Any other July 1st sleevers home?
Camella replied to Bredred's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow ladies you are doing really well and from the pics I see you look great!! I had a stall from day 10 to day 24 where I did not lose anything, but started moving again a couple of days ago. I'm also struggling with the Fluid - probably averaging 40 oz. My energy levels are really low. What are your week 4 stats? Surgery Date: 7/1/2013 Age 41 Height: 5'1 First weight -in with Surgeon: 225 SW: 220 CW: 199 (onderland!!!!!!! as of today) How much are you eating? Way too little I think - I need to see a dietician (my surgeons is on leave) Calorie range? 400 to 500 Have you stalled, yet? Day 10 to 24 Any NSV's? Who can actually drink 64 oz?!?!?!? 40 oz only - I try every day to get to 64 oz and fail miserably What kind if exercising are you doing? nothing yet. I'm exhausted just running up and down stairs at home. Now realizing that it may be that I'm not eating enough. Weird thing for me - my clothes still fit me (must have been squeezing myself into my clothes) and only one friend has even noticed that I have lost weight. I can see a big difference though. -
I'm enjoying being able to sit on the floor with my legs folded and easily get up I'm enjoying all the "hey skinny" comments even though I still have a long way to go before I'm truly skinny Can't wait to cross my legs comfortably I'm loving trying on clothes I couldn't fit before I can see my collar bone! My husbands glances The proud looks from my parents The inspiration I have been to others The envy I've experienced from some Giving my larger sized clothes to others I'm beginning to enjoy running! In addition to the numbers going down on the scale, I'm enjoying this journey, and all of the NSVs that come along with it! :-)

Weight loss VS Roller coasters
Beach Lover replied to Stef_L's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
When I was 287 pounds and a 22-24 I rode all the roller coasters at Disney. The other day I was there and it was wonderful to fit a little better. You should give it a try........could be a NSV for you!! Good Luck and have a great time!! -
Just found that one of the awesome things about losing 70 pounds is being able to comfortably reach my feet and paint my own toesies!!! Hooray for purrrrdy feet!

Your favorite nsv's?

My favorite NSV's so far have been: Not having to buy "plus size" clothing anymore Trying on clothes and thinking "hey I look cute" instead of "I look like a fat cow" Being able to sit wherever I want without worrying if I'll break the chair Being able to sit in booths at restaurants (I didn't fit in them before) Seeing my collar bone and feeling my ribs for the first time in my adult life Going on rides at the carnival for the first time in almost 20 years Being able to do things with my kids, like go to the zoo or even a long walk Being told I look a lot younger now -
My favorite NSVs are Not having to ask for an extension on an airplane Walking down an aisle of an airplane without apologizing for almost knocking someone out. No longer hearing a grown from the person I need to sit next to on a long flight Getting off the coach on the first try Crossing my legs Getting dressed without sitting down Being able to ride any coaster at an amusement park Not having to worry if the ladder is going to hold me or not Tying my shoes without almost passing out. Taking the golf ball out of the hole without getting on my knees first Leaving food on the plate without feeling guilty Keeping up with the grand children Realizing that my world no longer revolves around food.

Congratulations with your NSVs. Losing weight is a terrific accomplishment but you can not beat a NSV when the scale seems to not want to move. I too need to get a new belt. It took me 26 years to get to 330 so I do not get discouraged even though I have not reached my goal. The last six years have been quite the ride when I gain weight it is usually me at the root cause of the problem. I recommitted myself at the beginning of this year after it took 4years to get back to 250 and continue to make strides in my journey.

Had a nsv and a sv today. XL fitted shirts fit great and I broke the 250 mark today when I woke up to 247 on the scale. I love my sleeve!!!
-
Awesome NSVs!! Congratulations. I actually use my belt along with my scale to measure my progress. I have one of those navy belts that are adjustable. I use the eye loop in my pants and shorts as a guide on my inches lost. My belt barely fit me before and now it is almost to my back.

