    just had a thought..

kmed21 never did a scrapbood but....... you can do anything your "big" heart desires the skys the limit you could keep track of your approval letter ( that you posted on line earlier ) pictures of yourself through the months aka before and after you could print off good suggestions/posts from the board on food, carb et al that you see from the VSG board important dates - like your 1 month, 3 month , 6 month et al surgiversary you might write a post on the board signifying any of your many future successes then print and put in the scrapbook whatever your pretty self wants after all, its your life maybe also start a blog recording all your experiences good or bad your successes (NSV's) good luck kathy
  7. Just saw my surgery date ticker and turns out that today, July 19, happens to be 75 days since my surgery on May 6! My highest weight ever was 357 and my weight the day of surgery was 350... today I am 296 meaning I have lost 61 lbs and broke into the 200s! (is that Twoderville, Twonderland, etc ??) At 5'9, my goal weight for now is 200, which means I am 96 lbs away and have achieved 39% of my journey! Now for the NSVs... I have been Instagraming a lot (as many 21 year olds do nowadays)... I hadn't had any pics of myself on my Facebook in years. A restaurant I hadn't been to in awhile has very tight booths - for once I wasn't touching the table at all. I haven't been at this weight since I graduated high school in 2010. My pants really don't fit! They actually were always too big for me (I guess my waist is just naturally smaller) so now it's kind of embarrassing pulling them up all the time so I gotta buy new ones. Have a follow-up appointment on Monday so I am excited to share my progress there and the biggest one coming up... tomorrow is my great-aunt's 100th birthday party where we are first having a pool party - majority of extended family hasn't seen me since Thanksgiving! So much more left but I am so glad I did this... getting my happy back is so important. I don't want to lose focus by being too proud though. Thanks all who have been so supportive and encouraging, especially in my "Miserable inside" thread back in May! ~Mark P.S. Attached one of my Instagram photos so you can see haha.
  8. Weight Day of Surgery 299 BMI 44 size 24 Today 172 BMI 28 Size 10 NSV: Riding horses!!
  9. I am patting myself on the back today. My hubby is deployed and like any marriage...some days it's really a lot of work to remember why I stay married...especially when we are trying to converse via chat and nothing is coming across right...BUT...where I might normally eat a bag of chips and wallow in my misery...today I picked up a cookie, stared longingly at it...put it down and went out and ran/walked on my treadmill for 30 min. Huge accomplishment for me. The start of bucking that stress eating habit I have. It would have been so easy just to eat the darn thing and skip exercising. The best part was realizing I didn't really want that cookie. I wanted the exercise. Hoping this NSV becomes a habit!

  11. Went to the loft and bought 4 medium shirts. I haven't wore a medium ever. I am so happy!!! I'm down 70lbs and my BMI is 28.9 I hope to get down another 8-10lbs by Labor Day when I do my wedding dress fitting. Fingers crossed I can do it.

    My favorite NSV!

Great NSVs! I can't wait to take my daughter to Disneyland, I plan to ride ALL the rides!
  13. I hope it all starts getting better for you. Keep your eye on the prize. It won't be long until we are filling up the NSV thread
  14. Yesterday I weighed myself in the morning and the scale showed 186.6. A few hours later, I weighed myself again and it showed 189.4. We just need to stay off the scale! Lol. NSV moment: today I wore a black t-shirt I purchased two months ago. It used to be fairly close to my belly. It is size XL. However, today, when I wore it, it looks like a mini- dress. Amazing!

    My favorite NSV!

Thanks everyone! I hope you all are experiencing great NSV's!
  17. Hi my little buddies, I wanted to update my progress. I am actually doing very well. I crossed my legs for the first time last night since 2004, NSV. I was so proud. Everyone has given many compliments. My kids look at me funny because I don't really look like their mom. I've been exercising since pre-op but at the moment I'm doing Elliptical 40 minutes in the morning and walking 30 during lunch. I was walking 3-4 miles a day and had to slow down due to Achilles tendonitis. Feeling much better with that. I'm eating 3 meals a day with 2 Snacks a day. I try to eat 200 @ meal and 100 @ snack time. I'm eating 20-30 carbs a day and average 800 calories a day. Things I eat: Deli turkey string cheese boiled eggs, love these tuna all meats and fish except chicken, ouch! Usually can only eat 2 oz at a time Hummus salad, ranch dressing green Beans and spinach, etc. SF popsicles and Jello w/SF whipped cream. Yum!!! Hot chocolate, SF Just started eating 1 oz walnuts for a snack I'm only losing about 2 lbs a week now. I can tell my body is readjusting. I have lost a bunch of inches, not sure of total. I know I've lost 10 off waist and 9 off hips. My blood sugars are still amazing and I'm so thankful. I just took my blood sugar after dinner and it was 94. Yahoooooo! I am having one continuous problem though, I constantly have to remind myself to slow down eating. I do get full before I eat my required 3 oz of Protein but it is so hard to slow down my eating. Bad habits sometimes are hard to break. I am working on it though. Another problem is seeing myself as thinner. I don't feel as thin as I am. I now weigh 246, but some days still feel 324. I work hard on this journey and love every minute of it. I, as I'm sure most of you, have always worked hard at slimming down but had always had a force pushing against me. I now know I have a tool that is on my side and we're working together to make my life better. I wish you all the best of luck and would love to encourage anyone that has questions or fears about the sleeve. Please don't hesitate to message me if you need any help. I am far from knowing it all, but would like to help in any way I can.

    My favorite NSV!

    Awesome NSVs!
  20. I love flying and riding roller coasters. Both of these things are hard for someone who is 160 pounds overweight. I flew to NYC in June (120 pounds down!) and didn't have to ask for a seatbelt extension! And today we are at Worlds of Fun and I can ride EVERY RIDE! I love weightloss!!

    Wedding Dress

You look gorgeous!! That is such an awesome NSV!! What was your hubby's reaction to seeing you in the dress again?

    Bridesmaid dress question

It's great that you like the dress, it doesn't always work out that way. I think we've all been there. About your arms, ya know, you may be surprised, I never wear sleeveless. Ever. Now, I look down at my arms and they are starting to appear dare I say, normal? Huh? Did I just say that? From the perspective of just looking at them in something sleeveless, they look normal now. Of course I lift them and the batwings are there but I'm starting not to care because the rest is starting to look normal. I guess that can be a NSV??
  23. Smiling for you! Awesome NSV! Buy some new shorts on your son's dime! And the shorts didn't get big, you got smaller!!!

    Wedding Dress

Wow! Great NSV! Unlike the others I was about 120 when I got married, and it wasn't in a long wedding dress. But I am sure, it would still be too small as I have never been that small again. Congrats, to all you brides who either can make it into your small wedding dress, or to all of you who don't want to EVER fit into your wedding dress again!
  25. Today is my 13th wedding anniversary so I decided to try on my wedding dress. I am about 15 pounds heavier than I was on that day so I tried not to get my hopes up too high. It was a but of a struggle and I had to do some serious sucking in but I got it on and zipped!!! It was an exciting NSV! I didn't think I'd ever be able to put it on again.
