    Roller Coasters!

    What a fun NSV!

    Roller Coasters!

That is one of the best NSV out there. I went to Six Flags a few months ago and rode Batman. I had not been on that for over 20 years because I would not fit. I literally teared up when the ride started.
  4. I had a HUGE NSV this weekend, I rode roller coasters without having to get off due to my size and without be smooshed into the restraints. I have worked at this park for several years and have only been able to ride a couple of the big coasters due to my size so I finally got to enjoy them for the first time since high school! Also, a fun perk of having gastric bypass, I don't get that stomach dropping feeling going down the big drops like before surgery! My daughter and I were running from coaster to coaster trying to get on as many as possible, I had so much fun!
  5. What an exciting NSV!

    NSV shout outs

Resurrecting this NSV thread. I’m grateful for moments when my inner obese woman kicks a fit person’s butt. Yesterday, I ran the same track with 22 army recruits. Drill sergeants yelling out times as they passed. (2 mile run requirement) The recruits went on to complete the rest of their testing (push up’s sit ups etc.). I continued to run. Half our later, sergeant’s and recruits came back to run the track after testing. This former obese woman outran them.
  7. Today I had a Dr. appointment for knee injection an decided to try on a pair of my old size 14's and they fit!!! I am also now completely off my BP meds!

    Top Ten NSV

Great NSVs. Glad you are having fun with all this. A very fit high school physical education teacher was on the treadmill next to me. After we finnished, He said “thank you for motivating me to jog walk”
  9. Did my Wednesday weigh in last week and had a disappointing stall with no loss to report, not even an ounce. Did my Wednesday weigh in this morning (10 weeks post op) and the scale went down 4.5 lbs. However while in my stall week I wracked my brain as to how nor fret over my stall. In true fashion of being a David Letterman fan I decided to go old school and come up with a top ten list of things I've achieved since surgery pertaining to Non scale Victorys and not the number on the scale. Hoping everyone will post a few of their own. Here goes : 1. Actually realizing what full feels like for the first time in 57 years 2. Being able to buckle the airplane seatbelt without sliding the buckle to the very end 3. Being able to leave the bathroom after showering with only 1 bath towel wrapped around me instead of 2 4. Being able to tie my sneakers without being out of breath 5. Being able to easily zip last years winter coat and not having to buy a new one like the last few winters 6. Eagerly remembering to take the Fitbit off the charger to track steps and not leave it there for 3 or 4 days before remembering I haven't looked at it 7. Ordering the work team t-shirt and not having to pay the extra price for the sizes past XL 8. Being "that person" at lunch that actually orders the salad with grilled chicken instead of the cheeseburger and fries or tortellini alfredo after eating half the bread basket 9. Realizing you actually bought a piece of clothing because you liked it and not just because it was your size 10. Being able to sleep without waking yourself up with your own LOUD snoring Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app

    NSVs

Congratulations! Great NSVs. Over if my friends said the "you're tiny" comment to me recently and it felt odd, yet fun to hear.
  12. 1. I'm down to L shirts from 2X 2. I'm down a pant size to a 14 and have to wear my built on the 5th hole. If it's on the 4th hole I can take of my pants without undoing them. 3. I am now the weight listed on my driver's license 4. I'm officially halfway to my goal. 45 lbs to go! 5. My sister almost cried last night after not seeing me for a while. She kept saying "You're so tiny!" Just wanted to share because I'm happy! Carry On!

    February 2019 weight loss buds

This is a serious NSV for me now whenever I go to the spa. I used to never be able to close the robes there and so I would have to hang around in yoga pants and t-shirt waiting for my treatments. Now not only can I hang out in their robes, I can belt them easily

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Small NSV this weekend - was able to do up the robe at our hotel. It never used to come close before.
  15. Heyy guys! I hope everyone's doing well! I have good news! It may not be much but I'm super excited so i'm sharing!! So for a while now I've only been wearing leggings because my old size 24 jeans had been slipping off so much and became impossible to wear. Anyway, even my leggings (3x) became too baggy for my liking so I decided to go shopping! I was at costco and they had these cute leggings with pockets that I loved but the only size left was an XL and they also had these turtle neck shirts that are really cute and only $5 but only had an XL as well so I got them both thinking that I could probably wear them in a month or two when they'd fit. I also went to the mall and got two pairs of jeans, a 16 (that I thought would BARELY fit) to wear now and a 14 to wear in a couple months. When I got home I tried them all on, including the size 14 jeans I bought for later and GUESS WHAT! They all fit perfectly!! SO EXCITED!! 😁 (sorry for the cropping and coloring my room's a mess and so are my toes 😂 😬)

    The Maintenance Thread

I wanted to add a maintenance NSV: Because the weather has finally turned cold enough, Today I washed and dried my wool and vegan leather jackets/coats from last season/year (no worries-I always do this) and they fit EXACTLY THE SAME👏 Very exciting to know that I'm actually still maintaining. I could easily drop more weight but I'm good right in this range 💃
  17. Hi August pals! So glad I check in and read about stalls! Oy vey! For weeks I’m stalled. I have lost 30 lbs since surgery but scale hasn’t moved in weeks! February 2019 weight loss buds

So I am finally posting the before and during pictures. Can’t wait to post the after. The first picture of my husband and me was taken in April of 2018 and helped me to confirm I NEEDED help. The second picture was taken this past Sunday at a play. Also , NSV Fit in the seat comfortably. Also, please pretend my eyes are open.

