I totally feel how you feel on not being able to tell if i'm full. My hubby made me some soup last night (i swear he makes the best veggie beef soup in the world!!) and i ate about a cup of his soup...kinda fast i know thats bad but it was so good. Well i started to get pain in my chest and i had to stop eating. I started to walking and that alleviated the pain sat back down and I knocked out within 10 mins lol. I hate it b/c its hard to tell right now. If I were you I would take the weekend off too. I took the entire week of myself. How much did you lose prior to surgery?

Hi Megsy, love your pic - You look exactly like the picture I have in my head of you! And thank you for my first ever friend request!!!!! Yay! (dag or what). Had my first appointment today and I have a date!!!!! 10th February!!! Sooooooo close! That means I start Opti on Tuesday ahhhhh and I'll be fasting for my birthday!!!!!!AHGHHH didnt expect this but I love it - i work best under pressure. I'm just waiting to hear about our finances and make sure we'll be OK with such short notice but I'm pretty sure we'll be good. I think its all systems go but I wont believe it until I take that first revolting sip of Opti. Blah! The nurse today was very impressed at my knowledge and understanding of the process (thanks to all the great bandsters out there like your good self to talk us newbies through it all). Anyway, keep me posted on your day in day out details - love it all!

Try to stear clear of Vicki if you can. I will have to tell you why at a meeting and not here on the posts. Trust me on this one.
I am glad your doing better. I ate steak last night too fast cause I was starving by the time I ate. And man was that painful. It hurt so bad I thought I was gonna pass out. Finally came back up. Didn't stop me though, went back chewed better and finished my steak. Go figure. So I have gained 3 pounds back. I really don't know what to do about my fill on Moday. It is with Deanna so I guess I will talk to her and see what she thnks.
Are you going to the support group meeting?

Lol. I need to start too, haha, i've been doing some things in my school work room, but I pulled something today, so i'm kind of backing off a little lol. xD Wow, that's a lot of walking lol. I like to walk too, and in school, I do a hell of alot of it. In my class we can't sit down for over 2 hours, and were always running back in forth on a time schedual to get everything perfect. =.] I went down 2 pants sizes since school started lol! Zombie prom?! That sounds awesome! Wish we had one of those lol. Haha, awe. =.] I wish you luck with him. My boyfrend and I just had our 2 year anniversery. . The mini bypass is as effective as the band, and yeah it's a small bit. I believe she lost over 200 pounds. I have bad knees too, but it runs in the family. Yeah, shoes are important when working out. I learned that the hard way. Lately my hip has been acting up, and popping out. xD So it affects how fast I can move, lol.

Hello my friend. How is up there in Canada? I love to snowmobile in Cananda and have been there twice. How is the weight lost been going? I am down 30 lbs from my heaviest and wishing it would go faster but they say the slower you loose the better it is. This old skin of mine could not take the fast lost. My neck is getting wrinkled now.....LOL Just stopped by to say hi and hope all is well

Dont mind you asking. Love to help. This whole process can be nerve racking at times.
The 3 month fast track took almost 6 - by the time i finished all required appointments. I started all of my appointments in January. Doctor sent in paperwork for approval 4/30, Aetna received info 5/11, approved me 5/18 and I had the letter of approval 5/24. My surgery was 6/10.

I love nuts, so I keep two oz of almonds, or peanuts, any kind of cheese and a few wheat crackers, string cheese is the best. I just have to keep something that I can get to every three hours or so because if I get too hungry I tend to eat too fast when I eat and then I can not get it to stay down. I like the fruit snacks too. I keep an orange or apple (small) when I have them, I have to peel the apple so I keep a small folding knife in my purse too, this always gets me when I fly, I have to remember to take it out of my purse. Oranges are better for the juice but I don't eat the peth, It layers over the opening to my stomach if I eat too much of it, I think I am very tight for my restriction and I am being very careful now.

Thank you! I feel like it's not going fast enough, but I know it didn't happen overnight too. It's a pretty exciting thing!

My Second post-op is jan 30. Since going back to work I have not gotten into a eating routine yet. I am still having a problem with not slowing down my eating. I will eat to fast and everything will stop and wait at the band. I have not thrown up yet, but I am coming close.
Hope your holiday is going well. Mine was great except for visiting family back in Ohio. Will talk to you later.

My doctor put me on a 10 day liquid fast because I have a dilated esophagus (because I'm a food addict) and I'm realizing that food is my life. I have a ton of hobbies that I love to do, but food is what I look forward to. How in the hell do I get out of this cycle?

Thank you for the picture comments, yeah my buddy (and my mom) was there from morning until i came out that afternoon. and i lost 28lbs but that's including the 2weeks pre-op diet also. so it took more like 4 weeks. i'm sure you know all about those darn liquid diets, you'll drop fast. but then it slows down after your fill. well you're looking fabulous yourself, how are things going ?

Well the world spins fast and changes even faster. I went in today to have my lapband un-filled-Dr. Spiegel did NOT want another Dr. working on me. He pretty much insisted on me cxlng the surgery & scheduling with him. (I had NO idea he did other surgeries, but apparently all bariatric surgeons are/were general surgeons.) He said I will NOT need an un-fill before surgery, that if anesthisa decides I need a tube in my tummy - he will unfill it during surgery and fill it back up partially. :-) So, I called and cxled my surgery on Monday - we are planning on Tuesday morning at University General - the lovely, posh, swanky place downtown where I had my LB done. I have to have a referral put in and my bloodwork transferred, but if all goes as planned, I will have surgery on Tuesday. I am so excited Dr. S is going to be doing it. I totally LOVE him and I feel so much better knowing he will be doing it. Also, he can look at my LB and port and make any adjustments that I might need.

Hi, Chelsbels, I thought so. Finally figured it out when I went to her site. Hello, and good luck!! Hope you bug the insurance company next week and get some answers. Sometimes we need to do a bit of self-help. Sue is FANTASTIC, but she can only move them along so fast.

your family sounds like a smart family... the gf, well, you may need to help guide her a little... haha.
and thanks so much for thinking of me! i am doing well. i recovered really fast, or at least faster than i thought i would. i've just been doing a lot of walking with my parents since they are in town... but they both walk at a snail's pace so i don't think i am pushing it too much.
