Renewed... you definately need a date night before surgery... something reminicent of the 4-wheeler perhaps!!! LOL. Its nice to read all the activity last night and today... we're all alive and active again! DH is working overtime today, so its just me and the kids. Have to share this one... As I've mentioned, my son is developmental, so its hard to explain or reason with him at times and he can get very emotional. He is completely adicted to video games, which we use to help reinforce good behaviour. Today he woke up in a horrible mood and it continued thorugh grocery shopping and when we got home. He usually gets to play games for a little while on Sat before lunch, so when I told him no, he had to be happier and be nice to his sister, he went into his room to sulk. I eventually went in and we talked it through and I let him go downstairs to play. I went down a few minutes later to see how he was and mentioned to him that his games were getting way too messy (all over the floor) and that we'd have to take some time this week to clean up. I hadn't expected him to clean it up, it was just an observation. About 30 min later he came upstairs and told me he needed me to come see something. He usually does that when he's stuck on a game and needs me to read the instructions to get him through. So I went downstairs to help... and what a surprise... he had completely cleaned up his game area. All the games were put away, all the toys were organized and it was perfectly straight. He had a sheepish, proud look on his face. I was so proud, I almost cried. Its not that he can't do this... he has just never taken on the responsibility and the initative to do it without me pushing him. Ok, I know TMI, but I'm just so proud of him I had to share.

Since my last fill in July I have never felt hunger pangs. I eat by the clock now. I dont think I am too tight because I don't PB, I don't every really get food stuck, I could probably take a few large gulps of water before it started backing up on me lol.. I know TMI but I looked at all this too so I could make sure that I was at the right restriction. The veggies I only eat because I worry about nutrition. Maybe I will weed out some of the veggies and then replace with trail mix or more nuts. a meal for me would be about 3 or 4 oz of meat per sitting and then a few veggies just to make myself feel better about nutritional needs. I have a space in the evening where I could add in another snack or something. Normally I have a glass of wine (Chardonnay or Merlot) so I don't eat since I am having liquids. I am doing away with the wine for a week as a test so I could fill this space with a snack. or I might have to fill it with a protein shake Blah.

Wow I missed alot the last few days. I have been so busy the last few days... I didn't even bother to log in cause I would get side tracked. That's funny L2L I just got my hair cut last week... I think I am growing a 3rd eyebrow and need to go in to get waxed too! I never seem to find the right time to do it. When I get waxed I am red for hours so I have to plan ahead lol. Sorry TMI lol

CONGRATZ! ON THE 75LB. Okay, how many calories are you eating? Give me a sample of what you eat in a day. I need help! By the way, I got a flu shot yesterday. Then I came home and ate a lean cuisine..two bites into it and yuk! pb'd. It lasted for an hour. I am so sore. I think some of it is the flu shot. I don't know when I am going to learn to chew , chew , chew. You would think that I would have learned my lesson last week. I have never been one to throw up unless I am deathly ill, but yesterday I was praying that food would come up. It is so painful. Okay, TMI. -
Back at work - one question. Is this for real? How am I going to make it through the day. Sitting in an office chair is so uncomfortable! (I know complain complain). Also feel so swollen that I am going to bust open. TMI part. Also - drain complaining again - woke up this morning with my remaining drain totally clogged up to a point where the lack of suction made it open and I was COVEREd in grossness and my sheets. After I unclogged I drained 25 ccs within 10 minutes. How GROSS is that. Can you tell I am feeling crappy like I want to go home?

Lost control!!! :(

Ohhh my....this may be tmi, but this morning, my stomach has been cramping like crazy and I've been on the pot 4 times already. I have to believe that after 25 days of not having anything remotely close to potato chips, my body is revolting! Maybe it's a coincidence, but I have a feeling I'll be good and stay away from the chips! -
DS and I went out for chinese tonight. I am really trying to do well on low carb so I ate meat only. No rice at all, and not much meat. I have been throwing up ever since. Chinese food is usually not hard for me to get down, and I haven't had great restriction lately. I am wondering if my long runs the last 2 days have caused my band to be a little tighter. I am a little worried about throwing it up though. Not real throw up. It is still undigested, but my body is "wretching" to get it out. I so don't want any band complications this close to ps, or ever for that matter. No more chinese for me. I hope this goes away soon. It is much better right now. Nothing has come up in about 10 minutes, but I still feel like it's right there.. Ok, Iknow, TMI, but who else do I tell all this to.

I had to stop taking my birth control pills a week before surgery (doctor's orders) so of course I was expecting to start anytime. I wasen't bleeding or anything when I went into surgery however, but when i woke up the nurse had stuck a rag between my legs because apparently I started while I was on the table. (Embaressing!) After a few hours it stoped thou... odd. -Oh, and sorry for the TMI ! :wink2:

Ok, This may be TMI, but what to do, what to do??? TOM should come visit me about 2 days after my surgery. YUCK!! How do I deal with this with the compression garment and all. My compression garment will be crotchless. Can I wear panties over it with a pad without making a mess. I can wear tampons if I need to. They make me cramp a little worse, but I can deal, but will I be able to mange that on my own. DH is a saint and will be home to help me, but tampons?? I don't want to ask him to put my tampon in. Oh dear, what a dilema. -
Nah, don't feel silly! It's all good here. 1) - Probably you'll be naked (the issue is that they don't want even the slight chance of static electricity from the panties in an environment of flammable gasses). The gowns are spacious and offer personal privacy. Don't worry about possibly having your period...the OR nurses deal with this ALL the time. No big deal. 2) - Nope. If anything, the post-op diet combined with the pain meds left me a little constipated. TMI? No such a thing!!

