The last 2 days I've been nauseas, dry heaving, diarrhea ( sorry TMI). I dont know if it's my sleeve or the stomach flu? I also have had on and off pain on my left side that travels to middle. ( kinda pulsing pain) It goes away and comes back? The day it started I ate half an egg, 1 slice bacon and 2 bites of hash brown, at lunch I had a cup of clam chowder. When I had lunch I was feeling nauseas and thought I had to eat. I was waking up in goose bumps and sweat running to the bathroom. I was sleeved 4/10 (6 weeks) Anyone had this? I'm miserable and today I'm slowly eating...but I did have a couple sips of seven up.

almost a week post-op....
kels764 replied to kels764's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all of the tips! Theyre much appreciated! My doctor will not allow me to have a laxative because he says it causes rebound constipation. So I can have benefiber and such... but today ive been able to survive on just tylenol so Im hoping that will help my bowels....TMI: I am having small bowel movements, but theyre not solid at all. I guess because Im only consuming liquids? but it still feels like theres something in there.... My port site just feels like the fat is pulling down on it or something when I lay on my side...my butt is so sore from laying on my freaking back! Im ready to sleep on my stomach again lol... I havent had a big issue with hunger...but I am having problems with seeing other people eat and wanting it....even though I dont feel hungry. I still have cravings and everything like that... How do yall incorporate Protein in your diet? I was supposed to start protein on the 4th day postop but cannot do the shakes that I have....I bought something called "Any Whey" and am going to start mixing it with my carnation instant Breakfast. One more question and then Im done I promise! lol What Vitamins do yall take? I have chewable but theyre huge and disgusting...so I bought gummy vitamins but Im worried I shouldnt do those since theyre gummy and sticky? once again sorry for all of the questions! -

So... I was out of town the past couple days, so I've been eating out just about every meal. Also (TMI warning) it's the dreaded TOM, so I've been eating everything in sight! I know! I'm such a piggy! ... And whatdaya know?? As of this morning, I stepped on the scale and, I have a new low weight... 128 lbs. I love my sleeve & my sleeve loves me! lol -
I'm 5 days post op. I was feeling those similar pains until I was able to have my 1st bowel movement today. Sorry if this is TMI, just trying to keep it real. Wish you a speedy recovery!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have to drink my coffee or I will kill my 4 wild children who begin every morning arguing & spazzing out!! I drink a large iced coffee from dunkin donuts every single morning...with cream, sweet & low & sf hazelnut. It is hands down my favorite thing I put in my mouth all day! My Dr is ok w/ it & so is my sleeve. Maybe it will never agree w/ you or maybe you just need a wee bit more time. Tmi alert - best side effect- keeps me totally regular

33.5 Hours Until Surgery
Artsy replied to blondegal1978's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
P.S. the first day I was knocked out most of the time--so the difficult pain is a blur now. TMI: I've had my first little poo today--that was a goal of mine for the weekend.. I know you'll do great. -
Oh yeah -In and Out burgers are GREAT -- and they have them all over the place here in LV - including one less than 2 miles from the house ... only thing with In & Out (TMI here) is that they give me (and Bearded too) HORRIBLE gas ... not sure if it's the burger or the fries ... haven't eaten there since surgery.

I hope this is not a TMI moment but here goes.....FYI - if you have allergies (and post nasal drip with them) watch out for possible "hunger pangs". I was miserable from "hunger" that even a protein packed meal would not satisfy. Turns out, what I really had was allergic post nasal drip that was troubling my stomach and making me think I was hungry. Be sure to treat your allergies (Claratin works great for mine) and keep the false hunger away.

