O.K I think I'm so nervous that I am starting to substitute sex for food! I just attempted to molest my hubby again and this just started! I really don't think about food anymore just sex, sex, sex...it actually calms me down when I get antsy. Am I the only one who has experienced this?

Anyone having surgery in May
angelface811 replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ironic that some of the last few posts were on constipation. I was just hospitalized for major impaction. I was in tears and shaking like crazy. So now in addition to the liquid stool softener I have been taking we are adding miralax twice per day, Metamucil, and lactulose. It's very difficult at this stage (puréed) to get much fiber. I am an excellent water drinker and was well hydrated going into the hospital. I was given 3 enemas (joy) and the lower portion of things have been evacuated but the upper portion is making its way down. Some of these things will be temporary and I was told I have a lazy bowel. Stopped my pain meds altogether even with that burning left side pain. I have also been pretty active. But hey! It was my choice to have the surgery and I absolutely don't regret it. This was a possible complication but a minor one. I share this with you just in thought that it might help someone else. My ahem! hurts like never before but it could've been something way worse. We will get through all of this!! Sorry about the TMI... -
Forgive me, but you are hilarious, I love the humor. When I lost 100 pounds 5 years ago by starving (i lost it in about a year) i toned up alot by circuit training at this place called shapes (like a curves, ugh, I used to work there, they so money-hungry). And I had no loose skin at all. (Although I did gain that weight back, and then some, it was cause i did it wrong, duh, I was all about image, doing whatever it took to be accepted, when I was thin, I still wasn't!) Now I'm older, wiser and much happier, working on losing weight for health, to live for my family. (Such a foriegn idea back then). So I think, "skin happens", is a good outlook, I just hope I o not look like the saggy baggy elephant this time around! ( you remember him?!?) After having a baby, I was shocked to see I had a lower belly that stuck out farther than my butt, eek, TMI, I know! And if it kills me enough that I want to pay about $10,000 for a tummy tuck instead of buying a house, or something really awesome for my family...well, forget it, I wouldn't o that anyways.

3 Weeks Post Op, Horrible Constipation
Lilbelly replied to daisychains7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem after a week out of surgery which is been for me now. It was horrible, but as gross as it sounds, if your stool is hard you kind of have to help it out. I know I know TMI, but it worked. Then I took stool softeners & Milk Of Magnesia, been going ever since. If your still having a problem call your dr. -
TMI ALERT! I didn't feel comfortable with my hubby on top because the pressure of his weight would hurt my tummy so we opted for other positions...lol. We waited for about a week post-op.

Surgery tomorrow 4 Feb in Australia. Looking for buddy :)
Soontobesleeved replied to nadia777's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh bummer on the nausea. So far I've skipped that since leaving hospital. I haven't had any gas pains as such but feel bloated at times and pretty 'burpy' at others. I'm honestly finding eating the biggest challenge - so full so quick. And of course I've begin reading the forums and comparing myself to everyone else who seems to be sculling Water and shakes like no ones business. I find I'm better with warmer stuff so once I'm driving I think I might go get some of the tony ferguson Soups for more Protein. Anyway - awkward personal question coming - but have you pooped since surgery? Sorry I know it's possible tmi but I haven't and I know I'm not really eating much but I'm starting to wonder if I should take something? Gonna try some apple purée today to see if that works for some fibre. I laughed when you said you'd already been on the scales! I jokingly asked the Dr what size my stomach was that he removed because I was curious and trying to be a bit funny... I thought I'd wait for a week after surgery so maybe tomorrow ( I think I read somewhere that someone put on weight and I'd be devo'd for that to be me!) -
Ok, Post op and my breasts are sensitive. Anyone have this?

