Today I weighed in at 220.4. So I lost 1.6 lbs this week. My total weight loss is at 25.6 lbs. I'm glad I hit the 25 lb mark and now my goal is to be out of the 220's (FOREVER!). On average (since surgery) I am losing 2.6 lbs a week. I am in a 1x comfortably in tops (I have a NSV - non scale victory - of fitting into several tops that I kept but I could barely get into on the 1x side). My pants are probably an 18 and a half (but since they don't make that size I am wearing 20's and some 18's). I bought a pair of 18W white jean capri yesterday at Kohols that i will have to "strech out" before wearing and I bought the CUTEST linen tops in XL from the women's section and I think I can get away with them if I wear a compression tank underneath (or strech them). If not I'll wear them when I start to go down to the XL size (they were that cute The only planned exersize I got this week was dancing in a Zumba flash mob this past Saturday (fun but boy do I look HUGE on the video). I've collected quite a bit of small containers and make my Bento lunch each day. I like that I can snack all day by just grabbing one (I usually have four containers). The other day I had greek vanilla yogurt in one 4 oz container. Go lean crunch cereal in a 1 oz container to mix into the yogert, a 4 oz container of cottage cheese, a 4 oz container of hamburger with mac and cheese, a 4 oz container of marinated cucumber, onion, green pepper mix. It was an eclectic mix but I ate them so spaced out that it didn't bother me. I am currently contemplating joining the Y for $50 a month to go to the aerobics classes and to use the pool for lap swimming. Part of me wants to start a walking program first at home using my zillion Walk Away the Pounds tapes first and then join the Y when school gets out and I have a more flexible schedule. I still need to work on remembering that I have had the surgery so that I stop grabbing larger portions of food that I can't eat AND remembering to eat on a pretty regular schedule. Yesterday I had breakfast and didn't eat again until 3:00 p.m. I was STARVING (I was shaking and the start of a headache was kicking in) and wolfed down some rolls at a restarant and was so sick until I walked around until I felt better (thank goodness...the person I was with was worried about me.). My lesson learned from that experience was to pack a protein bar when I know I am not going to be eating for awhile and to not start with the bread basket! Attached is a picture of me in my Zumba Flash Mob tshirt. Until next week!

#1 this has to do with the bad. After you lose the weight you have to have NSV. #2 if you dont like the topic dont read it. So YES this is an experience and a journey that I want to take after losing all the weight. gosh people make me sick when they dont like something they have to stop others when they have full complete control over what they click on, listen to or read.

One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?
Zoe replied to Zoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here's a summary, as far as I understand it. Greg and Becky, you may have different ideas. Anyone interested will weigh in on Monday, Nov. 22, & send a PM to Greg. Then we just start exercising like fiends. Check in on the thread on Mondays if you can & report your exercise for the last week. The challenge runs through Monday, Jan. 3, when we'll report our final weights, and also tell how we're feeling and any NSVs (inches lost, muscle gained, blood pressure down, construction workers whistling, etc.). I don't know if the winner should be chosen based on most exercise, most weight lost, or best description of Greg in his thong Speedo; I leave that up to wiser heads. -
Best Nsv Ever - Made My Day!

Susan~ That is an awesome NSV! You have done an amazing job and you are just a twinkle from goal! I am gonna watch for your goal post I am sure it will be soon! -
I am sure many of you that are further along on our journey have had a friend or family member call you "skinny" as a sweet compliment to your weight loss. It has happened to me a couple of times over the past year. Well, I knew I was far from it still but I just smiled and said "Thank you". Well, yesterday morning on the way to church, I was riding in the back seat with my 4 yr old (not normal) and commented how much room there was back there now. My son, as with most kids at this age, is brutally honest. He stated that I fit so well because I was SKINNY. Skinny? Me? Really? Wow, it is so awesome that my son sees me like that way. I am not the fat mom any more. Yay!!

thanks again Gowalking...then I had a NSV this morning...put my shorts that I wear over my swimsuit and they were loose...is that a NSV. I couldn't get a full mile in the pool done this morning due to a car issue...but I was able to increase the reps of my leg exercises (that I did after my knee replacement surgeries that I now do in the pool) up 10 reps now...so I will do alittle extra walking today at work on land...love love love the pool though...LOLRH!!! Have a great day GoWalking!!!

