I started at a 46G and I am now in a 38DD after losing almost 90 lbs. I have to admit, they do not look good. I am 35 and my nipples point south. Yes, TMI, but losing weight hasn't really helped the way my boobs look naked, though I look a LOT better clothed. For me, breasts have always been the first place I gain, and the first place I lose. They apparently have been through too much over the years and have given up

dairy free protein shake?
Natasha K replied to Natasha K's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I know, I feel like TMI is already a disclaimer for posting on here! What protein did you use with the ff/lactose free milk? Thank you -
That is part of a panniculectomy, removing the apron of skin plus it can be a requirement for insurance to cover. My ins. wanted pics that showed the pannis hanging below the pubic area. And.....not tmi, most people have a pannis after losing a ton of weight

For the LADIES Only Please...
sarahp_newme replied to petra1124's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
lol its natural to feel that way, dont be embarrassed. I haven't noticed any changes down there, but Ive had 2 kids so i might not be the best person to give that type of advice haha but before and after surgery i have not noticed any difference and neither has my husband sorry tmi. I think if someone can have kids and it shrink back to "normal" im sure that with weight loss over time it will be ok. -
Hello all, I am having the Sleeve on Thursday this week and up until now I have been really excited, now not so much. I keep questioning if I should do it on my own. Its just seems really daunting at this point. I started my pre surgical diet yesterday and pretty much spent the last 2 days dying of hunger and in the bathroom (sorry for the TMI). I am sure that is what is causing the freak out. But well here I am. Well thanks for listening. Sent from my SM-N981U using BariatricPal mobile app

