  1. No fill yet? How are you doing? Feeling any hunger? How much are you losing? THey were really happy I lost 8# last month. I've had 2 fills. The first one made me not hungry 'all the time'. The 2nd one allowed me to finish eating at 4-5 oz without being super hungry. I still don't have restriction so I'm guessing I'll get another one in a couple of weeks. The first two were 'significant' they said, so perhaps this one will be tiny. I feel I'm close to the green zone. How are you feeling?? How much weight are you down? I started 242# on 6/5 (pre-op) and am down to 204# this week. I can't wait to knock off the last 5# and get to ONEderland!

  2. Another question for you guys, when is a good time to start exercising? I'm talking weights, stair climber, and the whole gym experience! I'm ready to get my hands dirty. I always wished that I could start over with this weight issue.... here's my chance and I plan to be good to my body this time! I've been given a second chance and I'm going to take full advantage of it!

I'm still having these crazy pains every now and then, but either I've gotten use to them or they are slowly going away.

I am really hoping that I am able to get out of the 200lbs range before I go back to work! Not that anybody at work will ever notice, but I would really feel like I have worked my butt off if I was less than 200 lbs before then. Is this possible?

  4. hi Lisa! trust all's well w/u. I go for my first fill on 9/14 and lord knows i need it. I've been a lil bummed and concerned. i've been eating more (which sounds like the norm) however, i tried to eat my first sandwich about a week and a half ago and had the worst case of "stuck" ever! and every since, i haven't lost anymore weight and notice that i don't feel that "tight sensation" when swallowing. God knows i pray i haven't messed anything up! TTYL and take care hun!

  6. hi...just read you most recent blogs and i loved them. I know what you mean about the "poop weighing"" dry dry chicken" and "slime=shower".

I have been stuck at the same weight for the last 4 months... not the bands fault. Lack of motivation and a little saobotage on my part.... i have a new goal for this year. loose 33lbs by my sept Bday.

How is you new veigan diet going?

  7. hi, i have not been on this site for a while... maybe in hidding, or maybe i dont want to admit that i have been slacking off and that is why i have not lost much weight in the last 4 months... i dad my last fill in dec and i am up to 9CC... and still dont have the Sweetspot.. have you gotten there?

  8. What a inspiration you are! I just had my band on the 29th of dec! My highest weight was 440 and I'm down to 384! How long did it take you to loose all of that? I would love to chit chat some time !

  9. HI, Traciecat! Things are going well! I have hit a plateau. However, I know how my body work...or I least I think I am getting it figured out. I am down 55 lbs. I can't weight to hit the 60 lbs. I am trying to change my relationship with food and not use it so much as an emotional crutch. I have found that I am transferring my love of eating food to cooking food. Keep me posted on how you're doing

  10. Hello my friend. How is up there in Canada? I love to snowmobile in Cananda and have been there twice. How is the weight lost been going? I am down 30 lbs from my heaviest and wishing it would go faster but they say the slower you loose the better it is. This old skin of mine could not take the fast lost. My neck is getting wrinkled now.....LOL Just stopped by to say hi and hope all is well

  11. Hey, I'm 5'3 and 225 lbs! I saw your pictures as well and was amazed! My goal weight is 135 and I hope I look as good as you do when everything's said and done. =)

  12. Hey Trish Hows it going?? I am struggling to get this 10 lbs off that I gained after my slip but the scale is finally moving!! Hope things are going good for you!!! :)

  13. Hi Jackie, how're things coming along? How're coping with the band? I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch, I dont visit the site much anymore and there have been some changes with my job - all good - but keeping me busy! :).

I've dropped a little bit more weight but not much. I have good and bad days but I try to stay positive and focus on my end result. Let me know how you're doing.

    Lisa

  14. Heyyy congrats on ur amazing weight loss!!! How did you lose 100 pounds in so little time?

  15. Newbee Bander here! I have so many things going through my mind at this time. Is the weight I have lost average four weeks post op? Are others afraid they are eating too much even though you know you are not? I get excited about what the scale says , then I look in the mirror and feel I should see more. I have been feeling good about everything up until this last week.:+

  16. I've just celebrated my 2nd "Rebirthday." I weighed in at 271 and a half and I'm down to 174 and a half. To average a loss of 2lbs a week is on the "high" end, so you're doing fine...especially since the first month Banders may not lose any weight and many experience a small gain. You're doing fine. My only advice is to get ready to weather to storm when that Band Honeymoon is over...

  17. Thank you. I have not had the lap-band yet. I am waiting to see if Lovelace west side, Albuquerque NM. I have gone thought everything, for 6Mo. I stop drink cole.I eat slow.I have done everthing. So ian think of going to El Paso TX.I hve talk with them,so hope to do it soon.I start at 249lb and now am down to 213,but 2 week ago I gain 7lb.Hope to go down by next week.It is hard to keep it off.

  18. Do you have the Zumba workout DVD at home. As for you weight lose that is really good. I have started tracking what I eat and going to Zumba 3 times and circuit training once a week

  19. I am so sorry to hear that you had been going through all of these changes. I pray things will only continue to get better with you. Maybe if you try to eat more fiber that will also help with some of the constipation. I chew maybe three weight management fiber tables daily. It's an OTC and it really helps my body along with lots of water to be regular. I pray you reach your goal.

  20. Thank you so much for your help. It's funny but as overweight as I am I guess people don't realize it as much and think that I am not that overweight and can just do it myself. It is so hard and such a daily struggle. I have fought with food (too much and too little) since I have been 9 years old. I know this is not a cure..I am a social worker so I am fully aware of why I eat and what I have to do to lose weight..I just can never seem to follow through...

  21. crazzy to say i never really work out my legs because most of my weight i carry it on my upper body. i'm what they call an up side down pear shape. So as a result my legs seem to very stong, can't say much about top but i'mm working on it.

my start weight was 220 now 169 total 60 lb loss.

good luck with ur weight loss.

  22. I'm doing about the same as everyone else working out and eatting less. the biggest thing is getting to a good restriction, for me that is what went right. once i got good restriction the weight just fell off.

  23. Hi Vikki. Congrats on your weight loss. You are a real inspiration. I have been banded for almost 10 months and have only lost 40 lbs. It gets to be very discouraging, but seeing your weight loss is very motivating to me. Keep up the good work!

  24. thank u for the pic comment... yes my decision is more for health reasons this weight is literally killing me i have two small children to think about i want to be around for a long time

  25. Hey smilin_apple,

I saw your response on the before and after thread. Honestly, I just follow the band rules except I work out more than 30 minutes a day. I work out 5-7 hours a week, which helps a lot. I keep my calories around 1500 a day and get my water in. Don't get discouraged! Are you are the right restriction level? You've still lost an incredible amount of weight and you should be proud! Let me know if you ever need to talk or if you're getting discouraged. Best of luck to you!
