Good Morning...about ready to hit the shower (should have done it hours ago but lolled around eating bf). Heading up to see FIL today. Taking Tanker as FIL is tolerent of him. He is not a dog person but likes Tanker and we do not want to leave him....even though he handles being here alone just fine. He adjusted to his new digs quickly. I had my first public PB last night at dinner. I never really knew what ppl were talking about when they explain having to quickly find a RR. Eva took us to a steakhouse (best steak I've ever had) and I order a filet. No problems whatsoever eating it. (I always drink when I eat) Had one bit of my steak to go and took a drink and KNEW I'd better run. TMI....the only thing that came up was Water and little bit of lettuce. It must of rearranged things down there cuz after that happened I was perfectly fine. I guess after almost 3 yrs of being banded, I could expect at least one episode like that. Sandy....I bet you are soooooooo excited about Cancun. You've been pretty booked lately and deserve some time to relax. Happy to hear your dad is doing better. OK...I have to hit the shower so we can head out. Excited to see the little man (FIL). Have a great Sunday...I know we will.

Janet, my restriction is probably perfect...it's my choices. I know it's part of my addiction and the reason I'm here. One thing I must say, if it wasn't for the band, I'd have gained everything back by now and more. I need to wrap my mind about my choices and the days I do, I'm fine....it's those days I let stress or any other excuse rule, then I get in trouble. So I'm getting that most of us are noise sensitive. I am too. The smoke alarms are very annoying and I cringe when they go off. All then noise is one of the things about Vegas I don't care for. I can only handle it for a little while. Our trip will be the perfect length!! Cheri, sugar-free candies and other things are are often sweetened with sorbitol. Sorbitol can cause gas in some people. It does for me and for another friend of mine. She can't tolerate any sorbitol. It's one of the reasons I don't eat sugar free stuff often. I take Fiber Choice chewables and that causes gas too, but it's weird, that gas works it's way out easily...every time too. Sorry if that is TMI. So sorry about your DD's hair cut and the stress it is causing. Maybe she could try another place to try and fix it? Cute story about the naughty GS and being naughty...yep sometimes that is more fun. Charlene, your grand baby is adorable! She does look like she's smiling and happy to be here. Thanks for the synopsis on the anti aging face stuff. I like nutrogena moisturizer with sunscreen stuff. It helps keep the blemishes at a minimum (I don't break out with it). You'd think at 54 you wouldn't have to worry about blemishes. Good for you and your walk. Welcome back Gwen. 1/2 pound a week is still progress. Lap band is not bypass and it does work slower. Have patience and be committed and it will come off. I got up to let the dog out and now I'm reading LBT. Good thing it is Saturday morning and I don't HAVE anything to do in the morning. Took my Jeep in yesterday and had new tires put on. Walked back and forth to the shop (through the mall) and ended up buying two pairs of pants, a skirt, and a blouse. Since most of you are bargain hunters, one pair of pants was $52 regular and I got them for $26. These are black cargo pants that roll up. I've been looking for a pair of black pants, but don't care for the knit ones, so these look ok, if a little casual. The other pair are capris and were $8. The skirt was marked down from $59 to $14 and the blouse was $7. I'm good with that. So now I'm ready to drive to Vegas and have some new duds too. I'm trying to control my shopping because I want to shop in Argentina. I want some leather goods. Okay, I'm going back to sleep. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Eva

I'm very impressed with your successes. I've been banded since December 2009, and I'm down 56 pounds. I've been sick with the seasonal nasty cold for about 3 weeks. I'm feeling much better this week, but my stomach is really bothering me. I have what feels like lots of gas pain and some diarrhea and some hellacious heartburn which I have not had in the past. Sorry, if TMI, but I just wanted to get your take on what could be going on. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much

