Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

ALERT.....TMI....Read with Caution!!! Not having a good week! Trouble with hard Protein ALL week. So yesterday I did only liquids.... 2 SF, FF lattes, coffee in the morning, 1 cup tomato Soup for lunch (125 calories for 1/2 can, Janet), glass of wine. So... was feeling pretty okay by late afternoon so I had a small mac and cheese lean cuisine for dinner. WRONG ANSWER! PB'd ... well, just slimed, really, and was extremely uncomfortable the rest of the evening..... do you gals get that pain in your shoulders again when you're tight or stuck??? I sure do... thought I was going to die. So I stayed up until midnight and then went to bed with 2 huge pillows and a small one under my head. Woke up coughing up stuff at 1:30 a.m. and that was about the end of my sleep. Have a call in to my band dr because I coughed up brown slime all night long. Hope it's not blood. Earl's been working on taking the stains out of the sheets and my night shirt all morning because a couple of times I dozed off and then wasn't prepared with Kleenex when I woke up coughing and barfing. I went through about a half a box of Kleenex I think! It was horrible. Similar experience about a week or so ago.. but this was much worse this time. And all the coughing made my lungs hurt. So... doing liquids again today. Tracy & Jim are on their way over and they're going out to lunch.. I know they're going to ask us to go with them.. but only if they're going somewhere that I can get soup.

Okay...going to whine. It is a pity party for 1. Let me list what is wrong. 1. I hurt... I mean REALLY bad. Had to take a pain pill. 2. I am so swollen. 3. Because I have done NOTHING since surgery and for about 3 weeks before surgery my pants don't fit. Cried in the dressing room yesterday for the first time in a long time about things not fitting. 4. I had a deep cleaning/root planing at the dentist and now on top of everything else hurting my mouth hurts. 5. I was exhausted all day and now that it is getting close to bed time...I'm WIDE awake. 6. I can't drive and I'm sick of being in the house. Lee is off with our gaming group learning how to play a game. Then tomorrow he is going back to actually play the game which takes about 6-7 hours. I am REALLY glad that he is going, but I'm tired of being at home. But even if I could drive I won't drive because of all the freezing rain. I'm not mad at him at all. I was the one who convinced him to go. 7. I can't go to the gym and run and I really need that outlet. I can't do anything at the gym until I see the doctor on Friday. 8. I can't take a bath and I want to (I know...petty but damnit I want a bath!!) 9. I am hungry all the time lately and it is really hard to stay in calories. I talked to the doctor today and she doesn't want me counting calories at all. She said I am in the most critical stage of internal healing and I need the calories. But go back to the previous reason that my clothes don't fit and you will understand my frustration. 10. I have a yeast infection (TMI!) from hell. She said to try the over the counter stuff and if it doesn't get better she will give a Rx for the pill on Friday. But meanwhile I have to survive until Friday. 11. My boss is gone at work and the jackass English teacher is in charge. It just sucks when Michael (my boss) and our secretary are both gone. We have no way to buy anything and we ran out of copy paper today. 12. I'm up to my neck in work and I have no energy to work on it. Even when I'm wide awake I am exhausted. Exhausted to the point that I can't even hardly function. Well I think that is it. I'm really questioning my sanity on this surgery. I should NOT have done it seeing that this was the first year at the charter school. But I so desperately wanted it done. I do have a plan to get the weight and sizes off. But there isn't much that I can do until I can go to the gym and work it. I already have my running schedule worked out assuming I can be back to running by Feb 1. My trainer always has me working on 2 goals at a time. No more, no less. So my two goals are 1. By May 2 (the day of my half marathon) to be back to 155 and back in my size 4's (if my thighs will let me!!) If my thighs prevent me from getting in my 4s because of muscle mass I will happily take my 6s! 2. By May 2 be able to run my half marathon under 2:30. Those are two reasonable goals I think. She may make me change the weight goal to a body fat % goal, which is fine. I am more worried about my size than my weight. Sorry for being a downer...I just needed to whine.
  3. i agree.....TMI....my area down there is easier for Mr. to get to 🤣

