  1. Go for it. I think it could be a very satisfying thing to have under your belt. A significant NSV.

    Small victory!!

I can totally relate to that! I went out to eat awhile back and had to ask for a table because I couldn't fit in the booth. It was so embarrassing! All of the other customers just stared at me and I heard some laugh. I wanted to crawl under that table & disappear! I still have some issues with booths, I'm always afraid I won't fit even though I do now. That is an awesome NSV!!

    Small victory!!

Last night I had dinner at a restaurant that 1 year ago I couldn't fit in the booth. It is a great NSV!! Good for us and everyone else who now fits

Wonderful NSV. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the interview!

    First NSV!

    YAAAAY!!! What an awesome NSV!!
  6. Fit into a pair of non plus size pants this morning...feels great!

    Ladies TMI Incontinence

I found this to be very private and hard to talk about, did not even tell my Dr. I am 7 weeks post op 45 pounds down and I no longer have that issue. Very happy....NSV I guess
  8. I've made the first cut for a new position and the hiring committee is conducting interviews over the next two days. Because I'm currently overseas, I was offered two choices for the interview: conference call or Skype session. Six months ago I'd have opted for the no-visual conference call, thinking it would up my chances of being selected if they couldn't see how overweight I was and just go by my professional qualifications. But this time? I jumped on the chance to have the on-camera interview. Got my hair done, put on a great suit and jewelry, and feel confident that where I am weightwise will not dissuade the committee from pushing my candidacy forward. NSV! Even if I don't make the next round, or if I decide the job/move isn't a good fit for me and my family, I've already won this one by turning on that camera.

    NSV

I work in a 10 story building with several different businesses on each floor. Today as I boarded the elevator to go up to the 9th floor a lady who I have never met (who works on the 2nd floor) said, "You have lost a lot of weight! Keep up the good work!" My coworker gave me a high five and I did a little victory dance the rest of the elevator ride. Great motivation going into the 10th month of this journey.

    Toilet Seat!

That is a great NSV. Good for you.

    Toilet Seat!

Good news is I'm down 70 pounds! Weird NSV is that now sometimes when I sit on the toilet I feel like I'm going to fall in! I don't have as much rump to cover the toilet seat anymore. :-)

    A caution about fills

I have 1.5 cc in a 4 cc band any more than that any I am to tight. I Love ice cream shakes but it would not mater how tight the band was ice cream and chocolate will always slide down for me. So just because I love them does not mean I can have them every day. Fortunately for me I make more good choices than Bad choices and I concentrate on The NSV's.

    NSV- I'll take it!

Hahaha! I suppose you can count it as an NSV! I don't know if I would! I had a hysterectomy a few years ago and do NOT miss having a period at all, but I can understand how if you haven't been regular for years how it could be exciting

    NSV- I'll take it!

I am going to consider this a NSV. I think I am actually on a regular schedule for my period! It has been probably 15 years since I have been any sort of regular. Going on three months now, and on schedule. Don't know why I am so excited lol I guess the whole waiting game of having it every few months before is gone.
  15. NSV- size L gym pants!! My weight has not changed in 5-7 months but I like smaller sizes. Tops are still XL, have a muffin top still.

  16. For as long as I can remember I have loved the skinny jeans and knee high boots look. This weekend I finally found a decent pair of skinny jeans and today I wore my knee high boots with them. I was so excited to be able to pull this look off!!
  17. Well two in the same day!! This morning I was getting ready to leave the house and it was cold so I pulled out some jeans that once fit but were too tight on me at the end of last winter and they fit comfortably!!! Also while out shopping for new walking shoes this morning I was checking a cute pair out in the mirror I stepped back and I looked at myself and I smiled. I look thinner in my hips and thighs! I've still got a journey ahead of me but YAY!
  18. exactly...my plan is to measure my success by NSV's and not numbers! I just dont want to have the surgery- and because I'm slow losing, be afraid that i wont be successful. all i really want is to be under 200! thats 50 pounds! surely i can do that. LOL! you are all inspirations to us pre surgery. thank you for still being here and helping us. i have 10 days left! my doc is removing my band laporoscpy, and then doing my RNY with a robot for the first time. (of course- if he can) i want to say the robot is the reason for my nerves...but i would be scared having any surgery. i think im phobic! i had a c-section without drugs in 99. they just cut me open and took him out.

