It's done...although with last-minute changes

Small update...my plateau finally broke, and it was the result of actually increasing my calorie intake a little bit. I am now sitting at around 1,200-1,300 calories a day and the weight loss has picked back up again. I've started back at the gym again, just adding cardio. Over the past couple of months, my endurance and general condition has improved so much. When I first moved back to Colorado from California in mid-November and started delivering parcels for Amazon Flex, it was exhausting. Now, I barely break a sweat...so it was time to get back to daily cardio workouts. A great NSV is the fact that I've gone from a 52 waist pant worn below my waistline (and gut) to a 46 waist at my ACTUAL waist. I made the mistake of not measuring my waist before I started this process, so I'm not sure what it actually was...but I'm betting I started around 56" or so. So probably 10" off my waist to this point. I'm also fitting into 2x clothing now, down from 4x. My wife just had her first appointment with a surgeon, she's planning on getting the RNY during her summer break (she's a teacher). She's been impressed with the weight loss I've achieved thus far and is excited (and nervous) about following in my footsteps. It's the been the best decision I've made though, I wish I'd done it 10 years ago. Still got a ways to go, but it's coming! -
Does anyone feel like it wont happen?

Fit, I friend if mine had this saying, "how do you eat an elephant?.... One bite at a time!!" He meant that to look at a task that is really large you complete it one step at a time. Celebrate the intirim goals, that will give you victories and help keep motivated!! Plus its nice to have wins!!! In our cases if we have 100 pounds to lose, and set 10-10# wieght loss minigoals and we only lose 90 pounds, thats is still damn good!! Do we meet our ultimate goal, no, but we reached 9 minigoals, have 9 victories and still lost 90pounds!!! Plus we probably had a few NSV's along the way!!! Thats awesome and pretty good!! We would all be that much healthier and skinnier and better off!!! Every large task I have undetaking since, i have looked at the same way. -

Hi All, Another NSV! Went to a concert tonight. actually fit into the seat ,easily.! i wasn't squashed together with my thighs touching the person next to me!! i've tried and no amount of sucking it in and squeezing my legs together prevented me from touching the other person's leg in the past. Cannot put my arms down below the arm rests but this is much more comfortable!! -

HI All, Another NSV or two- down 2 more sizes in clothing. Slacks i bought 2 weeks ago (fit well), are too loose now. ( Am running out of clothes that fit!) Not quite out of plus size clothes. Also did 2 + hours in the garden - before I could barely do 30 minutes w/o having trouble breathing. -

After my 2 weeks off of school(teacher) because of hospitalization-kidney stones and 10 days Spring Break I went back to school - decided to wear a t-shirt that actually fit me .... well, my first class,6 children every 1/2 hour - I'm a kindergarten reading teacher, came in. One of my little guys gave me the once over. You could just see his eyes go over me from head to toe and then back to my face...he looked a little perplexed...then he said, "Are you getting skinny are what?" Later, that day a second grade teacher came over and had to tell me a conversation with one of my former students that is now in her class. Her conversation went like this..."This morning when we were waiting for our special class in the hall and you stopped and talked to them, well after you left B---- asked me "Is it just me, or is Mrs. B losing a lot of weight?". I do parent pick up duty everyday and I am having a lot of them ask me about my weight. This has just started happening because I'm pulling out spring clothes from a longgggggg time ago (over 10 years) and wearing clothes that are fitting and showing off my 83 lb. loss. I never throw anything away so I do have a new-old wardrobe. All this sounds great, right? Well, I do have some worries....that I'd like some help on.....My history tells me when I lose weight enough for people to notice...I have always in the past started to slip off the program...I don't know why? Is it I'm being successful so I don't have to try so hard and give myself permission....Am I feeling uncomfortable with the Personal attention (although I'm a pretty outgoing person). This time I am changing my lifestyle - Exercise and not as obsessed with eating...I guess I keep saying this is too good to be true...when is this going to end. I still have 100 lbs to lose ... I have been very true to the lapband rules and measuring my food until just recently have slipped acouple of times... This is scary for me.... This my not be the right thread for this conversation but along with NSV and being motivated because they did bring a smile and good feeling to me...comes my insecurities. Please share thoughts, experiences, or suggestions. Thanks Deb PS I'm having a hard time getting rid of my too big clothes. -

