I'm glad that I'm not the only one is who going through this! I didn't ask the why behind his reasoning because it really wasn't a big deal to me (*TMI* my libido has been NIL since I was about 6 months pregnant...and my son is almost 2) and I just assumed it was a common practice for these type of procedures.

Some advice, please?!?!
Stephanee replied to Stephanee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Jess--Yes, 5 kids is very different. After I had my son (at the age of 17), I swore I didn't wan to have any other children! And thanks for the supportive advice! And its nice to meet you! Jenny--I have no idea why my doctor has approached me about my weight. I really wish he had and not the jerk PS! The only thing I can think of is that I just recently started seeing him and perhaps he didn't want to come off as "rude". But I dont get that because it is NOT rude for a medical doctor to sit someone down and discuss their health and offer them guidance. There is something wrong with attacking someone and then not offering them solutions. Thanks, Jenny because it helps to know that there are people out there in my shoes. And its nice to meet you, too! :Banane33: Lisalee--Ive lived in fantasy land and thought that as long as I felt sexy, other people would view me as sexy...and all is good. Well, it hasnt been and you are sooo right, it's a disease. It killed my mother and I am NOT willing to have my children have to say that about me someday. Thanks for your advice and its nice to meet you as well. Okay, so here is the update people are asking for. I woke up this morning, sick:sick as could be. But I still reached for the phone (8:20 am, too!) not expecting to have the Bariatric receptionist to pick up. I didn't know whether to be scared or thrilled when she answered the phone! She took some information and encouraged me to go to a seminar. I assumed that the next one would be weeks away. Ha! I ended up scheduling the seminar for this Thursday, at 2 pm. WOW, that was fast! I hung up from there, got my 16 year old dressed for school and was ready to walk out the door when I (TMI, so, Im sorry!) threw up everywhere. Justin went ahead and took Cecil to school while I stayed home. Again, not feeling well, I picked up the phone to schedule an appointment with my regular doctor because I want his support, too. And wham, bam, thank you ma'am, I have an appointment today at 12:30. Double WOW! I guess I was feeling lucky because I called UHC just to find out their qualifications. Which are, 40+ BMI and at least 21 y/o. That shocked me because Ive heard you have to have psych evals and possibly other medical conditions. UHC gave me a list of doctors that are in network and wouldn't ya know? The doctor I am seeing on Thursday is IN NETWORK.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: So, now I am really nervous. Nothing in life has ever been this smooth or fast...and I am nervous because I dont quite have a BMI of 40. Any suggestions? And thanks everyone for all of the support! And sorry for all the cheesy smiley faces...I just feel so empowered today, so thanks so much!!! -
Bonjour! Well, it's Sunday. Off to the hospital tomorrow. I have to be there for 3.30pm, even though the operation isn't until Tuesday morning. I get a 'light supper' about 5 pm, then apparently I'm to have a shower and wash my hair with some antibacterial jollop that smells like drain cleaner! and again in the morning. The instructions are very precise on how and where to wash - makes particular mention of your bellybutton and between your bumcheeks :scared0: Hope they don't come and inspect!!! The hospitals here are very hot on preventing MRSA (do you have that in US?) by scrubbing everything and everyone to within an inch of their lives. Which is a good thing. I took the dogs up around our fields this morning - the sun is shining, birds were singing fit to bust. :thumbup1: I collected the eggs, did a bit of weeding in the veg patch and planted some more salad crops. Couldn't help wondering when I will do that next - not too long, I hope! Spent ages in the bathroom, used all my body scrubs and delicious shower gels (had already got rid of the 'lady garden' (TMI, I know )... Buffed my finger and toenails, did the cuticles... I'm scrubbed, smoothed, trimmed and fragrant as can be. It is all about displacement activity and that pretence of being in control again!! Tomorrow is my last blog entry before I'm a fully-fledged sleever! Can't believe it.. Will load some more radio programmes onto my iPod today - I have Book at Bedtime, Play for Today, the News Quiz and The Archers Omnibus x 2 and Desert Island Discs (All from Radio 4 and 7 - the Brits on here will recognise the progs!). French TV is so rubbish, it isn't worth me paying the equivalent of 10 dollars a day for my own TV.

