Hi sorry if this is tmi but this is my second period since I got sleeved and I am feeling super nauseous. I even threw up yesterday. Is this normal? Called my doctor and waiting to hear back. I do know my period is super heavy this time as well. Anyone else experience this?

This is probably too much information, but since rny gastric bypass in April, I only have a bowl movement once a week. I know this is pretty normal, that is not really my concern. My concern is recently I had a bowel movement, when I got up to flush I noticed there were some solid pieces of food in my bowel movement. I just recently introduced solid food to my diet. I ate broccoli and that was what was solid. I do chew my food well so I am concerned that there was solid food. Any thoughts? Should I be concerned that a solid peice of broccoli was able to go through my stoma?

Massive stomach ache. Warning TMI
TooneyNinosMom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate having to post this but I need some help. I am 4 weeks post op and having some issues. Since yesterday I have felt absolutely awful. I've had diarrhea, a massive stomach ache and everything I put in my stomach hurts. Even when I bend down it hurts. I have no fever, no chills and my heart rate is normal. Have any of you gone through this? -
Tomorrow is my surgery....
MamaTo3inNH replied to danihere's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wore hospital gowns the whole time, so only brought a few pairs of undies, a travel body wash and shampoo, toothbrush/paste, comb, Chapstick, phone & charger & extension cord, laptop, hand lotion and fuzzy socks and slippers for walks. I used it all except the laptop - the pain meds made me too loopy to care - I just let the little TV on I wish I brought some oil for inside my nostrils (like a dab of olive oil or Vitamin e or coconut oil) it was dreadfully dry in there. And maybe my neti pot to flush out my nose. BEWARE - nobody warned me, but the oxygen mask dries you out a LOT. (Tmi/gross) I had the nastiest phlegm, mucus and crusted boogers in my nose and throat. Don't be scared - ask your nurse if you cough/hawk anything gross up. I was beyond mortified what came up when I coughed. I wish I had known ahead of time! My one piece of advice - the day after surgery take a hot shower. Even if you don't bring any soaps or shampoos, use the hospital's or just take a shower to get wet - you will feel like a new person!! Good luck! -
Help! Don't know what to do :(
Princess_Gottalose posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Everyone! I had my second fill a few weeks ago and it was to tight so I had a slight unfill... Once I got the unfill I was doing great! Since Friday it seems my band has a mind of its own!!! I am having trouble keeping solids down... But not all the time... sometimes i can keep it some times i cant.. fluids go down perfectly (so i dont think it is a slip) but i just dont know if when i first pb'd if i should have went on liquids for a while... also (i know TMI) it seems i have had a lot more gas/constipation lately. Does anyone know if that can affect your band tightness? any help would be great... thanks! -
I'm going to make myself accountable here.

Eating: I will keep a food journal. It will be simple. I will just list what I ate/drank for the day. I won’t add up calories, fat, carbs or whatever – I just want you to see what I’m eating, and for me to own up to anything I shouldn’t eat. I personally don’t have the time to add up all that stuff anyway. I will list the time of day of my last snack or meal. I want to ensure I’m not eating past 7 PM my time. Moods: I will write down how I felt for the day. Or if I had any ups or downs. I think this will help you and I figure out why I keep slipping backwards. We’ll see about that. Exercise: I will keep a log of what exercises I did for the day. I would like to do a little something at least twice per day for six days a week. Daily Weigh In: I weigh myself every day, once a day. I do this when I first wake up, in my nightshirt and undies after the morning potty time. TMI? Sorry, I just want to give you an idea that my weigh in are as true as can be. Our weight can fluctuate even during the day. I will also post any weigh-ins at the Dr. office visits or otherwise. These will be the four main factors in my posts every single day until I get right – and perhaps even beyond. All I know is that something has to change. That something has got be me. Simply put. I don’t care, whatever is on your mind you tell me. However, I’m not really looking for the canned responses I hear over and over. Like, the band is only a tool… yadda3. KWIM? I’m looking for advice, a nice jolt of reality, whatever… It’s on. -
Almost 5 months out, still borderline dehydrated
Seela replied to Seela's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Update... so I have been really pushing the water HARD this week, which is making it much harder to eat, but I'm getting in 9 glasses (72oz) approximately plus a protein drink. And instead of only going pee one in the am and once at night I have added one more in the afternoon. .. I know tmi... so, I guess the trick is to find balance. Fyi I started using a straw months ago and that dramatically increase my intake and I actually have less burping and gas using a straw. Thanks for your help everyone! -
I woke from my Sleeve anesthesia 5days ago with blood in my nose and thick blood running down my throat. I was nauseated and in pain...but eventually by evening that wore of some. But, swallowing (aside from the usual first swallows post Sleeve), was beyond excruciating! I then I looked back there in the mirror to see my throat it looked like something from a horror scene. And it hurts like crazy too! So aggravated, I've never seen my throat look like that. Beyond even a Strep Throat swallow. My surgeon even took a picture of it to show to the Anesthesiologist, who I know has over 30 years experience so what's the deal? Needless to say, the liquid Hydrocodone has been nightmarish to take, just burns like crazy. And whats more, I have a constant feeling like something is stuck in there when I swallow. Like a piece of throat is flailing in there (sorry, I know TMI), but I really wanted to know if anyone experienced this, and how it was resolved. It is interfering with my Fluid intake, which is already a challenge. My surgeon said it will probably resolve, but gave me some ENT numbers just in case. Was wondering if anyone experienced same and how you dealt with it. Your responses will be so appreciated at this unsettling time :/

