  1. Well thats good sounds like your having a fun summer. I just got back from camping on monday, that was a blast, I love the open air and camp fires. LOL.

What you said makes sense, how they don't want us to loose it too fast, cause its not healthy. Well all we can do is keep on movin along. Talk to you soon.

  2. wow you look great! can I ask what is your secret? My surgery is July 31st 09- I weight 345 and have a LONG way to go. How did you lose so much weight so fast??Racnesa, (Ill)

  3. Have you read J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series? It's awesome! I hope they eventually make them into movies. I haven't read Twilight yet but I think I might. I saw the movie and I actually really liked it.

See, I've never PB'd or slimed. I do sometimes get some pressure in my chest if I eat too fast or take to big a bite though. I don't stay full for 4 hours like they say, even when I have solid protein. I got a fill today so I'm at 7.3 cc. I hope this one does the trick.

I'm what I call an inconsistent exerciser. I will do it 4 times one week and then none the next, then 2 times the week after that. I know I need to be better about it. I'm hoping to be 185 by my b-day so here's hoping!!

  4. It's going well now. It reminds me of that cliche motto for rehab, "It works if you work it." (Haven't been through rehab, but a friend has and we spent a good while mocking the obvious statement.) I lost about 30 lbs before I started eating fast food again. The portions were smaller, of course, but it's still high-fat food, so the weight loss was less and less. I got banded 12/30/08 and finally hit my -50lbs mark this week. But I'm pretty excited, because I lost 5 lbs (total, not each) these past 2 weeks just from not eating fast food junk anymore! LOL! I've also buckled down and gotten serious about working out. I can handle two days in a row, but have to take a break the third day and then start over again, lol. I did three days this week, but am gonna work up to five days for a while.

    How bout you?

  5. That's awesome. I know I was excited when I got my date for the surgery. They are doing it differently now though because I knew mine after my first appointment with Dr. Lutfi. Erin will have you go on a 2 week liquid diet pre op. I did the slim fast low carb and lost 20 pounds. I bought a case of 15 from Sam's club for about $20. Then after surgery I bought the sugar free jellos and sugar free popsicles. I had broth too. You will be on clear liquids the first 2 weeks then full liquids. On the full liquids I had the slim fast and the 80 calorie yogurt , jello, sugar free pudding. I even made egg white scrambled and added a slice of fat free cheese. Just wanted to give you an idea of what to look forward to post op. I got my staples out a week after surgery and was told I could exercise again. I walk and go to the YMCA. My seminar was Feb 17, my consultation was in March, that day I got my surgery date of May 18 so yeah you are close. I am excited for you.

  6. G'day, ur doing so well !!!! I have lost about 33lbs. A lot slower then i would like, but at least it is comming off. I have worked out it is only 1lb a week, I have 5.8cc in and think or rather am hoping by 6.5cc i will have reached my sweet spot. I can feel restriction if i eat fast and have had about 3 moments where i wondered if the food might go down but it only took a minute and i was fine. (that was with bread twice and steak once) Thankfully i am not at the point where i think i would vomit or anything. Going by only 1lb a week i should loose at least another 26lbs by the end of the year, that would mean i will be well over half way. It would be nice if i can make that goal or better yet a little more. My dream goal by the end of the year would be another 35lbs and then i will be under 200lbs and that will sound so much better :) By the way i am quite tall 174cm, lol.... cause i just thought 200lbs sounds bad too. lmao

  7. Yes, I live in the Northern San Diego area, but am going to Beverly Hills to have mine done the day before you. I have a friend that lives in Shermn Oaks. I am going to stay with her for a couple of days afterwards. I am just getting ready to start preop diet today. Any suggestions? I have been a little overwhelmed, as I am a 48 year old single mom with a full time stressful job. Everything happened so fast, just started the process 2 and a half months ago.

Would love to have someone to lend support too, as well. I am very excited for you and want to keep in touch.

  8. My surgery went great. Everybody is different but once my surgery was over, I wanted to walk around. I think I was in my room not even 5 minutes, and I asked the nurses if I could walk. I had dry mouth and felt like there was phlem in my throat but that was because of the breathing tube that they put in my mouth during surgery. They did give me some lemon swabs to take the dryness away. I didn't even have to ask for the pain meds, the nurses just came in and gave them to me whenever it was time. The heprin shots they give to prevent blood clots bruised me up. I stayed in the hospital overnight. Dr. Lutfi is very nice. I lost 37 pounds so far. 20 pounds I lost on the 2 week preop diet drinking slim fast low carb. The other 17 pounds I lost after the band was placed, but it seems it has slowed a bit because I am back on solid foods now. I have my first fill on July 14th. It is worth it though. So have you went to any classes yet?

  9. Yea I would say go to the beach but with what just happened with your incision I would hold off on that! I'm down 55 lbs so far. i'm a pretty steady loser. Down 29 lbs already? Wow. That is so awesome. Have you gone down a size in clothing already? I lost so fast in my upper body and now my body is starting to shift. It's weird. I"m a size 18/20 on top and a 24 on bottom. 24's are starting to get too big on me so soon I'll be in size 22. I haven't worn size 22 in 10 years. I can't wait! It will be weird the day I no longer have to shop in the plus size clothing section. That hasn't happened since I was 15! Well have a good one. Glad your incision is OK hope it heals good for you! Later!

