Me!!! I have an IUD- Mirena. I haven't had a period in MONTHS like 8-12 months, I can't remember. Anyway, when I started the pre-op diet, immediately I started my period. And it wasn't the spotting (I know, TMI) that I've always experienced on Mirena. It lasted 7 days. Then, just like clockwork exactly one month later, started again- 10 days long this time. Weird!!

I do the same thing... i can't burp after a fill. It drives me crazy and then the gas has to go somewhere so I get bad gas pains in my lower intenstinse. Sittin in an office all day is not easy as you have to "hold' it in and that just makes it worse... I think the best part of my day is when I hit the car afterwork and just let loose! TMI I always giggle to myself as I am driving down the road and think if that person at the stop light next to me knew what was happening that would be so embarrassing:blushing: But I have noticed as soon as I am able to burp again, I can eat more and need a fill again. It has been averaging 3 weeks of restriction and then it get lose again... Not sure what to do about the gas, but I understand. If you come up with something that helps let me know... The only thing I have not tried is Beano... Has anyone tried this?

My next step is gonna be miralax... UNLESS ANYONE ELSE HAS ANY BRIGHT IDEAS... i am listening...

So this might be TMI, especially for the guys, but I'm having my first cycle since having surgery in Nov. I'm in so much pain, I can't get out of bed. I don't have PCOS and yes, I've had cramps but never this bad. I'm in pain almost everywhere in my body, extremely fatigued and almost feel like my blood sugar is low (shaky to the point where it feels like you are going to crawl out of your own skin). I've been doing ok keeping up with my fluids and protein this week so I really don't know what is going on. Has this happened to anyone else? It just doesn't seem normal to me as I've had bad cramps with all my cycles.

female only Most Painfull Period EVER! TMI probably...
IWannaBeSkinny posted a topic in The Gals' Room
Ok, I am now 3 months postop and my cycle was very weird right after being banded. There were about three weeks where I was constantly spotting and then three weeks with nothing. NOW I am having a VERY heavy period and I am hurting ALOT. I had to leave work early yesterday because I could barely stand and I called in today and just stayed in bed. I have a heating pad on and it is barely helping. Is this common after being banded? Will they all be like this? Or just this time? I am probably going to stay home tomorrow too. Especially if it is as heavy as it was today. Sorry, I now this is probably TMI, but thanks for reading. -
I really need lots of fibre to manage IBS and having no rectum and no " push" muscles but Metamucil, Benefibre, Normafibe, all of them give me tons if pain, bloating and gas. But LSA mix or just plain ground linseeds, absolutely fantastic - soft easy to pass stools without urgency or bloating. Sorry for TMI but when you've lost thtat part of your body and naturally produce something that looks like rabbit poo, to produce something larger than what the cat left in the litter box is cause for celebration!!!! I sprinkle on muesli, str into yogurt, use to make low carb minute muffins or alternatively, eat a big spoonful followed by a glass of Water.

I've been working out fr a while in my t-shirt and sweatpants. I feel like I finally need to buy some serious workout clothes. Sorry this might be TMI - I can't stand the jiggling and slapping sounds my loose skin makes while I am jumping around. I feel like I need something to hold it all in. Any suggestions what you wear while you are working out? and where to get them?

