Since when am i photogenic? NSV!
Fiddleman replied to fatrosie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Isn't that a wonderful NSV! And you did it on accident?!?!? How luck are you. My candid shots always break the camera. They don't look good. -
My friend took this candid picture of me cooking yesterday and I was shocked that I looked so adorable! It's the first time I've ever been pleased with a candid shot of me it feels so good!

This post brought tears to my eyes. It is very positive & filled with Victory!! I'm so happy for you. The NSVs are awesome! They give us hope when the scale is being mean, lol! Congrats on your success thus far & you will continue to do just fine friend!! :-)

I'll start with the update. I'm currently 389, which is 70lbs GONE FOREVER from my highest weight at the end of 2012. It's so exciting... it somehow seems less daunting to lose the weight since I got out of the 400s. I'm so happy and grateful for my progress so far! My weight loss isn't really showing IMO, and by that, I mean I don't think others are noticing it. I certainly am, but all my usual clothes still fit, there are some that are bigger than others, but some that were snug before and now just fit like they are supposed to. I can see that the clothes are looser, though - just not quite enough that it's time to start looking for smaller clothes. That will come soon enough, and I'm not looking forward to it! I don't have many clothes in smaller sizes, so that means I'm gonna have to start shopping! My NSV is: I HAVE BONES, Y'ALL. Bones in my hands! Collarbones! Bones in my feet! I saw my reflection when I was walking to the parking garage at work today, and I happened to see my bones in my feet as I was walking. I was shocked! It's been so long since I saw those bones!! Soon enough I'LL HAVE ANKLES! *gasp* As I write this, I have a ring on my finger that I used to wear as a left hand pinky ring and it's now fitting on my right hand ring finger. Whaaaat??? I can't remember what size this ring is, but I think it's a size 7 - I used to wear a 9 on my right hand ring finger (well 8 1/2 would probably fit, but 9 just felt better). I can see the change in my body and I know that with all this fat sliding off in those places that it's just a matter of time before it starts coming off my belly/hip/thighs. I'm starting to feel like a lady again, and it's wonderful!

ProudGrammy replied to Wls4me's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wls4me isn't it funny how "other" people might fit into a size "large" all of a sudden and say, "OMG, no way - oh no!!!" whereas us more "full figured" people get thrilled with large ahhhhh - clothes shopping - one of the greatest NSV's of our new lives!!!! keep up the great job kathy BunnyK attn attn if you are reading this - yell, yes kathy here i am if you are not reading this - yell, nope kathy, not here OMG!!!! is that really you??? i almost didn't recognize you!!!! 71 lbs down!!!! 199.8 this morning. LOL scales definitely aren't "flying" downward like I hear with some new sleevers, but that's (mostly) ok. I think we all want to lose weight as quickly as possible, even when it's not realistic. If I weren't still trying to stick to full liquids/puree (essentially the same thing with my docs office), I wouldn't feel like I had a sleeve at all. No difficulty drinking, haven't had trouble with anything that I've tried, no nausea, soreness, etc. I'm hungry, too, but I'm hoping that will change once I start eating solids. On the NSV side of things, my pants have definitely gotten looser! I worked a big bike race yesterday and although it sucked to be in full police uniform directing traffic for 12 hrs, it was nice to have loose pants while doing it. No complaints (so far and knock on wood!) about the sleeve! I didn't weigh at home before going to MX, but I'm guessing I've lost 12-15 lbs since surgery (2 weeks ago). I've NEVER lost an average of 6 lbs in one week before and now, the scales will be going back in the closet! LOL I'll weigh again in 2 weeks, maybe a month, or, if I can stand it , 6 weeks. Until then, I'll try to make the best choices I can with soft foods (start those tomorrow) and keeping the calories down, but emotionally, I do better without those scale numbers. Cindy -
Congrats on your NSV! Please post pics as proof!

Maddysgram replied to donna12's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
LOL, thats great Donna! I think that even though I don't need any new clothes, I should go into stores and just try things on, just because I can and it does make you feel good. I remember the days of having to try things on and not wanting to, knowing you were just going to leave in tears. Get NSV! Keep it up! -
how to reset your metabolism with excersize and food?
Fiddleman replied to leeann71's topic in Fitness & Exercise
That is friggin awesome Anne. Breaking through any major boundary is such an NSV. -
So I have been sick since Friday and that totally sucks but as of this afternoon my BMI is 29.9 and I am officially no longer obese. I have lost 90 lbs since 12/12/12 and I am only 30-35lbs away from my goal and I am not scheduled to be there until 12/12/13. Just keeping an eye out for my silver lining. lol

So...I was on vacation last week and was so happy to not just fit into the seat on the plane, but I didn't need the belt extender and I had no problem buckling the belt (I even had to tighten it a little!). Then, I had no problem putting down the armrest. For the first time in years, It wasn't tight, it wasn't riding up on my hip, it just went down...and stayed there. Oh glory!! I didn't eat or drink anything other than Water but I just had to bring the tray down...and again...it went down and stayed there. I didn't have to move my belly out of the way, I didn't have to worry it wouldn't go down... Oh the happiness of the ordinary!! I'm even OK with the 1/2 lb. weight gain. I was very aware of portions and did well in that regard but we ate out alot and I know I ate items that were higher in sodium than I usually eat at home so I expect it's probably water weight. I don't care right now...I was like a regular person on the flight and that is so satisfying.

My new NSV is being able to shop on the right side of the store when I go in a Cato or Dress Barn store. lol. They have regular Misses sizes to the right and Women's sizes to the left. I get Lane Bryant catalogs in the mail and can now put them in the trash. Yippee!

I am not taking Laura-ven as a role model...NSV #1!
LipstickLady posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I did an early morning sweep of all my pants today. I took all my size 20 pants and rotated them out of my closet and into a bin to go to the shelter I volunteer at and/or the consignment shop. I have lost 30.8 pounds and have gone from a snug 20W to a very loose 18W. Fortunately, I work from home and when I am out, I am business casual. My daily outfit consists of either khaki or black trousers or trouser capris and I have them down to a size 16R so I don't need to buy anything yet. I did not do the tops because I have tremendous ta-tas and I can still wear most of the tops, even if they look a little balloonish. Have you started yet, Laura? Don't make me show you up. -
So the nerves are hitting me now
******** replied to ********'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone! I am now on day 3 post op and feeling a LOT better than yesterday. I already have a NSV: I slept on the couch instead of the recliner! Tonight I will try sleeping in our bed. I did take pain meds since coming home but for me it is to curb the gas pains and help me sleep. -
Congratulations! Isn't it crazy? Great NSV!

I have been putting off getting a new swimsuit for laps after my other one got too big, and I had surgery which has kept me out of the pool for quite a while. I couldn't find anything I liked in town (and the prices were astronomical) so I went online to Swimsuitsforall.com and found some cute suits. Got a size 10 per their measurement guidelines. Received them in the mail today and tried them on - too big!!! For the first time in my life I didn't have enough butt to fill the seat of the suit!! I am sending them back for smaller suits --- how sweet it is
