    NSV!

Tonight I went to thd gym intending to do a routine workout (35 min elliptical & some resistance machines) when one of the girls who works there kept badgering me about Zumba class. So I was all 'I'll think about it while Im on the elliptical.' I didn't want to go because I was scared I wouldnt be able to finish the whole hour. After my 35 min on the elliptical were up I grudgingly went to look at the Zumba class. Not only did I look, I participated and FINISHED the class!!! Wouldnt have been able to do that 55 + pounds ago!!! Loving my sleeve!!!!
  2. I'm in tears.... I haven't been able to wear my wedding band in years!

SV or NSV moment at the gym

I completely understand. I dont know how I was able to lug around an extra 76 pounds for all those years. Im only 5'4 so no wonder my poor back would cuss me out every day. Not to mention my poor feet. I dont know if I could even lift what Ive lost. Its astonishing what we became used to. I used to go bike riding with my hubby pre-op and there was this one teeny tiny hill that I would struggle with right? So a couple of days ago I got back on the bike (I had to lay off the exercise due to having hernia surgery a month ago) and we did our same path and after the hill my hubby asked "so how was that hill?" I said "what hill?" cause I didnt know what he was talking about until he told me I used to huff and puff to get up that itsy bitsy hill. Plus my butt didnt hurt from the bike seat like it used to. I love NSV's!

    NSV.. Happy Boobs!!!

Awesome, NSV! I am down to 36 dd. They measure me at 34 c, but I find they squash my flabby boobs, 36 dd makes the most of the flab without me falling out!(from 2 kids, 100 lbs, and 64 years of age).
  6. After I finished my C25k run today at the gym I was looking for something else to do as a cool down. I walked by the dumb bell rack, and saw a 60lb dumb bell. I wrestled that beast off the bottom of the rack and went over to the scale. I stepped up and with it I weighed 257. The owner of the gym whose also a good friend walked by and saw what I was doing, he asked me if that was what I weighed before. No, I weighed 3 lbs more than this. Gotta a high five for it....felt good! Damn that thing was heavy too...
  7. I am sooooo excited!!! 50 pounds ago I could not find a comfortable bra. I had basically given up and only wore one when I absolutely had to because they were so miserable. I squeeeeezed into a 44DD because it was so hard to find a 46DD. Well about 5-6 weeks ago I was able to buy 40DD and they were SOOOOO comfortable. I had to wear them on the loosest notch but they felt great! ALL DAY EVEN!! Over the last couple weeks I had to switch to the tightest notch and now that I have lost even more weight I can no longer wear these 40DDs that I just bought!! I am super comfy in a 38DD!!! I AM ELATED!!! Hooray for happy, comfy boobs!!!

    Blood sugar NSV

I'm celebrating right along with you! I had a blood sugar NSV today of 88 (with no insulin last night)! Doing the happy dance...love seeing results from good healthy choices!!!
  10. This morning's blood sugar level: 98! Very good!
  11. I hate to hear that so many of us are experiencing stalls (including me) but I'm so happy in that I am not alone -- I was so afraid that I was messing something up and was alone in that! I did not do a pre-op diet and I lost 28 pounds in the week after surgery. Since then I've only lost about 2-3 pounds (depends on the days I've weighed). I know that I'm losing inches though because I can fit in clothes that I could not when I got home from surgery but it's still frustrating to not see those numbers move on the scale. I'm trying to stay positive by tracking my NSV's -- which I've had a few -- but it's so hard remaining upbeat when I go to weigh every couple of days and I end up yelling "Seriously!" in not a nice way at my scale.

    LADIES CAN WE TALK? :-)

I noticed my face thinning... the boobs were already hanging! Congrats on your NSV! Great news!
  13. All right, I still don't see a weight loss on me personally but can this count as an NSV: I'n walking (yes walking, no mobility cart, yay!), I come across the lingerie section. I'm looking at bras and basically I could never get a strapless bra because I was a 46C. Well, I'n looking at the strapless bras because I have a halter sundress that I can't wear in public because let's face it, size 46C boobs jiggle. Well, I guess I'm losing weight even though I don't see it. My new bra size is 42C! It's always the boobs that go first lol. Oh, and I was able to wear a short sleeve button down shirt that I couldn't get passed my elbow before. So my question ladies is this, what did you notice on your body that you lost weight in first. For me it was the boobs lol!

    Weight loss goal?

