  3. part 2

I'll keep losing because its not even close to the calories I used to take in & this just keeps me tied over. I'm in no race to lose weight, I'm trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So if it doesn't melt off like Dr.Oh wants it too, I'm ok with that. I want to do this healthy. And his crash diet is so not that. I guess he has a poor reputation w/nutrionists in the area because he's not concerned w/nutrion, just weight loss. That can be dangerous. I found out his "nutrionists" at St. Francis aren't all certified, they are ex-patients of his. =O I know right! So be careful how far you take this liquid thing. Use your best judgement. But don't eat any meats!! Or even fish yet! Soft soft foods only. You don't want you stomach working hard to digest foods or the band can slip. Eat as much protein in fat free greek yogurts & fat free cottage cheese. It might help you feel human again. ;-)

  4. Hi......I read your comment in a blog post that you made sure you met the weight criteria when you got weighted. I'm in that same boat. In the morning I don't weigh enough. At night, I just cross the line into bmi 40. Do they weigh you with your clothes on? Thanks......jan

  5. I would like to wish you a Happy Birthday and best wishes on your Weight Loss Journey

  9. I will be running around naked with more in mind than weight if I can make it to be 185 by Valentines Day! That is my next challenge! LOL My sweet husband is so patient with me, lord knows he has to be! I have never seen him overweight in the 31 years we have been married! He is 6'2" tall and weighs about 175! He is really getting happy for me now. He sees the strength I am getting from losing the weight and working out at the Gym! I want to be able to hike along nature trails with him and travel a lot in our Golden Years! Keep in touch!

  11. BT,

You are so correct, but it is really hard for me to wait on things that's going to improve my life. I know my weight did not occur over night and there is no magic fix to my weight issues.

I guess am so ready to live the life without this weight I have always wanted to live. Sometimes it a pain that no one really understands unless they have walked in the life of an over weight person.

Again, I really appreciate your encouragement. Good luck with your scheduled date to be banded.

  12. How is your journey going with the band? I noticed that we are both in Virginia...and start weights and age are the same.

  13. Hey Meg!

Just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year! How's it going? How has your life changed since you've lost all the weight?

    Sandy

  14. I basically things that are harder to eat so I eat less of them, and Ive only had I think 3 or 4 fills. On a normal day for Breakfast Id have a small protien shake because I cant eat much in the morning. Lunch like a side salad, dinner I usually eat whatever my family wants just less of it. I always use a small plate because it feels more normal? I hate having a big plate thats all empty with other people around. LOL. I work at a gym so I work out semi often about 4 times a week. I do a little bit of everything at the gym about 30 min cardio. I also do some weights to try to aviod the flabby skin one day arms/then legs/abs ect. If you need anymore help just let me know sometimes this journey isnt as easy as it seemed in the begining its alot of work and determination, I hope you meet your goal for your hubby :)

  15. Glad to hear you are doing well! I am doing way better than expected on this 10 day liquid diet. (but I figured I'd be passed out by noon on the first day of starvation LOL! so anything is better than that right?!) I can only have 2 shakes a day, broth, sugar free drinks, a fudgesicle and a yogurt, and coffee with splenda. Thats it. Uuuugh...maybe I'll be able to drop a few pounds before surgery...get a jump on the process. How much have you lost on the preop? I could NOT imagine doing this through the holidays....wow! I think I gained 10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years! But this was actually the first Christmas that I ate and was not on a strick diet....i felt like a prisoner and the last meal, so i ATE! haha! That is wonderful that they are gonna fix your hernia while they are in there...I would hate to know going into one surgery that you were gonna have to have another one. Thats wonderful.

  16. I completely Know how you feel. I'm about 11 months out and had little to no restriction and it makes me unmotivated, because the weight doesn't come off despite exercise. The one time I was restricted, I could not eat more than 1 bit and even that came back up, so I had 1 cc unfilled. Now I've gain 15 pound, because I can eat normally. I'm not giving up either, but it's much harder than I thought it would be. I just wish there was a balance and I could enjoy eating a couple (2!) bites of food. Good luck and thanks for being honest about your struggle.

  17. I just looked at your pics today. I'm always commenting about your avatar. I always read your answers because you give such great advice. I was banded in August and have lost 30 lbs. but have been stuck for about the last month at the same weight. It's killing me I'm at 203 and every time I step on the scale I'm ready to throw it out the window. I've stepped up the work outs trying to get under 200 and it's just not happening. I read some of your post on running. I have bad knees (several knee surguries on both) and I'm trying to go slowly. I feel like an idiot on the treadmill at the gym jogging so slowly. I'm sure everyone is like get up and run but I keep telling myself what i read on one of your post...start slow and move up slowly and you avoided injury. Any other advice? I've been jogging/walking 2 miles M, W, F and doing 20 min on the eliptical bike and the machines on T, Th, S.

  18. I think your doing great! I'm finding my weight loss to be really slow also!! As long as we keep on losing right??Keep it up u really can see a difference in your before & after pic's!! Teal :)

  19. I'm still considering surgery...I'm terrifiied I will pay all of that money (I'm self pay) and won't lose the weight. what about you?

  20. hi, actually i have less reflux since losing weight. the only issue i have is when i had my band too tight.

    good luck

    josie

  21. Hi Cee-I am getting ready to go to a meeting, but I wanted to send you a quick response to your question on my picture. I just posted on my blog yesterday bc some people have asked me lately how my weight loss has been so good...here is a link to my blog Once Upon A Time...In the Land of Cheese and Sunkist

Check out yesterday's post. Then if you want, send me an email at amy.workman@gmail.com and we can compare notes!

  22. Hi there! How are you holding up with the pre-op diet? I think it gets harder every day instead of easier!!! Plus, it doesn't help I'm not having that tremendous weight loss with it everyone else seems to be having.

  23. Good for you as well! I go for my first fill on the 30th of December! Hope i can make it through the holidays without gaining any. I really have no cravings. I am however finding it very difficult to get all my protein in during the day. I know this is a learing process so i should be more patient. From what i have heard, it seems that the first fill will not provide a lot of restriction for very long. It seems that maybe the 3 or so fill is when we will really see the weight come off. Who knows only time will tell. Merry Christmas and a VERY Happy New Year to you and your new body!!!!!

  24. How you doing these days?? Looks like your doing good!! How's the weight loss coming mine has really slowed way down!! I'm having an xray on Wednesday to make sure my band hasn't prolapsed because sometimes I can eat too much and sometimes I can eat nothing!! It's crazy!! So we'll see...I hope your doing good, luv the new pics btw...looking good!! Happy Holidays!! Teal