Good Evening Gang Well had gym this morning - I am not going to be able to walk by Monday... Then went and took car in to get new tires (so we have a safe trip Phyl) walked over to AT&T to get new battery for my phone as it doesn't hold a charge for more than a day - day and half. Oh tried these riding boots on at Target - loved them - so came home showered went to Macy's they had $10 free cash - but the boots at Target were just as cute and only $39 instead of $100+ so went back to Target got the boots - some food home - ate some popcorn and took a little nap.. Having bbq ck for dinner w/sweet potato.. Was so tight last night I couldn't eat my dinner - had a bowl of sf ice cream instead - was concerned that I wasn't getting my nutrition - so while at Target got some pure pt shakes - funny how now I think about nutrition where as before never did - I think working out with trainer & weights helps - I know I need pt & complex carbs to exercise and build muscle.. Eva - WTG on the shopping - I know you aren't much of a clothes shopper ;0) - Nite are the worse for me and stress at work will kick in the want to eat - the lady next to me had chocolate at her desk she's gone on vacation - sso I ate 2 and then took the candy to my bosses office (he's the one who's the chocoalich) so no more temptation.. Linda - Glad Katie is doing better and going to take responsibility for her healthy (prayer & good ju ju as laurak says) Make sure Alayha dad signs legal papers giving up parental rights or by law she goes to him - I had a gf who died her DD went to her dad (she did know him) but she should have stayed w/her aunts who had helped raise her.. Can't wait to hear about the show - I would love to be picked.. Julie - At least you are going back and hopefully they will have results from some of the test you took - Take it easy girl - rest.. Joyce - I'm watching it (hoarders) well did last weekend - use to watch the bbc verision - have you ever seen that one - the 2 english ladies - that was a cute one. But I don't think they had therapy in that one.. Charlene - Yep TMI w/our mirrors :0) Eva - I wish I could have a swamp they are nice to have - had one at xdh house we used it most of the time.. WTG on your walking - Yep our weather is cooling off.. I'm w/you back in the day if I had walked for any length of time - I would be whipped and would do nothing but rest - now I can go go go - have a little rest and keep on ticking just like a timex ;0) I've laid in the sun a bit wasn't a super sun worshiper and as a toddler went to the beach every summer - pre sun block days and have had many burns - and for a while in the mid 90's did the tanning booths - and have had some pre-cancerous stuff removed - need to go get checked - since I can't see my back - but they did the ultraviolet test on my skins and it shows layers and layers of damage.. Now I use the self tanners and don't mess w/the sun ;0) Charlene - WTG on 2 walks today !!! Jessica - Hugs on Jake - testing will be good - you will have some answers - Just stay out of the drama - yep grownups are full of it too.. Gwen - Sounds like you are doing great !!!! I ate at buffetts for lunch & bf normally - dinner was always the dinning room How in the heck did they find skin cancer under his toe nail ???? Well gang need to go bbq my ck and feed the doggies - cbl..

Cheri~ It wasn't drinking any wine or anything like that when the band was too tight, it was after. I know how it feels when it is too tight now and this was definately that "feeling". After I was so sick with my band too tight and having reflux every night for that month, I never want to feel like that again. It caused that partial slip that I had. It's only when I'm too tight that I get reflux. I have never gotten it from food. I don't consider myself semi-vegetarian, I just sometimes don't like the taste of meat. It depends I guess. Usually my salads will have chicken on them. Yesterday it did. But I don't do much dairy. It makes me have gas. TMI. I do love cheese, but I limit it very strictly. The dr just took out a super small amount, he said almost "unmeasurable". I feel like I make better choices when I am able to eat a wider variety of foods. Eva~ Thanks girl. Its tough, but I know I can't beat myself up over it. I have come to the point where I'm ok with the weight loss slowing down. I'm wanting to have it off by my 2 year bandiversary which is June 26th. I feel like that is realistic. Right? Linda~ Once again, thanks to you too! I needed you girls and your positive feedback. I do make much better choices now. Its amazing compared to what I would have eaten before. Good point! I'm going to take a little nap now. Just got back from the shower not long ago. It was very nice. Open house style. CBL~Meredith

Just checking in......I haven't read the posts. I went to the GP today. I am having a ct scan tomorrow on my gut. I think it is just adhesions, but gonna get one just to rule out diverticulitis. Yum! I get to drink two big bottles of orange contrast in the morning. Contrast runs through me big time. Thank goodness this imaging place is five minutes away. Sorry, TMI.

