  1. My Mom had young jeans. LOL. Where are you from and where did you have your surgery? I have two granddaughters and they live in Atlanta. I am visiting them now. I live 15 miles outside of Augusta Ga. I use to crochet and make all kinds of crafts, but I o nly sew now. My sign in name is what I testify that I am blessed. The number three means trinity in the bible.

  2. Just to keep you up to date I have lost 112lbs as of today. I have now moved to Florida and taking life 1 day at a time. I lost my job 3 weeks ago and I felt as if a burden was lifted. That was a big suprise. Keep in touch!

  3. MN Mary - I am in Minnesota too... just up 35W in Farmington. I am being sleeved on Jan 6th in Mexico...How is your recovery going? I think youa re about 2 weeks out. I hope all is going well for you! Please let me know if there is anything I really need to know about the sleeve.

  4. how did your consultation go? Who is your surgeon? Update for me as of today when I called my chart is still on Dr. Zorn desk hopefully sometime this week; I can at least get a date. Until I am staying busy working and writing my Master's Thesis for the completion of my Master's program. I've decided I will just update weekly with PB and see how it goes. No worrying, no stress. It w...

  5. I never made it out of the hospital before the leak was detected. I was 2 days post-band to sleeve revision. The leak was surgically repaired as soon as it was detected with heavy mattress suturing, and then I went those days without food or liquids. Once I could start "food", I did 17 days of clears, 1 week of full liquids then onto mushies.

  6. I did have a leak, and was completely NPO (nothing by mouth)for 22 days. I had a pic line in my arm that fed me 1800 calories a day for over 2 weeks. It is emotional, and very mentally/physically draining, but you will heal and recover. Trust your doctors, and once you are back on liquids, stick to the post-op guidelines. Hang in there, it'll get better each day.

  7. Thanks Luna :)...don't worry about the scale IT WILL eventually come off :)...I was literally at 10 for so long then BAM another 10 came off in like a week and a half...Hey we are meeting in Rancho Cucamonga Saturday at 10 am if your available it would be great to meet you :)...we can all LITERALLY share a breakfast HILARIOUS!!!! lol!

  8. Every doctor is different. The hospital I had it done at is used by many different bariatric doctors, and they said that most of the doctors remove the drainage tube before the patient leaves the hospital, but my doctor prefers to do it a week later.

  9. I have not had surgery yet one more week. But I will let you know how it goes.

  11. Hi Shana :)...just checking in on you! I'm 6 weeks out today :). 18.8 lbs lost (average 3.13 a week). My knees are feeling so much better. The left is still recovering from a mcl sprain, so there is still pain. Hope you're doing well ;)

  12. weight loss has been so slow the 5 weeks. I am getting so frustrated. Help needed!

  13. Hey guys.

I've been sleeved on Sept 20th. The first week amazing, I lost 12 pounds, but during the last 8 days, I gain 1 or 2 pounds. What I am doing wrong???

  14. Hi Coops, don't really want to say to much about this revamp but I don't know if it's just because I'm not used to it but I ahate it!!! Didn't have a good day yesterday, thin I had too many carbs/calories (ussually have too many carbs anyway) Am down to 82 kilos though, another 2 kilos in a bit more than a week but for some reason I'm being negative and think...

  15. Wow, Tim, it sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now (except for food)! I'm sorry things are so stressful.

I'm not on regular foods yet. I have one more week of mushies and then move on to soft foods. I'm pretty sure I'm confusing the two. I started doing much better this past week because I added fish to my diet. I did it a little earlier than scheduled, but I had to do something to get in enough protein. I told the doc about it and she is (mostly) okay with it. My weight loss is frustratingly slow. I don't know why. I'm walking on the treadmill (only fifteen minutes a day) and I'm getting my protein in and I'm not overdoing carbs or calories. I'm still not drinking enough liquids, but I'm doing the best that I can. I feel great for parts of the day and then sink into a no energy zone for a while. I sure hope this evens out.

How are you feeling? What are you eating?

  16. Deb,

How long were you off work with your surgery? I know everyone is different, but I wondered if a week was enough.

  17. same here in sunny newcastle! couldn't update ticker just posted it but can't figure how to change the old one! yep 8 weeks out tomorow and lost 14 kg. you're doing really well! me too more energy but shattered at night, yesterday fell asleep in the middle of eastenders!

  18. Hiya Chilo,

yea I am good... all good here in sunny Wales...lol

Lost 35lb now which is around 17kg so I am getting there!!

Work is ok, I have more energy when I get home now, so I am really starting to feel the benefits of losing some weight and getting fit!

How are you doing... glad you updated your ticker... you are doing soooo well in just 8 weeks (?) xx

  19. When I gulp instead of sip I get air in my stomach and I get a little bit of gurgling and the burps. Doesn't hurt but definitely noticeable.

No fat person is ever going to be satisfied with just liquids. I miss food. But when I have the slimfast and then jello.. I'm not hungry and every morning i get on the scale and I see it going down so that is what keeps me going. I have had a bite of egg and a bite of pizza. Both upset my stomach but within 5 minutes the gurgling was gone. Back to liquids for another week for me.

  20. I don't work yet. I took care of my mother for three years until she passed away in March and have been so busy doing probate and dealing with her stuff, I don't have time to work, too!

  21. Friday the 24th will be week 5. Everything has been going well so far. My only problem is that I have to crush my medicine to get it down and trying to get in my water intake. I have only lost 32lbs so far but I know in time it is coming off. I glad your surgery went well. Cheers to you!

  22. I had to go back to work this week, 11 days post surgery. I was very worried about how I'd do, and honestly, I think people need two weeks off of work. Part of each day I felt great, and there were other parts that were really kind of tough.

My weight loss has stalled, but I've decided to be okay with that. I'm still not getting in every bit of protein I'm supposed to, but I'm doing better.

How are you? Glad you're home and on the mend.

  23. Hey, Sleeve Sister! Just stopping by to check on you. I hope things are going well. I'm gearing up for the 3 week stall. eek! Take care!

  24. (It would not let me post the entire message, had to submit in two posts)

Thanks for the encouraging words:-) As of right now, my weight loss has slowed. I am 6 weeks post op and have lost a total of 41 pounds. Plus I have started to incorporate regular foods back into my diet, which was a lot of trial and error the first week, but now so far so good. However, I must admit that I have eaten nuggets at Chick-fil-a couple of times :-( and my weight loss has slowed (which I am a little concerned about) But other that, everything has been going well.

  25. Well six months out and doing good. The weight just keeps slowly coming off.

Down 72 lbs now. I am doing a lot of biking so I have also out on some muscle.

Just started lifting weights again a week ago so I expect to put some more weight with that.

Into 38 in. jeans now... and I don't know the last time that happened!

Bags and bags of my clothes to the thrift store... I refuse to spend much on clothes.

I going with one pair of jeans at a time through the journey...

I don't count carbs or cals at all and I am enjoying eating less food... cookies (life style kind) every day with my Tim Horton's coffee.

I would like to be down 100lbs by Christmas... It will be close!

    Blessings Russ
