Because I'm happy, clap along if you feel like a room w/o a roof.
Jenelle replied to Jenelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So today is post-op day 3. Last night wasn't bad. I kept waking up but not bad. I have a mini goal of drinking at least drinking 32oz of liquids. So to meet my goal I had that bottle of water next to me all night and every time I woke up I zip zip zip. Well let me tell u I should have slow down with the zip zip zip. Because all of a sudden I felt nausea and it was horrible I was so afraid of the pain it would cause. I sat down w the bucket in front of me and Thank God it passed. Always have a bucket near. Lol Another thing make sure u have ready at home a stool softener ( sorry TMI) because the meds will give u constipation. I will take one today because that's another pain I'm trying to avoid. I got on the scale and I gained 5 pounds (I'm sure of gas and the IV etc) but I'm not worried because I know that's the norm. So I'm at 242. I thought I'd never say this but burping and passing gas make me happy. Lmao. I must say my Dr Dr did a great job. Even the leak test when I asked when will they do it I was told he does it while u are still in the operating room. So if u are in the Chicago area Dr Enrique Elli is strongly recommended. Well time for nap. Ttyl. -
A record of my experience... from start to finish... rants and all!
njgal replied to njgal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok folks... 6 weeks out and a TMI post for y’all: Ok so THIS is constipation. 45 mins of agony on the toilet [emoji37] then an enema, which, 5-7 mins after being inserted, burned like hell. I must’ve damaged something beforehand. Needless to say hubby and I are a new kind of close now [emoji4] At the risk of being gross; didn’t realize this much had accumulated, I mean, I’ve been having bms daily so what gives? And I’d been taking fiber too so I guess it’s time to up it even more 🤨 Feeling better now. -
I am glad you’re doing well. I am just surprised with the fatigue. I did not know it could get bad. I have chronic fatigue and I hope I bounce back quickly from it. I have a question.. TMI sorry! But are you able to go bathroom ok? I heard constipation is a side effect, also have you had issues with Gerd after surgery?

Need encouragement from slow losers
claricey replied to Briswife15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How are the other slow losers doing today? I went up .6 of a pound today and feel bloated in my lower belly. Realized I need to take a laxative as it's been a few days. (Sorry for TMI) Hoping that gets me to feeling better. I am feeling a little depressed and could use a boost. -

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

Lol, this is one of my fav NSVs too. I'll take the TMI a little further even (because if we can't do this here then where else?) and share that I can't get over being able to see between my thighs when I sit down, that there is "space" and a visible kitty cat. lol!! -
I've been doing the best i can to avoid PB'ing...that's why I have only had one protein shake for the past 3 days, I can feel that i'm full and dare not take another sip, but I have slimed a few times and because i'm so full I dare not swallow the saliva so i'm spitting it out...sorry TMI. My fill level i'm pretty sure is a little over 3.3 cc in a 4cc band. I realized it AFTER I got home from the fill (see my notes below) my Dr. and I both forgot to note one of my fills in my chart because I made my appt. under my nickname instead of my legal name so she didn't have my chart and must have lost her note before it made it into my chart ? Anyway, i'm sure i'm overfilled and at first thought well i'm getting alot down so no chance of dehydration so I was just going to ride it out for a week or so, but now this is not good.

Manatee... Isn't that just the wierdest thing...I don't understand why the fill gets tighter after some time. They always said it would be tight right after a fill, swelling irritation etc... but it seems just the opposite. I've never really heard a good explanation why it would get tighter after a couple of weeks?!? I get REALLY tight every month (TOM...I know, TMI, and not your issue) but that's explainable...everything swells! Just when I think I'm ready for a fill I have that week that just kicks my butt. And I know what you mean about going for the bad stuff that will slide down :0, it's nuts & cookies for me!

This is a pic of my lap on the airplane last week. No more extentions for me. This is a pic of me in my "new" jeans (bought 6 months ago and never really thought I would be in them. I have NEVER had a "gap" before and about cried when I could see daylight. May be TMI, but had to share w/ people that can appreciate this type of NSV.

8 days post op. This is TMI but I managed to poop today for the first time after surgery! I am so relieved. It was firm but it wasn't hard to pass. I don't even know how I managed to do so when all I've been having is broth, herbal tea, fat free greek yogurt, and water. I am not hydrating as well as I should though, I think I get in 30-35 oz of water a day. My doctor recommended 65 oz at least. I am hoping other liquids count.