This is going to be a long post......and maybe TMI
kaninag posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel like I have to start from the beginning. I was banded back in 2008. I did fine for the first few years but needless to say over time I started developing reflux. I had my gallbladder removed because they felt like it was the problem. It ended up being my band. So I developed severe GERD and my band slipped. I had revision done March 3rd this year. First week was great, 7 days in my heart rate jumped to 160 and my BP dropped to 78/40. They checked me for a leak...no leak. WELL-- when I advanced my foods per my schedule I started to get fatigued after I eat...it went away until this past weekend. Friday I was going to the gym I think my blood sugar dropped because I felt clammy, numb, jittery. I felt better after I had eaten. I got a glucometer and about a hour after eating sugar (1/2 cooking Peanut Butter and teaspoon of sugar) my sugar was only 78 so I am not really sure how low it had gotten. before the sleeve I always had trouble with constipation. Not any more. And I thought I saw blood in my stool last week so this week I tested it and it is positive for blood. I got anxious after eating yesterday and I feel like all this crap is just causing me to be paranoid. I feel like its starting to cause me to have anxiety attacks because Im just afraid something is going to be wrong. I may even be getting depressed. I have felt ok since Saturday but Im just nervous...nervous that something is wrong. Maybe its my mind and I need to talk with a counselor or something but Im not sure what avenue to take at this point. Im probably over worrying because I was so afraid to have this surgery from the beginning just something about having part of your stomach removed. I have never had health issues like this. I have never had the feeling of impending doom like I did 7 days post op. I don't ever want to have that feeling again. Right now Im just thankful to have a forum I can kind of share my feelings with. My friends and family just get aggravated with me because I didn't tell them I was feeling bad sooner. I'm losing weight and I am happy about that but at the same point 2 1/2 months post op and I am regretting having this procedure. -
Hi ladies! Thursday, I started having these terrible stomach pains. I couldn't figure out what the problem was then I thought perhaps It's diarrhea. So I went to the bathroom and low and behold BAM it all came out like a ton of bricks. However, my stomach continued to have pain so I have in an out of the bathroom all day at work. I then started to worry Bc I knew something wasn't right. I looked up the leak signs and I didn't have any of those besides the stomach pains. So I figured it wasn't that. I continued to sit on the toilet and waste continued to come out. Then I realized. Omg I've felt this feeling before! But I couldn't remember what the feeling was. I just equated it to having terrible diarrhea. I knew I was backed up and havent gone #2 in quite a while. Yesterday I went to the bathroom and I wiped myself and saw blood on the toilet paper but still didn't think anything of it. My panties were dark so although I could tell there was something wet in them I couldn't see what color it was so I honestly thought I hadn't wiped myself good enough after going #2. I know tmi! Sorry. I took a shower and took some pepto bismol and stomach pains went away. 2AM this morning, I wake up to stomach pains. Which I realize are cramps! Again I'm still thinking I have To go #2 and it mus be stuck in my intestine so I planned on taking milk of magnesia this AM to wipe it out. I roll over deal with the pain and go to sleep. I wake up at 7AM. And I feel like I have to go urinate. I get up and as I'm walking to the bathroom I feel something comin out of my vagina. I start to panick thinking something is wrong with my kidney Bc I'm gettin ready to urinate on myself and I can't hold it. I reach the toilet pull my undies down and there it is..... The cycle!!! Omg. I can't believe I have my period. I've only had one period in my life and it was in jan of 2008. I have pcos and I'm 26 years old so i really don't know anything about this stuff. I was supposed to go on Bc to regulate it but I really didn't want to take it so I refused. Then my dr told me that I should reconsider Bc not having a period naturally isn't good for me and it can potentially cause cervical cancer and infertility. Fearful of becoming infertile i figured I would start Bc next year. I wanted to focus on losing weight this year and not have some pill hold me back. (I heard Bc could potentially make u gain weight). Plus I never wanted a period anyway. I found it and still find it to be disgusting. Lol. But if I have to go through this to be a mom I'm willing to do it. Anyway, I so happy I got my period. I was sleeved on July 17 and am 60lbs down. My sleeve has already reversed my diabetes and now it's working on my pcos!!! I'm so grateful. Glory to be to God. Thank you lord. I'm so happy to know that I am officially ovulating and shedding the lining or whatever the medical terminology is called. Lol. So my question is does anyone know the direct correlation between going #2 and your period? I swear I thought I was having a s*it attack. Lol. I love my sleeve! It's changing my life and reversing my health problems. Prayerfully it will do the same for YOU!! Thanks for "listening"!