Janet, drink drink drink...Keeps you energy up. But I know what you are saying. Coffee actually will stimulate bowel movement...TMI, but it does work. I have been up for awhile. Still a little queezy, so it must be a bit of a virus. Going to pretty much stay on liquids again today. Haven't really been hungry, just craving salt. Very unusual for me since I am usually a sweet freak. Hey, I'm game for Belize. I want to zipline and swim in the phosphorescent bay. Snorkel in the coral reef. Lounge on the beach and drink tropical drinks with little umbrelas!! Now I just need to start saving. Maybe we could find a cute cabana boy.... Work today, then 2 days off. So when I get home and get everything watered, back to the down sizing. I'm trying to be ruthless. I have laundry started, dishes washed, Cpap machine cleaned. I'm going to start hinging stuff today, pictures, etc. Then I need to finish build the dogbeds and stain the dog gates. Well best get back to getting ready. Janet, have a good day. Hey, when you are in Vegas, why don't you win about $10,000 and then we can go to Belize without having to stay. I'd carry your luggage if you bought my ticket with your winnings!!! Check in tonight!

Congrats on the RV Candice! Looks nice! Joint replacement class all morning... learned a lot. Was pleased because some people inferred it might be a waste of time and it was NOT! Have a whole folder of stuff to look at, including "Sex after Joint Replacement", complete with pictures of suggested positions! Old people pictures! TMI! At least they all have clothes on! LOL! I do have a new list of questions for the ortho surgeon when I see him for my pre-op appt next week.... none related to the afore mentioned pamphlet! Phyl, I gotta find some 'new' positions!!! Can you email me?? Remember, Peter dosn't have an artificial knee... but I am sleeping with a RETIREE now - so I am sure there are some adjustments that we need to be making:tongue_smilie: Also, the RV dosn't have a QUEEN size bed, its only a DOUBLE >>>> :nanahump: I don't know how we are going to sleep in THAT... when we are used to a KING in the house..OMW :wink2: Shopping for a new flat screen TV this weekend to put in the van. Then Peter is going to remove 1 or 2 of the seats and make an armoir for extra closet space. There is a microwave and a toaster oven built in..

Linda, you are right, we don't teach writing anymore AND the killer is the grading. With all my master's stuff I haven't graded a paper in over a week, not good. I am just going to have to find a way to simplify it for this year. Not proud of it, but it is all I can do. My principal came and talked to me about who they are going to hire for my long term sub. It is a teacher that use to teach at our school, but when they sold their property for 6.9 million, yes MILLION dollars she retired. My youngest daughter had her and loved her. She taught mainly 1st and 5th grade, and her strength is not science, but she knows the system and possibly some of the kids. I know I will be able to walk away and not worry about a thing. I wish my surgery was tomorrow, I am hanging out about 4 inches and having difficulty going to the bathroom. Last night I had to shove everything back in just to have a bowel movement...I know TMI! We did have some good news yesterday. My co-worker that has been diagnosed with breast cancer got her results back from the test for the genetic marker for cancer (her mom died of breast cancer when she was 9) came back negative. So she will NOT have to have a bi-lateral massectomy or hysterectomy. They will be able to do a lumpectomy and radiation!!! What a blessing. Love you all, but I have a paper to crank out, TTFN