Question for all the "post op's"
Bufflehead replied to GingerSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost everything has been easier than expected. My post-surgery recovery, eating and drinking (I was hitting my protein and fluid goals before I left the hospital, and haven't thrown up or experienced nausea since surgery), keeping on plan, having regular bathroom habits (TMI but this is an issue for a lot of people on that high protein, post-WLS diet!). I did take a little longer to get my energy back than I had expected. Also, about four days post-op, I had a tiny meltdown/pity party because I thought I didn't want to be OCD about planning my meals, weighing my food, and tracking everything for the rest of my life. I just wanted to be able to eat what I want, when I want, without having to document it five ways from Sunday and consider how it would help me reach my nutritional goals. That lasted about 10 minutes and I moved on. Seriously, just about everything has been super-easy -- even the rough patches, if that makes sense. It's nothing I can't deal with. -
Death and sadness.
snowkitten replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. That must have been devastating for you. I cant relate to losing a child but im no stranger to loss. Im 28 y/o and already had to deal with more loss and disasters then most people see in their entire life. My father died in a car accident before i was born, my grandmother of a stroke (drank herself to it) when i was 12, my uncle at 13 (heart attack), my other uncle at 14 (hypothermia), at 16 my step father lost all but 3 of his fingers in a work accident and i had to help my mom take care of him, I started taking care of my mom at age 22 when she was in a car accident that left her unable to work and her husband divorced her because he didn't want to take care of her (yep, after she quit her job to take care of him from his accident), At 23 my mom had a heart attack requiring surgery(lived). At 24 my husbands grandfather passed away from brain cancer, and that same week i found out my mom had breast cancer. She had double mastectomy with one side getting infected and opening up (about the size of my fist) and a 6 month recovery. This caused her to be unable to have chemo or radiation. After she healed she started the journey of reconstruction but unfortunately after the expanders were put in she developed MRSA in one side and then a week later the other side (both had to be taken out and she was hospitalized). Then she developed it again in her hand and shoulder (hospitalized again). She went home with IV antibiotics (that i cared for). She progressively got more sick and on my 25th birthday she was hospitalized with a rare condition called steven johnsons syndrome (severe allergic reaction that causes the body to burn from the inside out). She was hospitalized again (sad thing is i cant remember why now) and missed the baby shower for my first(only) child. I had a complicated childbirth (emergency c-section) with a complicated recovery (pre-eclamsia AFTER). When my son was 5mo my mom had another heart attack requiring surgery (a rare reaction from the sjs that caused the original stent to be overgrown with tissue). My Uncle passed away soon after. My mom remained pretty healthy after that but i progressively got sicker. My aunt passed away (drugs and alcohol caused her liver to fail). I lost my job (the department was dissolved) a month after i bought my first home (thankfully got a new job right away). A year long journey led my doctors to discovering I have a severe immune deficiency. I ended up getting sick for about 2 months that was finally diagnosed by my immunologist as pertussis. A week later (Jan) my mom was hospitalized with pneumonia (she came home with oxygen). Unfortunately after that (and many tests) it was discovered her breast cancer had come back and metastasized to her lymph nodes and pleura (lining of lungs). Its stage 4 and terminal. Theres no cure but she started chemo with the thought to prolong her life . She was hospitalized again with pneumonia that required multiple chest tube placements. She resumed her chemo which she did pretty well on with symptom reactions but bad on with others (her potassium and anemia levls kept dropping causing her to be extremely lethargic). last month her WBC droped really low and she got sick. When i checked her O2 and saw it was really low i insisted on bringing her to the ER (she's stubborn and hates going). They said it was good because 6-12 more hours and she would have been septic. They admitted her again but her o2 wouldn't stabilize. I get a call at work the next day and im told there transferring her to ICU and intubating her. She was intubated (and essentially in a coma) for 2 weeks She had strep pneumonia, strep in her urine, influenza, and fungal empyema . On 4th of july they released her to come home and she has been weak ever since. I have been her caring for her but she isn't getting better. She still cant stand from the toilet, cant care for herself, she barely eats, and she keeps getting a cough. She has lost 70lbs since Jan. Yesterday we had the follow up oncologist appointment and he told us because of her condition it wouldn't be wise to re-start chemo. He said that if they did she had an extremely high chance of catching another illness and dieing. Without chemo she has less than 6 months to live (he said with her condition now its more like a few months). so were in a crossroads of what to do. Risk chemo (which she was pretty much like a zombie on most days) and hope she doesn't catch anything (extremely hard with me having an immune deficiency and always getting sick) OR let the cancer kill her. Im struggling with the thought that i will be 28 y/o without any parents. My mom is my best friend and the thought of losing her kills me. I keep thinking about how close she is to my 2 y/o son and how he's going to grow up and not remember her or how significant she was in his life. And she will never know any other children i have. She has taught my son SO much, i just cant imagine her not being there to teach my future children. OMG im so sorry for spilling my life story. I know this is probably more then anyone wanted to know, but as its 4am and im unable to sleep its really helpful to get it all out of my head. Sorry for the TMI but thank you for the place to get it out. -

