not be the best person to give that type of advice haha but before and after surgery i have not noticed any difference and neither has my husband sorry tmi. I think if someone can have kids and it shrink back to "normal" im sure that with weight loss over time it will be ok. -
Pregnancy After Miscarraige
rodriguezequal replied to rodriguezequal's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
So last night around 9-10 I started getting really dizzy (worse when I was laying down). I went to Tacoma General Emergency thinking maybe my blood had gotten too thin or something. They started with my blood pressure (which a few times dropped to 99/60) and they were watching my pulse (120-135) They ran some tests (CBC, HCG levels, Urinalisis). My HCG level cam back at almost 13,000. My urine showed a UTI. They pumped me full of fluids and gave me antibiotics and antinausea meds. They sent me home around 5 am. Around 10 am I got up to pee...I now had a brown discharge (TMI I know...kinda like old period blood) and bad lower back pain. They decided to do an ultrasound and a pelvic exam. So The ultrasound took quite a while and the tech said ok I'll be right back...here watch this, 111. I was like what! lol So she turned the monitor towards me and on it was a looped video of my baby's heartbeat (for the first time) and it was beating at 111 beats per minute! All I could do was smile. I got back to my room and the doctor came in to do the pelvic. He said baby looks good and there is no blood or anything around the baby. So he did the pelvic and took some swabs of the discharge and told me we would know if there was an infection in a few days...he said he didn't think so because there wasn't pain in the area, just the back. So I am home. I am not allowed to do any physical activity or sex...lol. So I am in bed relaxing under a nice fan...drinkin ice water :smile2: It felt so so good to see a heartbeat! Anyways, I just wanted to update you all -

sleevingit1994 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 2 weeks post-op from my VSG, and I was doing AWESOME. Until Monday. I just woke up feeling yucky. I was nauseous, and I was supposed to be started soft foods, so I made myself some eggs and cheese for Breakfast. I could not get them down. It was like they just stuck in my esophagus and wouldn't go anywhere. I thought this was just because they were new or maybe too dry, so I tried a Protein drink for lunch and got a few sips in before it started not wanting to go down either. This worried me, obviously. It would probably be useful to mention that I haven't been able to burp when I needed to since surgery. This was a problem the first week, but once most of the gas was gone, I barely noticed. Since Monday I've barely been able to get anything down. I realized yesterday, though, that I don't think I have used the bathroom (#2) since either Friday or Saturday. Obviously not a good thing. So I took some stool softeners last night, and I've gone a little bit but I still can't really get anything down. I was wondering if anyone else had similar feelings with their constipation (because I know that it is very common) or if the pain that I'm feeling might actually be coming from something else? Just to summarize: Since Monday, anything I try to eat feels like it gets stuck in my esophagus, and it hurts. I'm hoping this is due to the constipation. -
Things to look forward to Post Surgery?
RWHIT43 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ok ok...now that I made my choice and decided to change my weight I have had time to think about some of the things I look forward to after I go through the operation and begin my change in lifestyle. I look forward to learning to eat better, put myself first instead of last, get in better shape, weigh less, laugh more, smile more, buy smaller clothes, look ok tan, be able to swim without a shirt on, and improve my sex life and make it hot! Shallow and silly to some these reasons are, and maybe a little TMI but they are the things that keep me motivated. -
Colonics For Vsg Related Constipation?
sirensiren replied to sirensiren's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Worked in seconds?! Thats what I would love to happen. I don't think there is too much TMI when it comes to surgery that affects your digestive system- it's important for us to talk about it openly to help each other and others! Sleeve Wonderland- my doctor said a similar thing, and seems not to be too worried about the lack of bowel movements. My concern is that I am aware I am constipated and there is stuff that needs to come out, and I just want to make sure I'm not potentially harming myself and my system will know how to make things move when it naturally should. I am going to try the enema, my doctor e-mailed me back and referred to colonics as a "scam" (LOL), I do see a gentle enema being a much financially friendly option, not to mention gentler, in the meantime. -
19 months out and a leak!
I will what I want replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
RJ- I hardly know what to say - 8 weeks with a drain and so many complications. I so wish we were friends irl so I could offer you some love and kindness in person. I was thinking about how unfair this is that you are setting the record for complications and I guess the reality is that you just have to do what you are doing...which is to get through it. You are brave and your lack of bitterness inspires me. 25 years ago I had complications from a routine pelvic exam and afterward could not have sex for about 10 years. It was one of those "this never happens" situations that no one could figure out, much less fix (I know that might be tmi but it truly changed the course of my life....) I bring this up because I totally get being a medical outlier. It's terrifying and isolating. I am sending you love and healing energy. If you ever want or need an encouraging word from someone who went through medical hell of a different sort, please PM me and I'll heap some love on you. K? -Shellie -
So far so good. My worst experience was the cotton mouth and dry lips immediately after surgery. I was only allowed moistened swabs as needed until I passed the swallow test the following day, meaning 26 hours without drinking liquid. I have very little pain and so far the diet is going surprisingly well. I feel so full after every liquid meal. My only issue has been struggling to get that 64 ounces of Water down and 5 days without a BM until today (okay, probably TMI there). I lost 20 pounds during the liver shrinking diet and am down 30 since I first began the process in early April. I will have my first post-surgery weigh-in on Wednesday. No food cravings or hunger at this point, and so far all the foods taste the same except the vanilla Protein powder which suddenly tastes twice as sweet.

3 Days Post Op. Ow. Ow. Ow I'm DYING.
EmeraldCoastPhotog replied to aprildurham23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded yesterday. Today I started to get the gas pains. When I came home from the hospital I laided on a heating pad. Seemed to get rid of some of the gas pains and I actually stated to pass gas rectally (TMI). Good luck. I am very surprised your doctor did not give you stronger pain meds for home. Mine sent me home with a script for liquid lortab and phenergan. You need to call your surgeon before you husband starts throwing up and his band slips. yuck! I feel for you and your pain. I hope you get some help. -

more energy and sorry if TMI, better intimate relations. it just feels different. -
Hi everyone. One month bandiversary. Surgery date 4/8/08 (Hi Carol from Joliet). Had first fill appt. Had barium swallow. (I have the Realize band). Have optimal restriction w/o fill! I have not really been in "bandster hell" like others have been describing. Down 13 pre op, then 10 more. total of 23# gone forever. No longer take IBS meds. Have not had any diverticulitis flare ups and hemmoroids (sp.) TMI.... are quieted down. Life is good. No regrets. Next fill appt. June 5th...hope the "phantom restriction" continues. One mystery tho. went to gyno appt. yesterday a.m. bp was 120/70, GREAT, at "fill" appt. bp was 150/90 WTH??? That's a HUGE discrepancy. Anyway, got to start taking more frequent bps at home. Clothes getting baggy. :frown: Dr. Trace Curry, Cincinnati, OH self pay, surgery 4/8/08

The Girl Next Door has been banded..
Thegirlnextdoor posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everyone, I was banded on November 3rd and I came back from the Hospital last night. The surgery went well, thank God!!! When I first started the program,I weighed 285,the day of surgery,I weighed 261. I have so many questions,I don't know where to start lol. First of all,is it normal to have no appetite ,which I have none. I've been sipping on Water and off and on a Protein shake. I have very little energy. Is this all normal? My other concern is ,all this talk about possibly being constipated but my problem ,is the opposite. I have had runny, watery stools(sorry if this is tmi),is this normal as well? Thank you for any input. Where can I get so little weight trackers that everyone seems to have ?