Hi ladies. I feel so discombobulated. It's like living in a new house. I don't know how I'll function. Good thing you are all here with me though. I'd be lost without you all. There were things I was going to say...hmmmm.... Phyl, old people sex. LMAO!!! I wanted to die! With their clothes on...are you kidding me? That's way to freaking funny. Did you share that one with Earl? hehehe...tmi...tmi....sorry. Candice, when you head south you can drive west to Montana, spend some time in Glacier and Yellowstone....see Karla and me...and THEN go south. You know what I'm going to tell Jeff tonight during pillow talk....how unfair it is that we can't retire :wink2: You are such a bad influence :nanahump: Denise, I'm missing the idea of going back to school...but not. I love the first few weeks. I love shopping for classroom stuff. I love it when the kids are still afraid of me. I love torturing the 7th graders. By the time they are freshman they knew I was just a big softy...but good times up until then :Banane56: Here's wishing you smooth sailing. Janet, the walk is 3mph for 8-10 hours depending on the time you spend at rest stops. They have stops every 3ish miles. They are mixed....one will be a grab and go, the next a full service food stop, the next a grab and go...they say you should be eating at every stop and drinking one to two bottles of water/sports drink between each. I heard that it's very common to come back 5-10 pounds heavier after the walk...but that most of it is Water weight from being overhydrated. I'm really excited to do the walk. The videos make it look so moving. I tear up everytime I watch one. I might have to up my zoloft dose to make it through  Maybe next year I'll sign up for San Diego and then you can join the team. Don't give me that, I could never. You're a machine!!! We all know you could. Karla, help me out. Teaching, nursery...what is job #3? What about taking in alterations? everyone needs jeans hemmed. Just a thought. There has got to be something....oh oh oh....driving bus!!! Bus drivers get paid good money and they have short hours. When our teachers sub bus driving they get to leave school early, or come late....and the guy across the hall said he got almost $200 a day. I think he might be exaggerating but maybe not. Might be something to look into. Lots of times he got paid to drive bus while he was teaching by doing field trips and stuff. Okay...Jeff is going to kill me if I don't go to bed. Went to the drive in tonight. He has to leave here at 430 tomorrow morning and then the kids and I leave here while hes gone. So....until I check in again....have a good one. Oh...going to be at Rose's and at the lake so it will be spotty me checking in. Don't panic. I should be home NEXT Sunday at the latest. Love you girls!!! Have a great week.

Oh and I forgot as a big bonus today, I just had a bowel movement! LMAO. I NEVER THOUGHT ID BE SO HAPPY TO SEE ONE COME! Sorry, TMI, but all gastric surgery patients will approve this message!
  11. How long did it take you to have a bowel movement after your RNY? I hear it can take up to 7 days to have one…not liking that idea so I’ve been taking miralax daily so far. How long for you? Did you need something to help get it going? 😜
  12. Lol, this is one of my fav NSVs too. I'll take the TMI a little further even (because if we can't do this here then where else?) and share that I can't get over being able to see between my thighs when I sit down, that there is "space" and a visible kitty cat. lol!!

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

For those are you who are not on FB... this is my post yesterday. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME !!!! You don't want to go through this ! two things happened today. Foamies ... and the horrible.. absolutely horrible dumping syndrome. Let me tell you folks... do not eat or drink anything new if you are not at home. Had to make an emergency stop at Whataburger and I spent at least 45 min cleaning up the walls, floors with a mop, and using lots and lots of their bleach. if it's TMI, GOOD... don't ever eat or drink anything that would cause this, it's horrible !!
  14. I had a cast Iron stomach before surgery. Very rarely would food make me ill. Post op, things don't make me "sick" per se (no nausea, vomiting) but I never know what will send me to the bathroom. And it changes from day to day. Also, before surgery (sorry if TMI), but if I had to have a BM and I was out in public/mall/running/shopping/whatever, I could "hold" it until I got home. Not anymore - gotta go gotta go! And sometimes when I gotta go, my tummy cramps. I definitely didn't have that kind of urgency pre-op. As far as complications are concerned, my recovery was fabulous. I didn't feel bad at all. My gallbladder did have to be taken out about 9 months post-op.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

I am starting to feel a little more grumpy. But I think part of it is the fact I'm so limited in what I can or cannot do. I want to clean my house, run my household, and be left alone to my own devices. But I have SO many people here right now. I also had two bowel movements (TMI, am I right?) today so I think I will keep taking the Miralax, but halve the amount because while it isn't diarrhea, it definitely wasn't solid.

