Well great NSV! I can only wish you success in losing off your boobs! I did go down from DD to C.
-
I just wanted to share my nsvs with everyone, first, drop in blood pressure from 140 range to 105 range, yay! Second, I went bra shopping and have lost 4 inches in band size. The crazy part is, even with almost 30 lbs lost, I've actually gone UP in cup size! From a 42H to a 38I. My husband is incredibly happy, he even did a little dance ( can you tell he is a boob man?) but I am kind of bummed, I was hoping I would lose some of the ladies! No cute bras for me, only thumb thick underwires lol.

16% body fat is awesome bud. My goal is go get below 15% and I will be a happy man. I think my sleeve is a little bigger then most. I have no issues eating 4-6oz of chicken or steak if I keep it moist when cooking. I find BBQing my protein, slow indirect heat, keeps my protein moist and tender. If I quickly grill it over direct heat I can`t eat nearly as much. I am now eating over 200g protein daily rather easily. I just started doing this about 3 weeks ago and it help break a stall I was in. What I do now is take 1.5 scoops of whey isolate per shake instead of 1 scoop. That`s 45g protein twice a day from shakes. I drink one shake about an hour before working out and the second one when I get home from my workout about 2 hours later. In the evening about an hour before bed I drink a single scoop of casein worth another 24g protein. So in shakes daily I am getting 114g protein. I actually like drinking shakes because I make so many different types and still look forward to drinking them. I use to eat at least 4-5 meals a day but since upping the shakes I eat about 3 meals and a snack or two if it fits within my macros. In each of my meals I make sure to have 4oz of protein for either chicken breast, top sirloin or salmon. For example I would take 1 8oz chicken breast and split it into two 4oz portions and that`s good for 2 of my 3 meals. 4oz of chicken breast is 26g of protein so that`s another 52g protein added to the shakes. With another 4oz serving of salmon of steak its around another 25g protein. That`s 191g of protein and I usually bring that up over 200g with a hard boiled egg, high protein kashi cereal or greek yogurt based salad dressing. I have actually upped my allowed carbs to 100g daily and am still losing. The biggest NSV for me is I am now over 1800calories a day and still losing. It took me about 6 weeks but I finally have gotten my metabolism back on track. Its a nice feeling eating this much and still losing. . -
Hi! Yay for a poster in the April banders section! I'm doing really well. I had some really big issues with dry heaving at the start until we figured out my Vitamins and B12 were causing it. I've been taken totally off those as of 3.5 weeks and its stopped the problems. That did, however cause a 4 pound weight GAIN because I could suddenly actually eat again. (I was literally starving myself because of the dry heaving) That being said...I've relost those 4 pounds and am down a total of 21 pounds so far with a goal to hit 25 by this next sunday...4 pounds this week? lol. I can try, right? I was banded 4/24/13. Two days ago I decided to try on a pair of capris that have always been too tight and hurt my belly if I wore them for any amount of time. They fit! No pain! No rubbing! No gut sucking to zip them up. That was a great NSV. Those capris have caused me so much grief over the years, though...I can't wait to get rid of them because they are too big! No fill yet...Scheduled for June 7th.

Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Cath, I hope that your blood tests come back negative. The other thing that can cause back pain is the Phrenic Nerve which runs around the base of the Diaphragm and can cause referred pain into the back. Mzbkt, I know that the pre op period can be really stressful, however, the serious complications that can result post op if you smoke up until the surgery could make your recovery very uncomfortable. If you can use the patches for even just a week before surgery, you could reduce the risks of Lung related complications and also the risk of developing a clot. Mistysj, it sounds like what you experienced today is called 'dumping', this usually happens when we drink/eat too much sugar (more commonly) or fat and it doesn't get absorbed. Unfortunately, the only treatment is to do what you are doing and rest until the symptoms pass. I am sorry that you have experienced this so early in your recovery. Lissa, I love your NSV about being told to buy 'smaller clothes'...that is such a hoot. LOL. I'll bet you had a quiet giggle at that comment. Bec, I hope that you are doing well after your surgery? Regards Michele -

