    NSV - 17.1 MPH for 26 miles

For those of you not following the biking banders thread. Ok, perfect day for a ride and a NSV, last year I struggled to maintain 15 MPH average for 10 miles and never made it, 14.9 was the closest I came. Since being banded in January I was able to break that goal early this year, and on today's ride I maintained 17.1 MPH average for 26.29 miles. Time: 1:32, avg. speed 17.1, distance 26.29, calories 1334

  3. Major NSV: I got my @ss kicked by some awesome roller coasters last night at Universal Studios. I didn't even need the larger seats on the ride.

    A New Day

A quick hi-bye... Home safely from Ft. Benning, it was an emotionally taxing trip. We were able to visit with Seth and Jay. There were many tears and hugs...and it is difficult to even type this. I have to be in Asheville by 9:30 for imaging study for my band. We will get on the road again by 7:30. Really looking forward to meeting Terri, Diane, and Franc, I hope. Otherwise Jack will feel out of place! Janet...wonderful NSV like Dawn posted. So very happy for you! 'Nite all...big hugs...

    The 5:2 diet

Okay, BIG NSV and on a Fast day! Have you ever fed 50 people big, fat meatball laden with sauce and Parmesan cheese on an empty stomach? Well, I HAVE, lol. My month to feed the homeless shelter for my life group and luckily, didn't have time to even sniff them! And we ran out so there were no leftovers! (All got fed- seconds were given out). Yaay, to me! Now, where is my Lean Cuisine? And then I still have about another 150 left over to eat in a hurry since it is 7pm!

    A New Day

That's awesome Janet!!!! Sounds like a HUGE NSV and a great day!!
  8. The bra. I need to wear a "real" bra tonight as I am going to our school districts board of directors meeting to meet the new Principal of my school. I've been living in my comfy sports bra and comfy pants. Shoot...real pants too. Eek! Haha! On a side note, I guess this is a NSV, my school (horribly uncomfortable because it was too dang tight) shirt fit a bit better today. Only a few days post op. Feeling good...
  9. It's been 5 days since I have written and well as the top post implies, it has been an EXCITING 2 days. And not in a good way. My daughter has a dog named Tank, beautiful white pit bull puppy, he is about 6 months old. Well he has been feeling punk the past few days, and my daughter was very worried. She doesn't have the money so I told her I would pay for him to go to the vet. We figured he just had garbage gut (he LOVES to knock over trash cans and see what booty they have in store) Well a fecal exam later and he has parvo. Talk about freak out time, they wanted 500 dollars up front to keep him and shes in tears. I'm trying to call Bret to get the ok to use the funds, she gets a hold of her bff who works at another vet's office, and they said for 200 deposit they would keep him. Now the only problem with that is we are an hour away...and of course they close in 45 minutes. I think I broke every speed barrier to get him to that vet's office. Now what has me freaking out is she brought him over only 2 days before this, and he and my newest addition were playing, and they were in the same kennel. My baby Tildy is current on all her shots, but she only had 2 of the parvo shots, she was scheduled to get the third one next week. I called my vet and we went and got the shot today. Plus her rabies and bordetella. And we set up the appointment to come back in three weeks to get another booster to be on the safe side and to have her spayed. She is 3 days from the day of exposure and I have to watch until Monday. If she shows no symptoms by Monday she should be good to go. She's being her usual active self, but I am soo paranoid I am afraid I am over watching her. We just got a call from the vet, Tank is reacting well with the medications, he's alert, he's active, and he has not thrown up since yesterday. (He never had the diarrhea, thank God) and they are moving him from ISO to another area (its still isolation but a little more friendly) He has to be kept calm because he has tried to remove his IV now twice from being excited. So we are guardedly optimistic. If he keeps improving the way he's going, he will be able to come home by Thursday. But he cannot go ''visiting'' for a looong while. Yesterday we bleached my entire house. Twice. We also bleached my front steps and back steps and porches. Today I did the back yard... and I have not finished it yet. But I got most of it. I have to go get another water hose and I also have to go get more bleach. I have a large back yard and so far I have used 1 and a half big bottles of bleach on the area's I can reach with the hose. I still have to do my front yard and the rest of the back. It's also 90+ degrees outside so I think I am going to wait a little longer to let it cool off. I let my dogs out (I have 5 total, but the others are all over a year old and up to date on all their shots) and I kept them in the area that I had already sprayed. Now its time for lunch...haha the real reason for my blog. That my dear friends is 8oz. of Chef Prepared Turkey salad with Cranberries (thats what the little dark things are, its not rabbit poo) I was very skeptical at first but omg it was really tasty, and only 215 calories according to MFP. I am still boycotting the scales, I do have a NSV. I have a pair of capris I bought a while back. They are size 20W and they were suuuper tight. I have them on right now and they are LOOSE! Anyways I will keep you updated TTFN
  10. NSV: Slightly jogging up the 45 steps from the beach to the cabin at the lake...and not getting out of breath!