Port dislocation
SlimbandSexy replied to BaileyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BaileyRose - Wow!! How scary was that!? I am glad that your surgeon got there right away and was able to put the tubing back and sew you back up. That is such a relief! I thought you'd have had to have another surgery - thank goodness we were both wrong! Thanks for asking about my infection. I took the last of my antibiotics yesterday morning and so far it looks good. The skin still has a couple of pink spots but they seem to be diminishing (more like scarring or bruising) and there is just a tiny bit of pink around the incision - doesn't look like infection though. The part of the incision that opened a little bit (not fully, just on the surface) has continued to drain but that seems to be slowing down a lot and it looks like it is closing up. I will keep an eye on it for the next couple of days then I will be going back to the surgeon to see if he is happy with it so far. I am hoping that I don't have to take any more antibiotics because they have given me a wicked yeast infection. Sorry, TMI. -
Help! Several Questions.....sorry But Need Advice.
want2look&feelbetter posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry in advance! I was sleeved on April 17. I've lost somewhere between 15-20lbs. :-) This is my week of full liquids. Wednesday I can do soft diet for 2 weeks. I'm at a turning point and have several questions. Please answer any one you can. I need all the help I can get. 1. Are full liquids eating, i.e. no drinking for 30-90 minutes after? 2. Is Jello considered eating? 3. Can I drink broth all day? Is there a difference between chicken and beef? 4. I don't like artificial sugar for the sugar free diet. How can I compensate? 5. How do I keep the momentum going with the weight loss? I'm starting to feel hunger, but can't eat. I'm worried about going into starvation now that I'm actually feeling hungry and it working backwards for me. I'm also afraid that when I do start eating it will either stop the weight loss or go backwards because of the previous "starvation". Momentum, momentum, momentum, I want to keep it rolling. 6. I'm having a hard time watching my family eat. It grosses me out the food intake not so much with my growing boys, but especially with my husband who is going to have the surgery also. I feel like....."hey do you realize how much food you eat and I'm over here drinking broth all day long! Get control of yourself." Yikes, I know. So sorry, but it's true. This is emotional. You don't realize the emotions that you will go through in this life changing journey. 7. TMI Warning!! I am on the Depo shot and I have been spotting ever since the surgery - 12 days. I never have a period if I do it a day or two of lite spotting. This is every time I wipe, not fresh but old if you know what I mean. Sorry again. Could something in the surgery have messed with my shot or what are your thoughts on this? I do not want to get pregnant! 8. I'm starting to feel normal and that scares me a little. When I could feel the soreness and restriction (no hunger), it made it easier to not eat and be great with it. Now, it's like appetite is coming back. I'm scared of gaining. Other diets have worked opposite for me and I don't want this to also. I'm scared of any change or move! I feel like I have to starve myself to keep this going. :-( 9. Life evolved around cooking, eating out, social eating, etc. I've halted all of that and feel a little trapped. No one except immediate family, i.e. husband, sons, and girlfriend who went to hospital with me know that I have done this. I don't lie and would have a hard time explaining why I'm not eating, drinking alcohol, participating in the activities this early in my post surgery. So we are using our workload right now as a reason for staying home, etc. There's so much there for me right now. My husband is extremely supportive and wants me to do the same for him when he has the surgery. Sorry rambling but trying to get through the emotional/mental part of it. 10. I'm still bloated and tend to bloat throughout the day. Is this normal or what can I do to alleviate this? 11. I know I don't get enough liquids in as I can't drink Water. Any liquid suggestions would be great. 12. I can already tell that my absorption rate is super sensitive and high! Within seconds of trying something, I either feel sick, lightheaded or full or all of the above. Does this stay? When food is introduced will it be one bite at a time? 13. I think Protein shakes make me sick?? I know I'll have more, but here's a start. Thanks for your patience. Thanks to anyone and everyone for replying. It's wonderful to have a great resource like this board to be able to utilize.- 4 replies

Tmi? - Ladies - Anyone Else Have Period Problems Post-Op?
legal loser posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved last Tuesday. They didn't let me take my birth control while I was in the hospital (2 nights). Doctor gave me the okay to resume taking them on Thursday night when I got home. He didn't tell me I need to crush them or anything since they were small enough. Despite having my period the week before surgery, I started spotting on Friday and feel like I've been having a mini-period ever since, despite taking the birth control regularly. Anyone else have this problem? If it's not resolved itself tomorrow, I think I'm calling the doctor's office to figure out what the deal is because this is annoying and frustrating. -

I'm feeling a little light headed and dizzy today...could this be that I am just really hungry or is this normal with your cycle after being banded.