  10. Thanks Keith, and congrats to you on the 100# mark – that is a huge milestone. I think the weight training and protein have been key in getting the BF where I want it. I am about due to get tested again and think I am closer to 13% now. Can you believe it? Me at 13% BF, I still think it’s unbelievable. Truth be told though, some people are saying I look a little too skinny – which is sort of true. I haven’t been able to tone up all of my muscles fast enough. So while it’s true I have very little fat left, I still have quite a bit of work to do on the muscles. It’s all good though, I love going to the gym now.

  11. Hey Linda! I understand being nervous, I was too! But it will go by so fast and you'll feel fine. I just did my weekly weigh in today and I hit 70 lbs which was my Thanksgiving goal! I'm excited. I don't have any regrets, but I won't lie, it has been a bit of a struggle for me. I've had 4 fills and I still don't feel restriction. But I realize this is not the case for everyone. Some people only need 1 or 2 fills and they find their sweet spot. All in all, I am happy I did it because just knowing that I have this "tool" to help is a great relief.

  12. Hi Shelley! I have been at 49 for about 1.5 months. I am stuck right now too! I got a fill last week and I can tell a difference. Hopefully this will help give me a little boost! And yes, what you are talking about happens to me too! And the doctor says its normal! I have my moments and a lot of it depends on the situation when I am actually eating. I have to sit down and relax and not RUSH! That always gets to me! I just can't eat fast! Please keep me posted on your progress too! Take care! Laura

  13. Hey here is a link I found too just typed subway after band into google. I hope the toasted thing works no one else has mentioned that yet! Congrats on your band!!!

  14. WOW! that was fast weightloss for you! GREAT! I just had my year anni sept 25th.

  15. Well thanks for the add! Great job on your weight loss! I'd say 30lbs in a month is something to be proud of! Mine is really not as bad as others I have spoken with. 2 meals are protein shakes which I adore! My fave is one I invented chocolate-cherry-banana YUM! The 3rd meal is soup, snacks I can have sf/ff yogurt, pudding, or jello. And the fact that I dropped 8 in 6 days, shoot I must be doing something right : )

I took my son for a walk before we ran errands earlier. It was only about 20 min. but hey i was walking as fast as my fat butt would let me and pushing his 26 lbs in his car, lol. Well I have already had a c-section so I don't figure this pain to be near that. My goal is 145 or a little lower and I am only almost 5'3". So I am really going to try to push being stricter on this last week. I go get bloodwork done on friday. How long would you say I would have to go without picking up my 18 month old?

    HUGS, Starla

  16. Wow Chels, you're whooping everyone at this weight loss stuff. I can't believe how fast you're doing this... the weights just melting off of you. What's your secret? You're an inspiration to all!

  17. Oh Congrats on your decision. Believe me, everything move so fast. What ins do you have?

  18. I'm having my lapband done on monday 11-19-09. I was suppose to fast but had a hard time somedays. Do you think this is a problem? How long is it before you get your first full?

  19. Giiiiiiirl I'm doing fabulous! I love my band! This whole process has been up and down and up and stall and up and down! It's been a mental and emotional roller coaster figuring out my issues and working through them. But where I'm at today is, down to 238 lbs and already a size 18, that was a shock to me! At this pace I could be a 200 lb size 14 chick! That'd be pretty awesome!

That is awesome you recovered so fast. Day 2 for me I was off the pain meds and day 3 I was back to takin' care of my 2 boys by myself. I'm excited to keep up w/ your progress.

  20. :tt2:Hi

I was banded on the 27th of August and I am feeling really good. I have lost a total of 21 lbs pre-op and post-op. I know we are supposed to lose slowly but I want to lose fast. Started exercising this week. On a mushy diet for this and next week then I can introduce soft foods.

  21. Hello,

Sorry I just got back to you. I haven't been on here in awhile. How did the seminar go? For me the seminar really convinced me to do the whole process. I was self pay and I think it is worth it. I think you have to mentally prepare for the procedure such as really changing eating habits prior to the surgery. The next part is consultation, and they decide if you need it or not or if you will be on a contract to lose a certain amount of weight. I think that was the hardest part for me to find out if they would accept me or not. It felt as though this was my last option and if they said no, I would have been devasted. The process went pretty fast since I was self pay, which I was happy about. The surgery made me nervous as I have never had surgery before, but it went great. I hope my info helped. Keep me updated on the process and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

  22. Me too!! I really have to concentrate when I eat or it will get stuck like you said, and the pain is horrible. I've thrown up more than I care to count, but that's because I eat too fast. I'm working on it though. Good luck! Have a great weekend!!

  23. I'm great thanks! I think I'm finally at that "sweet spot" that they talk about. I'm not hungry in between meals any more. Thank goodness! I had lost 39 about a week ago, so probably 40 by now. I have had a few issues with eating too fast, but other than that, everything is great. I still haven't gone down any sizes though.?? You see all these people on these magazines who lost 25 lbs and go down 15 dress sizes. hahah Not me!

  24. I am doing ok! I have had a few intollarences, but i really think its because im still trying to eat to fast. I am still trying to make lifestyle adjustment woooooooooo they are not always easy!!

  25. It will so worth it,you'll see!! You"ll probably be surprised how fast the weight will come off!! Good luck with everything!!
