So today I notice my gas pains are subsiding. I was able to use the bathroom with no issues (tmi I know). But it seems I feel a stitch like type of pain now. I'm like well damn get rid of one pain there goes another. I took a pain pill this morning. Since surgery I've only taken 2 pills. Humm

I am 4 days post op (sleeve) and had a tiny poop today. We're talking between the size of a regular M&M and a peanut M&M. Still a victory and not surprising, considering all I have had is liquid for 2 days pre-op and 3 days post. By the way, I've always been a regular pooper...hope that's not TMI!! -
Hi April! I think it's different for everybody . . .except protein, 60 grams minimum. When I was getting 120 grams Robin said it was too much, excess protein is stored as fat by the body just like excess carbs or fat. As to the rest, I know Liz and Robin don't want us to count grams, but I do it anyways and here is what I have determined is optimal for me (does not mean that I DO it, just that I feel good when I stay in the limits!) Fats: About 28-30 gr/day, max of 10 grams "bad" (saturated) fats Fiber: 25 to 30 grams, this is very important for me! Without adequate fiber I can't get things done, TMI ya know Carbs: At least 20 but under 60 "net" carbs - so total carbs minus fiber. I get almost all of my carbs from fruits, vegies tofu products and legumes (lentils a favorite). It sounds like lo-carb and I guess it is, but you can eat a LOT of fruit to hit 45-90 total carbs (before fiber is taken out) Sodium: Supposed to be under 2200 per my PCP, and I rarely achieve that goal. I am usually around 2800, on a bad day I can hit 4000-5000 or more

This probably falls into the TMI category, but what the heck. I had my first "never trust a fart" incident today while walking home from work. There was nothing I could do but soldier on and deal with the situation when I got home. I'd heard of this phenomenon and didn't really know how it could happen--until it did. On another topic, I know that we are all coming up on our one-year anniversaries. It would be really nice if everyone could check in on their anniversary dates and let us know how they are doing, perhaps with a recent photo. Just a thought! I'm the last of the February group (because my surgery was actually on March 2), but I promise to do so when my date comes! -

Glad to hear you are doing so well. You sound great. I just always drank even when I was not thirsty. The liquids in, liquids out has not been a problem for me, expect once which was on day 3 of being home. My husband said, it's probably more from what went into my IV than me drinking and he was right because it was only a 1 time thing. I am drinking a protein shake for breakfast and dinner and drinking soup (1 can) split into 2 servings. Other than that, it's tea. Here goes the TMI: After the diarrhea on Sunday, I have been having normal stools (very very very very tiny) but they are there, just like before the surgery. What I save in TP on #2's I use now on #1's. I was told that I could take Imodium AD if needed. I know it comes in a chewable tablet and I think even liquid. Cathy -

Oh Linda...you are my hero!! DD#4 Elyse just showed me some math stuff and had a question, and quite frankly I don't have what it takes to go back and figure it out. She is trying to take an online class (long story), but the prof is starting in the middle of the book, and who in the heck remembers how to do equations with subsets. You know.. with all those symbols and crap... She really could use some support IF you don't mind. I am hoping that she will find her niche in nursing, she has such a patient (sp) compassionate spirit. I just hope she makes it through the classes. She got an A in medical terminology but a C in Anatomy/Physiology and now has to take it over because she has to have a B. Memorizing is easy for her, but she has difficulty with abstract concepts. Anyway, I best stop talking about it. Linda, when I found that I was doing everything by myself (ex: door falls off the refrigerator, husband says "What do you expect me to do about it") is when I said...the sex isn't good enough to stick around just for that. So I said adieu. Candice keep us updated....and since we are into TMI, I must say that I came home from work and had an incredible BM. You know one of those that just kind of 'lightens' you. Well, one complaint today...in meetings all day, figure okay, I'll get stuff done tomorrow...but oh hell no..I find out that a 'select few' must participate in an all day long training on assessment testing. Yep, I get to be one of the 'select few'. I shouldn't complain, but...everyone else gets to work in the classrooms all day, and I don't. The Principal (okay, 2 complaints) came in and said that I would be taking a leading role (me a leader in anything, I don't like conflict) in our school-wide behavior program...and CAT team...and Tech committee...and valley wide science curriculum revision...and teach a new subject...and have 27 - 30 students in science labs at one time in a classroom that barely has room for 24.. (okay more than 2 complaints), Janet, I didn't realize how much time it took me to just pack my food for the day. Tomorrow I guess I'll get up a 4:30. -

