VSG on 4/16/18: My journey
TexasMommy80 replied to TexasMommy80's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am now 2.5 months out and a stomach bug hit our family. My daughter had it first, and it lasted a full four days. I thought I would make it out without getting sick, but nope. Ya’ll, it was terrible. It was a full four days of not being able to eat or drink anything, nonstop vomiting or heaving, and watery diarrhea that was even worse (TMI). I honestly think it was the most sick I have ever been, considering how long it lasted. I started getting really weak and dizzy on Sunday so I had my mom take me to the ER while my boyfriend watched the kids. I was super dehydrated, which was no surprise. The doctor said that I was lucky that I did not pass out at home. My blood pressure was down to 109/60 and my heart rate when standing was 125. My normal blood pressure is usually a bit lower than 120/80, and my heart rate is usually in the 70s when standing. Anyhow, two bags of fluids later, and after my blood pressure went up a bit, they released me to go home. I feel better today but I am still somewhat nauseous and unable to eat or drink much. I luckily managed to get about 400 calories in today and about 40oz of water, but my stomach just can’t handle much right now. I think I will be pretty close to normal by tomorrow, so my goal tomorrow is to just drink all day. Anyhow, I weighed in this morning at 198, but won’t take an official weight until I have been better for a few days. -
June 25th Sleevers? I need a buddy...

I don't have the same full feeling like pre op anymore (kinda miss it, messed up huh?). Anyway, I did serve myself an extra ounce of cottage cheese. Thinking that its simply ridiculous that I can't get this protein in. Well, I ate maybe .5 ounce before the not-so-full feeling turned to just nausea.... Ugh. Never again, you'd think right? Nope, I accidentally did it this morning. I chose not to measure and just eat till I felt full, but since I didn't know when to stop I went straight to nauseous again. It seems I learn like Homer Simpson! Edit: I should add that the other day I went to a restaurant with the family & since I couldn't order anything else I had the wonton soup without the wontons. Gave away 2 small servings (my kids) and proceeded to sip the entire meal. I didn't want to have nothing to do so I kept sipping. When it was time to go I stood up and I could feel all that liquid sloshing inside or something. It was the first uncomfortably full feeling I've had. About 30 minutes of waking later I felt better. Full relief came after a bathroom break (TMI sorry). -
Time To Check Out My Hospital's Er!

I can have ice chips and sips of water, but they're giving me 48hrs off antibiotics to attempt to get rid of this yeast infection. I'm actually on bed rest because of it and I get a high dose of Ativan just to calm me enough to pee. I'm having an allergic reaction to diflucan. I'm more miserable now than I was when I first came in. Leak can't be seen now but the other stuff is keeping me here awhile. TMI but, no bm for 3 weeks, can't pee without sobbing its so raw "down." My Dilaudid isn't even touching my pain. -
well i am not sure what it is but i know that sometimes (after anti-biotics) i got nasty yeast infections.(sorry TMI). i know at surgery, they were giving shots like crazy for stuff like that. i agree with TK, get to dr as soon as you can to be safe

Sorry to hear you are having issues with constipation. i too had it pretty bad and remember those days well. I ended up using an enema for relief. The secret to the enema is to (TMI) try and wait to use the bathroom for a few minutes after you have finished the enema. Miralax did nothing for me and since I can't swallow pills the stool softeners were out. I just made sure to use benefiber every day. You will soon learn how much fiber you need to take in to stay regular and once you start to add more fruit and veggies in your diet it will get much better. Hope this helps.

I wear all sorts of shapewear but my very favorite item is my Rago firm shapewear girdle. It's a waist cincher. It's probably way TMI but as I close those hook and eye closures my nasty tummy skin just folds up and hides away. It accentuates my natural hourglass shape and literally pulls in inches of skin. I have it in nude and it's virtually undetectable under clothing (I can't wear something knit that is skin tight without a cami over the top, though). It goes from just under my bra all the way to the top of my hips. Best of all? It was less than forty dollars. I love their vintage inspired lingerie and shapewear and this is now my favorite brand to shop. I also wear the camisoles, waist cinchers and corsettes by Flexees. I do not like Spanx for anything but pantyhose. My personal experience is that they cost more but don't work as effectively and they just aren't as comfortable. I can't wear any of the thigh shapers because my thigh skin is so soft that no matter how long the shorts are I have an obvious bump. I do LOVE the maidenform footless tights I just got - they suck in my thighs a lot and feel great under dress pants. I'm always looking for a bra with a nice band that won't make lumpy back fat - and I've found that the Incredible bra by Victoria's secret works quite well. It's not a control top bra but the wider band moves with you and doesn't make lumpy spots under your clothes. ~Cheri

