Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
Twilight replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi ladies. I feel so discombobulated. It's like living in a new house. I don't know how I'll function. Good thing you are all here with me though. I'd be lost without you all. There were things I was going to say...hmmmm.... Phyl, old people sex. LMAO!!! I wanted to die! With their clothes on...are you kidding me? That's way to freaking funny. Did you share that one with Earl? hehehe...tmi...tmi....sorry. Candice, when you head south you can drive west to Montana, spend some time in Glacier and Yellowstone....see Karla and me...and THEN go south. You know what I'm going to tell Jeff tonight during pillow talk....how unfair it is that we can't retire :wink2: You are such a bad influence :nanahump: Denise, I'm missing the idea of going back to school...but not. I love the first few weeks. I love shopping for classroom stuff. I love it when the kids are still afraid of me. I love torturing the 7th graders. By the time they are freshman they knew I was just a big softy...but good times up until then :Banane56: Here's wishing you smooth sailing. Janet, the walk is 3mph for 8-10 hours depending on the time you spend at rest stops. They have stops every 3ish miles. They are mixed....one will be a grab and go, the next a full service food stop, the next a grab and go...they say you should be eating at every stop and drinking one to two bottles of water/sports drink between each. I heard that it's very common to come back 5-10 pounds heavier after the walk...but that most of it is Water weight from being overhydrated. I'm really excited to do the walk. The videos make it look so moving. I tear up everytime I watch one. I might have to up my zoloft dose to make it through  Maybe next year I'll sign up for San Diego and then you can join the team. Don't give me that, I could never. You're a machine!!! We all know you could. Karla, help me out. Teaching, nursery...what is job #3? What about taking in alterations? everyone needs jeans hemmed. Just a thought. There has got to be something....oh oh oh....driving bus!!! Bus drivers get paid good money and they have short hours. When our teachers sub bus driving they get to leave school early, or come late....and the guy across the hall said he got almost $200 a day. I think he might be exaggerating but maybe not. Might be something to look into. Lots of times he got paid to drive bus while he was teaching by doing field trips and stuff. Okay...Jeff is going to kill me if I don't go to bed. Went to the drive in tonight. He has to leave here at 430 tomorrow morning and then the kids and I leave here while hes gone. So....until I check in again....have a good one. Oh...going to be at Rose's and at the lake so it will be spotty me checking in. Don't panic. I should be home NEXT Sunday at the latest. Love you girls!!! Have a great week. -

Thank you all :biggrin1: :rain:Boy this rain today has been a real frog strangler....and from what I hear, it will be like this for 3 more days!!! I am so glad tomorrow is Thursday...I took Friday off. My DS will have my DD for the weekend, so its momma time!! I am running over to the casino to have ome FUN! My DH hung a lip, but he is working and I am not sitting here and not doing anything! he will just have to get glad in the same pants he got mad in. For those who can't have a BM...I found something that works (for me anyway). Drink some crystal light then about 30 minutes later drink some slimfast. That stuff does not mix and within 30 minutes it will be bathroom time....and I mean make sure you are near one! OK, TMI i know...:rolleyes Terri-I nearly pee pee'd on myself with the WWJD comment. Sad part, is I knew where you going with that before you actually said it...LOL Everyone have a spectacular evening! -