NSV today: Went shopping at NY& Co. And passed right by Lane Bryant! The first time shopping there in ten years. Fit a pair of size 16 short shorts and they are so cute and sexy!!!! -
It's been a while since I have posted. I frequent the forums, but only read the ones that stand out. As of today my weight is 239 pounds. That is 72 pounds since I got sleeved. I can definitely feel my strength returning. I can lift, and carry things. I can go up and down the stairs without a problem. I can do an hour of cardio plus weight training and still go on with my daily routine without having to take a nap. I fell great! I think besides the occasional migraine from my neck tension all is well. I think it is time for me to get that much needed massage. I deserve it! I haven't been as strict with my eating habits as I was in the beginning...I do admit. I definitely still make an effort. Where I lack in effort is preparing my meals and eating every 2-3 hours. I think if I ate every 2-3 hours then my metabolism would speed up. I've upped my carbs to about 100...sometimes 150. It is not necessarily low carb, but I can feel my body needs it when I work out. My workouts are way more productive and I don't feel light headed when I get my calories, protein, and carbs in. I don't really eat bread. I tried it a few times, but I just didn't like how it made me feel and pretty much avoid it now. I love quinoa! It tastes great with some chicken. As far as my hair loss goes...I chopped my hair off. It was annoying me and now it is much less noticeable. It is still falling out, but not so aggressively as it was before. I am not too attached to my hair so it was no big deal to chop it all off. And it is summer so it is much cooler. Some nsv's I don't need a daily nap My feet shrank I can do lots of cardio I don't avoid stairs Last month I only lost 10 pounds...I went on vacation for 2 weeks and didn't work out or eat right. Hopefully I can lose 15 pounds this month

Flirting_ one of my favorite NSVs. glad you had fun! -
Went to the big charity concert first Boston Strong last night. A young cute guy sat next to me and was chatting me up and flirting with me. I have the best fiance Who Let me play along with the flirting to boost my ego. It felt awesome! Also, I never had time for dinner so I fought all the temptation to eat crappy food the stadium offers. I munched on a Quest bar to keep from getting shaky. So proud I won against the junk food.

Congrats on the NSV! We missed you!

Yes, I would also say to have a heart to heart talk with yourself & revisit your intial reasons for having the surgery in the first place. I also recommend setting fresh goals for yourself that have nothing to do with the scale, just NSVs only. Then, write down your vision & plan that you have to knock off the last lbs you plan to lose & hang it where you will be reminded daily. Hope this helps. Best wishes...

Spent a week here http://www.nps.gov/meve/index.htm. Truly an amazing place and one that I would recommend to anyone visiting this part of our nation. I gave up logging after the first day, tried to make good choices and stay active, but found this little Mexican restaurant and the food was amazing, including something new to me that the owner called "Mexican Coleslaw", I am going to have to work on re-creating his version of it. Got on the scale for the first time in a week and the verdict is, up 5 pounds. Not a big deal, since I know I didn't eat 21K extra calories, I know that the weight is water and will soon go away now that I am back on my regular eating schedule. A couple of NSV's: 1. Despite the altitude (7-8K), I never ran out of breath on our hikes. 2. One tour through a cliff dwelling required that we crawl out a tunnel with an 18" opening and I doubt that I would have fit 6 months ago.

Do your feet really shrink?
SerendipityHappens replied to memk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
100 pounds down and my feet are still the same length...I've been wearing a size 10 since 6th grade so I don't think they'll get shorter at this point! My feet are a bit narrower and my instep is not as full so I can more easily fit into shoes... I used to be a "wide" width in many shoes.. I went to the shoe store last week to get fitted for some new athletic shoes.... and he came out with a MEDIUM WIDTH!!!! After I bought the shoes, I wandered over to the Dansko section and tried on a pair of danskos in medium width and they fit perfectly.... SO AWESOME because in the past, I was limited to only the plain shoes because those were the only ones that were offered in wide.. But now I can wear any cute pattern I want... I ordered a patent leather floral design... YAY for NSVs! -
I'm back on the boards & down 101 lbs!