Now wearing my old size 12 hipster jeans... and they're a little loose. Even my teenage daughter said 'mom, you look fantastic' (compliments from teen rare as hens teeth). Perhaps the strangest NSV is that I want to go running! It's been years since I ran or wanted to run (10 years ago I used to run 5 miles a day). I ran 3 days in a row this week... only 2 miles each time but still... to get up early in the morning and want to do it is incredible. The band and the weight loss success and the compliments and self confidence all together are life changing. I'm one happy camper. -

Congratulations to everyone for the NSVs. It is great to have a place where we can share these celebrations. In the last few days I've tried on a number of blouses and jackets. For the first time I am able to actually button the blouses and some jackets I've owned for years. For many years I've worn jackets without buttoning or sipping because I simply couldn't pull together the buttons or attempt the zipper. It really is a great feeling to be able to comfortably wear some of these items that have been in my closet for too many years. -

I noticed today that I have cheekbones. Not just pudgy cheeks that some old relative would want to pinch, but honest to goodness cheekbones again. I have also dropped a pants size. I am still wearing my "big" pants, but today I was able to comfortable wear a pair of jeans that are 1 size smaller. I know I have a long way to go, but... Thanks everyone for sharing your NSV!! How very exciting! Congrats to all of you!! -

This is great nsv: I've been able to walk for 1.5 miles come in and bike for an additional 10 min. Pretty good for someone that couldn't make it from parking lot to my classroom without huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. Also, can bend down and tie my shoes! I used to have to have to finagle all around the couch to get the task done. And the biggest "one my positive attitude" is affecting my DH we actually - playfully wrestled the other night...been a long time since that happened. He's been wonderfully supportive! I had a NSV I don't care to repeat. I have a beautiful gold bangle bracelet that hubby bought me his 1st tour in Iraq. I wore it to work yesterday and when I got home and started taking off my jewelry, it wasn't on my arm. I panicked. I quickly ran back to work and there it was, laying on the floor by the desk where I had been sitting. I think it came off when I pulled my sweater off and I never felt it come over my hand. Whew! I am so glad I found it.

Well, Ive lost a total of 21 pounds since surgery right? and I was getting really depressed because the scale hasnt moved since week 2 of being banded. Well, I tried on a skirt I made for myself about 3 weeks before being banded and guess what? It was 4 inches too big in the waist! 4 inches! It fell off of me when I put it on. WHOOT! Also I saw a friend who came back from the army this week and he said "wow I can tell youve lost weight..expecially in the face" and he still cant get over the change in a short amount of time. Gotta love moments like this =) :hugs to all: -Kendra

Hey Maysters! Haven't checked in with you guys lately! How is everyone? Happy Bandaversary to all of you! We have done so well as a group! My Bandaversary is coming up in 9 days! I had hoped to be in Onederland (199) by then and am just outside of it. Today I weighed 204! How awesome is that?! I had another fill on Tuesday and am now up to 2.75 cc's in my band, so I'm still on liquids. HOPEFULLY I will make it to 199 by the 26th. If I don't, I won't be upset... this year has been amazing! I bought some size 14 MISSY's capri pants and a size 12 Missy's skirt the other day(It doesn't zip all the way, but it will). I have NEVER in my life shopped in the MISSY'S Department! I went straight from the Sear's half sizes when I was in elementary school to the Plus Size departments. I gotta admit that I am totally freaked out by the Missy's department and find myself wondering back to the safe, comfortable Plus Size area. This is a mental hangup that I have to get past. I feel totally out of my element in the Missys. How crazy is that? I have sooo many NSVs that I have exeperienced over this last year that I can't even begin to list them all... I had a wonderful talk with my surgeon the other day.... These were his comments: "Wow, do you realize that you have lost a lot more weight than we expect in just under a year?", and "You are definitely leading the pack", and "I can't ask for you to be doing any better" and "Since you have done so well... we aren't gonna go crazy with this fill.. the only thing worse than being too loose is being too tight". My doc made me feel sooo good about where I am right now! I love my band!!! Its the best 18 grand that I will ever spend. Also... I have been getting alot more attention from guys... A little background... my younger cousin (by about 4 years) and I have always been very close, she is practically my little sis... anyway.. she is adorable.. 5'6, 125, awesome blue eyes and gorgeous long flowing brown hair. She has recently become single(broke up with a total loser, thank you God!) and we've been hanging out a lot. In the past, I've always been the invisible fat girl with the hot cousin. Well, now I'm no longer invisible! I catch guys checkin me out a lot more now. This is nice, but I still am having lots of body issues. I think I've always hidden behind my weight and I am a little freeked out that its not gonna be my protection from the world anymore(I have no idea why I need this protection). Most people don't understand this because I am very outgoing... everyone's confidant, everyone's buddy,I never meet a stranger.... but nobody's girlfriend. My friends tell me that I put out a major "don't approach me vibe" when it comes to guys. I don't know why I do this... I guess it is because my self esteem has always been pretty low, which I have always attributed to being big. Anyway... the weight loss has been awesome and I will never regret being banded. I just gotta work on the self esteem and body image now. Slowly the fat girl in the mirror is being replaced by a "normal sized girl"...the transformation continues. Thanks for letting me rabmle and I know you guys can relate! Have a great day Mayster and thanks for being here for me!