How do you spell PLATEAU??? H-E-L-P !!!
dawg replied to NancySmiles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Pla.. Pluto...Plate-o...pl... P... Oh... here we go... Plato. And... more seriously. food is half the equation. Don't forget the activity. If you are exercising you may be doing some weight re-distribution. NSV's may abound while the scales stay obstinate. And if you aren't exercising... tsk tsk tsk :xena_banana::Banane03::Banane20: ....obey the Bananas and get moving! -
Sunday I became the Mrs. to my best friend! The day was everything I could ever want thanks to my VSG surgery 8 months ago. I was able to hold my head up high, have energy for the days events, and actually feel like a pretty bride instead of an embarrassed-about-my-weight bride. My new husband deserves the best me I can give him and I feel like this surgery is allowing me to offer that. Thank you to all the people on this forum who have shared their experiences, offered support, and cheered for me along the way. Oh Happy Day!!!

Some friends and my husband went to Cheesecake Factory last night. Don't get excited, I scoured the nutritionals and finally found a appetizer salad for 390 cal. It was not easy to find something if you go there but it was very good. Now to my NSV. My husband and I were sitting in the booth part of a table that had two chairs and no one was sitting next to me on my side. Later I needed to go to the rest room. I carefully got up and before weight loss I had to turn sideways and be very careful that my big butt did not land on the other people's table. Last night I walked out straight on. No sideways, no getting in people's food. It was great.

I've had little NSVs, like fitting into my jeans again. But today I tried on an outfit that hasn't fit me in four years and I look better in it now than I did then I'm so glad I tried it on today as my weight loss had really slowed down, which I know is normal, but still made me a little sad. Height - 6'3" HW - 140kg or 310lbs SW - 132.5kg or 291lbs CW - 118kg or 259lbs GW 80kg or 175lbs Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am no longer obese. I am officially overweight. My starting BMI was 41.2 and I am now 29.7 with a 70 lb weightloss! This was a major goal for me to reach!

Hi all... I had to share a NSV... Today is my birthday & my 2 month band anniversary... one of the gifts My hubby got me was a pair of nice jammies from the "normal" store... They are an XL but they fit!! They would have never fit 2 months ago!! I am sooooooooooooooo excited!!! I can not wait to say goodbye to the plus stores!

My daughter asked me to go to the shopping mall with her yesterday. I hesitated, thinking, "nope, not able to do this". Well, I, decided to give it a try. Have n't been in the mall, let alone able to walk around one in more than three years. I did it! We had so much fun!!! Loving life, loving my sleeve, loving me!!! P.S.- Think I'll start posting my NSV's on my fridge, to keep motivated!

Katie--don't feel bad--I had to ask the same thing when I first joined these boards. The other one I didn't know was NSV--which I found out means Non-scale victory. By the way, PBing is also called sliming sometimes--nasty huh? Thank goodness I haven't had any actually experience with that!

Yes and I think it's a great NSV ...time to go shopping heyyyy

That is funny:) Pants falling down is definatly a NSV!

I Reached My Next Goal!
kimmy*custis replied to kimmy*custis's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was just told nsv means non-scale victory...I thought it meant new sleeve victory...sorry about that! Either way, it is a victory for me! I changed the post a bit! -
Awesome job! Being outside and doing something you enjoy is a NSV so add that to your list also.
-
Thanks for the comments. It was my 1st NSV and I felt excited and embarrased at the same time.

So I have been sick since Friday and that totally sucks but as of this afternoon my BMI is 29.9 and I am officially no longer obese. I have lost 90 lbs since 12/12/12 and I am only 30-35lbs away from my goal and I am not scheduled to be there until 12/12/13. Just keeping an eye out for my silver lining. lol

Weirdest things you are looking forward to after surgery
BoredFatGirl replied to Krestel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I imagine that all of our NSVs would be considered 'weird' to those who are already in-shape. 🤭 Nevertheless, here are some weird things that I am looking forward to: Being able to cross my legs femininely. Being able to shop at a store that doesn't carry plus size clothing. Being able to feel confident about myself/body in front of people who aren't family or close friends. Being able to sleep without my CPAP machine (cya later, sleep apnea)! Being able to walk through IKEA (or even stand long enough to do the dishes) without needing a break. Being able to wrap a normal sized towel around my body. Being able to conceive and have a healthy full-term pregnancy. Being able to be more active and have more fun with my stepchildren. I am sure there are a ton more NSVs that I can't wait to achieve, though! -