Ladies-- How Did You Keep Up With Bra Sizes?!
deltadawn817 replied to vanb0052's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my bras before surgery were 40H I measure to buy a 38G right now but haven't bought more. As they are $$$ lanebryant right now has a coupon code $40 off $100 and the bras and buy one get one 50% off. I am still wearing my 40H and some 42DDD that I had stashed but they are too big if I bend over they fall out the top TMI . I am thinking about buy some that are a little tight buy might try a coobie, genie bra route. -
Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)
vanessak8 replied to Need-a-Sleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I guess you are having you surgery today... I came home yesterday. It has not been too bad. Just initially when I came up from recovery. Got up to go pee and it made me nauseas and have the dry heaves... All my pain was right under my diaphragm ( also had a hiatal hernia repaired). After some meds and a 3.5 hour nap I woke up feeling like a whole new person. Pain was manageable. I was up walking the halls. So all in all everything has been good. My only complaint is this awful taste in my mouth makes everything taste yucky. Also spur worried about going #2, (maybe TMI), but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Thank god for that. Only took pain meds once since I've been home. -
Good Morning Gang - My keyboard at home would work - the mouse did but not the key board and to reboot takes forever ;0) Charlene - I have mentioned somewhere if I take my calcium (which has mag in it) before I go to bed at night the next morning - I have no problem with the tmi issue ;0) - I loved the whole as the experts - I watched it last nite - I think I am going to take my calcuim home (i have it here at work) and make sure to take it before bed every nite - cuz that's my NY resolution - Take my Vitimans - took 1/1 - 1/2 and this morning !!! Sandy - It doesn't matter if you are banded or not - there are plenty of pple who lose 100+ without the benefit of the band and truly its about making changes in our eating & exercise period. I don't care if you have the band or not - as we all know there are plenty of bander - bypass pple who may lose the weight but gain it all back - why - they didn't make the changes.. WTG on getting back on track... Charlene - I don't think your oatmeal is going to kill your weight loss plan - LOL on warming you up - plenty of other foods that would have done that LOL eggs are hot too ;0) You just can't have starches at every meal.. Well, I got to get to work - sorry about the drive by - it's cold here too... Tina - Hugs hope things get better..

Hi everyone, Welcome Tweety and good luck tomorrow on your surgery! I know you'll do just fine! Being a regular poster here will help you tremendously -- be sure to log in soon and let us know how you are doing. Okay, getting ready to leave for my dr appt. Leg is looking really good, I'll be shocked if surgery does not proceed tomorrow. I'm so happy about that. DSS (dear step son) pulled crap last night. Honestly, as if we don't have enough to deal with right now? You might recall he just showed up here a few weeks ago from Oregon asking us to forgive him and let him back in our home. He will be 22 in March -- he is no young kid. Well, he seemed to be doing okay -- in fact he did start work last Mon. at Walmart. It's almost like when things are going good he MUST screw them up. Well, he worked Sat. and said he was going to spend the night with a friend that we know and go to church with his family yesterday and would be home by 1:30 p.m. to get ready for work by 3:00 -- well, no show and no call -- we were frantic by midnight -- caling hospitals, police. He called in sick at work (so that job is probably gone) and we had no idea where he was. He finally called at midnight. One of our daughter's friends had seen him at 2:00 p.m. and through various people texting each other he got a message to call home. Honestly! My poor DH was imagining all sorts of things. He is juvenile diabetic. Why oh why can't these kids grow up like we did? Jeez. Okay, thanks for listening. Sorry if that's TMI. Just wanted to get that off my chest. We have a couple inches of snow this a.m. Looks pretty. My storm door on north side is totally frozen shut this am -- use that to let our baby (dog) outside. Will have to get the deicer spray out. Laura K, for some reason I thought you were in Missouri, not Michigan -- but we still might manage a visit - Meredith is in Michigan also. Excited about the Florida trip. Can't wait. Thanks again apples for taking care of everything -- you are the greatest! Janet, good going on that wrapping job. Julie, you'll be fine, but remember, you're welcome to fly to Des Moines and fly with me also. Eva, how did you get a FREE curio cabinet? Sounds great. Meredith, wreath sounds interesting be sure to post pics when you're done. Laura, keeping you and your family in my thoughts. Cheri, my DS is much like your DH -- and my DIL learned that at the beginning of their marraige -LOL -- it was the ONLY time they ever fought was when he tried to remodel their bathroom - what a disaster -- he is great at everything EXCEPT repairing anything around the house -- not a handyman -- but then again, he was raised by me and had no dad to teach him anything like that, so it's no wonder. Glad you are making the trip to Florida. Anxious to meet you and everyone else. Gotta run. CBL. Linda