Hey June 25 Sleevers
CCRNonherway replied to artymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1st NSV! Just went through all the pants in my closet. Found about 10 pair that were "too big" and only 4 that were "too small". The greatest thing is that I have some from 2005 and 2009 that were snug back then and now are "just right!" I also bought a new pair of pants yesterday, size 16! When I started this journey, I was a size 22! I'm so excited that I pulled all those pants from the "back of the closet" and can now wear them! -
Any other July 1st sleevers home?
kjordan83 replied to Bredred's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey y'all! We've got to get this thread going again! I'm following the other July threads, but those sleevers are weeks behind us! I'LL START 5' 4" 29 yrs. SW: 277 CW: 253 I've dropped 24 lbs since 7/1 and haven't lost an ounce in 2 weeks!!! I think it's because I'm only getting ~32oz of fluids a day. :-/ Must increase! However, I measured and have lost 29 inches from my body!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!! I'm worried about my caloric intake because my NUT told me minimum of 1000, but that's seems waaaaay to much. So I set my own goal of 500-600. I'm trying to figure how to break this stall!!!! Yesterday, I had my first NSV and got to scratch an item off my "Skinny Bucket List"... I crossed my legs comfortably and I didn't even know I was doing it! I just looked down and my legs were crossed and my pants were baggy! This encouraged me to compare pics... And HOLY SHMOLIES.... The difference in unbelievable!!! I've already lost my neck and a few chins!!! Tell us... We all need the encouragement in knowing we are not alone!!! Who better to talk to than the July 1 Sleevers!!!! What are your week 4 stats? How much are you eating? Calorie range? Have you stalled, yet? Any NSV's? Who can actually drink 64 oz?!?!?!? What kind if exercising are you doing? Pictures? -
LOVE THAT NSV! Keep up the good work! are you still in the pre op phase or have you been banded yet? If so when? if not when ? so exciting!!
-
So I was 451 when I first started my pre-op diet and I went to wal-mart to buy a scale and the maximum weight they went up to was 445lbs so I bought it and every so often I'd weigh myself at home and it said "ol" for over load or oh lord which ever you prefer (lol). But today I weighed myself and it said 442.7.....I'm soooo excited I measured myself twice just to be sure it was right and it Steal read the same thing.....this made my day let's celebrate with a fat free, sugar free, gluten free, popsicle!!

I am a March 11 slever- cant believe its almost 5 months. 5' tall SW 243 HW 259 CW 185 I was at 183 but now up 2 lbs and stalled for a week. I can probably eat most anything except steak. I get about 650 calories, 25-30 in carbs, and happy with my progress. I was a 3x top down to a 1X and a 24 bottom to a 16, sometimes a 14. My biggest obstacle continues to be eating too fast but I am improving. My biggest NSV - no hair loss so far!!! Ann

First NSV & 1st Month Stats!
VSG_Barbie replied to kjordan83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome stats and NSV! Big difference in your face already! I get sleeved on Tuesday. Posts like this make me more excited and less nervous. -
Oh my goodness! I'm so excited I could shout from the roof tops!!!!! I was sleeved 27 days ago and lost 24 lbs in the first two weeks. Since then, I've been in a "stall." No loss on the scale and I was getting pretty discouraged. My DH encouraged me to measure and see what the difference in inches was. Y'all.... I've lost 29 inches!!! I was having trouble seeing the weight/inches lost.... until I did my first photo comparison... Holy Shmolies!!!! My hubby took me out on a date to celebrate (he enjoyed the food, but that isn't fun for me anymore!) After dinner, we went to the movies and we were sitting in the theatre waiting for it to start. I looked down, and MY LEGS WERE CROSSED... COMFORTABLY!!! And my jeans weren't cutting off my circulation... They were baggy!!! Just wanted to share!!!
-
My first NSV!!! My hubby and I are on date night and we are in the theatre waiting on the movie to start... I just looked down and MY LEGS ARE CROSSED AND MY PANTS ARE BAGGY!!! Hallelujah!!!!! I'm 27 days out and down 24 lbs! I measured today and have lost 29 INCHES!!!!! I have been in a two-week stall, but this new discovery has given me what I needed to push through the stall!!! Can't wait for the rest of y'all to get to this point!!!

Didn't realize it's a NSV
Sharpie replied to gowalking's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
ooh yes manicure and pedicures are my reward for doing good.. it's part of feeling good about yourself.. it is definately a NSV... -
It took me a while to realize I had another NSV yesterday. I got home from work and had some free time before dinner (because I wasn't starving hooray!) and made a spur of the moment decision to go to the nail salon and get a manicure. I haven't had one in years....I felt it was like putting 'lipstick on a pig'. I was so fat and ugly, why bother polishing my nails. Well...I'm not so fat anymore and don't feel so unworthy. So...I'm now typing with pretty mauve nails.... Can't thank you enough lapband.

sorry to hear about the obstacles Mitzie. You have been a great surgery buddy. It won't be long until we are posting in the NSV thread!
-
Just realized I did something without even thinking about it. I bent over while standing and tied my shoes. No aches, no huffing and puffing, no problem!! I wouldn't have been able to do that 50 lbs ago. Talk about an NSV!!!
-
Today in the shower I noticed I was able to shave certain areas with a lot more ease I didn't even realize it until I was halfway done - that I wasn't struggling to reach places. My husband will be thrilled
