Two weeks ago I had a good NSV by fitting into a 18 size skinny jeans thinking they wouldnt fit and did. This week a new middle number has been recorded. On my way to a 60 pound lost. Feeling better that I can ever remember when I weighed this much over 20 years ago. I'm so motivated right now and can only pray this continues. Have a good week all!!!

Don't worry about the scales....you need to focus on NSV (none scale victories) for example loose clothing....I have went from a size 50-52 and is currently wearing 40-42, but I still want to lose more weight. Be encouraged!

So im at a christmas party , at my best friends home. His wife who has supported me and I are talking about clothes shopping. I like talking about thrift shopping and my latest finds ( got a pair of dress pants, gorgeous ones, from goodwill the other day, 4.99, they were from Barney's of New York and had the tags still on them for 250 bucks retail....( yay me!) Anyway, she tells me she has a few pairs of american eagle jeans that her son ( then 16) outgrew last year, and would I like them? SO of course i said sure! I never looked at the size i had already mentioned i was wearing 32 waist 30 inseam jeans that day. SO i assumed they were my size. My friend even laughed and said, man can you imagine wearing jeans my 16 year old son wore? Now i only recently even tried getting into 32/30 jeans. End of november i was wearing 36/30 jeans, then 34/30 jeans a few weeks ago. So the move to the 32's has been very recent. SO anyway, I get home later that evening and i look at the jeans. The tag reads 29/30 . Of course i laugh and hold them up, they look like something ELmo would fit into. Straight cut by the way. As a joke i throw a leg into them, and then the other..... Yes you guessed it, THEY FIT! No not wonderfully. I wouldn't tuck in a dress shirt in em. But damn! i could wear em. Holy %$#k! Are you shitting me? People, just for reference, it was 1 year ago I was wearing 56's Now 1 year and 1 week later post surgery and Im able to fit into a 29 waist? Yea i don't think I stopped smiling for several hours. Heck i'm smiling now just thinking about it. My in laws came over today for our christmas, and they gave me a very nice gift card to nordstroms ( which i have never shopped at ) and said to " buy something you wouldn't normally buy for yourself , to celebrate" ( my birthday was 3 days ago.) So im going to do a little shopping! ( with Nordstroms prices, it wont be much, but? it'll be fun!) If it seems like i'm bragging, I apologize, i'm sure there's a little brag in there, but I wanted to say to those who are fighting the good fight and struggling....You can do this! I anxiously wait for your GOAL post! Keep all those NSV's coming. They all add up and mean a lot. You can get there. Don't give up!

Today when completing my profile for my new Fitbit I realized for the first time in 20 years my BMI no longer puts me in the obese category! I'm now just officially overweight Now comes the challenge of moving into the "normal weight" category!! Jules

My best friend gave me 2 boxes full of tons of clothes! I was trying them on yesterday and I was happy when the size 10's seemed extra comfortable. I had tried on one pair of jeans that I really liked and though they zipped and buttoned with ease they weren't quite as roomy. None the less I liked the way they looked best so I decided to put them on for the day and I realized that they were a size 8!!! I was shocked, I have no idea when I was a size 8 before, I assumed it must be the jeans, so I looked through the box and found another pair of size 8, again they zipped with ease. I was cautiously excited but still thinking that it was just the luck of the jeans. So my husband and I went shopping, I tried on 4 different pairs of pants all a size 8 and all fit me!!! Of course some fit better then others but they all buttoned and zipped with ease. I can't believe that I am in a size 8 I have been a pretty slow but steady loser so for me this is an accomplishment, I wasn't sure that I would even make it to single digit clothes. My ultimate goal would be to wear a size 6 and now I am feeling like slow but steady might get me there, even if I take longer then others! I love these NSV's thanks for letting me share

So far today has been a wonderful day! Even though its only 9 am... I woke up to the phone buzzing to let me know the children had no school due to the Snow Storm. Jumped in the shower to get ready for work, then got the call from my boss "NO work for me today"! Wow..great! I finished getting ready and decided to paint my nails and then "try to do my toenails" Its always a struggle (my daughter usually does it for me). But Guess What!!!! I was able to paint them by myself! I could reach my piggies without my belly boobs in the way! It might seem like "YEAH BIG DEAL", but its a huge deal to me! Must be all the sits ups I am doing!!!! Well just thought I would share my happiness!

Non scale Victory! Meaning besides watching the scale go down....other thngs that we overcome or feel victorious!!! (if that is even how you spell it)! LOL. Since I have lost 45 lbs I can now paint my own toe nails (and neatly)...LOL. (a NSV)!!!

"Thanks," as I run for the door! I don't have much social skills, LOL...might need a few lessons. With all the years I lack confindence b/c of my weight! Lets keep the NSV's coming!