Scorpion11 replied to danigirl3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Suggestion only but make sure to follow your doctors instructions and contact him/her always for all inquiries, concerns, pain etc. Everyone's body is different and reacts, recovers differently. When start to fill better and you can drink or sip more, try to get your Protein drinks in. Your taste buds are out of control right now but and most protein shake/drinks will taste awful, especially the powder ones. I highly suggest Premier Protein ready to drink. I get mine at costco. I believe it's an 18 pack for about 24.99. Sometimes on sale w/their coupons. They have it in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavor a. Each drink is 16oz, 30mg of protein at I believe calories 160. By far these have been on my daily intake. I also eat the Fage yogurt daily, 8oz 0 fat and 22mg of protein. Once you start to get your protein intake in, in conjunction to making sure you can try to get in all your Water, you will feel better and energized in time. Please ensure to have your surgeon check your labs for Vitamins deficiency. After my surgery on 2nd week out, I thought I was drinking enough protein but was so paranoid about not drinking enough water I was actually over drinking, flushing my protein out tmi but urinating too much. I was finally at stage to take crushed vitamins and he recommended I take extra Iron and suggestion Brad called Vitron-C (take 1 daily but on menses 2x daily) which I can only find online Amazon and WalMart and cheap. I also needed Vitamin D3 and take 10.000mg daily. I get at Walgreen and look for sales of the smaller tablets or small gel when they have sell buy one get one free. For hair loss which is normal and will eventually come but will slow or stop around your 6/7 month out. I take the following Biotin Zinc And the iron helps for hair loss too You must also take your daily multi vitamin and Calcium daily. B12 helps for extra energy. I hope you feel better soon, be assured you're not alone and many of us have gone through many similar symptoms you're experiencing. Always check in with your doctor or his nurse. Inbox me if you'd like more info or can answer more concerns. I'm 2 Yrs out from my wls had and was not able to exercise, lost many inches but have not met my personal and desired goal, however I'm super happy have gone from size 24 to 14/12, not sure what my bmi is but I'm 5'7. Now dealing with new medical issues such as rashes from lose skin and recently went to see dermatologist and being treated for it, need it. Feeling content though. Your in my thoughts and available if you need more info. Keep strong, know you're not alone, and you are going to get past this, take everything day by day. Healthy and positive vibes going your way!! Take good care! PS Peppermint tea is the best tea go have handy for gas, tummy aches and nausea! Also have a magnesium drink available for constipation since its also part of our healing process and so much daily protein intake. I get Walgreen's brand cherry flavor or Phillips brand. But you have many to chose from I drink to cleanse 1 a month or when I haven't had a bowel movement within 3 days. Tip for me when needed is I start to get a pain towards my right side of upper tummy. -
Thanks for the kind words! I slept pretty well last night...on my side as usual, but a pillow pushed up against my stomach to support me...that seemed to work. Still gassy but it seems to be easing up more and more. I think after lying horizontal all night it spread around a bit, so this morning it's coming out the other end...TMI, I know, but that's the facts! LOL. I've decided to just use Tylenol for the discomfort (can't really call it pain) and headache. Sailor Kristy...are you getting so excited?? Can't wait to hear how your surgery goes. Have a great day everyone!

Unexpected Period during strict 2 week liquid diet.
theother_onefoot replied to melissa0218's topic in The Gals' Room
The two week diet actually made my body freak out too where I was just kind of bleeding but enough to require feminine products (sorry, TMI?) and subsequently made this period technically 17 days long. How miserable! So I had surgery when it was still the end of the cycle -- thankfully, and yes, dealing with tampons was a pain. Especially with having to pee so much from the IV fluids. Just hope your body gets this period completely out of the way before surgery! (: -
The wonderous Impacted feces
M!@ replied to sanjumelts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
two words..."squatty potty". I was having the same issue, and no medicine worked for me. But the squatty potty was, hell still is wonderful. And it was a non medicinal way. I had even tried a enema, which when you are compacted is not nice. I know I sound like a commercial but I feel your pain, and my longest bout was greater than 21 days. With my special friend, I don't hardly have to struggle or push at all. Oh and this is not TMI, it is a real issue many of us experience. The is a thread you should check out: You and your post op ass. It is hilarious and true Best of luck and release to you. : > -
Treatment for gatritia and helicobacter b4 surgery?
Alfie replied to nmorenol's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, My surgery is on December 9th. Yes, I have h-pylori which along with it comes the gastritis. I am on 3 different meds that I have to take every 12 hours. The names of the meds are: amoxicillin 500 mg, clarithromycin 500 mg and omeprazole 40 mg which is Prilosec. What are the names of the meds you are taking? I am on day 7 of these meds plus on my pre liquid diet of Optifast and boy am I suffering with horrible diarrhea. Sorry for the TMI. I can't even leave my house. I sent my daug in law out to get me yogurt (which I'm not supposed to have on the pre liquid) but it did slow it down.Thankfully. Did you already start the meds? Hopefully, you won't have the same reaction as me. I usually am very sensitive to antibiotics in that way. -
How Do You Tell Someone That You're Dating That You Have A Lap Band?
Shoshanna replied to bluetigereyes's topic in Singles Forum
Maybe the problem was TMI too soon and not that you have the band? I confess I wouldn't be particularly keen on a discussion of digestion and dietary measures during the first few dates. -
Jack, I truly am sorry that your family was exposed to Hanford, let me say that first. Hanford was basically a dept of defense site. DOD sites do not follow the same rules or any rules for that manner that a power producing nuclear site does. Basically they can do what they want because they say that it is for the greater good, its actually a totally separate operating space. Unfortunately the operating nuclear power plants of today are plagued by DOD sites and the Chernobyl's and TMI's.