TMI POST...Hello, I had my RNY on Tues 2/25. I'm currently on clear liquid diet only for 10 days. I've been drinking water, propel, crystal light. WELL I have very runny bowels and it's really dark. My Dr office is closed today so I'm just wondering if it's normal to be that dark? Not sure how to know if blood is mixed in and there's a problem. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

2/9 Surgery Date Team
It's Time replied to Positive44's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, I urinate less and it's not as clear as before. It was like Water but now it's resembling urine ???? (I know tmi) LOL I had a BM yesterday and it was scary but so necessary. I haven't taken anything to force one, it came on its on. My doctor did say if we didn't have one for a bit not to be concerned as there is not much to come out at this stage. -
Applesmith, There is something your doc can give you to make it stop, if you really want it too. Unfortunately, heavy periods come along with PCOS. The longer you don't she your lining, the more there is to shed. I used to only get my periods about 1-2 times a year. This means that I would bleed for about 40 days at a time!! I know, TMI, but its true!!!

I was sleeved on 8/10 and so far so good until today. I was abled to drink more so i decided to aim for the 64 oz. Ive been drinking the Isopure Alpine punch for protein, plain room temp water, sf popcicles, diluted juice. Well today i decided to drink the ensure that i got from the hospital (6oz). Im not sure if that gave me diarrhea or just the increase in liquids. Either way i'm terrified of getting dehydrated. Any suggestions?

You mihht have done yourself a favor by not going out to eat. 4 weeks after being banded we hit a favorite Mexican restaurant. I very carefully had 4 small bites of the inside of an quesidilla, and 2 tiny sips of hubbys margarita. I forgot and used the straw. I dont know which part of all that didn't agree with me, but tmi alert............it was a run for the bathroom time, and the rest came up in the parking lot. Alot. Very bad. So, you might have done yourself a good thing because sometimes 4 weeks just isnt enough. My hubby is very happy otherwise with my being banded, it just was a few adjustment s, and then it got better and better ! Good luck to you and your hubby !!

I'm reviving this old thread because I have allergies, asthma, post-nasal drip....you name it! Anyway, I want to know what people do besides warm liquids and water. That hasn't worked for me so far. I tried to have hot tea and it sits in my chest hurting until I spit it up with a bunch of mucous(sorry if TMI). Is someone using a particular nasal spray or medication that helps? I have used Nasarel but it does nothing. Should I try Sudafed strips or what?

February Surgery! Any buddies?
CQ209 replied to lambypie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my surgery yesterday, got out of the hospital earlier today, and I feel pretty good, oddly. Walking around with no problems, hardly using pain killers, passing gas (sorry if that's tmi), handling my liquids. I can't complain about this part, but I'm worried re-introducing food will be trying. We will see. Congrats to you all!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hey Ladies HUGE question...I know this is personal and tmi but I was wondering if its bad having your aunt flow start during surgery? Because my Surgery in a week from Monday, April 15th and that is the day Aunt Flow is suppose to arrive and I'm thinking how embarrassing its going to be if I am.

This post might be a little TMI for some, but I'm on the pre-op diet and I am drinking a ton of crystal light. About a gallon a day, because I can't get myself to drink that much water in a day. I feel like i'm forcing myself to throw up. Since I am only on liquid (liquid in, liquid out) the crystal light is turning my poop the color of the drink. I found this amusing and was wondering if anyone else was having an issue with this? I love crystal light but I'm afraid that it dieing my excriments might mean it's a little excess. Do you think I could have any issues because of the excess die?

Advice from ex smokers?
#9grammy replied to cassandramarie93's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to quit cold turkey 18 years ago! I was using a inhaler every cig I smoked! Yeah not good, now I still use inhalers 2 a day 2 puffs in am then pm. I also went into COPD and I'm on O2 at night and during day when needed. I'm not telling you this to get you to lose the cigarettes, it took me so long probably couple years to get really out of the habit of what to do with my hands! I would get in car light up, phone light up, had to have one sitting on the pot, yeah tmi. Now when I go past the smoke I get sick from the smell. Sometimes my lungs will get choked up from it, yep second hand smoke is horrid now. Good luck on quitting I have a lot of respect for you for your effort to stop. -
This is probably a silly question, but here goes...do you lose pubic fat (FUPA) when you lose weight? If so, does it get saggy? Is it a problem or no? Sorry, genuinely curious about what to look forward to.

