Hi there, contrary to what you feel you are doing great !! Just think about it prior to surgery would you have been down 30 something pounds ?? It's really easy to get caught up on the numbers, I did it and it drove me crazy that the scale didnt move an inch in 2 weeks besides my consistent excercise and calorie counting, but you also need to learn how to read your NSV ( non-scale victories) thsoe sometimes can mean so much more than just the numbers. Do your jeans feel better ? do you knees or ankles hurt as much ?? Does your body look just generally better ala naturale in the mirror ?? these are all things that you should take into consideration as part of the whole weight loss package. the numbers can be very deciving, even a glass of water can throw it off or not enough water can also throw them off !! So learn to listen to your body and identify all your other wonderful success along the way !!!

What a great NSV, I think Zoe had that some "looking like hooker" one. For some reason that makes me laugh. My DH, while he hasn't lost anything recently, is in the process of redistributing everything.. he looks like the amazing melting fat man. His his sholders and neck are starting too look almost like a normal person (who needs a boob job in a really bad way)... I know that a lot of poeple lose bulk top down. Congrats again, and a good bra can make anyone perky!

My clothes still fit.. Feeling discouraged
TXJess replied to Tracyann1983's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
. So Zizi is right - the larger the size, the larger the range it will accommodate. Generally, in the double digit regular sizes it is 20 pounds = one size. I think in the Woman's sizes it is a wider range. Also - how is your body shaped? Can you go down in a size on top, but not bottom, or vice versa. And also - focus on other NSV's (non-scale victories) for now. You are doing amazing! -
This may be a dumb question, but what does NSV stand for? I've seen it in different forums, and I can't quite figure it out.

We entertained over the weekend and A LOT of junk food ended up making its way to my kitchen. I snacked on some of it yesterday... and the effects showed up on the scale this morning. So, I went straight downstairs, dumped chips, dips, cookies, peanuts, etc. down the garbage disposal. Some (my dh included if he knew would call this waste, but is it really a waste if the food has absolutely no nutritional value?? I don't think so!!

anncharlie replied to soumahoro551's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
are you really 57??? omg... if you are...you look good girl... I am 55 and I had the sleeve ... I am down 32 lbs too... and at a stall ... I think my friend is coming... yes I still have that friend... lol I think our bodies drop the weight so quickly ... it needs time to regroup... there are so many NSV right now though to compensate for the slow down... like... fitting into smaller sizes in pants and tops.... OMG.... plus MORE ENERGY.... I am a happy camper at this point... -
Congratulations! Your life will be kind of like that of the Phoenix. You will rise after that date to live a longer, happier and healthier life and be able to do the things you couldn't do and enjoy more NSVs than you can shake a stick at.

One of my big NSV is not being terrified of a camera...I had to make a conscious decision to not hide when photos were being taken. Was so glad I did! I even posed in a bathing suit!

ladydi way to go on the NSV! It does feel great when you make it to a size you haven't been in awhile. My thoughts are with you for your surgery! A question to you all, do we ever get rid of "mental" hunger? I find there are still times when I think that I'm hungry but instead of reaching for food I now reach for Water or take a walk. I think that it is fill time for me so I'm going to go make the call. Ya'll take care!

Oh Yeah! Just got back from internist's office. I've had hypertension for 5 years. BP was high (150/100), even with meds. Now, after the two-week pre-op diet and 2 weeks of banding, my BP is 110/80. Zipadeedppdah!!! I get to cut my meds in half and doc says in another three months he doubts I will need them at all. I have a big stoooopid grin on my face!!! I love my band!!!:clap2:

I decided on my last fill that I would ask for what I wanted. I told the PA to "get serious" and fill that sucker up. She added .5 cc I think and it made a big difference in restriction. So, I say, go for it -- ask for what you want. You're paying for it. If it's too tight, you'll know when you drink the Water or they will see in on the fluoroscope. Robin, I am so proud of you -- you are doing so awesome. You have so much to be proud of. All those NSV's to go along with your great weight loss!! Especially, the health-related ones. Those are truly the best. I may be able to do lunch on Saturday -- I have a busy weekend since this last one was a total bust with being sick, but I'd love to see you and anyone else that is available. Otherwise, after the end of this month, my schedule frees up a lot. I am finally feeling like I'm going to survive -- I'm even going to get into the office tomorrow even though I worked 10+hours today, I did it from my bed, which is a lot easier! Take care!! P.S. I'm totally excited that I am now classified as "slightly overweight!!"

Just checking in with everyone to see how you all are? It's been hard consistently getting on here. I need to make it a priority because it keeps me accountable. What ups & downs has everyone experienced? What NSV's are super exciting? How is the family/friends support? Feel free to add any other topics! Just curious to see how we are all progressing! Mags

This guy that I have kinda dated on and off for 5 yrs. Haven't seen him in a year or so called the other night wanting to go to dinner. So I went. Keep in mind I have only lost around 30lbs. Most people don't even notice yet. Went to dinner and movie and he was supposed to come over one night this week and watch a movie. He texted me today(he does not know about the surgery) and told me that he really liked me bigger and if I wasn't willing to put the weight back on he didn't think he was interested anymore. I didn't even respond to the text. Can you believe that..Obviously we weren't serious but what a weirdo. I thought he liked me in spite of my weight. Guess it turnes out it was because of my weight. lol -
Stall...at 10 days? Any thoughts?
Kindle replied to A'sgotthis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't weigh yourself for about a month. Concentrate on water, protein, vitamins and healing. I rarely weighed, so I didn't even know I was in a stall unless it lasted 2-4 weeks. Believe me, I was a lot happier than all the posters on here that stress about every little number on the scale. If you are following your plan You will lose weight whether you step on the scale or not. Just enjoy the NSVs. -
Oh my goodness, Stace! You look great! What a wonderful NSV as to see your own pictures and realize how far yu've come! Congrats to you, keep up the great work. Karen

I got on the scale this morning and it read 199.0! I think it has been 18 years since I weighed below 200 lbs. I went shopping last week and I was able to buy XL tops and size 16 pants! That is down from 3X tops and 24 pants. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I am 52 years old. I was sleeved on November 4, 2015 (15 weeks ago). My recovery from this surgery was very easy and I am thankful every day that I had this procedure done. I now LIKE leaving the house to go places and I hope to have a job interview in the next week or so (telephone interview last Friday). I even took a picture of me in my new interview clothes and sent it to my daughter and I would not be embarassed if she showed it to anyone else. That is a big deal as I have stayed out of pictures for YEARS. Two weeks ago I took my son to visit a college campus and I was able to walk the the whole tour! That was about 2 hours of walking around the campus and different buildings. 6 months ago I couldn't have done that. HW: 265 SW: 243 CW: 199 Good luck to those just starting this process. All you post-op people please keep posting your successes and NSVs - they are appreciated and encouraging to all of us. Summer -

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!
KikiVal315 replied to pinkdots410's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my nsv for today, its more of a confidence thing...yesterday we went to disneyland. even when i was bigger, i would always try to brainwash myself into thinking that i didn't care what others thought about me. deep inside i did. i would be embarassed to go out to public places like those, thinking that other people were thinking "what is that skinny guy doing with that cow?" well, i have to say, i had the most fun ever yesterday with my husband, and didn't EVER think people were judging me! i love the pictures we took, ill put them up soon, and from looking at them, i can't believe how far i've come. its one of the best feelings in the world... -
What incredible news! I'm so excited for you! And I agree - that's the best NSV I've EVER heard on this board!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