I'm in Maryland... no Fudruckers here, but I think there are some nearby in Virginia. Personally, I'm glad they're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over there! MEW -- what is your date? I'm May 29. 31 days to go. I've started the pre-op diet and am doing really well following it (ok, slight snafu last night but NOTHING, NOTHING like what it would've, could've been if I'd not been working so hard on this!). I'm drinking an Atkins shake for breakfast, eating something lc/sensible for lunch (usually chicken or tuna, today I splurged & had a left-over Nutrisystem meal that fit into the nutritional guidelines of my nutritionist), then I "test-drive" one of the protein pack items I ordered for a mid-afternoon snack (the part of the day where I usually cave in on all previous diets) (yesterday I mixed a pack of unflavored unjury protein powder into 60-cal pudding... mmmmmmm; today I made a low-carb chai tea latte with 8 oz of micellar(sp?) milk, you get the picture), then another Atkins shake for dinner, a sugar free popsicle for dessert (reward!), and at least 64 oz of h20 a day. Phew! Hope that's not TMI! LOL! I'm being so strict because I meet w/my surgeon in 1.5 weeks and I want to be DOWN in weight... I was 317 when I last saw him in Feb and I'd love to be down at least 10... then I'll have one week where I *could* (the old me definitely WOULD) look at it as a "anything goes" or a "farewell to food" tour week, but am DETERMINED to keep to this lc plan... then it's 2 weeks of liquids leading up to surgery day. My private dream goal is to be at least 299 (295 would be even better) on surgery day. But I realize that may be a bit overly ambitious. But a girl can dream, right?? Any amount LOWER will be amazing! Wow, I sure am going on and on... what's up with that? I guess it's just that I'm excited and you guys are the only ones I can really go on & on about it with... I know you understand & have been where I am... people in RL often don't get it, ya know? Well, the weekend is almost here and I must get going... have a great weekend, everyone!!! -
182.2... Kind of a lack luster week, although this is likely TMI I think it's because I am going to start my period:(

Hi all! I'm 4 days out of surgery and I feel so bloated and gasey. I'm on clear liquids for 2 weeks. Anybody else on clear only. Hope I can do it. My main problem is I feel so constipated! I know, TMI! But I don't think I can take anything for it right now. Is this normal? -

Linda, you are right, we don't teach writing anymore AND the killer is the grading. With all my master's stuff I haven't graded a paper in over a week, not good. I am just going to have to find a way to simplify it for this year. Not proud of it, but it is all I can do. My principal came and talked to me about who they are going to hire for my long term sub. It is a teacher that use to teach at our school, but when they sold their property for 6.9 million, yes MILLION dollars she retired. My youngest daughter had her and loved her. She taught mainly 1st and 5th grade, and her strength is not science, but she knows the system and possibly some of the kids. I know I will be able to walk away and not worry about a thing. I wish my surgery was tomorrow, I am hanging out about 4 inches and having difficulty going to the bathroom. Last night I had to shove everything back in just to have a bowel movement...I know TMI! We did have some good news yesterday. My co-worker that has been diagnosed with breast cancer got her results back from the test for the genetic marker for cancer (her mom died of breast cancer when she was 9) came back negative. So she will NOT have to have a bi-lateral massectomy or hysterectomy. They will be able to do a lumpectomy and radiation!!! What a blessing. Love you all, but I have a paper to crank out, TTFN -

CONGRATZ! ON THE 75LB. Okay, how many calories are you eating? Give me a sample of what you eat in a day. I need help! By the way, I got a flu shot yesterday. Then I came home and ate a lean cuisine..two bites into it and yuk! pb'd. It lasted for an hour. I am so sore. I think some of it is the flu shot. I don't know when I am going to learn to chew , chew , chew. You would think that I would have learned my lesson last week. I have never been one to throw up unless I am deathly ill, but yesterday I was praying that food would come up. It is so painful. Okay, TMI. -

Kat - that is just so horrible, but it sounds like Rick was worth the wait. there is hope for me yet. LOL TracyK- me, no prom, homecomming either.... i so regret that sometimes we went to drive ins last night, saw ratatulli (sp) it was actually really cute. my phone range early so i'm up, going to enjoy my last day and then shake central here i come! I have a horrible yeast infection which is just horribly uncomfortable - I have to go get some meds this morning, but since I'm running with no health ins, i pray it works..I've had much worse but this one is obnoxious, not getting worse or better, just hanging around.. I KNOW TMI... sorry I have super sensitive skin and changed laundry detergent (mom picked it up) and then i got this, i have ezma rashes popping out all over my body. I am ready to re wash all my stuff, even if one has nothing to do with the other - or does it. Uneventful Labor day planned for today, we are just going to hang out, may go apple picking, the orchard opened up on the 1st. going to shampoo carpets and move furniture. I hope everyone has a good day - off to breakfast with mom and the kids. -
I started yesterday, a week and a half early and omg the cramps! TMI but clotting too which I haven’t had since I had my son 22 years ago! You’re not the only one :(