I wasn't going to say it, but nothing's really sacred around here anyway. I could really do without the diarrhea. Geeeeezzzz, enough already! Prolly TMI, but I know you're all dying for details, right? I made a bad move by going on a 3 hour boat ride prior to surgery. Seasick, blah, crying on the boat, big baby. But we had 12 hours to waste, so we went on a whale watching cruise. The whales were nothing compared to the "country" of dolphin. My dad lives in Florida and has taken me dolphin watching many times, but I never saw them flying through the air in thousands, literally. Friggen amazing, even though I was quite green. You guys didn't think DeLarla wouldn't find a way to sqeeze in at least some adventure, did you?

Gross Bathroom Question
LisaMergs replied to birdiestofbirds's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! From experience I can tell you that you should be taking pericolace or Miralax. Long before the Opiod Induced Constipation commercials that recently came out, I was a huge sufferer! I'm talking worse than you could possibly imagine. For me at that time it was caused by the pain meds I took for my rheumatoid arthritis. Now that I'm preparing for my RNY my nurse went over the do's and don't -s with me and those two are on the top of her list to use. I believe you need to stay away from a few like Metamucil or some such because they are gelatinous and can plug your stoma. Neither of these will affect your body's ability to go down the road. Believe me- you don't want to deal with the horrid fissures that can occur from chronic constipation. Those do not go away and the best way to describe it is to consider passing razor blades daily. Sorry if it was tmi but really- help yourself now before it is too late! -
I got more, here it goes I am looking forward to walking from the parking lot(at work) to my bench in the lab without feeling like I need to stop by respiratory therapy! I am looking forward to wearing stilettos i am looking forward to my class reunion in 2 years(20th) I am looking forward to wearing a dress(I only wear skirts and blouses cause my top doen't match my bottom) I am looking forward to the Victoria secret angel collection I am looking forward to my boyfriend picking me up when I think of more I will post again. And to some this may seem gross or TMI but it is my reality I want to be able to see my vagina I know it is down there I just haven't seen it since the 12th grade. lol

Great topic! We recycle everything our county takes, compost our produce trimmings, and instead of driving himself 80 miles to work, my husband bikes 15 min to the bus station, takes the bus to the ferry, then walks from the ferry to his job. I drive the kids around in our 45mpg civic hybrid. For cleaning, instead of paper towels or sponges (I'm a microbiologist and I hate sponges!!!) we use cleaning cloths that we can wash. Same for mops - cloth covers on a flat surface mop. I got both from The Clean Team. - Efficient Housecleaning and Environmentally Friendly Cleaners, but some types of fabric rags would work well, I imagine. After using cloth diapers on my children, at the risk of TMI, I switched to cloth menstrual pads. They're much more comfortable than the paper ones. We're building a house and using as many energy saving techniques and technologies as we can afford. We wanted to use a geothermal heat pump, but they're too expensive at this point, so we're using an air source heat pump instead. The house has many passive solar features. All the lighting will be CFL or LED. The flooring will be sustainably harvested bamboo and cork. The fridge, washer, and dishwasher will be energy star certified, and we'll have an energy-saving induction cooktop. There's a root cellar for passive cooling so we can store more of the veggies we hope to grow in a year or two. Another thing we've done that has been really worthwhile for our family is joining a CSA - community supported agriculture - a share farm. We pay for a share of produce from a small local farm, giving the farmer the surety of a paid crop and giving us lots of organic produce and eggs for half the year. We buy natural meat and some fish from local people plus we're lucky that my parents have a small non-commercial oyster farm and also catch dungeoness crab and are willing to share. We belong to a food co-op to reduce the overhead on other grocery items. We found freecycle.org before we moved from MD to WA and it was fun meeting people who could use the things we found to be surplus for our new lives. We enjoy finding new ways to save energy, reduce/reuse/recycle, and buy locally, and we're always looking for new ideas, so I'm avidly reading this thread!