Good morning, TMI ALERT!!! So 1 hive on my left forearm and one on the right side of my face (not too bad) but I think my TRUE allergy is the runs!!!! YIKES! Started last night and this morning...holy hell! Okay TMI Alert over. I finished my taxes last night and we are getting something back. I was a little worried that we would end up paying as I was doing them, but Turbo Tax does weird things and saves up the deductions until the end! So I should have my refund on Feb 12. Janet I will send you a check then. My fill has loosened way up already. I'm not as hungry but I can still eat way too much. If my doctor's office is open on President's day I will go in then, if not I am going to have wait until we come back from our Philadelphia/WA DC trip at the end of March. We booked our flight yesterday. We are intentionally taking a red eye to maximize our time!!! We leave Seattle at 11:25 pm and get into Philadelphia around 9AM!!! I am SOOOO excited. The only time I have been to the east coast is when I went to Disney World. Well I got some things to get done for my AP Chemistry class today. Chat later -

Linda, you are right, we don't teach writing anymore AND the killer is the grading. With all my master's stuff I haven't graded a paper in over a week, not good. I am just going to have to find a way to simplify it for this year. Not proud of it, but it is all I can do. My principal came and talked to me about who they are going to hire for my long term sub. It is a teacher that use to teach at our school, but when they sold their property for 6.9 million, yes MILLION dollars she retired. My youngest daughter had her and loved her. She taught mainly 1st and 5th grade, and her strength is not science, but she knows the system and possibly some of the kids. I know I will be able to walk away and not worry about a thing. I wish my surgery was tomorrow, I am hanging out about 4 inches and having difficulty going to the bathroom. Last night I had to shove everything back in just to have a bowel movement...I know TMI! We did have some good news yesterday. My co-worker that has been diagnosed with breast cancer got her results back from the test for the genetic marker for cancer (her mom died of breast cancer when she was 9) came back negative. So she will NOT have to have a bi-lateral massectomy or hysterectomy. They will be able to do a lumpectomy and radiation!!! What a blessing. Love you all, but I have a paper to crank out, TTFN -

Janet, drink drink drink...Keeps you energy up. But I know what you are saying. Coffee actually will stimulate bowel movement...TMI, but it does work. I have been up for awhile. Still a little queezy, so it must be a bit of a virus. Going to pretty much stay on liquids again today. Haven't really been hungry, just craving salt. Very unusual for me since I am usually a sweet freak. Hey, I'm game for Belize. I want to zipline and swim in the phosphorescent bay. Snorkel in the coral reef. Lounge on the beach and drink tropical drinks with little umbrelas!! Now I just need to start saving. Maybe we could find a cute cabana boy.... Work today, then 2 days off. So when I get home and get everything watered, back to the down sizing. I'm trying to be ruthless. I have laundry started, dishes washed, Cpap machine cleaned. I'm going to start hinging stuff today, pictures, etc. Then I need to finish build the dogbeds and stain the dog gates. Well best get back to getting ready. Janet, have a good day. Hey, when you are in Vegas, why don't you win about $10,000 and then we can go to Belize without having to stay. I'd carry your luggage if you bought my ticket with your winnings!!! Check in tonight! -