Any November 2009 Bandsters??
Soexcited replied to 120inside's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yaya, I beat the hunger / or wanting food by eating popsicles. I got some Bryers sugar free today and they are awesome....I have had like 5 of them today. Right now I just want to eat because its looking and smelling good, but the popcocle fills me up and the cold is good fpr the stiches. I had a hiatal hernia repar as well so have a few extra stices to take care of. I am now 3 days post op and my biggest problem is the gas in my bowls, TMI sorry but I have such bad gas and diareah its horrrible. The gas pain in my shoulders is better but I still can not take a deep breath without it hurting. I am looking forward to my shake tomorrow morning. -
A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
PeaCeJ replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry if this is TMI, but I know that some will understand how good this is... I haven't moved the scale in over a week BUT.... My first NSV ...... I suddenly realized today that I can wipe my a** without the turning and twisting that I had to do for the last year or so. WOW! I guess the inches are starting to come off! -
8 weeks post op ~ feeling discouraged
NCIS replied to jessicakolman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there - I'm a slow loser so don't know if my experience will be helpful..but I didn't even get on the scale after surgery unless I was at the dr's office. I think I must have (and be) passive about the weight loss. I wanted to let the band do it's work. I was banded Feb. 16 09 - and didn't start really losing until around April and May. A few here and there but only around 15 up until April and yes it was very frustrating. The fills started to 'kick' in a bit in the summer...and when I was able to get 50 lbs off by Sept..I started at the gym. I am glad to report I am at a loss of 85 lbs. Yes I wish it were more! Who doesn't? But I'm glad it's gone. I will also tell u that when I don't eat enough my body goes into starvation mode and I gain. It's INSANE but Friday and Saturday I just didn't eat much and yesterday I weighed 188 lbs...tmi but also hadn't pooed in 4 days. I upped my eating a bit yesterday and today as well as some help from senna caps and today I'm back to 179. Good luck and hang in there! -
Anyones spouse having a hard time?
kenb79 replied to kenb79's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you to everyone for there responses. She has been supportive. Like Jersrose43 mentioned, she is just frustrated. I like the suggestions of soups and in a couple weeks, once I can actually have soup without straining it, our choices will be better. Regarding drinking, I was the DD before and will be now too. Even one drink always gave me the biggest headache. Last night she came home from work and we went and saw the equalizer. Kiss ass movie BTW. Great night up to the point where i had to tell her no to sex (sorry, tmi) yesterday was not a good day regarding Water consumption and Protein intake and I felt like shit for it. V/r, Ken -
Hi All, I had my surgery on Tuesday, and I am still in pain. I was hospitalized on Tuesday night for observation and yesterday night as well. I came home today. I am not in as much pain as I was the past few days, and thankfully, I am now passing "gas." Sorry, I know it is TMI but the nurses told me that I need to, to release the pressure caused by the CO2 during surgery. I am home now, armed and dangerous with vicodine and anti-nausea medication. The past two days I was wondering what I did to myself, but now as the pain slowly decreases, I believe i made a good decision. I cannot wait to live the rest of my life. Thank you everyone for sharing on this thread as it has been amazing moral support. Reading about what everyone is going through gives me the courage and confidence to keep moving forward. Good luck to those being banded today and shortly. Keep us updated/ Tabitha

My husband asked me yesterday what I wanted for my first real dinner--I told him SALMON! Man, that does sound good. I'm sure it will be the best thing I ever tasted as well. I'm very anxious! Thanks for asking how I'm feeling. I've actually had a very hard week. I started exercising and just walked for two days for 20 minutes each. My muscles got SO sore, even though I stretched before and after. Well, the third day I was really sick, :sickprobably had the flu, and am still struggling with that. I wondered if it could be a band problem or a complication like an infection or something (chills like I've never had--teeth chattering for hours and shivering under two down comforters with a heating pad, horrible headaches, tiredness--I slept 20 out of 24 hours one day--and just terrible gas pains in my lower abdomen. Tonight I'm quite a bit better but still not 100%. At least I see improvement. Hope it wasn't all just an allergic reaction to the exercise!:phanvan Thanks for asking! I'm sure that's TMI!

