  1. i know! i felt like i was going to be waiting forever but now it's only 3 weeks away!!! i can't believe im making sucha change in my life! hows things going with you? are u looking into it more or has ur process started?

  2. Congratulations! You've reached a great milestone (many more to come!) I chewed food yesterday!!! Liquids was the longest week of my life! Granted, the food I chewed was thick liquid (puree) but at least it wasn't another protein shake! Good luck at True Results!

  3. Hi again, I had my second fill four weeks after my first. That is just the way my Dr. scheduled it. It took four days again for my body to feel that I had been tightened. I could only eat about 2 tablespoons of food and I was done for each meal. I did have a problem with scrambled eggs for the first time this morning. I had my third fill this past Monday and Friday was the fourth day after my fill and I again had to eat very little and slow. I guess that is what I mean when my band has check in or kicked in. I also get the hick ups and I know for sure to stop eating or I will end up in the bathroom not feeling well. I have enjoyed playing with my band. imaluckydog Kathy I hope I have helped

  4. Hi xavier, I have had three fills the first one was five weeks after my surgery. I kept eating the way we do slow any steady and on the fourth day after my first fill I was so tight I only ate about 2 tablespoons full of food at each meal. Then I could not eat any more. I always ate the protein first and sometimes that is all I could eat. I eat a lot of greek yogurt and eggplant with meat sauce. If you want I can give you the recipe for the Wendy's Chili. I eat that all the time. I usually put grated cheese and or sour cream on it as well. Tastes great and is easy on my band.

  5. hay there am at 11mill today and god its working for me. i can not eat a thing with out being sick.,so am going back on soup for a week..

  6. Hey thanks for checking in..it always helps to remember that you are not doing this alone! I think I am at a stall, for the past few weeks I have managed to gain and lose the same 2-3lbs but I cant get it off to stay off! I know it is my fault bc I can come up with a thousand excuses not to exercise but I really need to get back in gear! How are you doing and how much have you lost so far? Sounds like you are doing pretty good maintaining a steady weight loss....its always better than gaining! Good luck

  7. I live right outside Houston. Where are you?? This 2 week protein shake for 2 meals and a small dinner is killing me!! Plus I am big Coke fan so I had to give that up too. I know its worth it, but boy I can't wait to get this over with. I'm excited but know I will be nervous the day of the surgery. Are you doing ok on your diet? I found a mix protein shake from GNC that tastes good. I mix a few fresh strawberries and it makes it nice.

Well its off to walk the block. Talk to you soon!

  8. Giiiiiiirl I'm doing fabulous! I love my band! This whole process has been up and down and up and stall and up and down! It's been a mental and emotional roller coaster figuring out my issues and working through them. But where I'm at today is, down to 238 lbs and already a size 18, that was a shock to me! At this pace I could be a 200 lb size 14 chick! That'd be pretty awesome!

That is awesome you recovered so fast. Day 2 for me I was off the pain meds and day 3 I was back to takin' care of my 2 boys by myself. I'm excited to keep up w/ your progress.

  9. nope...I live in Seattle. My best friend is getting banded next week and i wanted to learn all i could about banding so i joined the forum.

  10. Thanks! I think I found my motivation. I started with a new trainer who is kickin my butt! Plus, I have one month to get to 175! lol. I'm about to leave for my fill appt in a few minutes and I'm still debating if I will get back what I took out at my last appointment. I was stuck at the same place you are too. You'll get past it...just get that fill and drink lots of water! I would take my own advice but its not working this time...lol! You have a great week as well!

  11. omg I just read your update above and you just got banded a week ago? Awesome! How are you doing?

  12. thxs for the pic comment. I just stick to the rules I set for myself. Some of them are.... no bread, pasta or rice and very little sugar. I work out 5 days a week and eat alot of beans and fish. So were are you in the process of getting your band.

  13. Hey it's going good, i had my 2 week post-op appt today and i'm down 15lbs which is great! i'm allowed to have one mushie and 2 liquid meals for the next two weeks until i move to all mushie. So amazing being able to have really mushie chicken salad lol! anyway yea the gym i can start Monday because it will be exactly two weeks from my surgery! i cant wait to get that muscle feeling yay for you!!! how did the fill go? i'm seeing my doctor again in 2 weeks and he may do it then, i think he wants to see how much more i can lose with the band empty. but congrats to u on ur accomplishments! :) i'm going to add pictures up, idk if i can see a difference but today he told me i should take them every two weeks...and i got my steri strip off yay! lol glad things are looking good for the both of us

  14. :tt2:Hi

I was banded on the 27th of August and I am feeling really good. I have lost a total of 21 lbs pre-op and post-op. I know we are supposed to lose slowly but I want to lose fast. Started exercising this week. On a mushy diet for this and next week then I can introduce soft foods.