Yes, there is much less total volume going into your digestive tract so you're gonna poop less. Although (TMI) I know that the day after I had a BM I'm going to see a loss on the scale

Help! Struggling to be ready for pre-op diet
LanaMae replied to mamamareli's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm now POPD4 and feeling fatigued, but overall pretty good. I've had no problems keeping protein shakes down 2 oz. at a time, but sipping on anything throughout the day is difficult. I just don't feel like putting anything in my mouth. I'm happy to say I finally had a BM last night and today (sorry if TMI, but I was worried about constipation with sore abdominal muscles!!!). Unlike others, it's actually helped me to look up recipes for the future. Doctor has me on water and shakes only for two weeks, but looking and planning on future "meals" is helping me through this phase. -
I'm preop and I wanted to go on the liquid diet that I will be on 2 weeks before my surgery. I stayed on it for a full week, WOW! It was so painful, I didn't go for 5 days!!! It was bad!! I have had 3 children and all three were easier than that! I had to use suppositories, sorry TMI!!! So my recommendation is to have all of those thing on hand, when I do it before my surgery I will take maralax everyday! I drink over 100 oz of water everyday day and that didn't even help!! I hope it's easier next time! I meet my Surgeon this Thursday!! Yay!!!

Pre-op diet hunger is gone, now the cravings are starting...
Terry Poperszky replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm doing better than I expected. Heating pad took care of the arm pain, incisions are a bit tender but not bad at all. I am just getting used to the new feelings of what happens when I swallow something, that and learning how to burp again (TMI). Did 30 minutes on the treadmill with no problems, so I will probably hit it a couple of more times today. How are things on day 5? -

I know this is TMI but I'm pretty much peeing out of my *ss I have been in bed all day haven't Ate anything just water & hot teas I feel really nauseous -
My surgery went well the 15th. Took a little longer just because they were doing a few other things while in there. But I must say it was rougher than I thought. I literally heaved. Dry heaved all afternoon and night. And that was very painful. Nothing helped. Didn't stop feeling sick until Wed afternoon. so didn't get to come home until late thursday. No pain per say. tender but tolerable. so I honestly ahve not taken any pain meds. Mine as been more belly bublling around feelings, occassional bubbly pain up under my breast bone. And I know may be TMI but nothing but ' peeing " out my hiney. That is real old. Only on liquids and Protein shakes until I see doc Fri. Having a hard time getting all fluids in. Because I am afraid o doing to much at a time. Weight wise. I started at 278. Pre op 265.8. A of this morning 257.4. Hard way to lose weight. LOL I did have the gas pains on my left neck shoulder area. They didn't completely go away until Thursday. Blowing blood out my left notril from the NG tube during surgery. guess they were a little rough there. Looking for advice on what first mush food to try first when I can.

4 mo post- bloating and constipation
GinaFigz posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, hope everyone is well. sorry if it’s TMI...but I don’t know what Is ok to do besides increasing water. Btw, I always have a water bottle with me and drink often. I’m thinking of taking a stool softener. Any other recommendations? I’m watching my portions and focus on protein and struggle to get in fruits/veggies. I’m just wondering if others go through this. Thanks! -
The last 2 days I've been nauseas, dry heaving, diarrhea ( sorry TMI). I dont know if it's my sleeve or the stomach flu? I also have had on and off pain on my left side that travels to middle. ( kinda pulsing pain) It goes away and comes back? The day it started I ate half an egg, 1 slice bacon and 2 bites of hash brown, at lunch I had a cup of clam chowder. When I had lunch I was feeling nauseas and thought I had to eat. I was waking up in goose bumps and sweat running to the bathroom. I was sleeved 4/10 (6 weeks) Anyone had this? I'm miserable and today I'm slowly eating...but I did have a couple sips of seven up.