Good Thursday Morn-- whoops! AFTERNOON, Violets~~ Wow... time flies! Yikes! Where is today going? Teach -- glad to "hear" from you & so glad that dh is doing well. Enjoy Canada! Pam -- Yay, a skinny day! Haven't had one here lately, but I'm hoping I'll know it when it does arrive! Brenners -- wow, what a start to banded life! Glad to see that you're still happy w/your decision & are ok now! Laura -- that cake combo sounds yum! mmmmmmmmmmmmm Househuntress -- What a fantastic idea!! Very creative!! Jennifur & others -- re: constipation issues (which I've been having a bit, too, w/this liquid diet... really, every few days or so I wonder where I got enough "material" to create a poop... all I'm doing is DRINKING! for goodness sake... hmmmmmmm)... I picked up a 6-pack of these teeny tiny cute little cans of prune juice to have on hand if it goes on too long... haven't had to pop one open yet, but it's good to know it's there if I do... (sorry if tmi!) Ok... Day something... I'm losing count!... it's....... (counting on calendar)... 11! ~~ OMG -- so that means only 4 TO GO! When that dawned on me just now I whipped my head around to check the calendar -- ow... I think I got a crick in my neck doing that! 4 MORE DAYS! Aye Yie Yie! Doing well w/liquids now... it's just what I do now. Got my whey Gourment Smooth PB chocolate Protein powder in yesterday... I did not realize that it would be in a gargantuan tub! It barely fits in the cabinet! I also ordered the Cookies 'n Cream (w/out having tried it first, but it sounded good) & had one this a.m.... it's ok... definitely NOT as good as the PBC... but ok... nice change from choc & van plain. Have a busy tomorrow & weekend... I'm the Book Fair Chair @ the kids' ES & have to set up the BOGO Fair tomorrow... then it's game 1 of ds's soccer tourny weekend tomorrow night... whoever scheduled THAT is crazy -- making soccer parents drive on Mem'l Weekend Fri eve??? That's just cruel... Then it's soccer Sat AND Sun... + our annual neighborhood Block Party/BB! on Sun (which my family is one of the 3 "host" families that started this 3 years ago, so we HAVE to be there)... my plan for the BBQ is to make up a couple pitchers of Crystal Light and maybe freeze a couple containers of it so I can have it as a "icee" type thing (digging @ it w/a spoon may entertain me, I hope) + have lots on hand to drink... I figure if I keep mingling all around maybe no one will notice that I'm not actually eating -- they'll all think I ate earlier w/someone else! OH -- AND one of my best friends is moving back to our town (in MD) from St. Louis after 4 years away... they bought a new house in a nearby development & I'm going to go over on Sat morning and put up balloons & sprinkle confetti along the sidewalk & put a sign on the door, etc.... can you tell I'm excited she's coming back?? I guess all that is my way of explaining that I probably won't be on here much 'til Monday... and then that's the day before surgery!!! Calgon, take me away! But I procrastinate... I must go now & CLEAN MY HOUSE... I must! Everyone have a great weekend if I don't get back here 'til Monday!! And if you all are out & about having fun all weekend & don't get back on here 'til Tuesday -- PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR THOUGHTS ON TUESDAY MORNING (7:30am surgery time)!!!!!!!!! I need the Purple Power of ALL the Violets in Tights!! Love you guys!!! -