Shock, excitement and time to get ready
NotSoTall replied to NotSoTall's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Five weeks out today. Now down 16 pounds post op, 10 pre, 26 total. Nutrition has been good. What I'm finding more challenging are the vits/meds or at least the timing of them. Have to get that down before heading back to work next week. New lunch tote landed and freezer packs so I'm ready to haul everything daily so it's at my fingertips. The other challenge this past week was painful. Possible TMI. Early last week started a painful constipation episode which further agitated a chronic hemorrhoid issue. There was a lot of stabbing pain, bleeding, overall discomfort. Ick! Started taking miralax and stool softeners. 4 days laters things resolved, but OMG I will not slack off softeners for a while. Exercise is another issue. I'm really enjoying working on chores around the house with my new energy, but am not being good about exercise specifically. This is something I must work on. I can tell as time goes on this becomes a bigger mental game in order to keep from slipping into lazy habits such as not tracking or not exercising. I'm okay with the tracking, but the lack of formal exercise shows me I've already slacked off a bit on the post-op plan. This week will be all about reeling back in so I go back to work with my head on straight. -
The good thing about being a slow loser
LilMissDiva Irene replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Feed that's a very interesting idea! Actually I am having some cukes as we speak - so day 1 and done It's worth 0 points so I'm good to go... :-) @DJ, to be honest I think I was grazing way too much first thing. Not on things that are necessarily bad, however I have made some bad choices in here and there. That's no longer now because I'm logging on Weight Watchers and I'm only allowing myself 24 points per day. That equals to anywhere from 900-1200 calories depending what I'm eating. You get dinged heavily for foods that are high fat and high carb. However they go easy on foods that are high protein and high fiber. :-) It's working!! A few other things I've changed is I bought a DVD from Target, the Leslie Sansone Walk away the pounds. She has a fantastic 2 week diet that is so packed with nutrients and very well balanced. Of course I can't eat the portions she suggests, barely by half. Isn't that amazing I can't even eat a "diet" program??!! I love that!! Well I'm on day 3 today... so far so good. The food is so healthy and delicious and I'm not gonna beat around the bush here - I feel totally incredible. My workouts have been outstanding because my energy level is thru the roof right now. I've gotten back to eating more veggies, fruits and whole grains. In looking at percentages I'd say I'm doing about 50% protein, 25% Fats and 25% Carbs. Not bad... One other thing, I've been "going" really regular too since. It's not small amounts (sorry tmi) and it also makes me feel great!! @Chilo - Big Hugs!!! @coops - Hoorayyy!!!! Gosh, being a slow loser sure puts a big spin on every pound doesn't it?? I'm telling you I was jumping for joy when I saw that this morning!!! Congrats and here's to many more!! Cheers!! -
TMI I know... Sleeved on Monday and I am on Clear liquids only (Water and G2 are all I've had). I'm only taking zofran, chewable Tylenol and Prevacid.?Today I had an incident where I had gas and then felt like there was a problem - and sure enough, I had pooped like a baby! What's happening? Surprisingly, even though I've been very overweight most of my life, I've very rarely hard issues with chaffing in my sensitive areas. But since I've been losing weight, I've had a terrible time with chaffing in my groin area, and underneath my belly/pubic area. It hurts horribly bad and I'm miserable! I tried to find some of that Monistat soothing chaffing cream, but I couldn't find it at Walgreens tonight. I'll have to look somewhere else tomorrow. Has anyone else had this issue as they were losing weight?? It makes no sense that I'm having this problem considering I'm smaller now!

i apologize first for my questions: with the pre-surgery diet and post-op diets (consisting of liquids/mushy etc).... how does this affect your bowel movement? i work in an office environment and just kinda curious at what to expect (before/after). on the after, how about the (gas) i read so much about..how do you handle that? appreciate any feedback. -
Was THAT dumping? (Wine related)
freethinker posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am beating myself up for this one - 6 wks post-op and last night I drank 2 iced-down glasses of wine over about 2 hour period. It was dumb and I was not thinking because at 4 am I awoke with a burning tummy. TMI - but the bathroom was not pretty: sweating, wanting die, other gross things and me laying on the cold bathroom floor... I am thinking it was the sugar in the wine that caused the "dumping"?? I feel like craaaap today. -
after surgery 09/12/17 tuesday
Coffeelark replied to binocjohn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine on 12th too. Walking, even rocking in rocking chair help with gas pain. I use a warm pack on my abdomen and shoulders, it helps gas dissipate. I used a glycerine suppository, it helped me pass some gas. TMI. Rest some, but walk more. Water, water, water...in small sips. -

rensterness85 replied to unbesleevable1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, this may be TMI but as a man ill finally be able to look down and actually see my you know what! Yippie lol. Also, I know I'm looking forward to saying bye bye to those additional meds I won't need once the weight makes its way off :-) Scheduled to be sleeved week of October 18th. -
I first made contact with the Boom Princess about 12 years ago doing Low Carb. I had to call on her often for help. :biggrin0: Even the Benefiber doesn't help if I let myself get constipated. YUCK! and way TMI! I think I'm about 2x a week these days. I can't wait until adding raw veggies is allowed as I know that will help. I think I get stopped up by Protein shakes but it's a toss up.... constipated or losing hair? Hmmmm.... now what should I choose?