I never thought I would say this... but I miss my Optifast shakes!! I started the Only Clear Liquid portion of my diet today.. I have had tea, jello and chicken broth... three things I will NOT have when I get back on food.. ha ha Anyway was sooo good all weekend.. no cheating AT ALL, and gained a pound!!! Isn't that a kicker.. I don't feel bad ( which is weird) becuase I know I did everything right.. so I will see changes soon.. I also realized that I have not had a BM ( sorry TMI) in about 3 days.. so that could be it too.. The only thing that I am nervous about tomorrow is the Milk of Magnesia that I have to take!! yikes less than 48 hours!!! Talk to you all after surgery!! Good Luck to all those just starting the pre-op.. It went a lot faster than I imagined.. and NOT that bad either. -

ALERT.....TMI....Read with Caution!!! Not having a good week! Trouble with hard Protein ALL week. So yesterday I did only liquids.... 2 SF, FF lattes, coffee in the morning, 1 cup tomato Soup for lunch (125 calories for 1/2 can, Janet), glass of wine. So... was feeling pretty okay by late afternoon so I had a small mac and cheese lean cuisine for dinner. WRONG ANSWER! PB'd ... well, just slimed, really, and was extremely uncomfortable the rest of the evening..... do you gals get that pain in your shoulders again when you're tight or stuck??? I sure do... thought I was going to die. So I stayed up until midnight and then went to bed with 2 huge pillows and a small one under my head. Woke up coughing up stuff at 1:30 a.m. and that was about the end of my sleep. Have a call in to my band dr because I coughed up brown slime all night long. Hope it's not blood. Earl's been working on taking the stains out of the sheets and my night shirt all morning because a couple of times I dozed off and then wasn't prepared with Kleenex when I woke up coughing and barfing. I went through about a half a box of Kleenex I think! It was horrible. Similar experience about a week or so ago.. but this was much worse this time. And all the coughing made my lungs hurt. So... doing liquids again today. Tracy & Jim are on their way over and they're going out to lunch.. I know they're going to ask us to go with them.. but only if they're going somewhere that I can get soup. -

Long day, survived the university person who is in charge of our masters coming to observe me. It always stresses me out. Then a meeting on a student and store, post office, home, shower, and sitting here drinking my latte. Don't plan on moving. Since we are on TMI, I'll add my 2 bits. My prolapse is hanging way low again. Having difficulty urinating and the icepick in the bladder every time a take a step is getting old. If never use to 'jolt' when I walked and now it does. I guess when the pain gets bad enough I'll finally go to the doctor. About the only 'correction' left is to use a peccuary. Now I couldn't use tampons, who thinks I can live with a device wedged up there? Okay, sorry, long day! -
Im kinda worried about the "dumping syndrome" but honestly since I was in the 11th grade I have suffered from "something" (still to this day to be diagnosed) that is very similar to dumping syndrome, I have all the symptoms, They say its from stress, Dr. says my stomach takes all the stress like how people get stress headaches. The crazy thing is I can drink water to take my meds and end up in pain in the bathroom I know thats TMI (TO MUCH INFO), but its the truth.

Morning everyone. I feel great! I slept really well, with my "pillow mountain" as my DH calls it. Under my knees, on each side and under my head. Woke up with a little soreness in my abdoman, but nothing really too bad. I took some tylonal last night and this morning, but not the persription meds they gave me (demerol). I hate how that stuff makes me feel, so thought I would just take some tylonal. Ok a bit of TMI comming... I had my first BM just a few minutes ago. I honestly didn't think that would happen for a few days. In the past when I had my gall bladder out, I couldn't for about 4 days. This one came just as normally as it would. So far, so good. I must say thanks to the Dr. as he must have done a great job!!