Very saggy lady bits and only half way there!
karen_marie replied to B.Annie's topic in The Gals' Room
@FluffyChix one of my friends got her tummy tuck the day before I got my RNY done (she had her RNY 3yrs ago). The first thing she was showing me and her other close girlfriends was how good her lady bits looked now LOL she was like 'look how pretty my bits are now! no more FUPA!' (TMI but FUPA (pronounced FOO-pah) stands for fat upper pubic area) -
Do I have to say TMI in a ladies forum? If so...TMI! Just a little venting. I've lost 95 pounds so far which is 51% toward my goal so I still have a ways to go before plastics would be recommended/wanted. I was expecting saggy skin and wasnt too concerned about it right away because I knew it was just part of this life. What I wasn't expecting was having SO much extra skin on and around my genitals! Theres at least 3 inches of excess skin on EACH side of EACH interior and exterior folds. That's 12 inches of extra skin around my vagina! Then there is literally a full hand-full of extra skin in the front pubic region. My bum around this area is saggy as well which is creating so much more of a droopy look/feel. Ive already experience a UTI, which I feel is from all of this extra skin and folds. I shower daily, drink at least 72oz of water, and wear airy dresses just because thats my style, but it also keep things from getting too warm/moist so getting a UTI should be rare. I almost feel like there should be some sort of underwear created to keep this region pulled in yet allow a natural amount of air flow. "V-Spanx"!!! What in the world can I do for the next 95 pounds until I feel surgery is warranted? Anyone else have ideas that might work??

Tattoos & Piercings
shrinkingDEE replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have no tattoos. But I have 9 piercings. After surgery I managed to put all my jewelry back on except my VCH. Almost two weeks out and I haven't been able to bend over enough to try to put it in (sorry if it's TMI). I guess once I'm healed I'll try and if no luck I'll have to get it re-done. Boo hoo! -

Are women getting banded more than men?
DeLarla replied to California Dan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
TMI... TMI.... TMI.... (the "you know what part.") -
Last night we had a Christmas party, of course there was drinking involved. I regret having to many but what I figured out is you can't throw up. I even tried making myself and (tmi) but just liquid ran out not even dry heave or anything. I don't feel like I messed my band up but is that normal to not be able to throw up? What if you get the flu or something gets stuck? PLEASE NO NASTY COMMENTS. I know I shouldn't be drinking like that. Lesson learned LapBand ~ November 1, 2016

First and second stool *TMI* but please help
johnsons13 replied to trinjen's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For the first 5-7 days after I got home I had diarrhea which isn't like me. I had to get my husband to give me a suppository in the hospital. Today, my bm is hard and looks like dirt. TMI, but when I wipe it looks like I've wiped the ground. I bought some smooth move tea before surgery and I'm going to have to drink some soon. It helped. -