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
MummiesBB replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hello all Hope you are well? Wow what a new look to the forum it's great! Well I have had an interesting few weeks. I managed half a piece of toast last weekend and a full piece today. I love seeded bread and this was my first slice in 16 months since having the band as I wasn't able to eat it before as it wouldn't go through. It was delicious. Still mainly having soup but trying to have more solids but it is difficult. I can eat cheese so that is a bonus and drink milk plus cashew nuts for the fibre and I have stumbled across Belvitas a quick breakfast snack which is keeping me more regular - sorry if TMI. So can't wait to see if I can manage more toast tomorrow as it would be lovely to be able to eat this in the morning with some lovely strawberry jam. Weight wise I am now stable at 9st 8 - 9st 10 and a BMI of 22.7 Happy in my place at the moment and can see lots of changes happening in terms of the loose skin with the yoga. I teach 5 classes a week and it's a mixture of well woman and pregnancy yoga. So getting lots of focus on my pelvic floor area and toning my tummy (especially as can't do sit ups etc) just brilliant all over toning. Anyway, just thought I would touch base and say hello. Hope everyone is ok and staying focused. Take care Claire x -

Hi All Well I seem to have plenty of restriction and can only really eat cuppa soup (chicken mainly) as it stays down! Have tried solid food and it just doesn't want to know. My usual staples have gone out of the window and I am having difficulties in the toilet area (TMI!) Anyway biggest difficulty is getting the water down. It has stopped pooling now and just lots of gurgling. I am taking it that this is a sign of restriction? So tried drinking yogurt a couple of days ago and that was ok so shall start to put the pureed fruit back in as really need to get something in me. Lost a 1/2 lb and 1 inch this week so definately starting to get to the plateau. Don't feel that I want to go fo another fill just yet. What do others think? Have a good day all. -

ALERT.....TMI....Read with Caution!!! Not having a good week! Trouble with hard Protein ALL week. So yesterday I did only liquids.... 2 SF, FF lattes, coffee in the morning, 1 cup tomato Soup for lunch (125 calories for 1/2 can, Janet), glass of wine. So... was feeling pretty okay by late afternoon so I had a small mac and cheese lean cuisine for dinner. WRONG ANSWER! PB'd ... well, just slimed, really, and was extremely uncomfortable the rest of the evening..... do you gals get that pain in your shoulders again when you're tight or stuck??? I sure do... thought I was going to die. So I stayed up until midnight and then went to bed with 2 huge pillows and a small one under my head. Woke up coughing up stuff at 1:30 a.m. and that was about the end of my sleep. Have a call in to my band dr because I coughed up brown slime all night long. Hope it's not blood. Earl's been working on taking the stains out of the sheets and my night shirt all morning because a couple of times I dozed off and then wasn't prepared with Kleenex when I woke up coughing and barfing. I went through about a half a box of Kleenex I think! It was horrible. Similar experience about a week or so ago.. but this was much worse this time. And all the coughing made my lungs hurt. So... doing liquids again today. Tracy & Jim are on their way over and they're going out to lunch.. I know they're going to ask us to go with them.. but only if they're going somewhere that I can get soup. -