what is the best birth control method
jennaleigh1992 replied to Yiraini01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have heavy bleeding! The first time you get your period after insertion it is heavy and last a little longer than normal. But that is normal for the first one! Also you will experience cramping the day that you get it and maybe the day after just because your body is adjusting. My doctor gave me a low dose of pain med. I will say that the little bleeding and cramping is well worth, not taking a pill daily, condoms, pulling out, monthly shots, Patches etc! This might be Tmi but I've had it for about 2 years and my boyfriend and I relied 100% on paragard using no prevention method and I was never a day late! -
hey guys i was done on the 26th as well. for me it has been a rough 5 days. My surgeon called me yesterday to see how i was doing, well needless to say, i broke down and balled like a baby....(so embarrasing) I told him that i have had a low grade fever since monday, headaches, weak, "accidental diarrhea", (not cool, now i am housebound), and very very nauseated. He told me i am feeling most of this as i had a reaction to the anesthetic. Which i told them i would, they had to pump me up with meds when i was coming to. The doc took me off the antibiotics, told me to get atleast 1.4 ltrs of liquids in, and take phenegren suppositories 2xs day for 3-4 days to help stop the nausea. This should help me get my liquids in. I found it hard to even put Water to my mouth. He also said that the diarrhea is normal as i am only taking in liquids. I wish someone would have told me this before, as i had to throw away a new pair of jammies:faint: Sorry if tmi....but i dont recall reading this before my surgery. My poor husband is frustrated. He told me today that if i dont start feeling better soon he wants them to take this thing outta me.....poor guy, he hates to see me so weak and lethargic. I told him that things will change soon once i can get onto full liquids....lord that cant come soon enough huh guys? Anyhow, enough of the rambling.....stay intouch okay.....we can help each other thru this new adventure. Hugs, Debbie

Hello everyone, I finally got to have my surgery this passed Monday. I had a vertical sleeve done. Pre op I went from 255.9 to 239.6 so very excited for that. Sadly that's not the reason I'm writing today. Sorry in advance this may get TMI. So for me it is day 4. I called my nurses because I had only been on water this whole time and just felt awful. They told me to just rest get some protein water and apple juice because even though I was following the liquid diet to the letter my body needs those to function. What I wasn't warned about was the bathroom issues. I literally take a sip and almost instantly to and hour later I'm upstairs with bad bathroom issues. My stomach feels like I have a kicking baby in my abdomin and the gurgle wow. Did anyone else experience this? How long did it last? It sucks. One more thing to worry about. My doctor said it will balance out once we get more food in me starting Tuesday. Help me survive the next few days. Please?

When I came home from the hospital I was so worried about going poop my family said I was rather obsessed. Well I went 5 days after surgery and thought all was well. Well about a month and half out, even though I was getting in all my Protein and Water things stopped. Oh man was I in so much pain. When I called my docs office they said to get Miralax and put some in my drink. So that is what I did and low and behold.......It worked!! Thank God!! I never ever want to go thru that again. I now drink 24oz decaf tea every night with my scoop of Miralax in it and things have smooth going since. My NP told me to go to only using a half serving of Miralax now, but I do one full serving one day and then 1/2 a serving the next day. I am just so afraid of that happening again. Well anyway the reason I am sharing this lovely story is my husband and daughter almost bought me this tshirt for Christmas. I will post a pic down below. I laughed so hard when I saw it. I told the they should have, but I think my daughter was afraid I would wear it outside the house. Thought it might bring a smile to someone's face who is struggling.