----hi Jaime I'm exactly 4 weeks out today; surgery was 12.12 Struggling with Hernia repair recovery and scared to really try more soft solids such as tuna and grilled fish or even eggs I tried thinned out oatmeal at one week out and it literally sat in my chest like a bag of sand -- and that was only one tablespoon that took me 45 minutes to get through My doc prescribed me carafate about 2 weeks ago to help with the pulsing pain and pressure so things have gotten Better but I'm still nervous. I'm going to try egg whites this weekend in the comfort of my home and see how it goes I'm getting in more Protein shakes and Water these days which is giving me more energy --- I was super super weak for the majority of the past 4 weeks I think I'm stalled at 210.4 now -- been here since Monday jan 6 after a streak of coming down a pound or so a day Started losing weight on my own in oct 2013 -- from 260 to about 237 Then surgery on 12.12 and now steady at 210.4 after 4 weeks -- I'm 5'7" My ultimate goal is to maintain 165-170 so time will tell; I think it's realistic with all the carb and sweet restrictions and of course our automatic portion control device ???? I plan to start spin classes in a few weeks depending on how I feel -- I loved spinning prior to vsg and miss it dearly So where are you now? How's recovery? I was still pretty miserable at 2 weeks out; was even hospitalized for dehydration on day 11 and just came over a bout of painful constipation (TMI but I wouldn't wish that on anyone) Be sure to Stay hydrated!!!!
-
Yep I had it too! I was so empty that I could take a drink & listen to it traveling through my bowels as I ran to the bathroom! TMI! Sorry! "Liquid in" "Liquid out" Pretty much sums it up I think! It'll go away post-op when you get to the mushies.

After you recovered? Thank you in advance!!

Oh, so THAT's what dumping feels like
USMCwifeandTEACHER replied to USMCwifeandTEACHER's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me it was a very painful sense or urgency with violent, watery stools. TMI but just being honest. Totally not worth it. The only silver lining is that I lost about four ounces after I was done, lol. Is it sick that I weigh myself after taking a poo? -
Oh, so THAT's what dumping feels like
USMCwifeandTEACHER posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So... Before I start. YES, I ate bad stuff. YES, this was my fault. YES, I fell off the wagon, AGAIN, but I'm still losing, still in control 98% of the time, and still appreciative that I put myself through this. So before I got sleeved I discovered this new dessert: French Macarons. * sigh* Long story short. They're cute little egg white Cookies sandwiched together with jam, ganache' or buttercream in the center. I think they're good... they are. I was invited to party of someone who I'm trying to impress because I'm an intern in my graduate program. I knew these fancy cookies would be a hit and a conversation starter. I eat one...an hour later, I eat another. An hour later, I eat 1.5. My tummy gets upset. Like real upset. Then I get a headache, massive friggin headache. Then I leave because my bowels were getting angry with me. WOW, violent bathroom episode (I know, TMI), I hate macarons now. So... my body said, "okay girl, you don't believe you had surgery huh?" So that's dumping. -
Gas-X strips, how do they work?
Teajayteejay posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This might be tmi but I have to ask. I am using gas X strips to reduce the gas but I don't think it's working. I am still releasing gas loudly and is very embarrassing. I thought the gas x strips would reduce that. Am I wrong? How does gas X work? Please don't judge. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

Hallo!!!! My surgery was done on June 23... INT Hospital by Dr. Ponce de Leon.... Surgery when well, when i woke up i was in a lot of pain and sill out. When they took me to the recovery room after 2 hrs... This wear pain on by back was killing me the only thing that it was in my mine is walk, walk, and walk, I started walking 21/2 hrs after my surgery because of this intense pain in my back (right right where you tight your bra TMI) even the nurse were telling me is gas once you start walking it will go away... so that's what i did.... i wen into surgery at 8am by 11am i was walking, i recall the nurses telling are you ok are sure you feel good... i just wanted for this pain to go away... the only thing that it was relieving the pain was walking and having by back massage.... by 2pm Dr. Ponce comes in and he ask me how you feel explain to him that i was ok beside the pain on my back... I even told him this gases are killing me, he said is it your shoulders, i said no is my back... and i pointed out... he said ohhh! that's not gas really!!! so i ask ok so what it is it... he said you have a muscle spasm... he goes don't worried i will take care of... when out of my room spoke to nurse 10 min latter here she comes with this all meds.... right into my IV 5min later pain gone.... no more back pain... after that i was in haven... i was able to walk every 1/2... for the 2 days i was in hospital i did good the only thing the bug me at the end was the drain... very uncomfortable..... I passed the leak test, remove my drain... and stared with the liquids... ice chips and juice... that was good. Today I am 10 days... feel very good, the only thing that still bugs me is one of my incision, it has not close yet but is not infected i try to keep it clean and all the time, what i have notice is that since i got home i have check bs and before surgery fasting i couldn't have never get done 220 or 230 fasting or 190 before bed and NOW fasting the highest i had it has been 111 and before bed 83 and i am not taking any meds.... thank god... i am able to keep all my liquids, my protein and my vitamins... when i stared my Journey i was 247 as of today my scale says 229.6 (omg).... I'm still working on my head hunger specially when i smell the food or i see other people eating, other than that I am good.....