No nasty FB messages between family members today! Praise God!! I can't deal with much more of that! Beach house.... You gals are going to love it. Setting is just wonderful. Place is smaller than I pictured it, but it will work just fine. The outdoor areas are GREAT... pray for good weather so we can enjoy it!! July 4th weekend can be wonderful, or not!! The remainder of our bill is due June 1... $802, and $200 of that is cleaning/security deposit. So we'll get that back. But... I think we have 8 confirmed.. so $100 each. If you are in agreement, I will spend $200 stocking with groceries, wine, etc... whatever you want me to get.. and then The $200 deposit will be mine, assuming we get it back. And I don't know why we wouldn't. Let me know what I should get... I know red wine for Candice and I. Then... what else... Long Island Ice Tea??? Tequila?? Vodka??? Beer??? Seems we drank mostly wine at Candice's, but I'll stock whatever you want me to get. Then... suggest some breakfast items... Kashi Go Lean?? Eggbeaters??? Yogurt??? Give me some suggestions... I may have to spend more than the $200 but we can sort it all out later. Place is rented Thurs night through Sunday night... so those coming in a day before or staying the day after, can stay in the condo here with us. We have an extra bedroom with queen bed and a pull out single in the LR. Suzanne preferred payment by PayPal with the deposit. Some of you had a problem with that, so just send me a check for $100 and I will deposit the checks in my checking account and pay with my PayPal account. Sounds like you guys are driving hard this week!! Relax... take your time, smell the roses! Are you stopping at the Mall of America after Steph's??? I hear Uncle Ed is doing pretty well... still a little confused at times. I think themain thing is tha he is depressed... I can't drive anymore, therefore my life is over. Making comments like, "I'll be leaving this place soon", etc. My sister, Barb said he was already talking like that before all this happened and now it's worse. Told my Mom they can't go to church anymore because he doesn't want anyone driving him aroujnd! Ridiculous! Their complex has a shuttle that will take them places. AND, he's been driving ladies who can't drive around to church, lunch, etc., for YUEARS!! Male ego!! UGH! Kinda pissed at Earl the last couple of days. Since we bought the new car he's doing things like sending me a detailed email account of our projected expenses for the next 6 months telling me our finances will be "touch and go"!! RIDICULOUS!! And today's thing... having a fit because I'm taking the cat for her once a year checkup and shots tomorrow... about $75. He wants me to take her to the animal shelter for the shots and not get a check up! He says he doesn't get a yearly check up so why should she??!! She's 13 yrs old! I'm taking her in or a check up tomorrow and shots!! Told him I'll take the money out of my "mad money" account if necessary! We only financed $10K, and our son-in-law financed that for us... so we're paying him...at 3% interest instead of what the car dealer was going to charge us. So the payments are minimal. Did it all formal with a contract and all. And it is not going to stress out our budget!! He had our financial adviser take a few K out of our IRA so we could have a "cushion". I told him... in 3 more years Uncle Sam will MAKE him start taking money out of that based on his life expectancy. That was a revelation for him... guess he thought he'd have control over how much he withdrew. Not the way I understand the "rules". So... then our income tax is going to go up. It's to our advantage to start taking some out yearly NOW! WHAT are we saving it for... for our kids to spend when we're gone!! SORRY... TMI, I know! I have had 2 glasses of wine and I am really frustrated... and YOU are truly my closest friends!! I have to VENT to someone!! Oh, CRAP!! News is reporting there is NOTHING you can do to help ward off Alzheimer's! Can't prevent it! But.. a better diet can lower the chances of getting it! HUH??? May have made more sense before the wine!? What a cheery new report! Now they're talking about breast cancer! I think I'll be done with the news now! Too depressing! Oh... here's some fun news from my family!! My nephew... sister Mary Lou's DS#2... just about to finish many years of school and officially be certified as a pediatric neurologist.. His wife and he wantd to wait until he was finished to start their family. He is 36 years old this month. I got a very clever email from him a few days ago about a "high terror alert". It went on and on with all these big words... and said the "non-specific indications of terror" were to increase on or about Oct. 14. There were two photos attached to the email. They were the most amazing ultrasound pictures I have ever seen... 3-D... of their TWINS!!! It was incredible! You could actually see that they are undoubtedly fraternal because they don't look very much alike... and one looks just like he did as a baby! They don't want to know the sexes, so you could only see the torsos, but, you could see the placenta, details of the fingers, etc. Needless to say, my sister is on cloud 9. She is 62 with 4 kids over 30 and these are her FIRST grandchildren! She is so thrilled! She already ordered two "onesies" online... Dr. Seuss theme.. "Thing 1 and Thing 2"!! -
Anyone wear anything to help with the jiggle while running? (Hehe, the word jiggle makes me think of the jello commercials, lol). Okay, back to my post. I have a lot of mid-section jiggle (hehe) and was wondering if there is anything out there, especially for runners, that would help with it. Since I've started running, I've had some rashes under my apron that I usually don't get (sorry if that's TMI). I'm sure it has to do with it rubbing during my runs. Anyone wear anything under clothes that helps with that?

November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!

@@Dabliss111114 - I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Recovering from surgery is stressful enough without all you have gone through lately. Hugs to you and your family. I've been doing better the past couple of days - finally! It was a rough 4 days there, but thankfully that was short. TMI alert: I finally blench a BIG air bubble up as I was throwing up and I think that was the cause of my 4 day puking spree. My nausea went away after that. Since then I've been forcing small burps throughout the day to keep that from happening again. So far, so good. I got out today and did a lot of walking in Target. :-) I really do need to get out more. I had more energy since I can keep food down better. I was also dragging emotionally - it was frustrating nor being able to eat, not feeling like doing things, missing some of my favorite foods and probably having a minor pity party. Not full-blown really because I am extremely grateful that everything has gone so well, so more like a pout! -
Georgia - I'm so glad you received good news! I spoke with a guy in my office that does Marathons. He said the treadmills are the best on impact, but if you are training to run an actual 5K that you need to eventually start running on that type of material. Concrete is the hardest on impact, then asphalt, tracks, grass, and treadmills. I think we'll eventually take the run outside (maybe next month) when it cools off some. They have a running track at the Y and a dirt/pebble (meaning slip an bust my butt) track too. I missed running this morning myself. I want to go so bad this afternoon. I found out why the gain bothered me so much last night/yesterday. PMS. It sucks. I've had horrible cramps all day (maybe TMI?), thus I'm not running today. I'm going to run tomorrow though. I'm looking forward to Monday - Starting Week 3! Thanks everyone for your advice and support with this crazy plateau I'm on. I'm SO tight today and will be so for a few days. Maybe a loss? I think I'm going to get a slight fill next week. I thought about canceling my appointment, but think I need it. That time of month I've found makes me a little tighter. Is everyone like that?