I have to wait until aug. 15 to see my doctor. I'm worried. Like you, I would love to make it to 150. I could easily guzzel 32oz of water or eat a large pizza and I don't think it would come back up.( Sorry if that's TMI ) but I just don't have the restriction. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to go around throwing up all the time but dang! ????

favorite NSV's/most anticipated NSV's
graylola replied to SerendipityHappens's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My favorite thing, above people saying I look better or seeing the numbers, is all the NSV you appreciate when you are so big that the little things become unbearably awkward. Car seatbelts fitting (especially where the cars yell at you when it’s not buckled). Flying without feeling mortified or getting a 2nd seat (haven’t done this yet, I was still nervous about my flight in November so I still got an extra seat – we’ll see how it goes). Not feeling like a beached whale when trying to roll out of bed. I won't get too TMI, but anyone who was at the point I was might understand when I talk about just general bathroom and bathing issues. Not constantly fearing that I’ll break every chair you sit in. I mean, really, Seating could be an entire NSV for me all on its own. Chairs, cars, airplanes, toilets, the booth/table issue, etc. Still looking forward to: Not shopping from online or Catherine’s. I’m just now getting to the point where Lane Bryant will fit me. Roller coaster rides. Taking up running. I was getting to the point where my mobility was severely impaired. I felt like I was dying walking from my office to my car, and I would leave later or earlier than my coworkers just to avoid them seeing how bad it was (though they knew). The freedom that comes from being able to want to do something or somewhere and actually doing it is the greatest thing in the world. I say “yes” to so many more activities now because I don’t have to worry about not being able to walk the distances required or fit in the seats that are there. -

Different Approach With Great Results
Aussiegirl replied to janerose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good post Janerose. I am 36 and approached the surgery in a similar way. It was a way to change my life, I followed my post op "diet', ie food stages. However I never went into this with the standard approach. I allow myself to have treats if I want them, which about my body almost never craves anymore, except for the day before and first day of the time of month (TMI sorry), when it is a free for all on the junk food. But I usually find that when i give in an eat things, especially sweet things (my pre-op kryptonite) I usually regret it and feel ill. My craves things that is good for it, it wants veggies, it wants lean Protein sources. I also put exercise in my regime as soon as permitted and have been working out 2 times a day 5 days a week pretty consistently too. It was always a lifestyle change not just another way to loose weight. Working really well for me now....108 pounds gone since Sept. Good luck with your journey -
Ok, so I did it! 8 days out and I know this is wayyyyy TMI but several positions felt just fine! I say if you feel like can do it - do it - cuz I know I feel alot better tonight!

Gone For Good Club - September 2006
the best me replied to HeatherGurl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Paula...176.6 this morning. I'm fairly certain this is a new low. Here's the deal-io though. Unexplained restriction. (warning...TMI to follow) Over 2 weeks ago, the day I started my period, I woke up with more restriction. Normal, right? Yup, for me, but it usually goes away by day 4 or 5 after I start. It hasn't gone away. Not that I'm complaining..but it's odd. I'm really having to be more careful with the size of my bites and the extra careful chewing. And still, I get the first-bite-syndrome thing going. I have PBd once in the last 2 weeks. I have been drinking my aloe vera juice at bedtime, too. But the restriction is still there. I quit eating because it's too much trouble, and have been resorting to junk on occasion. Cheetoes (Susan4794 and Stitchy! btw, cheetoes get dipped in the ice cream here...LOL j/k) and still, I'm seeing some results. I'm not complaining about restriction, or resulting weight loss...promise! but the restriction is unexplained and then I go down the "am I eroded?" road...ugh. It's hard not to do that...get paranoid about band problems. Anyhow, I'm happy with my new low and hope I can see 175 in the next week. Now for the Cheetoes! Let's get rid of those suckas!! Actually, what I did was bought a bag and as soon as I got home, I emptied the bag into snack bags for lunch boxes. Problem solved. Right? Let's hope, or SOMEone in our house isn't getting cheetoes for lunch anymore! LOL -
Gross, But I need to POOP
bandcamp1210 replied to Want To Be Thin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Going to get a little TMI here, but if you haven't gone in a while the part closest to your exit spot may have dried up a little a isn't going anywhere till you use a suppository or fleet enema. I went almost a week without going, had to use the enema and then pooped for two days. I now use Miralax every few days. -
so far the only discomfort I have is the nausea (knock on wood) and the heprin shots are no fun. they brought me chicken broth, diluted apple juice, jello and a Popsicle for dinner. broth good, apple juice ok and jello and grape Popsicle were horrible - immediate nausea, close to barfing. Just brushed teeth and that has me a little queasy. Still have the catheter. I think they want to measure how much. sorry if tmi!