I Can Fit In My Old 13 Size Jeans! Nsv
Ms skinniness replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Liliana, thank you for the encouragement, I went shopping with my daughter and bought a size 8 pair of slacks! This is a great NSV moment. I have been in a stall since Xmas and have been losing inches. I guess my body is readjusting.LOL -
Oh Tiff-you are so way past a 16. I bet you'll be shocked with how small you go with your new clothes...I can't wait to hear all about your NSV's after tomorrow's trip. You are doing such a great job and will be at goal in no time and then have to buy even smaller clothes. Itstime-I have never been in a 10 in my whole life. By the time I left the girl's husky clothes, I remember going right to a woman's 14. There might have been sizes between there, but I was in upper elementary/middle school and honestly don't remember this size. I know I was a 16 by my freshman year in HS, got to a 12/14 my sophomore year and then back to 16 and so on. I also know this must be a 10 that runs super large, but hey, I'll take it.

Down 60 lbs. & HELLO "Onederland!" (both on 6 mo. anniversary)!
Carly commented on Carly's blog entry in Lap-band life in the desert
Well, it finally happened! I entered into ONEDERLAND & and hit the -60 lbs. milestone today, which happens to be my 6-month anniversary! How amazingly fitting! I've been on the cusp for the past 2 weeks, hitting the scale w/great anticipation (if that's possible), thinking, "OK, today may be the day." It wasn't meant to culminate until today, and I think that's pretty cool. I can tell the weight loss is beginning to slow somewhat, and I realize that's to be expected (though it is hard to embrace the idea!). However, I'm extremely excited about just being able to wear blue jeans again (size 13-14 even!). I went for YEARS w/o going outside of the house in jeans b/c they looked so hideous. Not any more! For me, that was an incrdible NSV. And, of course, feeling my confidence grow daily is absolutely an amazing thing. Thank you God! PTL -
YAAAAY!!! CONGRATS! Awesome NSV

Orange is NOT my new black! How my fashions have changed!
joatsaint replied to ziggypbang's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Congrats on your NSV! I bought my 1st new shirts this month - 15 months post-op. I was so surprised that I'm able to buy stuff that isn't "big and tall". :-) I used to buy all black stuff - pants, shirts. Now I can't stay away from bright colors - reds, blues, greens, and the brighter the better! -
Wonderful NSV. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the interview!

Update. I'm now five months out and down 75 lbs. weight loss has slowed down but I'm feeling better each day. NSV every day. First pic is my high weight before surgery. Second is at 3 months after surgery down 55 lbs. Third is today, 5 months with 75 lb loss. I feel so much more in control of my life and choices.

TIPS to get back on track!
sillykitty replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do two of the things mentioned above @GreenTealael mentioned, I try to stave off hunger by drinking fluids. Similar to @FluffyChix mentioned, I focus on my commitment to weight loss, and making one good choice at a time (choosing jerky over a brownie for instance) I also focus on my NSV, and how great those make me feel, crossing my legs without even thinking about it, wearing size 10 jeans, wearing size M shirts, easily fitting in an airplane seat, feeling sexy af, lol. This is vain, but I also think about the compliments I have received. It's one thing to think I look great, but it is affirming to hear others say it. -
Very excited today. I was able to buy jeans in Old Navy! Have never fit in their jeans. Bought a size 18 skinny jeans. Haven't worn an 18 in about 15 years! Also was able to buy size L tops. I'm 10 weeks post op and was in a 24 jeans and a 2x-3x top! It feels good!

Oh, this is funny! I hope you didn't hurt anything but your pride. It's funny, but just this afternoon I sat on the floor and got up several times -- for no other reason but because I can! Thanks for making me realize these things are, in actuality, NSV's!

Let's call it metamorphosis - the closest thing I can liken it to is a caterpillar cocooning and turning into a buttterfly. Except my cocoon has mirrors and I allow the occasional visitor. I'm definitely undergoing a transformation, my fill is working, I'm rarely hungry and when I am I eat small portions. I'm officially a size 22 dress which is for me a BIG deal, even though I've been a size 22, 20, even an 18 in jeans, I haven't gotten below a 24 top. So my dresses were always in the size 24-28 range depending on the cut and store. Officially a size 22 which is for ME a HUGE deal, I feel GREAT.. I feel fantastic.. I feel....FABULOUS! I'm definitely in the middle and midst of something great and I can't wait for it to continue. NSV this week - Down from a size 48D to 40DDD - yes they actually got BIGGER! lol.. Down from a 24/26 dresss to a 22 Double chin has almost vanished completely! Taught myself how to do "professional" looking makeup. Rocked absolutely everything I wore... And then ran into an old friend who just CHEESED when he saw me and couldn't get over or stop saying how great I look. That was just amazing (especially since he's the best friend of an ex boyfriend lol) this is absolutely 100% the BEST thing I ever did for myself.. I know I'm experience God results and my change is rapid and I'm SO thankful for it. Praise Him!
