    July sleevers please check in..

NSV today! I went to the lane Bryant Labor Day sale today. Before surgery I was wearing a 26/28. I tried in 22/24 today and they were too big- by A LOT!! I bought 18/20 and they fit perfect!!! So excited!!!
  4. This morning I woke with a tiny bit of annoying shoulder pain but only because I slept wrong. Today I am able to lay on my side and my tummy without any gas pain at all!! I coughed this morning and it wasn't very bad and I'm able to laugh without a pillow over my stomach/port area. I am walking faster and feel great! These may seem little but they are HUGE to me. :-)
  5. My first NSV since having surgery one month ago would be when I went for massage on Friday (my birthday present from coworkers), and the towel they gave me to cover myself actually covered me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last time I was mortified when it didn't cover and they gave me a sheet instead I have only lost 23 pounds but I think it all came from my booty! LOL

    favorite NSV's/most anticipated NSV's

i started as a man standing 5'6" weighing 373lbs, wearing a 56 inch waist jeans and a 5-6x shirt. now, i'm still 5'6" (a nurse measured me at 5'6.5" and i laughed saying my spine must have decompressed) i wear a 30" waist jeans and a 1x shirt. my favorite nsv's so far? 1. i ran a 5 k with my teenage son and i didn't die. and at the end, he told me that HE was proud of ME. that's probably my best one 2. don't have to wait for a table, a booth is fine. 3. i can tie my shoes without holding my breath or passing out 4. buying clothes at the thrift store (because we all know that us overweight people wear stuff till it's falling apart and cant be donated) 5. doing things with my kids that i just didn't have the energy or desire to before 6. not having to ask my wife to cut my toenails for me 7. being able to wear the 1 piece of clothing that i kept all these years because i couldn't bear to throw it out when it didn't fit me anymore. 8. i get an extra 5 miles a gallon on my motorcycle 9. let's face it.......... skinny sex is better
  8. I was measured by my trainer on June 4th, and then today........ Drum roll please!!!! 18.5 inches lost!!!! And I bought my first pair of Buckle jeans.... I am in awe at all that I have accomplished since my banding April 1st.... 67 pounds down and feel so much better! Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

  12. I'm spending Labor Day weekend with DH at a lovely old restored hotel. The mirror in the room is a skinny mirror! It's slightly distorted and makes me look 5'9 and 140 lbs instead of 5'4 and 192 LOL. Gives me a glimpse of what the future holds...wish I could take it home with me, but it's screwed to the wall...heehee

jenien no, no, no!!! no such thing as minor victory kindof conflict in terms keep those NSV's comin' they all count, and make our day kathy congrats
  15. I dont recognize myself and then i see all the wrinkles. my skin is falling off. so far this is an nsv for me, i am nearly 60 and have no illusions left. I see it as a badge of success. the only one that even comes close to bothering me is the belly. I shall see what it looks like when (if?) i get to goal and maintain it for a while. It would be interesting to get it removed at that time but from what i can tell the panniculectomy seems to be a far tougher surgery than the sleeve and i did not have the easiest time with that one.

    Welcome

NSV: Starting out at 350 lbs looking at my pre-op diet and thinking how am I going to do this? Dieting is not my strong point and I have to go on a liquid diet? My surgery is next Tuesday and this morning the scale reads 307!! I have to admit the first few days were not fun, but I feel like I scored!

Holding my 3 year old son on my hip and feeling him wrap his legs around me... Wasn't possible with a big round belly, didn't have the "shelf" of my hip to sit on, if that makes since 10. 22. Well I have quite a few but my most recent one is when I was getting ready for work I wanted to wear these Forever 21 jeans I bought while living in Europe . It's been a year since I have been able to wear them . Well I put on my spanx and was ready to huff and puff to zip them up. Lo and behold , they slid right up and was falling down by mid morning . I tried another pair from Forever 21 and lets just say I needed a belt bad - Size 18. 2 months ago I was in a tight 24/26, now a size 18 is too big . Wow ! Had my surgery July 5 th . Pre Op: 319 Day of surgery : 306 Curr: 272 Loss: 47 lbs

    Fat girl googles

Hi there I went from a 24 to a 12 a few years ago (and gained it back plus a lot more...) but anyway. I had those same feelings when I lost weight the first time around but keep pictures of yourself before you lost the weight as a reminder. Another suggestion is to get wrist/ankle/body weights that people work out in and put on the amount you lost and try to walk around (do have someone with you when you do this, get a doctor's approval as well and make sure you a physical fit to do it!) but this will remind yourself how it feels to carry that extra weight. I wish I did that. Now I look at my old pictures and I just would do anything to go back to that size! Hopefully I will soon though, come on sleeve. lol Good luck on your journey and keep accomplishing goals - even NSV. Appreciate your victories, treat yourself to a new hair style or a massage and make sure you feel good about yourself. You will see it one day.
  24. I notice the difference a lot. I normally smile and ignore it. I put it into my NSV victory folder!

    NSVs!

My NSV of today is being able to comfortably sit in those horrid wire patio chairs that restaurants have! Haven't sat in one of these without being squashed into it with my butt bulging out & the blood flow to my thighs being cut off in forever!! Now I have room to spare!! Fellow Sleevers - what are your NSVs?