Breakfast, 2 wheat thin flatbread with laughing cow and humus, Lunch green bean with a small serving a spaghetti, watermelon. Dinner is going to be taco soup. I feel so much better with food! Steph, so what went on at home? Are you ready to share? Candice, any gigs this week? Phyl sound like fun, wine is a finicky thing, or so I'm told. Well I need to go to homework. O.k. note the time... I havn't been UP and AWAKE this early since I don't know when! I've taken myself off of my Bedtime Meds for Bipolar just for a week or so... I am thinking that its the ONLY medication left that I take that could possibly be responsible for my RASH.. Ya know the Allergic reaction RASH that I've been struggling with all freeking summer... Well, I got the "bottom end" rash cleared up... stoped taking my HRT Vag cream.... but I still have the rash under my one armpit.. actually in front of my armpit but not quite on my boob... anyways TMI!!! I just have to get ride of this last bit of itch... i am hoping that it is NOT my Bipolar meds cause I like them.. they don't bother my stomach like the other meds did... So my hubby is "watching" me mood wise in case I start to go loopy or something... you guys know me pretty well too... so if you NOTICE I am different or talking a little SIDEWAYS you have my permission to Say so... enough of that... I'll be fine for a week or two... while I check out the skin reaction... I got off my butt and went for a walk this a.m. at 7:30.... felt good, I hadn't had ANY exercise since last weekend when we went hiking on our camping trip. Its a good thing that we went last wkend... as the Temperature now is COLD... and FREEKING Damp and COLD... Yuk... Phyl, I don't know what it is but I've had a headache all week too???? are you bothered by barometric pressure changes? That's what I amputtin it down tooo, either that or coming off these meds... maybe is causing the headaches? i'LL survive.. not a biggie Good job, on all those shopping finds.. girl you do get the bargains! I am back in the basement today, gong to work on my newest quilt.. Peter HATES it.. its for a girl at work and its PINK and Green... not my colour picks.. I'm a green/blue/purple kind of person.... Plus I've got to package up the Swiss Baby quilt and get it in the mail this weekend for sure! Steph, Karla hugs to you both... Kari, good work on staying away from the POP... you can do it.... the food will come. -

Oxy...the coughing fit is good bc you are getting all that gunk out!!! (even thought it hurt at the time and pp are right pillows pressed against the belly really help). I had a huge coughing fit on day 3 and (TMI) blood and a lot thick mucus came out. I was scared to see the blood. The dr. said was it bright red or dark red. Mine was dark red and that was fine because it was old and just making its way out. After that, I felt so much better in my chest and didn't need to use the blowing machine. Plus I was content to know I wouldn't get pneumonia. I felt so good. So keep coughing it up, with a pillow on your belly!!!! -
Hello all. Just checking in. I have been in the hospital since early yesterday morning. Nothing real serious.a viral thing. I was dehydrated and things coming out both ends. SORRY FOR THE TMI!!!! I am really tired and still really weak. Doc only let me come home because I have have none of the above for the past 8 hours and I begged him to come home promising to rest. Sure rested alot. Came home and deep cleaned my house because I have to get the 'sick germs' out. LOL But seriously NOW I am going to rest because I feel wiped out. I am still in for Mall Of America whenever it works for everyone else. Let me know. Miss you all. Phyl so great to see that you are posting!!!!! TTYAL

Hi ladies. I feel so discombobulated. It's like living in a new house. I don't know how I'll function. Good thing you are all here with me though. I'd be lost without you all. There were things I was going to say...hmmmm.... Phyl, old people sex. LMAO!!! I wanted to die! With their clothes on...are you kidding me? That's way to freaking funny. Did you share that one with Earl? hehehe...tmi...tmi....sorry. Candice, when you head south you can drive west to Montana, spend some time in Glacier and Yellowstone....see Karla and me...and THEN go south. You know what I'm going to tell Jeff tonight during pillow talk....how unfair it is that we can't retire :wink2: You are such a bad influence :nanahump: Denise, I'm missing the idea of going back to school...but not. I love the first few weeks. I love shopping for classroom stuff. I love it when the kids are still afraid of me. I love torturing the 7th graders. By the time they are freshman they knew I was just a big softy...but good times up until then :Banane56: Here's wishing you smooth sailing. Janet, the walk is 3mph for 8-10 hours depending on the time you spend at rest stops. They have stops every 3ish miles. They are mixed....one will be a grab and go, the next a full service food stop, the next a grab and go...they say you should be eating at every stop and drinking one to two bottles of water/sports drink between each. I heard that it's very common to come back 5-10 pounds heavier after the walk...but that most of it is Water weight from being overhydrated. I'm really excited to do the walk. The videos make it look so moving. I tear up everytime I watch one. I might have to up my zoloft dose to make it through  Maybe next year I'll sign up for San Diego and then you can join the team. Don't give me that, I could never. You're a machine!!! We all know you could. Karla, help me out. Teaching, nursery...what is job #3? What about taking in alterations? everyone needs jeans hemmed. Just a thought. There has got to be something....oh oh oh....driving bus!!! Bus drivers get paid good money and they have short hours. When our teachers sub bus driving they get to leave school early, or come late....and the guy across the hall said he got almost $200 a day. I think he might be exaggerating but maybe not. Might be something to look into. Lots of times he got paid to drive bus while he was teaching by doing field trips and stuff. Okay...Jeff is going to kill me if I don't go to bed. Went to the drive in tonight. He has to leave here at 430 tomorrow morning and then the kids and I leave here while hes gone. So....until I check in again....have a good one. Oh...going to be at Rose's and at the lake so it will be spotty me checking in. Don't panic. I should be home NEXT Sunday at the latest. Love you girls!!! Have a great week. -

Hey Gang You know what Karla - I bet it is lack of water - I haven't been too good lately about my water.. Got some capisain cream - don't put it on the back of your knees - and make sure you wash your hands VERY VERY VERY GOOD before going potty and wiping ;0) - it was a little warm down there ;0) tmi Phyl - I went to Desert Ortho - last yr about my knee - they did an mri and never called me.. I got some drinkable gulosmosnae (sp) I will see if that helps. Candice - I'm tight too - had 2 eggs this a.m. pre-gym - then came home went to target & marshalls (didn't buy any clothes) came home and had popcorn and it's sitting there.. I was going to have green salad w/chicken & avocado - but it will be a while - I think it's lack of water in my case - I think that I was tight before when I wasn't drinking enough .. Phyl Your freind Jackie - is super woman - how old is she - hell - I'm worn out reading about what she's done/doing.. Karla - I'm not packed but getting an idea of what I am taking - yesterday it was like 84 (humid) lows 70's in playa del carmen- so that's pretty much summer weather - The hard part is knowing what to take - $25 for a ck bag (x2) cking one bag and taking one carry on in case the bag get's delayed Phyl I like El Pollo Chicken - bought their seasoning - it just doesn't come out the same when you make it yourself - hell $4.99 for a Costco ck that's BIG - You can't make it at home for that... I have a rotisserie - and it makes a good chicken - but then I have to clean up the mess.. Candice - I am physically full - but want to eat - proof it's all in our heads - a low calorie day isn't going to kill us ;0).. You are doing very very well - Keep it up !!! Well, work tomorrow - going to be crazy - 14 days till vacation !!! -