Let's talk...Pre-op diet & your BM's 0.o
sassyfrass23 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
*This thread could potentially become TMI. Proceed at your own discretion...* Oooook! I'm on day 11 of my preop liquid diet! Ten days ago- I didn't think I'd make it. So I am THRILLED to say I've lasted this long. Only 4 short days until I'm in the OR and joining all of you on the other side. But before we get too far ahead, I need to know..... Did your BM's change when you were on the preop liquid diet? Mine consists of all liquids with the exception of oatmeal, grits, cottage cheese and yogurt. Everything else is either brother, cream (strained) Soups, SF Jell-O, Protein drinks, Water and decaf tea or coffee. I'm taking in AT LEAST 70 + oz of liquids a day. I figured the "liquids" would be flying through me, if you know what I mean. But it's quite the opposite. I've never had regular BM's and have dealt with constipation regularly and this diet has thrown all of my pre-existing issues into a freakin' conniption. I honestly don't believe it's from dehydration but I suppose I could be wrong (which isn't a common occurrence kidding...) . -
Despondent over apparent gain, please help
Globetrotter replied to Globetrotter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks everybody, update!: I upped my fat, included some cheese. I also knew from lower right abdominal pain that I was probably a bit constipated. Took some miralax, got things moving, and when I weighed myself I was minus the "gain". I then took my shoes off and "lost" another pound and a quarter!! Who knew that keen hiking sandals weighed so much!! I don't know if it is because of my nearly all-meat diet or if I am the only one but, does anyone else have issues with regularity and um, dryness of bm's? If I don't use a laxative, I don't go. Well, I can go, but without help it is just once a week and really painful. Anyhoo, TMI I know!! But thanks for the encouragement everyone and if you come up with any higher fat foods I could eat that are still good for me, let me know!:scared0: -
Dulcolax, smooth move, suppositories? Oh My!
Pammers Johnson posted a blog entry in Pammers Johnson's Blog
***TMI*** I guess Ive not been drinking enough fluids to go with my high protein shakes cause Mama has been Backed up!! I normally have a regular like clockwork body. Get up, have coffee....then go. But the past 3 days, it's been little to none. By the time I thought it was becoming an issue, it WAS an issue! I started getting concerned since my surgery is like TOMORROW! I was straining like I was going to give birth again in time for Mothers Day today. So I placed a desperate call to daughter who picked me up some Dulcolax, some Glycerine Suppostories, and Smooth Move Tea. The tea did nothing but make me have the urge, the Suppository just made it feel worse, and the Dulcolax just hadn't had time to work. I Drank water yesterday until my pee was almost clear!! Finally took a second Dulcolax last night and forced down some Metamucil. Yuck! Had a small tiny bit of relief right before bed but was mindful of my plight with every toss and turn as I slept. This morning...coffee...and I Gave Birth....(I swear I didn't push that hard when I had either of my 3 daughters!!! Alas, I feel I have Triplets so the deed is not done. My Surgey is Tomorrow so I hope I get things "Moving Along" in a normal fashion today. -
Post Op day 6. Scale hasn't moved an ounce.
BKLYNgal87 replied to gohelpyourself's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6 days post-op, you still probably have a lot of edema and swelling. I'm sure your surgical team will tell you this as well. And are you having regular BM's (TMI I know)? I'd guess not, so that contributes to it as well. I know it's hard to avoid the scale now because we expect drastic change but some folks take a little longer to heal than others. Willing to bet after another week or so you'll notice a big difference on the scale. For now, take care and rest up. Congrats on a successful surgery! -
Maybe it is TMI but seriously can I just find an effing happy medium between painfully constipated and damn near shitting my pants?

Chewable/Liquid Paleo vitamins and protein?
Krystal0528 replied to Sherrib4health's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks guys any input is great. In really considering the wellese liquid vitamins.. Has anyone else tried this? I have tried capsules and chewables an have had no luck. I have been on gummys. I have the celebrate capsules an have tried an tried to take. Within 10-15 minutes if taking I got light headed an little dizzy, then throw up. It's so bad I actually dry heave due to puking everything up an nothing being left but the icky yellow stuff (I know TMI) but my hole upper body is sore after this process. I have been through twice an I'm scared to try again:( I have been great on flinstone gummy but in afraid that I'm not getting what I need, or no if I need to take more than just that.
