  1. I've been collecting products since before my first appointment 10/30/18; I know that many people caution against buying so much ahead of time, but I like having options and I understand my taste buds may change after surgery. I am using a lot of the products in the two plus months before surgery.

  3. 3/19 - It wasn't a bad day I stayed up quite a bit much of the day. Have to focus on walking more before it gets too hot to walk outside at all.   Pain was less, but insomnia has kicked in the last two nights

  4. So, my sleeve surgery went great! Little to no anxiety which is great... however, the pains from bloating and the ‘gas’ hurt so bad!!! Fever of 100.7 F so very low grade. Fluids are hard to get down bc of the extra full feeling I have from gas bubbles. I’ve walked, doing deep breaths, patted myself on the chest as if I was burping a baby... any other tricks and tips for getting rid of the gas stuff???
  5. 2019 - A New Year and a New Start on life!!!!

On 3/14 - I went into the Hospital at 6am to have my surgery <the sleeve>.   My weigh at that time was 278 pounds.   On this day I was in and out of it I don't remember a whole lot I just remember being in a lot of pain.

On 3/15 - They made me get up and walk a few times in the middle of the night and walk doctor came in and I was able to be discharged if I was eating and doing everything on his little checklist.   I went home at 6pm.  All I remember was going home crawling into bed and taking more pain medicine it felt like I got hit in the stomach about 50 times.

On 3/16 - I know they say that walking is the best thing you can do after having surgeries but I was not feeling it at all every time I sat up, I got dizzy needless to say this day I didn't get much walking in and the smell of food just made me gag.  I couldn't even take the pain medicine that was in liquid form.  I stayed in bed for most of the day.

On 3/17 - I did a lot better on this day I was actually able to eat a little bit of Jell-O and drink a little bit of broth.    Still can't seem to take that pain medicine without wanting to gag.   I definitely have been able to keep down water and even had my nephew take a little bit of Crystal Light and some ice chips and mix it in a bullet to make like a slushie.  That was yummy!

This brings me to today 3/18 - I have been trying to drink protein water to get protein in my body. I was able to eat some Jell-O today and keep it down. I also was able to sit up for 5 hours and was able to be sociable again.  I was also finally able to take some pain medicine again without gagging <Thank God>.     Pain is slowly going away.   I have my first one week doctor visit on 3/20 so we will see how that goes

    MAY 2019 SLEEVERS

Just was approved and scheduled for May 13, 2019 and I am happy as _______!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS MOMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Tomorrow is the big day for us schedule for March 12. I go in at 5:30 am for a 7:30 am surgery time. I'm only slightly nervous. Feeling mostly content with my decision and ready to get this done and start recovery. I've lost a total of about 53 pounds, 40 on the 6-month supervised diet and about 13 (I think) on the two-week liver shrink diet. My tummy got smaller so hopefully that's because my liver shrank as it should have. I should have about 105 to 110 pounds to lose after surgery to get to my ultimate goal. I'll try to update at some point after the surgery. Good luck and best wishes to all having surgery tomorrow. Here's to a new life of living instead of watching it pass us by. Update here, as you are able.
  12. So, I just but the bullet, (like 8 minutes ago!) and sent the deposit for my surgery. I’ll be heading off on the 16th for surgery on the 18th I’ve got a couple of trips away between now and then that my husband has been looking forward to for months and I didn’t want him to miss out otherwise I’d have booked for an earlier date, but hopefully those trips will make the time speed up a bit. Bring it on
  13. I had surgery 7 weeks ago. Everything went great until introducing regular food. 3 bites I fill with air, belch, feel horrible and usually get sick! I don't use straws, drink soda etc. I chew my food well as instructed in classes. Help!!
  14. Last Doctors visit was on 1/25/19 and weight was 224 lbs. that's a total of 31 lbs. lost from my starting weight.

  16. Even though its not a full 2 weeks, can that change anything? Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. Hi all I'm keen to form a group of Aussies who have had or are planning to have the Omega Loop Gastric Bypass weight loss surgery. I am scheduled to have the surgery on March 27th and would love to hear from people who have already had the surgery as well as those who have it planned for the future, so we share experiences and offer support. This is a life changing decision and I have so many questions about it. I've watched lots of You Tube videos and done plenty of research but would love to hear from people who have been through the experience. Cheers Burny63
  18. My surgery is on March 18 and I’m wondering if anyone else is having surgery around that time too? Hoping to connect with someone who may be on the same timeline.

  20. Finally got my surgery date March 19, 2019. I am excited and nervous if that is possible. Of course my family thinks I'm nuts, but they are very supportive. My insurance approved everything except dietician. Dr. Brebrick at Aspirus will be doing my surgery. He did my lap band removal and he was terrific. Ok this will be robotic surgery. When I went in to have my lap band removed I did not get the happy shot before they wheeled me in. Everybody was running around in masks, I looked up and saw this massive equipment hanging from the ceiling with all kinds of arms hanging out. All I could think of was "I saw this movie".LOL Anyway things went great and he made me take a 4 month recovery before he would give me a surgery date. I am ready to feel better and to live the next third of my life healthy.

  21. My operation was February 14th, 2019 - just lookin for some of you to converse with!!🌸🌸✨⚡️
  22. Anyone else having surgery in April? Maybe we can find surgery twins here. I thought I could start it off by asking a few questions. When is your surgery? April 4th What kind of surgery? Revision from sleeve to Mini Gastric Bypass Height? 5’8” Starting weight? 285 Goal weight? 175
  23. Howdy, I had bypass on 1/30/19 and was sent home the very next day. I immediately thought it was odd that I now have a large indention on the right side of my stomach with an incision in it. When I lie down the dent goes away. It’s extremely painful and gets warm to the touch. I’m almost 3 weeks post op and the indention and pain hasn’t subsided at all. I called/emailed/ and visited my dr and he said he may have hit a nerve while closing up or closed it too tightly and to give it time. I’m on round the clock liquid Tylenol and nerve blockers and am discouraged and frustrated by the lack of improvement. I extended my leave from work because It’s too painful to sit on the drive work let alone sit at a desk 8 hours and am worried about pushing it back any further. Has anyone else experienced something like this? If so, how long did your pain last and do you have any tips?
