I love the old cartoons. Warner Bros. use to have retail stores and I bought everything, clothes, gifts, dog toys and art. Yes I have cartoon art all over the house. About 18-20 years ago I was thinner and purchased a pair of jeans with the Taz, Bugs Bunny and others on them. Today, they FIT!! A super duper NSV for me. I even have the matching 't' shirt. I own a few long sleeved shirts with characters all over them. Like I said. I love the old fashioned cartoons. One of my favorite prints is called 'Speechless'. It is a microphone and off to the side are the characters that Mel Blanc did the voices for. It was when he died. That is my all time favorite. Yes I am a 63 year Grammie who is young at heart and I show it off. Do other young at hearts have cartoon people in their life? Have a great weekend. The weather in Boston is great today. I went to the gym in shorts.

Congrats to you nsv !! Awesome. Every time I get a nsv, it always surprises me, and catches me off guard. And I don't know about anyone else, I continue to think, I should never had let it get to where I was. But, on the flip side, I think id appreciate my journey even more for all what I've gone through. So I'm ok.

Right now I'm having great results on the scale - and know that it comes and goes. Just try to remember these good days on the non-loss or gain days. Started at 475 on May 24. Weighed in at 387 today. 88 pounds in 18 weeks! As good as that feels, I had an ever better feeling experience this week. I flew out to San Diego this week and didn't have to use a seat belt extender (so used to it I own my own). Granted it was a first-class seat and maybe the belts are a bit bigger, but none the less it clicked! Was pretty damn excited! This last fill took me to 9.3 in a 14 cc band, but it's the first fill I really can feel. I'm still eating too fast and have gotten myself into trouble including a very embarrassing projectile vomit situation at a trade show in San Diego, but I may actually be close to GREEN. I would tell any newbies to learn NOW the importance of eating slowly, taking small bites, and learning to make good food choices. Learn it now so that when you get near the green zone and you HAVE to do those things you don't do what I did at the trade show. Pretty sure I'm not allowed back to the San Diego Convention Center anytime soon!

I was folding my laundry today (right out of the dryer -- that's an NSV all on it's own) and every item I pulled out was either yoga pants or a t-shirt. This isn't anything new from my fat days until I realized that I didn't wear these clothes all week because they were comfortable and all I felt like wearing, but because I SWEATED IN THEM every single day this week!! I am no longer wearing my exercise clothes to hold down the couch but to... EXERCISE!!!!!!! And while I am wasting your time, I will throw out that I hiked over 10 miles today, logging 25k+ steps on my fitbit AND I am doing a Pretty Muddy 5k Obstacle course in the morning. AND I LIKE IT!!

This morning, I'm going through security at the airport and the TSA agent looks at my license and looks at me, does a double take and says to me, "you lost some weight since this picture was taken, actually, a lot of weight" I was floored! I think that was the highest of the highs I have had since surgery! On top of that, yesterday I purged my closet yet one more time and I now own exactly 3 pairs of pants. 2 recently purchased size 10 jeans and a pair of yoga pants that are big but still stay up! Is life great or what?????

Earlier this month (September 7th to be exact) I participated in my first 5k. Although I didn't run or jog, walking a 5k was a huge accomplishment for me. A year ago I would have never thought about participating in a 5k. Next month I'm doing two 5k's. I love my sleeve and the opportunities it has given me. I wish I would have made the decision to have surgery much sooner.

Absolutely - your journey is going to be full of NSV's. I seriously suggest you make a NSV storybook - rather than a journal...take picks or write about when you had your NSV's about how that felt, how it compared to before...mention things it made you think of or emotions that it brought to the surface. This can be a very good reference and motivational tool later on.

I'm so excited! Today is the first day I've put my jeans on since my surgery a week and a half ago and they were much looser! I could pull them away almost 2 inches from my belly and they used to be skin tight and cut into me! I'm so exicted!!! I can't believe I'm comfy in my jeans! Also, I put on a ring I haven't wore in a while and it was loose on my hand! I can't believe 26.5 pounds would make that much of a difference!!! Especially since I'm not even two weeks out from surgery! Has anyone else had any NSVs yet?!

So we go to the grocery store yesterday. My husband and I split up to divide and conquer the pesky grocery shopping. After a bit, he starts to look for me. I was standing in front of him, just down the aisle. He didn't recognize me right away I think he likes my new body. I took a sip of soda before allowing it to go flat first a couple of weeks ago and I have to be honest, the bubbling from the carbonation doesn't feel good in my mouth anymore. Not only that, it became apparent that the gas in it could easily expand my pouch. Not worth it. I craved it really bad at first, so I would let it get flat (keeping it uncapped for a few days) before drinking it. That got me over the hump, but now I don't even need to do that anymore. I'm in love with green, black and black currant tea now. NSV

This is an NSV cos I can ride my bike! I went riding with my husband on Sunday in an area where we knew there would be swooping magpies so I put the helmet-mounted camera on and started filming. Uploaded to YouTube last night (search for Tracey Matthies on YouTube), and now the Victorian Channel Seven news have picked it up and will be using it to illustrate a story on a government magpie map tonight! -

That moment you look at a cute pair of jeans, pick up a size you never thought you'd fit in to again and think... "There is NO way these are going to fit!!"......and then they do!!! :) On my surgery day (February 1st), I was comfortably wearing size 26W jeans. Not quite 8 months out, and I just bought a size 14 from American Eagle! I have to admit, while I love seeing the number on the scale drop, I love all the NSV's that come with this journey so much more!