    My first NSV

I love NSVs!!! I put on a shirt that was pretty tight when I bought it and it was actually loose. This weekend I worked my EMS job and I actually needed a belt to hold up my pants, not just a place to hang my radio, my shirt was also way looser than it was previously. I also had to take my Apple Watch band down another notch too. Definitely getting there!!
  21. 19 days post op. Since May 20, I have lost 33.8 pounds. I can already start my abdomen is less bloated, although I haven't quite yet dropped a pants size yet. My clothes are looser, but when I go down a size they are still too snug. But... this morning I put on the flip flop style sandals that I have been wearing for about 6 months regularly and they are TOO BIG! They are totally too loose and I could easily go down at least half a size in them. I am so glad this happened today, because I was getting ready to buy a new pair of walking shoes. When I am heavy I wear an 8.5, but when I am skinny I wear 7.5-8 (that is where I was 8 years ago). I will probably have to go with an 8 today since I am not down to my 7.5 size yet. Anyhow, it is those little victories that get us through this, right?

    August 2019 Check In

Gastric Sleeve 12th August, Dilation OGD 17th August, Emergency Bypass 20th August. 5 foot 10" HW 115 kg (253 lbs) SW 112 kg (246 lbs) CW 96kg (211 lbs) So far lost 19kg (41.8 lbs) So after 3 procedures and just over 2 weeks in hospital, I am still getting tired easily. But I go for a gentle walk every other day (around 5km a week = 3miles). I am starting to be able to do more around the house and my wounds all look good, especially considering they were re-opened! Bending is still uncomfortable on my tummy but much easier than before the op. What I do love is my clothes hanging off me LOL and I can get up the stairs without huffing and puffing OR having to use the handrail to help pull myself up Our stairs are very steep so it's a pretty big non-scale victory (NSV) for me Bit miffed that I have worked out I am definitely lactose intolerant now and in a big way. But had some great tips from some of these forums veterans. I am still on pureed food, not sure when I get to real food, but I'm not in a rush, pureed is better than liquids so I am happy to wait if I have to. Kudos to those of you that have gone back to work, I wouldn't have been able to yet if I did work! Everyone seems to be doing a great job
  23. This morning I weighted myself for my 4weeks Post Op :) If you saw my post about what was going on in week 3 you have most likely have read that I had gained 1.4lbs and then my weight wasn’t moving. glad to say today I had lost that 1.4lbs and an additional 1.2lbs making this weeks lost a total of 2.6lbs :) I know I have only lost 22lbs in 4lbs and that’s amazing but I’m really excited to lose the next 48lbs to get to my first personal goal :) Weight stats: Starting HW: 270.6 PRE-Op diet starting weight: 268.3 Surgery weight: 266.8 WEEK 1: -11.6lbs Week 2: -5.4lbs Week 3: +1.4lbs Week 4: -2.6lbs Total: -22lbs My personal Goals: Goal 1: get down to 200lbs (48.6lbs to go 😊) Goal 2: get down to 180lbs Goal 3: get down to 160lbs Goal 4: get down to 135lbs NSVS: • I can go in my closet and pick any 2xl clothing and it be fitting just right or lose, and some XL fit nicely :) • I see the difference in my face and body Other updates: • Still have no appetite, still forcing myself to eat for fuel unless I go longer that 3 hours I do get this one feeling of emptiness • I can tolerate Greek yogurt (texture throws me off but I don’t mind it), tuna, 4 shredded cheese blend or mozzarella/cheese sticks, mashed beans, steamed zucchini and carrots (yay I been wanting veggies), Atkins French vanilla protein shakes, cottage cheese, reduced fat ritz crackers, scrambled eggs • can’t tolerate chocolate flavored Atkins protein shake, I get sick with nausea • my water intake is improving, getting closer and closer to 64oz

    Tell me something good :)

Yeah Panda I started OSU with a 50+ BMI, nice weight for a nice thick Redwood tree but a mite heavy for an Obese Woman. And my half- off, I started at 365+ , just weighed myself this AM, after eons of wanting to chuck weight scales out the nearest window or in a Dumpster, actually did the latter once, one of those sarcastic electronic voices " Do You Realize Your Weight Today is...? Yep, smart-Aleck scale, marched out to the Dumpster and threw it as hard as I could to the rear- that way it would LIE NO MORE! Well my current one, weighs you , then sends an elecronic gentle zap up through your bare feet, never felt a thing, then It calcuates BMI, % fat, % water, and how many calories to maintain, that one I don't pay attention to because I am still in Losing Mode. But it is digital instead of a dial whirring and speaking out loud. And I weigh this morning 181,7 pounds of Happy Happy Camper so over 180 less! And I am going to do my durnest to make it down to 175, loss is slowing BUT not stopped yet! Go over to the NSV thread current and see what else I am boasting about.😜And a Peaceful Sunday to All!

    Unanticipated NSV

Oh my Oh my Do I ever have something to Cheer About, an N.S.V. I didn't anticipate happening! Today I took a Shower, okay okay NOT THE FIRST IN MY lifetime. After YEARS and Years of experience using a Beach Towel or. a Terry Cloth Bath-sheet, I got out a Normal sized Bath Towel, not only did it wrap ALL the WAY around but I had Lap- over Room and could tuck the Edge in. Isn't THAT a Sweet NSV? Because I am So So Proud I've stuck IT through to this point in LIFE and Holy Holy Hip-hop, I AM APPROACHING TRULY AVERAGE/NORMAL SIZE FOR A HUMAN- TYPE PERSON! And I am Over Joyed! 👈😜👉