TMI but it fits the conversation ;0) My breathe and body odors are the same but my BM's are horrid! Very foul. I don't know if its due to the increase in stomach acid or protein, but they are definitely stinky. Also, I'm more prone to eatery stools than anything else. Yep, TMI....;0)

Question about port and what it looks like on your belly...
Kat817 replied to KMEArnold's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told that no question ask in seriousness is silly!!! I have a low profile port. The two times I have had fills, it was a little harder to find. I am down almost a hundred pounds now, and if you feel for it, it is there, but it is not visible from the outside, nor do I rub against it without trying to. Originally the port was just below and to the left of my biggest scar, which is about an inch and a half....and is just left of center, about 6 inches below my breasts. The port itself has not moved, but the scar is now well below the port itself, as I have lost weight, the skin sagged some, and now the scar and the port are no longer positioned together. I seldom feel my port without doing so intentionally. It may be TMI, but occasionally I feel pressure on it, in certain sexual positions---but a quick shift and all is well, it is not in the way, nor is it unsightly. There used to be a thread of incision pics......look for scar under the search tab, and I bet you could find it!!! Welcome to LBT----good luck on yoru research, this is an awesome site to look around and learn!! Let us know if we can help in any way! Kat -
Hello all. The Sunday before last (feb 26) I was about 1/2 way through my dinner, and suddenly started feeling ill. I ended up running to the toilet, just in time to vomit. A real, honest to goodness vomit. My first in 12.5 months. After throwing up, I felt a little queezy still, but much better. I drank plenty of water, and called my GP in the morning. By that time I was feeling pretty darn good again, so she said to take it slow, back to fluids for a few days anyway.(she works closely with me, and my banding doc, so I can rely on her for good band related advice, she is a gem) So all is well, Tuesday I go on to mushies, and I felt tighter. I thought maybe this had more to do with the fact that I had been on liquids for a few days, and that the sensation was different. That I had forgotten how restricted I really was. Thursday I get back to solids. And yep. I am much tighter. I took it easy, had wheet bix for brekky, some tender chicken salad for lunch, and a thick pumpkin soup for dinner (I finished eating at 6pm, and only had a cup of tea, and 1 ltr of water between then and bedtime at 12) I woke up at 4 am on Friday morning with a burning in my throat. I have had acid reflux before.. But nothing like this. I had a tiny sip of water, more to wet my mouth (I am an open mouth sleeper) and went to the loo. I needed to cough, or so I thought. I PB'd, or vomited, I am not real sure all over the floor. Thick and clear, with brown/black/red streaks in it. I didn't get a real good look because I had not turned the light on. I had no sooner finished cleaning that lot up, when I needed to "cough" again, this time I vomited into the loo. Again, whiteish clear with black/brown/ read streaks. And lots of it. more than what I could hold in my little pouch I am sure. So first thing in the morning, I call my surgeon, and talk to his nurse. She was reluctant to say, or do anything to help me. In the end, after I told her about what I believe to be blood in the vomit, she told me to come in an get some Pariet, and make an appointment for next week. So I have made the appointment (It is tomorrow morning) But in the mean time, it has happened again, although this time without the burning in my throat. I have had nasty, constant shoulder tip pain, and a burning pain when I eat or drink. I think, even if it is not true, I need to hear "it will be ok" I know its not..lol, but humour me. Or if you have some insight into what it really could be, please share. Gee.. I need to get a blog, huh? LMAO

Surgery Thursday--Questions
nkcaump replied to mandi78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mandi - Good luck! Sounds like you and I both have similar weight goals and my surgery is Friday - the day after yours! I also lost about 12 pounds pre-op. It can't hurt right? I think just being healthier over the past month makes me feel better. I haven't had a soda pop since late-August and that's been the biggest deal with me. Anyway, I can't help you on the panties question. I haven't worn panties since my sophomore year in college. Oh... TMI... Sorry... Good luck tomorrow!!! I'm thinking of you!!!!! -
I am so with you! My doctor said it is kind of like a yeast infection. It is a result of my excess skin, and it is basically collapsing around my belly button. It gets no air, or any way to breathe, so it gets infected. And, I know, TMI, but it stinks!!! She told me to document it though, as they may help towards eventually getting a tummy tuck under "medical necessity".

Well I wish whoever I had to thank was in RnR. :heh: I had a spider bite once and sat in the ER throbbing in pain and my leg swelling by the minute...which turned into approximately 300 minutes to be exact...and I am sure the ER doc would not have dug into my leg nearly as far as he had to if I did not have to wait. (I know TMI). And to make matters worse they sent me the "tell us all about your visit" survey. It was none to nice. :help:
