1. No game

Feeling great today

I love the "little" things that keep us going! Around here they call that a NSV (non scale victory) but I call it a good day I would say go As but they don't need the help, And I'm a giants fan

NSV =)

Your post me made smile at the end of a particulary stressful day. Congrats on your awesome NSV! WTG Smallbird!!!
5. 4 1/2 weeks post sleeve surgery. 1. I went with my Mom a few nights ago to see Pirates of Penzance at the 5th Avenue Theatre and pre-op, I always had to squish in the seat and have my hips pinched the entire show...but, this time, I fit comfortably and was able to focus entirely on the show! 2. I bought some smaller jeans at Value Village for "further down the line" last week- Lane Bryant blue size 4 trouser fit jeans. Pre op, at my highest, I wore a size 7 blue petite LB jean (I miss this old LB sizing BTW- they are the only jeans that have ever fit me like a glove - larger hips, smaller waist). I thought today just to try them on as gauge of where I am...surely they won't fit...and up and over my thighs and butt they slid, and zipped! HOORAY, this is actually working! 3. Probably TMI, but my legs do not fall asleep anymore when I have to sit on the toilet for longer periods of time now! Lol. 4. Feet are getting less wide- shoes are fitting better now! 5. Serving a gooey, chocolate layer cake at a family party and not being tempted to eat a slice. I did have a small shaving of dark chocolate garnish and I was good! Chocolate craving over! Highest weight- 330 Sw- 289 Current- 268.5 Height 5'5

What do you tell the haters?

You are only confirming my decision not to divulge the details of my upcoming surgery with my co-workers. They already scrutinize who eats what at office gatherings, so heaven forbid I eat half a donut or something after the procedure. I know they will be waiting for some sort of failure or re-gain no matter what I do. So. . . Make your haters your motivators! I plan on being the most fabulous and toned me I can be! Every NSV and weight milestone will be my personal eff you to the naysayers. Jennifer
7. I'm posting this in the 200 pounds forum because I know that for us, our NSV's can be very different from the run of the mill NSV's the lightweights have... so here are some NSV's from a (former)super-morbidly obese woman.... Being able to shop in ANY plus size section of any department store or chain with plus sizes (some of which carry up to 22 or 24 only) and not just the store with "extended plus sizes". *cough* Catherine's. BOOYEAH! It's awesome. But now my problem is TOO MUCH selection... I'm looking for a dress to wear to my cousin's wedding but I have too many options and can't decide! Not having EVERY SINGLE SHIRT I own have a hole/stain at the belly from where I rub up against everything. Still waiting for this one... RUINED another shirt at work yesterday :-( Being able to grab my own ankle without assistance in order to do quad stretches. It's embarrassing to have to have a stranger in your class push your leg up far enough for you to grab your ankle!.... I'm almost there but not quite.. I think my entire aerobics class is going to celebrate with me when I can stretch my own quads. Having the nasty yeasty fat lady feet problem go away. I had some sort of fungal/yeast infection thing going on on my feet for YEARS.. (ya know, that yellow chalky peeling cracking ugly old people/fatpeople feet) My right foot now looks like it belongs to a newborn baby and my left foot is ALMOST completely clear and I can wear SANDALS for the first time in a decade! Bending over to pick something off the floor without thinking about it/without dreading it. A larger lady at the store dropped a quarter the other day and I KNEW she was thinking: "is that quarter worth bending over to pick up?" UG, I remember that feeling well... I didn't even really realize what a NSV this is until being reminded what a struggle it was for me before, because now I just bend and get stuff all the time now without even thinking about it. OK so there you have it.. some of my favorite NSV's So let's hear it What NSV's made you the happiest.. or if you're just starting, what NSV's are you looking forward to?

These are a few of my favorite things:

Congrats on your NSV's My goodness, for me it's so many things! - After cleaning i'm not so winded and don't sweat anymore. - Back use to ache when i washed dishes. Not anymore baby! - dark spots on my face are clearing up - My neck is super thin and my face has pulled back considerably - After my mom uses my car ( she's way thinner than me) i don't have to readjust so i can fit. Her chair settings fit me comfortably. - My shorts are way too big. - Jeans no longer fit me. Too big. - As you stated, pooch is getting way smaller so it doesn't poke out when i wear dresses. My stomach somewhat flat in clothes. - When i climb the stairs i'm no longer out of breath - I more comfortably in small chairs. - Small clothes are becoming too big and small bras are fitting just right now. I can go on and on and on..it's not easy but the good has most definitely been outweighing the bad.

Dress

It will be the first of many NSV's for you good luck!
10. Feed that was me too! I think my biggest moment for me was taking my husband to my first consult with the surgeon and weighing myself in front of my husband! It was scary but freeing. And a shock to him because, bless him he never saw me "as that big" and thought I didn't need surgery. It's funny it's almost a NSV... Letting him see, no he knows my number daily and is my biggest cheerleader

Feeling complacent

I'm at 7 months post op and am feeling very complacent (contented to a fault; self- satisfied , and unconcerned) I have been at a stall for a month now. No real loss or gain. I have lost a difficult 55 lbs, and am currently at 189 lbs. But I have gone down from a 22 to a 14, lost lots of inches and have had too many NSV's to count. I am feeling so good physically, and feel like I look "normal". I get lots of positive feedback about my weight loss. I'm happy with the sleeve. My problem is that now that I'm feeling so good and looking better, I just cant stay motivated to keep up with the diet and exercise. I want to reach goal, but life's not so bad right here either... Is this a phase I'm going thru? Another growth experience? Anybody else feel this way?

Need advice for sugar addiction

I gave up all processed sugar and flour on my pre op diet and now that I am almost 5 months out and can eat anything. I still have not had one single bite of a cracker, bread, chip or anything with processed sugar or flour. It is my slippery slope. I made myself a promise not to consume anything of the like until year's end. I think I need that time for me to adapt to my new me. I don't miss it right now and am ok but yesterday, I almost buckled and gave in as to not hurt someone's feelings. I have a group of friends and we meet for lunch once a month. We Celebrate birthdays, usually with just a card and small gift. My birthday is next week so we were celebrating mine. One of the ladies brought me a fancy cupcake with candles on it. I just cringed inside but thanked her. None of them know about my surgery but they do know that I have changed my diet. She was already annoyed with me because she had chosen the restaurant I commented that I was looking for a Pasta free dish and she asked why? I simply told her that I was not consuming any processed flour or sugar for the remainder of the year. She made a little comment about how it wouldn't hurt. I just said thanks but there is a great looking Cobb salad and changed the subject. About 5 minutes later it hit her that I may not eat the cupcake. She asked loudly so are you NOT going to eat that cupcake then? It got everyone's attention so now, all eyes were on me. I had to decide at that moment which was more important to me. My promise to myself or cave in and let someone pressure me? I decided in that moment that I was more important and worth keeping my promise to myself and just said, No, since I have made the commitment to not consume processed sugar this year, I would love to share it with you all or I can take it home and freeze it, it was so sweet of you to think of me though. She snapped at me and said, "well, I think you should eat anything you want, just eat less and you'll be fine." That pissed me off so I told her, "thank you, but I AM eating anything I want, however, I am also NOT eating what I don't want and I am very happy with my decision." That shut her up. A few minutes later I think she realized she was out of line and said, "you know, you should do what's right for you and I didn't mean to sound like I was telling you what to do." This is the place my mouth usually will get me in trouble but I just smiled and said, "thank you for saying that and I am doing what is right for me." I felt like It was a big victory for me, in realizing that I am worth following through with me! So, does this qualify as NSV??

NSV today

Was in Nashville for a dr's appt and afterwards mom and I made a quick stop at Stein Mart, woohoo, my fav, and what ya know I tried on a 2X top and it was too big so I then tried on the 1X and it fit, I bought it, yay. I couldn't believe it. A year ago I couldn't hardly wear anything from there I was growing out of their clothes I was getting so big, I mean my eating was out of control pre op that my weight was getting out of control on me. I was so excited, it was a good feeling. On another note, as some of you know my brother's cancer is back and today was suppose to start his aggressive chemo but they put it off till Friday so he went on and worked. He lives and works in Nashville drives a Semi for a National trucking company but drives local. Today he was involved in a bad accident, it was raining and 2 cars hydroplaned, one went airborne then skidded into his trailer and went under his trailer and he ended up dragging this car till he could get stopped. crushed the passenger side, luckily no one was in the passenger side, no loss of life. I'm thankful no one died or was injured very bad. He was shook up pretty bad as he takes life seriously as well as others and it upset him to think it could have ended up tragic. Thanking God right now.
16. I went to the fair today. First time in 15 years. I can now fit all the rides! Happy dance. What's your latest NSV?

Your favorite nsv's?

My current NSV is sitting in my recliner and pulling my legs and feet up in the seat with me. I've always been short and would pull my feet into my chair so they wouldn't dangle and go numb. (My grandmother would tell me that I wasn't allowed to feed my knees at dinner.) At some point I became too big to do that in my recliner. Sure I could lean back and have my feet on the foot rest but it's just not the same as snuggling up in the seat. But now I have plenty of room in my recliner. :-)

21. So I have lost 36 pounds (pre-op diet included) so far and today I went to get my shoes on. Usually with sandals that you have to fasten, I would struggle to put on because my big stomach would get in my way... well today... I did it! There was still some discomfort because I'm no where near my goal, but man did it feel nice to be able to have more breathing room to fasten and buckle the sandals without losing my breath! I don't ever want to be where I was again! It can only get better from here on out! Can't wait for the changes ahead. Just wanted to share with ya'll. May be simple but it surely was exciting for me!

All of my December sleevers...

Hi all, I just had to share a funny NSV this morning. I'm sitting in my desk chair at work and realize my feet are dangling like a little kid and I'm not siting all the way back in my chair....I had to go find the lever to change the depth of the seat since I didn't need all that extra room for my butt anymore !!!! That was a fun one! Take care, Kristin (Down 92 pounds from pre lap band weight in 2006 and 69 pounds from sleeve revision. In December.)