My personal goal is 145. My PCP would be very happy if I was 180. I've got a ways to go to get to ONEderland. I weighed in at 222 this morning and I only lost 3 lbs this month. I'm frustrated over the slow weight loss but at least I'm losing. My PCP does not think I'm losing enough per month but my surgeon feels I'm doing well. My vitals are all excellent not just good but excellent. My cholesterol count is in ONEderland, it used to be 215, my sugar is good and even got taken off of diabetic medicine. My heart rate is 70 and my BP is like 113/70, so my health has improved immensely. So that's a NSV I'm proud of. Now if I could just get in ONEderland with my weight lol!

    Grrr... Day 11

Ok I feel like a total failure today. I'm lightheaded Yesterday I felt great!! Today I am right back to the light headedness When does this get better? I am going to look into the vertigo meds that were suggested the other day, but I was soo happy yesterday, I felt absolutely wonderful! I woke up feeling great, ate some cottage cheese, then boom... the vertigo/light headedness sets in. SMDH.. Ugh! But on the plus side...kinda, My shorts are usually very snug, but yesterday I could pull them off and on without even unbuttoning them! I was like YEAAAAH!! So this morning I figured I would hop on the scale (after my bm of course) to see what happiness the scale was going to show..... NOT. A. DAMN. CHANGE. I know, I know. This is an NSV. Before the shorts were snug on me and I had to unbutton them to go to the bathroom, now I can just ''pull them down'' and they are loose. That is a good thing, and yes you can lose inches without losing weight. I know that. It's just frustrating because I feel I hardly eat ANYTHING and it's not showing where I want it to. I think I am going to go back to using myfitnesspal so I can keep track of how many calories I am eating. Oh and to top it off, we have no water in our house. The city that I live in decided that we have a leak somewhere in my neighborhood and shut the water off. No warning, no nothing. Just don't flush!! Boy I am just a ray of freaking sunshine this morning huh? I will try to amend this post this evening with something positive that's happened today... but until them BLAH!
  16. First NSV for me! I bought a pair of 7s for all mankind capris last year and promptly grew out of them. They fit now. Starting to really feel the difference. More motivated than ever!

    How about some NSVs!?!?

My very first NSV! I've been living in the same two loose dresses for the last two weeks due to incisions and rash. I go back to work tomorrow and have to wear real clothes again, so I just went upstairs to figure out what I'm wearing. All my 2x are too big and my 1x fit!!!!! (I had dragged out my 1x clothes a few weeks ago in anticipation of losing.) So I bagged up the big stuff and put them in my car - I'll dump them in the donation box on the way to work. So NOT sorry to see them go! :-) :-) :-) :-)
  20. Hi guys! Another NSV- this is me in my new size 14 Cue jacket I got on sale from Myer (70% off- woot)!! I had just said to my mum on the drive to Toowoomba that this was my next goal I need a new one lol
  21. So I ran into a friend I have not seen in about a year and she told me she didn't recognize me because I was so tiny. I have never been called tiny!!!! I'm only 2 months post op and have lost 40 lbs, so I still have a long way to go, but this just made my day. The scale means nothing. It's about how you look and feel. Here's to many more victories!

    Early morning NSV!

CONGRATULATIONS! what does NSV stand for?
  23. This is a weird one, but I can link it directly to the surgery. I used to bite my nails. I had gotten it a bit under control, but still had issues. Now I'm not biting my nails, because I don't want to accidentally swallow a sharp bit and maybe hurt my sleeve!
  24. Congratulations on your bandiversary and NSV! Keep up the good work!

    Motivation.... Day 8

I have none this morning, the most exciting thing I have done this morning was download the blogger app to my phone. I do not want to get out of bed, I do not want to go ''start the day''. I think it started yesterday, wait, actually yesterday I had motivation. I got up, took a nice long shower and felt so wonderful!! I went to the Dr. too. Got cleared off bed rest, got cleared to drive, found out when I could start exercising, when I can start water aerobics, and got cleared off the clear liquid diet I think its a little soon, but I have introduced yogurt and last night I introduced soup...YES SOUP. I had chicken and potato soup, bullet'ed, strained, and 1/2 cup. OMG it was soo good, I was full but gassy the rest of the night so I think I am going to reign it back in some and stick with the yogurt and some blander foods before going back to a richer soup again. I slept good last night! Which is a big plus. I have avoided the scale. When I went in to see the Dr. yesterday I didn't look on the scale to see what it says, I don't wanna know yet. I think I want to concentrate on NSV (Non Scale Victories) before I start stressing over what the scale says. My fingers feel thin today, I know that sounds strange but my fingers don't feel swollen I guess is a better way to say it. Well the chickens and Ducks wait for no woman so I am going to get up and get moving. Hope everyone has a great day!! Write tomorrow.