Good morning Violets....... boy oh boy do I have a story to tell........ yesterday you may remember that I was very hungry all day at work, my egg drop soup did not hold me. I went to the store after work to pick up some odds and ends.. cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs, grated cheese... etc... I was set to have refried beans for dinner....... so I combined in a bowl, refried beans, sour cream, taco sauce, grated cheese...... metled in the microwave til down right soupy....... I added to much sour cream so I wasn't all that happy with the taste but I did manage to eat about half of it...... but to get the nasty taste out of my mouth I watered down some SF pudding with calorie countdown milk and ONE tablespoon of peanut butter icecream....... I stirred till a chocolatey soup and ate....... THE PAIN, THE PAIN, THE PAIN :target: ......... to much, to fast, to rich, My little Billy the Bad Ass Band (Kat ref) Knocked me FLAT on my BACK FOR the ENTIRE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! I ate at 5:00 p.m. and by 9:00 p.m. I had the WORST (TMI) "squirts" and it still didn't relieve the pain...... I didn't feel like PB'ng because everything I ate was a soupy consistancy.. but it was like my entire "inards" were full to the seems..... finally at 9:30 p.m. I took some of my pain meds and by 11:00 it had relieved somewhat........ DBF was telling me that I shouldn't do that to myself....... (I wanted to throw something at him) LIKE I DON"T KNOW THIS FACT! and he thought I was funny laying there moaning then I got the hiccups..... Maybe I can't do beans.... I am better today except I am STICKING TO SOUP! HOURS and HOURS of Pain.............. Nothing like a little fear to keep me on the straight and narrow. -

This probably falls into the TMI category, but what the heck. I had my first "never trust a fart" incident today while walking home from work. There was nothing I could do but soldier on and deal with the situation when I got home. I'd heard of this phenomenon and didn't really know how it could happen--until it did. On another topic, I know that we are all coming up on our one-year anniversaries. It would be really nice if everyone could check in on their anniversary dates and let us know how they are doing, perhaps with a recent photo. Just a thought! I'm the last of the February group (because my surgery was actually on March 2), but I promise to do so when my date comes! -

Janet, I think my yoga helped my digestion. Not only was I able to have a good bowel movement (Iknow TMI) and I ate real meals today. Breakfast, 2 wheat thin flatbread with laughing cow and humus, Lunch green bean with a small serving a spaghetti, watermelon. Dinner is going to be taco soup. I feel so much better with food! Steph, so what went on at home? Are you ready to share? Candice, any gigs this week? Phyl sound like fun, wine is a finicky thing, or so I'm told. Well I need to go to homework. Need to do some reading. -

Oh Linda...you are my hero!! DD#4 Elyse just showed me some math stuff and had a question, and quite frankly I don't have what it takes to go back and figure it out. She is trying to take an online class (long story), but the prof is starting in the middle of the book, and who in the heck remembers how to do equations with subsets. You know.. with all those symbols and crap... She really could use some support IF you don't mind. I am hoping that she will find her niche in nursing, she has such a patient (sp) compassionate spirit. I just hope she makes it through the classes. She got an A in medical terminology but a C in Anatomy/Physiology and now has to take it over because she has to have a B. Memorizing is easy for her, but she has difficulty with abstract concepts. Anyway, I best stop talking about it. Linda, when I found that I was doing everything by myself (ex: door falls off the refrigerator, husband says "What do you expect me to do about it") is when I said...the sex isn't good enough to stick around just for that. So I said adieu. Candice keep us updated....and since we are into TMI, I must say that I came home from work and had an incredible BM. You know one of those that just kind of 'lightens' you. Well, one complaint today...in meetings all day, figure okay, I'll get stuff done tomorrow...but oh hell no..I find out that a 'select few' must participate in an all day long training on assessment testing. Yep, I get to be one of the 'select few'. I shouldn't complain, but...everyone else gets to work in the classrooms all day, and I don't. The Principal (okay, 2 complaints) came in and said that I would be taking a leading role (me a leader in anything, I don't like conflict) in our school-wide behavior program...and CAT team...and Tech committee...and valley wide science curriculum revision...and teach a new subject...and have 27 - 30 students in science labs at one time in a classroom that barely has room for 24.. (okay more than 2 complaints), Janet, I didn't realize how much time it took me to just pack my food for the day. Tomorrow I guess I'll get up a 4:30. -