Okay I am sorry, but I am two days on mushies and my tummy is a gross gassy mess and I feel like I need to use the restroom, but nothing! I barely had any bm's with liquid but I thought that was probably normal, but this is super funky! How can I get in some fiber, my tummy has no room for anything more.

A record of my experience... from start to finish... rants and all!
njgal replied to njgal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok folks... 6 weeks out and a TMI post for y’all: Ok so THIS is constipation. 45 mins of agony on the toilet [emoji37] then an enema, which, 5-7 mins after being inserted, burned like hell. I must’ve damaged something beforehand. Needless to say hubby and I are a new kind of close now [emoji4] At the risk of being gross; didn’t realize this much had accumulated, I mean, I’ve been having bms daily so what gives? And I’d been taking fiber too so I guess it’s time to up it even more 🤨 Feeling better now. -

I'm verrrrryyy nervous and have changed my mind about 20 times...smh..my liquid diet wasn't bad at all. The first two days I had a headache but after that just fine. I am constipated (tmi) lol... taking benefiber and stool softner so I hope it works....How are you? Whay city areyou in? Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App -
I'm a thong woman..yes even big, I'd go to Fredrick's of Hollywood. I found that with all that back action going on, panties always looked huge on me. Plus the panty line...hubby loves it, I hate it. When it's time look at Fredrick's of Hollywood. They have great sizes and styles and you can get some really racy (crotchless for your hubby) and comfy (for you). I just realized I probably gave wayyy TMI but I love panties...the way some ladies like shoes. So I can tell you all the best places to get a good comfy pair that's also sexy!

Post- Op Day 3- Rashes And Revalations!
♥LovetheNewMe♥ commented on sweetsoutherngirl's blog entry in sweetsoutherngirl's Blog
Great progress, I totally understand the "TMI", I have plenty of bodily noises that I make now that I just except and move on. Sounds like you are doing well with your proteins and liquids. I remeber thinking in the early days how would I ever get in all that protein, I was barely drinking or taking in 400 calories a day but it gets easier over time. Good Luck. -
I am still a newbie here almost 2 months post-op and maybe this is tmi but I really need some advice! I think I have a stomache bug of some kind... going on day 4 of killer D! I am really concerned about hydration at this point trying to get extra water in but I dont know if this is enough..should I be calling my surgeon or riding this out? ???? Any advice?

Newly sleeved 2.28.13
jacee replied to prettylittleheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
nurse told me i can take a capsule of stool softner and that helped. Hello, Did you take a capsule or gel cap? Also what kind was it? Skip this line if your queasy TMI but a bowel movement at this stage of the game consists of liquid. Hey I am gratefull for that even. As it eases 3/4 of the worst of it for awhile. Out of 12 trips to the bathroom, I may be able to go 1 time. Its discouraging, cause its the only thing that helps. This too shall pass...I know..just wish it would hurry up. J -
Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
ashleytn replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
RN, I was given medicine to make me loopy before being taken into the OR. I barely remember getting on the table. I wouldn't worry about it. They were just probably trying to help you relax. This might be a TMI question so my apologies beforehand. I'm now on my full liquids. I have a protein shake for breakfast and snack. Every time I drink one, I have to go to the bathroom. What in the world could be causing diaherria (I know that's not spelled right lol)? I am almost to the point of giving up on them. The shakes did not do that to me before surgery. -

I know this is TMI but since I had surgery Tuesday I couldn't release gas or make a bowel movement, as of today I haven't stopped! I'm so gassy and so much diarrhea! My stomach is constantly gurgling and rumbling lol! It's annoying! How long do u think this will take place! I'd like to sleep tonight! :/ -

June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!
Lala70 replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey guys! I’m also on a weight loss stale, which I’m partially okay with. I’ve lost 17 lbs, since June 28th. I’m starting my purée diet tomorrow which is a relief. I’m tired of jello, popsicles, and broth. I’m struggling because sorry if it’s TMI but I’m on my period for the second time this month! And goodness, this flow is heavy!!! I even got a yeast infection after taking antibiotics! Something I’ve never experienced. I’m also constipated. It’s a lot to go through for a person in one month. Like I said, sorry for TMI but just checking in and hoping I’m not the only one going through this. -
Ok... so I wax... actually hubby waxes me. We find it kinda romantic. I highly recommend Gigi brazilain wax... it comes in a kit with pre-wax oil which is a MUST. I get it at Sally's Beauty Supply. Several of my friends "sugar" instead of waxing. They say they prefer it but I like the waxing better. TMI? Oh well...somebody asked.