This morning I pooped again but this time it was the darkest green almost black... Is this normal? 5 days post op. -
Surgery today with Dr. Illan in Tijuana Mexico
BubblesCT replied to BubblesCT's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thanks for asking. I'm doing great. The care has been wonderful and I love my recovery room. Everything is new, clean and cozy. This may be TMI but my monthly came and one of the volunteers went out to buy me some feminine products. Honestly, this treatment is comparable to VIP treatment in the states. I'm on my third meal of homemade chicken broth, coconut water, juice, and jello. Very small amounts but boy does it taste refreshing. Tomorrow I believe I get to go out enjoy some sites! I'm here alone yet I don't feel lonely one bit. Onward and upward... -
So, Monday was my 30th wedding anniversary. I'm proud of living and loving through thirty years, and I have a pretty wonderful husband and marriage and two wonderful adult daughters. However, this anniversary really pissed me off and I have to rant a bit. Feedback welcome even though this is a venting sorta rant. I knew he had no idea for a gift when he asked what the 'traditional' gifts were for that marker - so over lunch one day we looked them up; pearls or diamond. Fine - but I don't expect either of those really. Then I suggested since our anniversary falls during my busy work time, that we plan to take a little three day trip somewhere when we can both get away, and he liked that idea--in that way that says 'sure - if you'll plan it I'll go. Okay...fine. Our anniversary rolls around a week later and I haven't heard form him all morning about any plans, so I ask where we might go for dinner to Celebrate, not especially feeling like cooking too on top of super busy week. He really didn't have any suggestions, except to agree when I suggested something - so I sent him a link to a place and he made a reservation. He comes home and while nearly EVERY other year on our anniversary he's brought flowers, even sometimes the ones he proposed with, this time; nada. Then he goes out for a bit walking to the store nearby and comes home with pink tulips. Nice thought--however late it was. Not my fave color, but i like tulips and tell him so. We put them in a vase and head out to dinner. At dinner, I give him a card and a nice gift (new Fitbit which he'd said he'd like someday). He thanks me, and says he didn't really do anything for me but thought maybe later there would be something I'd need for surgery that I could pick out. (Really?! after 30 years of marriage that would be what - a pair of sweatpants?!) I say it's okay - and that really there's nothing I need for surgery. After dinner we took a walk at my nudging, did a hill climb of stairs to see a nice view, headed home and made love (sorry if TMI here). Still nothing to acknowledge the anniversary really. No card, no little thought gift, zip. Now I get that i'm huge (285) and have been for far too long. I get that he's like a 'more active intimate life' but once a week is about all I can handle feeling so big. I get that I let him off the hook some with the idea of a later trip. But hello; I do more than my share of keeping this marriage rolling, I earn half the income, I work more hours, and I still cook most of the meals. Why the h*ll couldn't he have at least written a crummy card or something?! Damn!! I've been thinking another thirty years together was something to look forward to, but this really felt lousy. End of rant. Kate

Hi guys...Monday was filled with ups and downs. Came out of surgery in a lot of pain from gas that pain meds couldn't do anything about. Slept then i got gas medicine then I felt better but then the nausea took over like crazy. I was so nauseated I couldn't even speak. Next day felt much better walked around and then I got discharged. At home pain was worst from incisions but now I'm doing better.. Thank God for forts that's all I can say for now. I know that TMI but for future sleevers that's the best advice ever. I hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there...Later

What Is/was Your Favorite Blender Food Combo?
Ms skinniness replied to Dooter's topic in Purée (stage 2)
Mushies too me were like soups, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, yogurt, sf pudding. I actually skipped the pureed stage bc the thought made me want to throw up. Sorry TMI. -
I know it's soo easy to get up, after all we did cut out a portion of our stomach. Have faith we all stall. That's the body way of handling all that's going on. As long as your eating and drinking what you are required to eat and drink then you are fine. That extra pound could be water or TMI poop lol. You are doing great!

Anyone else having issues with this? I just had my surgery in November and can't go without a laxative (sorry probably TMI). Does anyone have suggestions other than laxatives?
-
I'd probably rip a fart and kill the mood. Was that TMI? I doubt it, I think we lost our TMI filter a long time ago on this forum. seriously, so gassy and gross feeling at this point (13 days out) I can wait a bit.

August 2018 sleeve surgery!!
Frmamomzeyez replied to susunorm's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This may be TMI so, let me say sorry up front. Day Five of this liquid protein and green veggies diet. Is anyone else on the liquid green veggies diet having some serious diarrhea?? Woke up in the middle of the night running to the bathroom and it’s all green. 😂 ewww. Then before I took my kids to camp again. I can’t keep eating green veggies if this is gonna keep happening. I will be stuck at home all weekend. It’s so uncomfortable using work bathrooms. I don’t use public bathrooms at all. I always hold it until I get home. However with what’s going on now, not sure I will be able to hold it. 🤦🏽♀️ ugh 😠 annoyed that I still have a 8 days to go.
