  1. Welcome. My name is Deb and I have not had my surgery yet, but hopefully in the next 6 weeks or so it will happen. Yippee. I agree this site is pretty informational. I've learned so much and everyone is very caring. Please keep us updated on your progress because that keeps everybody motivated.

  2. hey so good to hear from you again,, yes i got my sleeve so changed my user name to sleevegenie,,, i am almost 3 weeks post op,,, surgery was really easy,, the first few days are the hardes but i hardly remember it now,,, i love my sleeve,,, sorry you are having problems but so happy that you have a date,,,, you're gonna love your new sleeve,,, i hope everything goes great for you,,, keep in touch jeani

  3. Not yet! I have my first consultation with my surgeon today that i scheduled 5 weeks ago. Then we begin insurance approval. I'm hoping for a date this summer! Let's keep in touch!

  4. wow.. your amazing.. Listen for the past week . my weight loss has stop it goes up a lb, then down a lb. its crazy because AI always watche what I eat and walk and doo aerobics and swim atleast once a week, I sometime burn more calories than I eat. I only eat 800- 1200 cal per day. I think I get all my protein. what can I do to get me moving again. its only been 8 weeks now..but I am so tired of still being FAT!!!! i know its a mental thing but I want this stuff gone.

  5. Hey Missy Carolyn,

Thanks for the nice comments. I look baggie, too, and not happy about that, but comes with the territory of major fast weight loss. I've also had a piriformis muscle issue on the left glute that's bugging the sh*t out of me, painful. Doc says due to the weight loss. I'll go back to Mexico to get rid of all the hanging skin - Dr. Bell0 - already got the quote. Just waiting for my DH's job situation to settle before I set a date. I don't get in nearly the protein I should be; my calorie count is still very low, though, and I have 8 pounds to goal. I drink my protein drinks maybe 2X a week.

  6. Sorry to hear your having a bit of a rough time!!! Keep sipping and walking! You are going to do great! I feel 10x better since getting my drain out! I'm still trying to get enough fluids in. My Dr. let's you advance to full liquids(creme soups, cream of wheat, etc) the 2nd week, but I'm going to take that slow because this is still "big loss" time and I don't want to rush into food yet! Once I can get all my fluids (64+ oz h20) then I'll advance. I'm pretty close to that. I also want to find a site online to keep track of everything. Have you picked a site?

  7. Yeah! So glad you got it approved! I just got sleeved on the 18th of May! One week today! You'll do awesome! Thanks for adding a picture I like to place a face with a name! Do you have any pre-op diet to follow from your Dr.?

  8. So your surgery got moved up a week? Lucky you. I am so excited I can't wait for the 28th of June.

  9. Best of luck to you Maddie, who is your doctor? Are you on the pre-diet yet? That was tough but I made it through. The first day after surgery is rough too but it keeps on getting better. I feel so much better. This is really great! Although I have to be honest, a few days after I had a couple of bad crying spells...to be expected. They call it Buyers Remorse! Again, I got through it and it has been great these past couple of weeks, especially getting started on real food!

  10. Hey.. haven't seen you post in a while. Last I heard your stall had just broken. Hows the weight loss coming? Are you still loosing? I've been in a stall for 10 days and am about to pull my hair out!!!!

  11. Hi Carla,

Things went well with my PCP. He says that he will refer me to a surgeon and he thinks that i am a good candidate. I am going to have a sleep study done within the next few weeks. That same week I called the BRS center and was awaiting a call back. Today I got a callback and found I that I do not have the mordbid obeasity services in my benefits. :( A total bummer! I am in a loss for words. I want to go thru with the referral but I am unsure how far I am going to get... I really don't have the money to pay out of pocket but I can't forget about having my surgery either. IDK?