StephC's PS journey/I got approved!!
StephC replied to StephC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Last night my dd and I got caught up in a show about gastric bypass patients who have lost weight and now going through full body lifts. Some of them had 3 and 4 surgerys. I couldn't watch some parts of it, the lipo totally freaks me out. If you watch it you'd understand why theres so much pain afterward. Its not like the dentist assistant who gently sucks the spit out of your mouth, they take that rod and ram it - ouch! Then when they are cutting off the excess skin, they just stretch and pull and move that stuff all around. It just seemed so rough to me. Sorry if this is tmi but even though it freaked me out I'm still going through with it and even during the show I clapped my hands and yelled I CAN'T WAIT!!! The results are amazing, just amazing - as we've seen on our lapband friends who've shared with us. I'm getting so excited! -
So sorry but Im struggling!!!!!! Day 5 of preop diet and I'm so constipated. This is the worst ever. Any suggestions for instant relief any relief would be greatly appreciated. Hi there. I had a revision from sleeve to mini bypass about 6 weeks ago. In that time, I've had quite a bit of diarrhoea and loose stools. Sorry for the TMI. It's really gross to me, too. My poop is green and smells UNHOLY. Is this going to last forever? I traveled to the Uk over the weekend and I was concerned about toilet access. Can anyone advise? Thank you.

Where Are You in Your Weight Loss Journey?
ShineBright724 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just finished my 3rd walk, she let me go by myself. It does help with gas if you have some. I feel like I'm about to burp but it won't come up lol. They told me to let them know when I pass gas (tmi) and my catheter is getting taken out in 30 minutes -

Help...terrible Gas Pains
Vidalia replied to Vidalia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Hi All.....How was everyone's long weekend?? Short week this week YAY We got heaps done around the house and got a skip in to remove the old shed so at least we did something productive but I would have rather been out on the boat LOL Still got a lot to do but it's great when you can start to see progress.....helps to keep you motivated @@nerms You Go Girl we sure are gonna kick 2014's ass!!!!!! Not long to go now the time will fly by....and as for the pain...yes is uncomfortable but they have pain relief for that so my advice is USE IT....dont be shy in asking for it. My preadmin nurse said to me......if you are in pain, you shouldn't be. They have meds for that so if you are then tell them and they will fix it.....so true and I did this time and it all helped. Mind you I did have an idea of what to expect having had the band before and many operations after that to correct things so I think that all helped me to know what to expect and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! Yeah it's not all rainbows and lollipops, but its a small price to pay for what you get in return I think anyway @@Bee I hear ya about the arms......them and the boobs haha. I have never lost weight in my boobs....haev always been big busted but now I feel like they are used tea bags Once I lose all my weight gonna have to get that fixed LOL Yeah got tuck shop lady arms happening so will just do some light weights but hey, I am 41, have had 3 kids by c section and breast fed them all so saggy skin is a part of life for me I'm afraid.......sorry peeps for the tmi About the pain in your largest wound.....I was told that I would have pain in that for the longest and when I did too much I felt it there thats for sure. They told me that my stomach muscles were stitched to my stomach to prevent a hernia in the site....apparently its what they do at lap surgery......so they told me I will feel twinges and times of it being uncomfortable for some time....(from memory 6 to 8 weeks but you could have to check with the nurse) Just be careful about putting too much strain on it, you don't want to end up with problems. If you are concerned about the pain just call them they will talk to you about it. I know I am a lot more paranoid than most because of my weight loss surgery history, but nothing is worth stuffing it up believe me. I didn't ask about swimming and I love to swim....should have asked. I just know Ray said walking, gentle cycling and light weights sometimes but most important to just keep active. He said at this stage exercise wont add a lot to the weight loss (????) it will just help with fitness. I guess the insides take longer to heal even though I feel like I haven't had anything done at all now. -

IMHO, if it is related to the bariatic surgery journey, there is never TMI.