I was at the deli this afternoon picking up cold cuts for my kids' lunch. While I stood there I knew I just had to have a yodel ... sneak it on the way home so no one would know ... then I read the calorie count (440 for one serving!!!) and I put it down. I told myself why did you bother with the surgery to do this! Now this may not seem like much to some of you, but believe me this is a big deal for me. I would buy those family size boxes of devil dogs and eat the whole thing. So I'd like to pat myself on the back and share it with you guys who will understand!! Thanks! Mayra

Great job on not yodeling, but what the heck is nsv? I've seen it so many times, but can't figure it out?

Hello everyone. I'm about 1 yr and 5 months post op surgery was August 6 2013 my HW was 350lbs. And I'm currently 165lbs. Still about 20 to 40lbs till my actual goal but this far I'm pretty happy. Well I took my measurements a few months back. I've lost maybe 10 lbs since thing but here's my NSV... Along with an inch in my neck. :-) now only if I could lose this last 20lbs or so and the excess skin oh how I hate the excess skin!! Anyways this feels great to know 10 lbs and 6 inches from each area that's 19 inches all over lost... :-) hmm anyone else with their NSV... oh also I can wear a size 7 with medium tops :-) from size 24/26 to a 7. And from a 3xl-4xl shirt to mediums! Yay

OK here is my NSV for this week. Well it happened over the weekend but it still counts. LOL!!! John and I went to a musical conference and had a display booth there with his music and other items to promote him. There was a friend of ours there that hadn't seen me since I was banded. HEE HEE!! John was talking to our friend and this guy who I have known for 5 years looks at me and says to John, "Who is this?" I look at our friend and say, "HELLO, IT IS ME PENNI!" He takes a jump back and says loudly in a crowded room, "NO FUCKING WAY! WOW! YOU ARE HOT!" LOL!! Isn't that the greatest?! By the way, does anyone else feel taller after losing weight? I just realized I feel taller for some reason. Could be I feel better about myself and don't wanna be in the back or slumped down trying to hid anymore.

Turtle Tribe Holiday NSV Challenge

Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, time to check-in with your NSVs. 11/5/05 All my pants are starting to look like giant clown pants, none of them fit in the butt or thighs anymore. If I didn't have this damn thick waist, I would really be in honest size 18 jeans. My black leather jacket is going to have to be retired soon. It's rediculously large on me now. The sleves alone now hang past my finger-tips and it looks like I could smuggle a medium sized ham in each shoulder. So I tried on my big winter coat, and now it really is my huge winter coat. It's about XX too big. It's fully reversable a suede stadium jacket, with lepord fake fur on the other side. I love this jacket, but next year, some other lucky bandster gets to love it. It's important for me that last winter before I was banded I couldn't zip the black leather jacket up. There was a 2-3 inch gap that just wouldn't meet. While the stadium jacket fit, it was pretty snug. Not any more! 11/10/05 Lastnight I was using my laptop. In my lap. This means that I HAVE A LAP!!!!! Woot! 11/14/05 When I sit on the floor or in a hard chair, I feel the bones in my butt. Not only my tail bones, but other bones (probably my pelvic bones?) as well.