    June surgeries!

We're packing to move so the first thing I did was pack that stupid scale. I'm just gonna do what I'm supposed too, work on protein/fluid daily, and go by NSVs until I'm better healed. That darn scale was seriously bumming my joy.
  12. AS of today I am off all of my diabetes and Blood Pressure meds! WOOOOHOOOO... almost more exciting than the weight loss... i did this for health...and its working!

    NSV!

I took my kids (ages 4 and 6) on a float trip yesterday! 50 pounds ago you could not have convinced me to get in a canoe! We had soooo much fun. Just thinking about the memories that I am making with my kids now brings me to tears! No more hiding in the house and wasting life. I look forward to each new day!

    Bittersweet NSV

Sorry about the bittersweet NSV...would be so nice if we could pick where and how the weight comes off...I embraced separates just for that reason...is the reverse issue you have with tops, but nevertheless, is nice to pick a top and bottom independent of each other

    Bittersweet NSV

I put my swimsuit on yesterday. Back in March while I was in California and Mexico it was super snug. I had to wiggle my way in and out. Yesterday it was loose and baggy. Extra baggy up top. :-( It frustrates me that many plus sized swimsuits are designed assuming the plus sized woman has a large bust. I just don't. And what little I have is disappearing with every pound. I was pleased at the apparent weight loss but saddened by just how unfeminine I felt in my swimsuit.
  18. Good for you! I am writing this poolside as I have my own little NSV...feels good, doesn't it :-)
  19. And I wore a bathing suit! Lost 30 lbs total...what a difference that made! Still have 50 lbs to go...this is a blessing for all of us!

    Tomorrow

Keep on trucking! Most of us slow down at about that time period. Keep your eye on how the clothes fit and all your NSVs to get you through the slow downs. Sounds like you are doing wonderful!

    Tomorrow

So tomorrow is my 2 month bandiversary! i feel like i have come a long way.. the way i feel.. how i eat... how my clothes feel.. i recently went back to work on June 10th and while the scale is still moving it has gone slower.. so i said to myself okay.. that's prolly normal, give my body time to catch up or something... I have had a few NSV's at work to make up for it and well just simply amaze me and some of my co -workers... I am able to get up with my alarm and get to work.. not feeling as tired or sluggish before... one of our providers told me friday "Jen you need to buy new shirts these are swimming on you" .. and the best accomplishment yet.. we have a set of stars that are two full sets.. before i would huff n puff and have to stop to catch my breath so i avoided them like the plague... i got up them with not so much huff and puff! I love it! The little things definitely help keep my motivated and once again i stop to ask myself "why didn't i do this sooner!" Thanks for letting my post my wonderful accomplishments thus far!! What are yours?

My very first NSV crept up on me!

So this week has been pretty hard, but yesterday I realized some of my pain is already gone, and that's amazing! For a couple of months I had been getting bad, all-day-all-night pain in both hips/thighs, almost like a constant muscle soreness except minus the exercise that usually causes that sort of thing. When I was making my list of NSVs for the first time, I put that one up top. It was so bad some days I felt hobbled, and I'm 26. I didn't know what it was, but I wanted it gone. Yesterday I stood up to walk around and realized that I had just stood up with no. Pain. Not only that, but I had BEEN standing up with no pain all day, and my relatively pain-free state has thus far continued. HELL YES. As hard as this first week is, I have this little victory to hang on to. My other little victories/goals, scale and non-scale, in the rough order in which I hope to achieve them: Get below 250. I've been above 250 for a year. Start a series of every-morning pictures when I go back to work. Fit into my favorite pants again (the size 18s that had started to hurt when I wore them) Get below 230. I've been over 230 for a year and a half. Find an exercise I like! Get below 220. I've been over 220 for three years. Buy NEW favorite pants ;] Review my series of every-day pictures: six-month mark Have my ankles and knees not ache every 8 hour standing shift I do at work. Get below 210, which I haven't been under since I started college in 2005. Donate most of my too-big clothes. (keeping some for comparison!) Feel -- not even see, just feel! -- my hip bones again. I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE GUYS. Get below 200. I've been over 200 lbs since 17. Fit into a pair of size 14 pants. Get below 190. My lowest weight ever in my adult life was 187 at 16 years old, and I looked good. It's a shame I didn't know how good I looked, actually, but that's what you get when you're a slightly body-dysmorphic teenager. Sure, I was still pudgy, but I was awesome pudgy and I should have flaunted. CELEBRATE THAT ****. Get below 180 -- uncharted territory! GOAL: 175-170

  25. So I am only 11 days post op but have had 2 great things happen today. I put on a pair of shorts that haven't fit in over a year and they are perfect! And I bent over and tied my shoe in the middle and didn't have to pull my foot up to my knee to do it!! And my scale victory is that I am down 24 pounds!!!
