    NSV i was not expecting

Amen! I celebrated a NSV yesterday too... went to my one year check up (everything was great) and then had to go have lab work done. I always dread the lab work...no the actual stick itself...but the sitting in the lab chair. Yesterday as I sat down I realized that I had plenty of room in the chair...no longer did I have to squeeze or sit sideways!! It's a good feeling to fit places now!! Happy for your NSV!!
  2. Woohoo! farmgirl04! I like the results that you got from your ladies at the store. That in itself is a great NSV!!!!!
  3. I have been having pain in my hip for several years. Since I have rheumatoid arthritis I wanted to have a base line X-rays and MRI. I have had several MRI's in my life. In the past it was very painful small. Well as I laid on the bed I thought to myself wow I am going to enter the tube and have no issues. I went in and still had plenty of room to move around and be comfortable. As I laid there I thought about my year of post op victories and I was amazed at my accomplishments and how much I have changed. I came out of the tube smiling! Celebrate your victories big or small they seem!
  4. Prior to getting banded 3 weeks ago, I had lost 176 pounds through diet and exercise. Well the local YMCA used my story 2 years running for fund raising. They gave me trainers and every tool I needed for success at no cost to me! My insurance changed and they pay for my gym membership now only it is to 24 hour fitness. However I feel quite a bit of loyalty to the Y, they helped me so much I would not have gotten where I did with out their kind loving support. Well they called me2 weeks ago and ask if I would be willing to meet with them, my story that was featured on their FB page had gotten quite a bit of notice. Well last week I had a meeting with them and they ask if I would we willing to be in a 6 minute video shoot for the Y. Of course I said I would after all it was the least I owed them. Well a year ago someone bought me a beautiful long black dress that had a slit up the front, heals and all the accessories to wear to a formal dinner for the Y. My first White House Black Market dress size 14! Well the same person has offered to buy me another outfit for the video shoot this year. So off to Chico's I went got cute size 14 jeans with fancy sparkly pockets and a fancy denim jacket! Three weeks ago I was in a size 16 jeans, so that's a good NSV too! Thankfully I had 2 50% off coupons so both items were half off! But I have to say life keeps getting better and better! I never thought I would wear jeans with fancy pockets, as I never wanted anyone to notice my backside or really any other part of my body for that matter! I'm including a picture of me in the black dress from last years gala ball.
  5. Day 1 pic and today AND I just bought clothes at the gap and banana and they fit!!! And they weren't even the biggest size AND no one looked at me like I didn't belong AND no one asked me if I needed a gift receipt BIG DAY!!

    Total NSV

Was in a regular size lingerie store today and found some super cute PJs. Asked the sales girl how they fit and said that I seem to be fitting into a size large. She says "well I'm a size 10 and you are about the same size as me, so I'd get the medium." I had to fight back tears and the urge to kiss her full on the lips...lol WOO HOO!

    NSV!!

I am almost one moth post op and could slip on a pair of capri pants I have that I couldn't get over my thighs in July!!! so happy! down 23 lbs , I am so excited
  8. I'm really happy, 24 days out. We avoided complications, pain and horrors. We're both losing weight. And today I had a good and bad NSV although bad may not qualify as V? Good: I'm fitting into my smaller pants! Land's end elastic waist starfish pants, but went from XL to L. Yay me! Bad: I'm starting to show turkey wattles under my neck. Eeps! I worried about aging when I lost weight because the fat sure plumps out my 47-year face. I have very few wrinkles compared to women my age but again, artifact of fat I'm sure. This is normal, right? You can't lose 21 lbs in 4 weeks without getting some signs of aging, yes? This will lessen over time? Maybe? What's been your experience?

    Another NSV today

woo hooo!!! Those are great nsv's!! I need to go shopping too, but I get terrified! I'm pretty sure I'm not in plus sizes anymore, but every time I venture into the 'other' section, I feel like the plus size police will be waiting for me to drag me back to the plus size corner. haha

    Another NSV today

It's all good things.. buying a bra is such a pain... I used to wear Wacoal bra's because they were so much more comfortable than regular bra's.. now I can wear about anything .. going from 44D to 38C so far is a blessing.. I am starting to enjoy shopping more .. It's great to read about other folks and their NSV's it keeps me on track.. Good luck @ Kohl's.. we don't have one here.

    Another NSV today

Went to a consignment shop today and found this cute 3/4 length cotton shirt, it was so me, size 2X, just knew it would fit because it was Croft & Barrow from Kohl's and althought I love Kohl's their brands run small on me unlike your more expensive stores like Dillards or Macy's but I went ahead and tried it on, well with disappointment it was too big but on the otherhand joy joy joy, too big right? Needless to say I left with nothing. Guess I should hit Kohl's to see about 1X's on sale...I see I need to shop. Oh and another one, bought a bra yesterday, size 38DD, instead of a 40DD, I was wearing a 44DD when I started. I really wanted to buy the 38D but couldn't afford the Wacoal bra and didn't have time to try it on so I stuck with what I tried on.

Did 2nd fast day yesterday and wound up at only 400 calories. And that's a "back to back" fast. First I've done. But all vacay "extra" gone and back at my low. Did I say I LOVE this way of life! I do!! All my peeps, have a great day and log those calories! Globe, hope you are feeling better. OD, you'll get back to the 130s. FYE, congrats on the NSV from the HUBS! He's right! Laura, you are in the 150s!!!! Coops, I still need to know how HOT it is compared to my Heat Index last week of 110 degrees. Lol.

How was your 5:2 day today?

Oh how I miss you all... Haven't managed to read all posts ... Hope you are all well! In turkey at the moment and boy, it's hot hot hot! Mid 40s! The hotel is lovely, as is the copious amounts of foods on offer, but the sleeve is working well! No idea how many cals I'm getting in though. Not fasted yet, have skipped meals in an effort to stay in control but it is really hard. I am choosing as wisely as possible - trying to find the line between 'treats' and being piggish! Sticking to the diet coke and water rule... But also enjoying coffee and hot choc! However, the cups are tiny - prob a 1/3 of the mugs I use at home! On the up side, I've been to the gym, swam and taken some lovely long walks. Oh! And I treated myself to a massage! NSV right there! Weird not having my scales here... Clothes feel the same though so fingers crossed... Early days of the hols though...lol! You all take care and I'll pop back when I can! Hugs x

    298 Down to 98 - Can't Believe It!

I have the greatest NSV news ever! I got the results of my first labs post-op and my triglycerides went down from a whopping (for me- I know I wasn't the worst) 298 high risk to a normal range 98!!! My overall cholesterol count is now 178, down from 260. My LDL And HDL have also vastly improved. I was so happy I thought I might just float away! The last time those numbers were in the healthy range for me was in 1998, so you can understand my excitement If I ever had any doubts about having the sleeve, it would be because "what if my cholesterol stays the same? Will it be worth the risks just to come out of it with the same CHD risk factor?" Now I have my answer! If I never lose another pound, another inch or get back any discernable muscle tone, it has officially all been worth it to have been sleeved. I was 3 months out on August 6th: I am now 186 lbs and bought my first pair of size 14 pants yesterday. My bra size has decreased from 44DDD to 38DD and shirt size down from 2X to XL. Thanks to my sister for suggesting I look into the sleeve option and to Dr. Snyder for giving me this opportunity for better health and a longer life! Love to my sweet husband, family, friends and coworkers who have been positive and awesomely supportive from day one. I am truly blessed. I am sending out positive vibes to all my current and future sleeve sisters and brothers for success in your personal journeys, as well! Don't worry about speed, just stay focused on progress - no matter how incremental - and stay positive~ HappyCat xxx