Morning! Good luck Suzie. I will be thinking about you! Terri, woohoo! A surgery date. Keep us posted. Hi Jennifer! Tracy, is it hot enough for you yet? Wowzers! Cindy, what happened at summer school yesterday to make it suck? I hope things are better today... I miss Kat too!! Isn't she due back in a day or so? Michelle, how was the farmer's market? Zach is feeling much better today, thank goodness. I believe it was a stomach bug because it traveled from one end to the other (sorry...TMI). Today my stomach feels a little off so I am really hoping this isn't something we are going to pass around. Have a good day!! Angela

Aunt Flow is gone from her monthly visit (tmi I know) and time to REALLY put effort forth again to lose some weight. I just basically hold my own during the monthly visit and actually lose weight the other 3 weeks. So...lets see if I can add (or is it subtract) to the -11. Cindy-that battle of the ice cream moster is an every day thing over here. So we have none in the house (for now) and keeping it out of here is the struggle. Hope you won the war last night! Suzanne-thanks for sharing the pics! Kat-now that drink sounds GOOD. So, unless we want a replay of Gruene, I'd better not try. LOL I thought that too about my accent for Debbies voice thing. Leave it to YOU to actually say it! lol I am not the one with the accent...ya'll are! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning...just checking in. The kids are getting ready for school, I am cramping (tmi, I know). I will post again later. Kat-I am so glad for you that Rick is going to be home for Christmas! Have a good day everyone...I am going to grab a heating pad & go back to bed.

My dr. says to eat the protein first. When there is mostly protein in my system, it causes me the same problem. I'm not sure there is an answer for that. I had my gallbladder out in Nov. then the band in March. I never know from one day to the next if I'm going to be running for the bathroom or so clogged up that I can't go. I know...tmi, but it is the facts of life. Slim-Fast drinks and protein bars really "gas" me up some days and I have to be close to the bathroom other days, so that is not my solution either. I do drink them and eat them occasionally and I'm always in a hurry, so those are quick and easy for me.

Congrats to your son Lisa. And congrats to Pinkylee on selling the house. I went to Lake Tahoe for 4 days. I had never been before. We had a great time. I go back to work on Monday . Good news is....I was 175 this morning! We went to the gym each morning at the hotel we stayed at and went swimming twice, so that helped. I did have a really bad PB yesterday which lasted for 2 hours(sliming, etc.) UGH! I think it was from a chicken wing. Sorry-TMI! Have fun at your Dallas get-together. I wish I could be there!

Morning Junebies, Barbara- So sorry to read about all you have been through, I hope this slight unfill helps, I bet your starving!!!! My scale hasn't moved much, it goes down a few pounds and then plays pee-a-boo for the next few days. The only real problem I have had is (WARNING TMI) is constipation. The doctor has me on 3 tbls of milk of magnesia and 2 tbls of Benefiber everyday, and i still only go like every 5 days, and the 4th and 5th day it hurts. I would think all of that would make me really go!!!! Ok here is the biggie, TODAY is my FIRST day of not smoking. I decided if I was going to get healthy I needed to quit that nasty habit too! I really, really hope I can kick this habit without gaining any lbs back! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!!!!

It's not too much information at all... I'm day 2 post surgery, and I'm hoping for a major accomplishment of my own, maybe day 3 will be lucky for me too... LOL I'm not sure how long they'll keep me on protein shakes and clear liquid, they say two weeks on the post op guidelines, but also that they may start you on full liquids earlier depending on how you do. The only other exception they have to clear liquids and the protein shake is fat free sugar free yogurt drinks, I love the sillouhette (sp?) by Danon peach and passionfruit. I add benefibre (doesn't add thickness or flavour) and I add ISOWhey BreeZer protein powder, which is 0 fat, 1 gram carb, 20 gram protein powder and it's pineapple flavoured and -super- yummy, highly recommend it. They protein drink Dr. Cobourn has us use pre and post surgery is optifast, and I -hate- it, so I'm just doing one a day, and getting the rest of my protein and carb needs from the yogurt with the ISOwhey - which doesn't thicken at all, it even tastes great just mixed with water. I find having the constant protein is key for me to not feel hunger. Making sure I take chewable vitamins with iron and chewable calcium along with my protein so that my body has all the tools it needs to heal well. I go in for my first post op visit on monday, so will wait to weigh myself till I'm there in the office. Right now I'm focused on following the rules to avoid complications and on healing. When the steristrips come off I'm going to use scar reducing product as my scars heal to try to take good care of them too, there are some good products in the pharmacy now for healing scars. Speaking of TMI, my gas is so bad, I swear I pass gas about every half hour, and I never thought in my life I would look forward to passing gas. I want it out! Thankfully it's odor free.