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
MegInNOLA replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't ever registered a gain. I do sometimes "hang out" at a particular weight--sometimes for a week or 10 days!--but it eventually goes down. I don't see much fluctuation with TOM any more (I'm almost 49 and it's sort of petering out, thank goodness), but I do see less loss with fewer bowel movements, sorry if TMI. As long as stuff is moving along, I seem to be heading in the right direction, and when stuff isn't moving, the scale doesn't, either. I weigh every day and probably will until I really "get" that that's what I weigh now. I still can't quite wrap my brain around it. "235, 235, 235" was my mantra all day yesterday--for someone who was over 300, that just seems incredible--and I vividly remember topping 200 for the first time (grad school), so I feel SO CLOSE to getting where I want to be. YAY sleeve!!! -

Janet, drink drink drink...Keeps you energy up. But I know what you are saying. Coffee actually will stimulate bowel movement...TMI, but it does work. I have been up for awhile. Still a little queezy, so it must be a bit of a virus. Going to pretty much stay on liquids again today. Haven't really been hungry, just craving salt. Very unusual for me since I am usually a sweet freak. Hey, I'm game for Belize. I want to zipline and swim in the phosphorescent bay. Snorkel in the coral reef. Lounge on the beach and drink tropical drinks with little umbrelas!! Now I just need to start saving. Maybe we could find a cute cabana boy.... Work today, then 2 days off. So when I get home and get everything watered, back to the down sizing. I'm trying to be ruthless. I have laundry started, dishes washed, Cpap machine cleaned. I'm going to start hinging stuff today, pictures, etc. Then I need to finish build the dogbeds and stain the dog gates. Well best get back to getting ready. Janet, have a good day. Hey, when you are in Vegas, why don't you win about $10,000 and then we can go to Belize without having to stay. I'd carry your luggage if you bought my ticket with your winnings!!! Check in tonight! -

O.k. note the time... I havn't been UP and AWAKE this early since I don't know when! I've taken myself off of my Bedtime Meds for Bipolar just for a week or so... I am thinking that its the ONLY medication left that I take that could possibly be responsible for my RASH.. Ya know the Allergic reaction RASH that I've been struggling with all freeking summer... Well, I got the "bottom end" rash cleared up... stoped taking my HRT Vag cream.... but I still have the rash under my one armpit.. actually in front of my armpit but not quite on my boob... anyways TMI!!! I just have to get ride of this last bit of itch... i am hoping that it is NOT my Bipolar meds cause I like them.. they don't bother my stomach like the other meds did... So my hubby is "watching" me mood wise in case I start to go loopy or something... you guys know me pretty well too... so if you NOTICE I am different or talking a little SIDEWAYS you have my permission to Say so... enough of that... I'll be fine for a week or two... while I check out the skin reaction... I got off my butt and went for a walk this a.m. at 7:30.... felt good, I hadn't had ANY exercise since last weekend when we went hiking on our camping trip. Its a good thing that we went last wkend... as the Temperature now is COLD... and FREEKING Damp and COLD... Yuk... Phyl, I don't know what it is but I've had a headache all week too???? are you bothered by barometric pressure changes? That's what I amputtin it down tooo, either that or coming off these meds... maybe is causing the headaches? i'LL survive.. not a biggie Good job, on all those shopping finds.. girl you do get the bargains! I am back in the basement today, gong to work on my newest quilt.. Peter HATES it.. its for a girl at work and its PINK and Green... not my colour picks.. I'm a green/blue/purple kind of person.... Plus I've got to package up the Swiss Baby quilt and get it in the mail this weekend for sure! Steph, Karla hugs to you both...