Becky your food intake for the day sounds good and nothing wrong with fruit and veggies I consider them all most free food - especially veggies even corn - I know all the diets say to stay away from corn and carrots but heck 1/2 cup of them is better than 1/2 of tatos or Pasta or rice and not as many calories.. If you are hungry eat extra veggies - I have always done that - and for me it works - I also eat those 100 calorie packs of popcorn at night when I need that munch factor.. Also, Becky you have to eat to lose - we equate no eating to losing weight but really you just have to eat healthy (you get more food when you take out all the fats & sugars)... Me personally I have to be able to eat 1 to 1 1/2 cup for dinner - I would die on half a cup of food per meal.. As far as your restriction with your 1st fill - it will depend on how aggressive your doc it - mine is - but my 1st fill only lasted about 2 or 3 weeks and I had to go back for another one. but that 2nd one was my sweet spot.. Tmi subject I had the runs for the first few weeks after surgery - I finally took some imodiom and it stopped.. Lori the hair loss issue - My hair dresser says its the lack of fat in our diets that causes the hair loss - and I seem to beleive her - I have a gf who did just medifast and lost her hair - she got plenty of protein and no surgery so we can't blame that - but when I ask her about the fat issue she said yes she cut it out almost entirely... Keep healthy fats in your diet - I did and was lucky not to lose any... Thankfully cuz I have fine hair to begin with - really can't stand to lose any... I have some chewable calicum that I really like it's not the citrate kind but it's still calcuim - and someone said that their doc said that really it's the bypass pple who need the citracte - I'm not a doc so don't take my word for it and never take my word over your doc -but I am the kind of person who does what works for them.. My biggest problem is with the chewable multi vitimans - I don't care for them and I need to take them more often cuz I a bruising...

Morning Gang! I am packed and ready to roll. I guess I will get the"pat down" today. DH always does because of his knees. My traveling son called this morning and asked if I was ready for a cavity search. I told him it shouldn't be any worse than a colonoscopy. He said EEEWWWW.....TMI. The joke was on him. The weather here is great......same as Vegas only humidity. I lost another lb, but found it. I haven't been able to go to the gym this week.....I have walked. I will be getting serious when I get back. Okay peeps........I'll post on Friday night! I have my phone so you can always text me. Love Y'all!!!!!!

Well I'm three days out and got a bad case of head hunger today not real hunger just my other half had steak and my son had pizza and it was stuffed crust!!! I am having a hard time with my liquid in take everything tast so weird to me I cant finish a Popsicle with out feeling like I'm going to bust on a good day I am getting in around 44Oz a day and I'm making sure what I do get in has electrolytes I have one incision that is really sore and I have been Laying on my back and putting my feet up like when I had my son and it pushes the gas out tmi! I know but the gas is such a killer just trying to stay hydrated!! I can finally sleep on my right side forget about the left side it is way too sore! I hope all the posters are doing good and all the ones still waiting are staying sain!
  20. Did your doctor at least give you UTI antibiotics? My urethra hates me and I get UTI's a few times a year. As a point of possibly TMI, I have had 2 UTI's in the last month. One of them I didn't even need the test because there was blood in the urine, but the test came back positive, the second time earlier this week, the test was negative, but within 24 hours of taking antibiotics, my symptoms had started to clear up. A UTI test doesn't always pick up the problem so maybe ask your doctor to give you some antibiotics and see if it helps clear it up. Also, you can take those AZO tablets at the drug store. They turn your urine orange, which is weird, but they do help relieve some of the symptoms. Oh and a heating pad between my legs does wonders for the urgency and burning feeling. Past that, I have not had any issues with Protein shakes causing that sort of problem, at least to my knowledge. Hope you feel better!
  21. I'm trying to get more informed everyday before my surgery on Thursday, but all this talk of dumping and frothing are really making me nervous! It feels like the more I know, the less I really do! I guess you just have to experience it yourself. ( TMI) I've had hemorrhoid surgery, and after that, I believe I can handle this. I'm also afraid my family is going to get sick of this process before it's over.