  15. It took forever for me to notice my weight loss and everyone around me was like what the hell are you blind. Body image is so weird and honestly I think people look at me I am still 260....it is very weird transistion and I struggle with it everyday. I am really hard on myself too! I just had emergency gallbladder surgery and had my band all the way unfilled two weeks ago...I have gained 8 pounds and I started my period too. I had a really unhealthy weight loss and I lost about half my hair so trust me gradual is better...you have beautiful hair and you will want to keep it! You just need to keep on going girl and it will be a great feeling when you hit goal. How much have you lost?

  16. Everything is going well so far. Im dealing with eating mushie foods but ready for normal ones! Other than that Im doing good. I get my fill wed of next week and the nurse who does it says she likes t be aggressive on the first fill so Im hoping for some good results after that! I just got back to the gym yesteray and did ok with that so that made me happy that I could get back to exercising to hopefully speed the process up!!

  17. Thanks for the tips!! I work out about 3-4 times a week. Usually do the treadmill for 30 min and about 4 miles on the bike. Wow whats your sons name? I am a Hawkeye fan (I know i know) but I won't rub Saturdays game in too much :) thats awsome you are able to do the 5ks!! I just started running this week and did about 10 min pretty well..but my pants were falling down lol guess its a good problem to have!

  18. Hello, I noticed we had our surgeries on the same day. I got my first fill last week but still has no restriction. I am going back next week for another. Oh I also had a hiatal hernia repair. Well just thought I would say hello... Jennifer

  19. Thanks for your tips. I just got an unfill because I couldn't eat or drink anything and now I'm back to normal. My goal this 6 weeks is to lose 12 pounds so I need to stay focus and bust my butt at the gym. Take care!

  20. Hello! You posted on my board a couple of weeks ago. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! You will love the results, and will be a different person with 'all is said and done.' It has been 20 months since my surgery, and I am down -157. I will pray for you, and that everything will go BETTER than you are dreaming! Tracey

  21. Susan,

sorry I didn't see your pm until today.

I changed my date of surgery. I am going in on the 18th now. Only 5 days left.

I started my pre-op diet about 4 weeks ago. Thought I would see how long I could do it. I did have 4 dinners in that 4 weeks, the last meal was on Wednesday for my grandson's birthday. My Dr said it was ok even though it was in the 2 week time period since I have already lost almsot 20 lbs.

3 more days of shakes then 2 days of clears. My surgery is on Friday but I will stay in the hospital till Sat. I am a little nervous and have lots of doubts now but I am sure this is the thing I need. I have lost and gained these 50 lbs 3 times now in the past 10 years.

My son told me he doesn't support this surgery because he has seen me lose before but I told him my insurance wouldn't approve if they didn't think I needed it. I am now 188 lbs and hope to get down to around 145.

Good luck with your surgery too. Peggie

  22. Hi! I just saw your message today...Don't know my way around this site yet!

I am having it done on the 13th of October. I did wait a little longer only because of work travel and a visit to California the end of the month. My son and daughter in law live out there and I want our visit to be fun!

So, after the first week of October, I was free to have this done with no work worries or social engagements that I could not handle! I am self pay....so I wanted it when it would work for me and I knew I could succeed.

I am so excited. No pre-op diet for me...but I have really been good and trying to lose a little weight before the surgery...I can feel my mind set changing each day and I know that I will be able to do this. I can taste being slim!

Your pup is cute....I have 2 Shar Pei.

Keep up the good work...you are an inspiration to us all!

  23. You are so cute!!! You just made my day ;-) I just got home from work I have been there since 7 am this morning. I am so tired. I just loved Happy Friday THANK YOU... Yes it is You are so sweet to send me a nice message. You are an inspiration. Have a wonderful healthy week end. imaluckydog Kathy

  24. Hi all! Wanted to share some before and 3 months after pics with everybody. Take a look. This band journey is a strange thing.:huh2: One day I can eat and the next day 2 bites will do me at one sitting. Throwing up has been more of a common thing than I thought it would be. Still a little bruised feeling at the port site  and have had more gas in the last 3 months than EVER before. I go in next week for my 4th fill. And I am going to ask about these issues. Total wieght loss has been 30 pds! :tongue2: For once in my life the scale is going down not up!! :tt1: I'm lovin it! Can't wait till the next 30 pds goes away. Then I feel I will REALLY see it! And that's when others will really see the true effects of the band~! I had a lot of "bulk" on me and that's the 30 pds that's missing! If you have any suggestions or props, let me know. Always love to hear from you. :rolleyes2:

  25. Catherine, your blog is an inspiration to me. I am being banded next week and I really enjoyed reading it!