Maybe it's hormonal? Are there any banded men with the same problem? Today it took me 45min to get down oatmeal, but lunch was just fine (two or three small oxtails with two very small chopped up potatoes and three chopped pieces of carrots), dinner-1 small chicken wing and it's hard to swallow my own spit! I am ovulating (I know TMI) and I'm full as hell...what gives!!!!!

Spread Sheet for Tracking April Avengers 08

Gina, What is leading you to question if you need an unfill? There is a very fine line between being just right and big trouble. I just went thru that. With my band at 7.5cc I was throwing up after eating about 3 times a week (TMI.. Sorry). Removing just .5cc completely eliminated that and put me back on course. -
hi there, Congrats on the LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE... i love my band!! i had a little of that too when i first was banded and due to the soft foods and stuff found i had a lot more gas, and trapped gas below the band.. i found INFACOL (baby wind drops) helped for both ends *tmi* i know... but yeah i found it really useful... goodluck... hope this helps.. xx

I am ten days post op and still have some discomfort in my shoulder. It actually comes and goes now. I have less discomfort after walking. The gas-x strips really didn't help me. I kept taking them, but I noticed after walking maybe 5 to 10 minutes, I would start releasing the gas (TMI I know). That would bring immediate relief. I hope you feel better soon.

Adult question...you have been warned :D

Okay so I was banded like 3 weeks or so ago...and my port doesn't really bother me until...I have sex with my husband. Has anyone else experienced this discomfort/pain? Will it ever go away? Thanks in advance and I'm sorry for TMI...lol Take care everyone. -
Well I am not currently on the pill (I know, tmi). If I got raped and became pregnant, there is zero way I'm carrying that child to term. Women will continue to have abortions no matter what. I would prefer that they be performed safely. Whatever - I'm finished with this argument.

Hi. I had surgery on 09/25 and my surgeon did say that we would notice a difference in our BM since we are not taking in as much. He just said to make sure that I keep getting my fluids in. He also recommended Miralax IF constipation seemed to be a problem. He said that our BM should basically follow our amount of intake. Not much going in, not much is going to come back out (sorry if that is TMI).
-
Are you getting in plenty of Water? I noticed things have changed for me but I think it is from such low intake. BM's are not as frequent and the volume is very small, like a small child (sorry if TMI). It might be just find if it resolves itself over a day or two and you are not having symptoms.

Hi Trina, and welcome to the forum! First off, don't be too anxious about the surgery, it's really not that bad. I know some people have a lot of issues with gas pain up to a week after surgery, including left shoulder pain, so be prepared for that. I, unfortunately, was not a surgery "virgin", but I knew that I always throw-up (sorry for the TMI) at least once after anesthesia, so I asked for extra meds. Because I get motion sick, I got a motion sickness patch behind my ear, and an extra shot after surgery to ward off getting ill. If you tend to get motion sickness, let your doctor know (I was told to tell the anesthesiologist, <-- thank goodness for spell check, the morning of surgery). The IV doesn't hurt, and at most a little sting as the nurse is inserting it. Read all you can to prepare, and ask questions, because someone here will have an answer.

Banded and very very sore...
Sistergrl25 replied to Sistergrl25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I too have the gas problem and was able to return to work in 4 days. I find that walking reeeallllly helps with that along with my gas-x strips. The more and faster I walk the more gas I release. Sorry if this is TMI... -

Mac glad you're doing well and losing weight! Plain is always on rampages isn't he? lol Here's something he can have a rampage about. This thread made me giggle "Floater" Enigma (TMI Warning) -
I hope everyone faired well today. I did not have to be at the hospital until 10:45 and the surgery was delayed a bit. I did not get to my room until after 6pm. I did the 11 day pre-op diet and lost 13 lbs in that timeframe. As of the time of this posting (12:43 am) I have been up twice walking, pee'd twice (tmi i know) and just waiting for a big giant gas bubble. I do see the 'pain' that people talk about in their left shoulder. I have it myself but isnt too bad if I walk. ttyl

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
PrtyAntOvrYt replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Mdargen! NOT TMI! We've all been there and NOT done that! Unfortunately, I purchased every OTC softener available to man and woman! AND not one worked. AT one time, I was putting miralax in prune juice three times a day. Nothing! It was bad! Then I sent Natalie an email and she said to try a piece of fruit. I did and it worked! An apple, pear, grapes, anything like that works for me! So now, I try to eat a piece of ripe fruit everyday... sometimes, if I'm hungry twice a day. I also upped my fiber! I eat high fiber crackers and bread (toasted). Good luck but know it's normal. You're not eating much! -

I am so happy to be here! The nausea has finally gone away. Yay! I do have another question for you. This might me TMI so let me know. My surgery was the 24th and I haven't had a poop. Nothing. I don't even feel like I need to but I kind of have a dull pain on my lower left side. Have any of you felt this before? Is it constipation? Sorry for such a gross question!!