    I'm here to help...

Good Morning...about ready to hit the shower (should have done it hours ago but lolled around eating bf). Heading up to see FIL today. Taking Tanker as FIL is tolerent of him. He is not a dog person but likes Tanker and we do not want to leave him....even though he handles being here alone just fine. He adjusted to his new digs quickly. I had my first public PB last night at dinner. I never really knew what ppl were talking about when they explain having to quickly find a RR. Eva took us to a steakhouse (best steak I've ever had) and I order a filet. No problems whatsoever eating it. (I always drink when I eat) Had one bit of my steak to go and took a drink and KNEW I'd better run. TMI....the only thing that came up was Water and little bit of lettuce. It must of rearranged things down there cuz after that happened I was perfectly fine. I guess after almost 3 yrs of being banded, I could expect at least one episode like that. Sandy....I bet you are soooooooo excited about Cancun. You've been pretty booked lately and deserve some time to relax. Happy to hear your dad is doing better. OK...I have to hit the shower so we can head out. Excited to see the little man (FIL). Have a great Sunday...I know we will.

    I'm here to help...

Janet, my restriction is probably perfect...it's my choices. I know it's part of my addiction and the reason I'm here. One thing I must say, if it wasn't for the band, I'd have gained everything back by now and more. I need to wrap my mind about my choices and the days I do, I'm fine....it's those days I let stress or any other excuse rule, then I get in trouble. So I'm getting that most of us are noise sensitive. I am too. The smoke alarms are very annoying and I cringe when they go off. All then noise is one of the things about Vegas I don't care for. I can only handle it for a little while. Our trip will be the perfect length!! Cheri, sugar-free candies and other things are are often sweetened with sorbitol. Sorbitol can cause gas in some people. It does for me and for another friend of mine. She can't tolerate any sorbitol. It's one of the reasons I don't eat sugar free stuff often. I take Fiber Choice chewables and that causes gas too, but it's weird, that gas works it's way out easily...every time too. Sorry if that is TMI. So sorry about your DD's hair cut and the stress it is causing. Maybe she could try another place to try and fix it? Cute story about the naughty GS and being naughty...yep sometimes that is more fun. Charlene, your grand baby is adorable! She does look like she's smiling and happy to be here. Thanks for the synopsis on the anti aging face stuff. I like nutrogena moisturizer with sunscreen stuff. It helps keep the blemishes at a minimum (I don't break out with it). You'd think at 54 you wouldn't have to worry about blemishes. Good for you and your walk. Welcome back Gwen. 1/2 pound a week is still progress. Lap band is not bypass and it does work slower. Have patience and be committed and it will come off. I got up to let the dog out and now I'm reading LBT. Good thing it is Saturday morning and I don't HAVE anything to do in the morning. Took my Jeep in yesterday and had new tires put on. Walked back and forth to the shop (through the mall) and ended up buying two pairs of pants, a skirt, and a blouse. Since most of you are bargain hunters, one pair of pants was $52 regular and I got them for $26. These are black cargo pants that roll up. I've been looking for a pair of black pants, but don't care for the knit ones, so these look ok, if a little casual. The other pair are capris and were $8. The skirt was marked down from $59 to $14 and the blouse was $7. I'm good with that. So now I'm ready to drive to Vegas and have some new duds too. I'm trying to control my shopping because I want to shop in Argentina. I want some leather goods. Okay, I'm going back to sleep. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Eva

I'm very impressed with your successes. I've been banded since December 2009, and I'm down 56 pounds. I've been sick with the seasonal nasty cold for about 3 weeks. I'm feeling much better this week, but my stomach is really bothering me. I have what feels like lots of gas pain and some diarrhea and some hellacious heartburn which I have not had in the past. Sorry, if TMI, but I just wanted to get your take on what could be going on. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