Anyone get sleeved in May?
lisamstevens replied to skinnyme13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Justaprettyface, If you get a chance, read my "TMI MY FIRST BM", I just posted it. Beside my BM issue, which you can now be aware of and avoid for yourself, I'm doing really great!! I had a 2 day hospital stay and then was released to come home. The first 2 days home were a bit painful but manageable I never even needed my pain meds and I have a very low tolerance of pain. Things you may need to heal you feel better, get an abdominal binder (hospital provided one to me before I left). This helps keep things where they need to be, takes of the pressure when you get up and down. Do what you can to drink all your water. The sip, sip thing for me was not allowing me to get my water in for the day so I tried a small swallow then a normal swallow which was just fine for me. I drink just like normal now. WALK! At first I didn't want to move but I know in my heart I have healed 10 times fast because I walked. Go outside and walk down your street, get some fresh air. I live 2 blocks from the beach and having the sun on my face, the ocean crashing was just such a treat. You will get through this, use your support team. Call the nurse if you need to, I did the first day home. My tongue was white and I ended up with thrush, cause by Anesthesia-totally normal. Sorry for the long post! You will do great, this is all worth it. I was down 18 pounds from my last visit pre-op to today! Everyday I'm stronger, happier, and so proud of my decision to make my health a priority. I would rather have this surgery on my terms than open heart surgery or something like that. I'll be praying for you and a speedy recovery!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Thank you so much for posting your experience. It really helps everyone who is not on the sleeved team yet. I really appreciate every detail. Even the "TMI" parts because nobody is exempt in any of those areas. Keep up the great work and good luck on your journey!

Dr. Aceves, Mexicali, and Me!
Oakleygirl replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Truly a first-class hospital with exceptional doctors and staff... can't say enough good things about Dr. Aceves and his wonderfully personable and knowledgeable rapport. And man... did you notice how many male nurses there were?! Yay me! I left with mostly pain on my left side where drain was and am now post-op day 6... feeling good, but still using 1 or 2 pain meds a day so I can be mobiile. I was really weepy leaving Mexicali... think it was just the whirlwind of how fast it all happened and sad to say goodbye... very sweet Ernesto gave me a hug at the airport as i was the only one leaving that day... like a dad! So now my next big hurdle is to POOP!!! Oh yeah... TMI! Everything else is healing up nicely... getting up to my Fluid goals (59 oz today and 74 g protein)! Battling the hunger demons b/c I AM hungry... 350 calories a day, even with a tiny stomach, is NOT enough to survive on! Can't wait to get past the liquids stage, but am following dr instructions to the letter b/c I cannot afford to have complications if I can help it! Wouldn't it be nice to have a Dr. Aceves reunion sometime with all the 2013 sleevers he's done? That place was smokin' busy... I was done on Monday Jul 6 with 3 others (the MOST he ever does in a day) and every day, two new people arrived! Just so grateful to have had a great experience with a dr who truly cares! -
Hi, I waited a day or two to post that I reached onederland. Very excited but a little sceptical because my weight has been fluctuating the entire time. I eat right, I exercise, drink lots, get in my protien. Not many issues, maybe except for constipation (sorry if TMI). I post I am 198, so excited, and that officailly means I claim it and believe it. I know I can not gain it back. I worked harder, exercised more and ate less yesterday than I have since I have been sleeved. I also drank a ton yesterday. What happens, I wake up this morning 199.6 , yikes. Do any of you lose two, then gain one, the entire time. I never never just go down, down. I am either stuck or gain one of my two pound loss back. It is so aggravating! I have no reason to complain and actaully satisfied when I look at the big picture (my ticker). I never could of lost what I had without my WONDERFUL sleeve!

First and second stool *TMI* but please help
johnsons13 replied to trinjen's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For the first 5-7 days after I got home I had diarrhea which isn't like me. I had to get my husband to give me a suppository in the hospital. Today, my bm is hard and looks like dirt. TMI, but when I wipe it looks like I've wiped the ground. I bought some smooth move tea before surgery and I'm going to have to drink some soon. It helped. -
First and second stool *TMI* but please help
trinjen posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Early evening yesterday I had my first bowel movement it was a tan/white color. Late evening I coughed and swore I ripped something on the inside but surgeon said as long as the outside is fine I am fine. This morning I pooped again but this time it was the darkest green almost black... Is this normal? 5 days post op. -
While soaping up in the shower, I was scrubbing under my boobs (sorry tmi) and on my right side I felt a large lump, that was about the size of my port, which is on the left below ribs. I was thinking oh my gosh, what the heck and then it dawned on me, it was my rib. Bahahahaha I never felt it before. I love my band!