  12. It sounds like you are doing pretty well on pre-op. I battled the whole "being perfect" thing as well - I was on it for 3 weeks. I completely cracked mid diet and cheated because I felt like I was losing my mind, then I really had to say to myself.."Just do the best you can and that will have to be good enough." You'll be just fine:) When my Dr. asked me how much I followed it, I told him about 80% of the time and I was proud of my accomplishment. You can do it Happy Destiny!!!! Good luck this week:)

  13. Hey girlie....I was wondering how you were doing post-op?? I saw where you posted that you were only off work for a week...how did that go? I am a nail tech at a salon and was thinking about taking about the same amount of time off.....

  14. I was just wondering how you were doing and if you have had to start a pre-op diet yet? Mine is a week of clear liquids and protein drinks. I started today and so far so good!

  15. I was very happy with the care I received. I have had no issues at all, quit taking pains meds at 3 days post op; never had much pain except my chest for the first 24 hours after surgery; no leaks, infections; my local primary doc took out my stitches and said it all looked great. I have been very happy with my sleeve but was nervous as heck the last few days before surgery. I also went down a couple of weeks ago with TiffanyIsMajor. I truly did not see anything on either visit that would keep me from going there again or sending a friend there. Have you seen my thread: Mexico or Bust? I have a long review there. If you can find it, let me know. You can also ask me any questions in a private message if you like.

  16. Thank you. So far, so good. Yesterday was really rough. I ended up talking to my husband last night & confessing my little eating spree. He was very sweet and supportive. Just can't let this stall (or future ones) get to me like it did yesterday.

    I really appreciate your support!

  17. I'm getting things down so much better! I am waiting on soft fish and cheese next week don't want to chew but just am tired of the same ole food (liquids).

  18. I am going to send this in 2 message since it will only allow 1000 words..

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply but i haven't been on in awhile. I log on when i need modivation and right now i am in another stall so i just logged on for the first in a while.

I loved Dr. Nicholson and his staff. I had my surgery at Forest Park medical center because i was a cash patiant. It's a brand new and a very nice hospital. If your having any complication and need to go to the hospital after surgery you never have to wait there like you would at any other ER rooms (you can even go there if you didnt have your surgery there; they also know Dr. Nicholson very well there). I have only had to return because i was having bad shooting pains in my main incision...and it came out only to be a pulled muscle in my main incision. So listen to the doc and don't over do it or lift anything over 10 pounds.

  19. Hi Happy Destiny and thanks for the message! I don't 100% understand this site yet so I hope I am posting this in the right place for you to see it. May 18th - so exciting!! My consultation is not until May 12th, so I will be at least a few weeks past you in having surgery but hopefully we can be a support to one another!! (I posted this on mine too, I don't know which place I'm supposed to post it lol)

  20. Hi Shutterbug I know its just seems to being going so fast the days and actually the weight is going pretty good to. Glad to hear you are doing good. I've been doing pretty good had a stall for a couple weeks but I think its moving now. I still can't eat very much and still have probolems with keeping it down some days but other than that no to bad. good luck and keep up the good work.

  21. That was taken Feb 07 right before I got married. I was about 226 and not super thin ;) lol but thinner than I am now after having another baby in April 08. Thanks for the compliment. My surgery is in 2 weeks.

  22. The stall is over. It must have been the carbs. I am cutting back a lot on the carbs, and home this does the trick.

  23. How did it go with the surgeon, i am appealing denial d/t considered investigational, its been a week, they have 30 days to respond, my surgeon is no help he wants todo the bypass, they make more money i think but i'm concerned about my body, wishing you all the best, let us know how you are doing, thanks for sharing Jeani

  24. Wow, you look great!! I have hit a stall too...and it sux!! I guess it comes with the territory, and all we can do is hope it will end soon! Glad to hear everything else is going great. I feel so much better about myself already!! So glad I made this choice! It was good to hear from you! Take care!

  25. How have you been? I've been good here! I think i'm on a stall with weight loss, grrr a little disapointing especially when you know your not eating, and i'm working out five day's a week! Ha whatever!!! I'm a total down 32 pounds...

I feel real good!!! Well hope you are doing awesome!
