Success? Does 10 Sizes smaller equal Success? I think so!!!
sandradee0124 commented on janetsjourneytoslim's blog entry in Blog 75574
What a beautiful post! Sometimes we get lost in the big stuff with the "lap" band and forget about the basics and the NSVs. I actually had someone tell me today that I'm "happier" than I used to be. OK! Thanks again for all your posts, Janet. God's peace....... -
Ok ..so I went to a store for the first time..not just digging through my closet and yes..I am finally down one pant size. Now that may no seem like much BUT I haven't seen this size for 11 years much less even squeezed myself into it! They slipped right now and zipped effortlessly with room to spare! (sorry gentlemen..this next part you can disregard!) I also had a change in bra size ..when down a full 2 inches and went up a cup size! LoL ..maybe things just shifted in that aspect! But still who ever heard of going up a cup size wild!!! I am proud of me and my sleeve! I am on a journey and I hope it continues to go well! 9 w and 5 d out and down 49# and I guess that is good!

Let's share some NSV's - I think at times they are better than a scale Yesterday I went to the salon to get my haircut- haven't been in around 4 years. My hairdresser looked at me strangely when I got there- he said you look so different- and he looked confused.... I asked him if it could be the 100 lbs. Ge gave me a big hug, congratulated me and told me I look younger than ever

My first NSVs!-updated with pictures

Hey Sasi, great NSV's!!! Congrats I bet you're feeling amazing! As far as the pictures, you will have to resize them on your program or whatever you're using to edit your photos on your computer. I just use simple ole MS Paint, it does everything I need it to. I usually Stretch/Skew to 25% and that seems to work perfectly. I hope to see some updated photos soon!!! -
Now that's a NSV! Way to go!! I can't wait! :hurray:

I know what the scale says I weigh, but sometimes it doesn't seem real. I have worn a size 2x pantyhose, and Queen sized knee highs for years. Yesterday I decided to buy some hose, and I was lost in the store. After buying several things and them not fitting, I found out, I'm a size A hose, and now "One Size Fits All" applies to me! I love my sleeve!

Welcome to the forum. You will have amazing non-surgical victories as you go. We call them "NSV's"......things like being able to trim your own toenails, tie your own shoes, run for the first time in years, or getting into a lower size that you haven't seen since you were 20. Keep in touch and visit us often. Congratulations for taking control of your health and happiness.

This morning when I tied my shoes, it was like any other day, right? WRONG...as I was getting in my truck, I noticed that the bow was on the TOP of the shoe, instead of the side of the shoe. ((PHAT GIRLS KNOW WHAT I'M TALKIN' BOUT!!)) This is my first NSV, and since my loss has been painfully slow, this is especially sweet!!:clap2:

First of all, I never thought that "I" would ever be able to comment on an exercise thread so that's a NSV for me but anyway...my bariatric center built a special gym for their patients. They even provide a trainer! I love it and I really enjoy strength training. I use a little of everything then I do alternating days of cardio (walking mainly). I've recently been able to increase my weights on most of the machines...cool! I have to work on my endurance though...when I go to the gym I workout with the machines for close to an hour but cardio days are only about half an hour. I guess it's better than nothing, right?

It helps me to remember how much I weighed this time last year and what NSVs I have had even only 9 weeks after surgery. Then, imagine how I will feel the same time next year! If it gets slow, I just tell myself it's giving my skin time to adapt and hopefully shrink. Also, maybe it will hinder the inevitable hair loss... ? At least, that's what I tell myself~ Chin up!

Everyday is a honeymoon for me! Oh, wait, you are talking about weight loss. Those nsv's honestly mean more to me than the scale.

How Often Do You Weight Yourself?
Dairymary replied to Cindi_Augustine's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm a little over 6 years out and have been maintaining within 5 pounds of my lowest weight since I reached it at 18 months. I weighed once about every 3-4 weeks in the beginning. After reaching goal I would step on the scale weekly but that got boring.....just the same old numbers. For the last two years I might step on the scale once/month or if I perceive my pants are getting snug or even loose. After all this time I can how much I weigh within a couple pounds just by how my clothes fit. Guess I never worried too much about what the scale said. I measured my progress with NSVS and account for maintenance by how I feel and what I see in the mirror. -
Other than me regularly marveling at how little I eat, I just produced my first garbage bag full of clothes that are too baggy now. It feels good to be donating and making room in my closet! The best part is I am still relatively new so I know there are many more NSVs to come!

Oh and NSV. My surgeon said not to lose any more weight! She said she makes her TT tight so I will be really small in the waist after. Never thought I'd hear that!

Mermaid out of water! (My journey)
mermaidgirl replied to mermaidgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Figured I'd give myself a little bit of an update. SW:289 CW:254.8 GW:150 NSV: pair of shorts are falling off of me! As I go ahead moving on this journey, I do not know if I want my goal weight to be 150. I will see how my body goes and find a weight that I will be comfortable with. Going back to work is really hard, I've been having intense stomach pains that only happen there. It might be from the anxiety I feel about my job in general.
