I went shopping today for a skirt. Bought 3. I got to the register and one of the price tags were missing. The cashier said she had to get another one and showed me. She said not to worry cause it was a regular not a plus size. Cause as she pointed out to me plus sizes cost more(duh). She was explaining it to me like i wouldn't know and never bought plus size. Amazing Wendy

Start 274 This morning 212. Slow, but I'll take it! NSV: noticed an overweight woman a tad bigger than me Pre-Op at a "how-to festival" today. She was standing in front of me during the sushi demo (yum!) and I noticed her shifting her weight from her left to right foot about every 2 minutes....took me about 5 minutes to realize: I don't have to do that anymore at least as often lol. Or so early on in a day. I don't miss that!!

Last year I worked really hard all year to get to an average 15 MPH for an hour, and never got there, I would hit 14.8, 14.9, but never 15. I just got back from a 32 mile ride (2 hours) with and average speed of 15.3 http://connect.garmin.com/activity/311087459

This morning I decided to organize my closet and bring some summer things out. I realized, as I was going through my winter stuff, that I will NEVER wear those 26/28 winter clothes again! My surgery is scheduled for 6/25!!! I began to pull my winter stuff out and bag it up. I had some second thoughts.. maybe I will need it.....then I decided to let myself believe it could really happen this time. My entire winter wardrobe (minus one outfit for comparison later) is in big garbage bags ready for donation. YIPPEEEEEEE!!!

Hurray for NSV! With my walking exercise I made it up to 3 miles on my fast-pace walk! And it felt fantastic!! I am three weeks post-op and due to surgery complications, I had a 7-day hospital stay, and I still have a large hematoma on my left side! So three miles may not seem like much of a victory, but for me it's excellent!

Awesome great NSVs!!!!! Keep up the great work!!! -
I was just wondering if there are any emotional NSVs that anyone is looking forward to. I am looking forward to not feeling ashamed when I run into someone I haven't seen in a long time or meeting new people. I'm also looking forward to feeling comfortable just sitting on a bench. Anyone else have an emotional NSV they've experienced or hope to experience?

Just curious if anyone does weight watchers post op?
Ms skinniness replied to Bos123's topic in Food and Nutrition
Actually when I had stalls I would get frustrated and fearful that my weight loss was done but it wasn't. During the time of the stalls is when my body was rapidly decreasing in inches..... I would put on a pair of nice slacks in the morning and by the afternoon, they would be too big. That was a great NSV. You will lose your weight and have more stalls. Instead of looking at the stall as a bad thing, why not look at it as a good thing. Like the decrease in inches. If you haven't already taken measurements, this is a good time to take the measurements to see the changes in body size. CONGRATS... -
Well, I'm 6 wks out today and 31# down. 3 to share. 1. My son and I went hiking last weekend. I made it 3 miles on a difficult trail. A quarter of the way through at the top of a hill, my son stopped me and said " remember this spot? Its where you were out of breath and your ankles hurt so bad, I saw tears in your eyes. Now your keeping up with me." We finished at a very brisk pace this time. 2. He said he was proud of me 3. A patient asked why I'd had an MRI. As I was encouraging him through his PET scan. I told him I'd had a ministroke at age 37 due to being overweight and high BP. He looked me up and down and was surprised because he thought I looked "healthy".. I still have 65# to lose, but its a start.

Non scale victory at Disney World!
gigglypug replied to Disney Nut's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Disney Nut, that is fantastic, what a huge NSV. We're a big Disney family, too, but in California...my daughter actually works at one of the parks. I don't go as often as I did when the kids were younger, but I did go last week...and boy, were my feet, ankles and knees KILLING me after the day was done (i'm still pre-op). Can't WAIT to be in your shoes, YAY for you :-) -

Life changing beyond my wildest dreams...

That is such an awesome NSV! Perhaps my wife will have your success also as she has dealt with ankylosing spondylitis most of her life. She currently is on remicade injections every 6 weeks, but has done prednisone and embrel in the past. She is going to have VSG in a couple months and would it not be amazing if she had your success. -
I just got back from a week in Disney World. For the past few years, I've had to rent a scooter to be able to get around the parks. It was a real lifesaver, but a hassle...getting it on the buses, etc. But now I'm 50 pounds lighter because of my lap band surgery. And this trip...I WALKED ALL AROUND DISNEY! Sorry for the "yelling", but I am just so darn excited. It was such a great feeling to be healthy enough to walk. In fact, my son told me to "slow down" at one point. I did rent a scooter on one day. It was rainy, and my left ankle (which I smashed a few years ago) felt painful. But the rental was not because I was too heavy to walk, so I'm okay with that. And even with the bad ankle I was able to park the scooter and walk around the countries and the pavilions at Epcot, instead of having to stay in my chair. This has to be one of my favorite NSVs!

I dont know how many other people do this but whenever I come home I change into sweatpants/pjs. I have not been able to wear jeans for more than a few hrs comfortably in a long time! Well, on monday, I was home cleaning the kitchen and looked down and noticed that I never took my jeans off after taking ym daughter to school! I was comfy and kept them on all day as like a trophy. Maybe tmi right now: to top it of I am on my period this week, so normally nothing fits! It just felt awesome!

Love all the NSV everyone! A few of mine: not spilling over onto the person next to me on the airplane, lost a chin (still have a gobbler neck though), can wear high heels all day, down to a 14w was a 20 prior to surgery.

I was a size 22 the day of my surgery 11/01/12. Last night my very petite 11yrs old daughter ran up to me and gave me a hug. She realized her arms could wrap around me. I'm now between a size 16 and 14. It was a very endearing moment and a very pleasurable NSV. I love my LapBand and everyday there is a new reward. -
i'm not addicted. Today i am HUNGRY!!! No matter what I stuff down my throat, it doesnt make me LESS hungry. Now granted, this is coming off of a "sugar" high since I overindulged over the weekend on kettle corn, donuts, etc (Local community fair/event!) Seriously!!! Protein in, lots of it, and it's not helping! Yep, you say, "you did that to yourself!" And yep, I did, but BOY, am I ravenously hungry. Have done well and refrained from junk today NSV to me!