No nasty FB messages between family members today! Praise God!! I can't deal with much more of that! Beach house.... You gals are going to love it. Setting is just wonderful. Place is smaller than I pictured it, but it will work just fine. The outdoor areas are GREAT... pray for good weather so we can enjoy it!! July 4th weekend can be wonderful, or not!! The remainder of our bill is due June 1... $802, and $200 of that is cleaning/security deposit. So we'll get that back. But... I think we have 8 confirmed.. so $100 each. If you are in agreement, I will spend $200 stocking with groceries, wine, etc... whatever you want me to get.. and then The $200 deposit will be mine, assuming we get it back. And I don't know why we wouldn't. Let me know what I should get... I know red wine for Candice and I. Then... what else... Long Island Ice Tea??? Tequila?? Vodka??? Beer??? Seems we drank mostly wine at Candice's, but I'll stock whatever you want me to get. Then... suggest some breakfast items... Kashi Go Lean?? Eggbeaters??? Yogurt??? Give me some suggestions... I may have to spend more than the $200 but we can sort it all out later. Place is rented Thurs night through Sunday night... so those coming in a day before or staying the day after, can stay in the condo here with us. We have an extra bedroom with queen bed and a pull out single in the LR. Suzanne preferred payment by PayPal with the deposit. Some of you had a problem with that, so just send me a check for $100 and I will deposit the checks in my checking account and pay with my PayPal account. Sounds like you guys are driving hard this week!! Relax... take your time, smell the roses! Are you stopping at the Mall of America after Steph's??? I hear Uncle Ed is doing pretty well... still a little confused at times. I think themain thing is tha he is depressed... I can't drive anymore, therefore my life is over. Making comments like, "I'll be leaving this place soon", etc. My sister, Barb said he was already talking like that before all this happened and now it's worse. Told my Mom they can't go to church anymore because he doesn't want anyone driving him aroujnd! Ridiculous! Their complex has a shuttle that will take them places. AND, he's been driving ladies who can't drive around to church, lunch, etc., for YUEARS!! Male ego!! UGH! Kinda pissed at Earl the last couple of days. Since we bought the new car he's doing things like sending me a detailed email account of our projected expenses for the next 6 months telling me our finances will be "touch and go"!! RIDICULOUS!! And today's thing... having a fit because I'm taking the cat for her once a year checkup and shots tomorrow... about $75. He wants me to take her to the animal shelter for the shots and not get a check up! He says he doesn't get a yearly check up so why should she??!! She's 13 yrs old! I'm taking her in or a check up tomorrow and shots!! Told him I'll take the money out of my "mad money" account if necessary! We only financed $10K, and our son-in-law financed that for us... so we're paying him...at 3% interest instead of what the car dealer was going to charge us. So the payments are minimal. Did it all formal with a contract and all. And it is not going to stress out our budget!! He had our financial adviser take a few K out of our IRA so we could have a "cushion". I told him... in 3 more years Uncle Sam will MAKE him start taking money out of that based on his life expectancy. That was a revelation for him... guess he thought he'd have control over how much he withdrew. Not the way I understand the "rules". So... then our income tax is going to go up. It's to our advantage to start taking some out yearly NOW! WHAT are we saving it for... for our kids to spend when we're gone!! SORRY... TMI, I know! I have had 2 glasses of wine and I am really frustrated... and YOU are truly my closest friends!! I have to VENT to someone!! Oh, CRAP!! News is reporting there is NOTHING you can do to help ward off Alzheimer's! Can't prevent it! But.. a better diet can lower the chances of getting it! HUH??? May have made more sense before the wine!? What a cheery new report! Now they're talking about breast cancer! I think I'll be done with the news now! Too depressing! Oh... here's some fun news from my family!! My nephew... sister Mary Lou's DS#2... just about to finish many years of school and officially be certified as a pediatric neurologist.. His wife and he wantd to wait until he was finished to start their family. He is 36 years old this month. I got a very clever email from him a few days ago about a "high terror alert". It went on and on with all these big words... and said the "non-specific indications of terror" were to increase on or about Oct. 14. There were two photos attached to the email. They were the most amazing ultrasound pictures I have ever seen... 3-D... of their TWINS!!! It was incredible! You could actually see that they are undoubtedly fraternal because they don't look very much alike... and one looks just like he did as a baby! They don't want to know the sexes, so you could only see the torsos, but, you could see the placenta, details of the fingers, etc. Needless to say, my sister is on cloud 9. She is 62 with 4 kids over 30 and these are her FIRST grandchildren! She is so thrilled! She already ordered two "onesies" online... Dr. Seuss theme.. "Thing 1 and Thing 2"!! -