    Scale Intervention

I think the scale can be your best friend or your worst enemy. For me, in my dieting days before the band, I would allow the scale to dictate my day and my life. If the scale was down from the previous day, I'd be happy as a clam, eat well, do all the right things. If the scale was up, I was done. I'd eat like crap since the scale was up anyway, I'd be done with that weeks diet, and not step on the scale again for days, weeks, and sometimes months until I began the next one. I did this for years and years. I told myself before I got my band that I was NOT going to do this to myself anymore. While my goal was/is to obviously lose weight, the biggest thing is to be healthy. As long as I eat right, and follow the rules, I'm doing good regardless of what the scale says. I DO weigh myself every morning, but I do it to keep myself accountable, and remind myself what I'm working towards. I no longer get angry when the scale moves the wrong way, I only record when I have a loss...sometimes I have one 3 days in a row, sometimes it's 2 weeks in between losses. I'm ok with that! No need to live and die by what the scale says! There's so much greatness that comes with this journey...I've said this many times, but it's the way that I feel, and the NSV's that I truly love most!!

    I can't handle the puddle!

LOL!!! Oh the NSVs that are so good, but so humiliating at the same time
  21. I went shopping yesterday because my work pants are starting to get too lose. I drove my poor mother nuts. I'm like between sizes. I can fit a 16 but they just feel tight and I'm not used to that so it's uncomfortable for me. I did have a nsv at jcpenny though. I put on a pair of skinny jean, which is an absolute first for me bc I've just never felt confident enough to wear them. They fit!!! They were perfect!! I loved them!! I didn't buy anything else though. I just wasn't happy with the way anything looked. I ended up buying two pairs of shoes because shoes are always my go to. They always fit and never make me sad.
  22. I LOVE your NSV.. I relate. I love to shop at the second hand stores and find too small clothes to shrink into. I NEVER would have dared do that in the past because deep down I knew I would fail :-( My NSV that made me happy that USED to make me sad was walking my bike up a hill today. Last time I had a bike many years ago, I felt so defeated every time I had to walk it up a hill, but now it doesn't bother me at all, I just make a mental note of the point where I had to get off and try to get a little further next time. I'm happy even though I can't climb many hills on my bike.... that there isn't a hill out there I can't WALK up!
  23. Yes you read that right. I've had to go through my closet and bag up suits. At least 3 huge black garbage bags full of them. I am on a biz trip now and we were trying on my smaller suits. After creating enough for one more garbage bag, my husband and I celebrated every time we found one that was still too TIGHT because I could at least save that and count on being able to wear it soon! How WEIRD is that??! In the old days I would have been so depressed that they were tight, but now they're my insurance that I don't have to go shop quite yet (unless it's for books, electronics, or gadgets, I HATE shopping). Side note, my husband's life has changed too. My son and he were joking about getting hookers to come over while I was traveling. I reminded him that these days, his version of naughty was going to be ordering a pizza :-D It wouldn't be so funny if it weren't also true. Anyway, happy about my clothes! What are your NSVs of things that might have made you sad but now make you happy? Another for me is not eating cake. Would have made me sad, but now it makes me happy.

    Funny NSV!

My cat likes to curl up on my lap and use my soft belly as a pillow (and to knead). Lately I've noticed he's been having trouble getting comfortable because there is less of a belly! He's kind of a runt but can put his arms around my waist now, lol. Even my mom noticed when she visited last week. This was not something I thought about 50 pounds ago, but I'm not complaining!
  25. Just wanted to share some of my NSV's I've discovered within my 5 weeks post op 1. I am not out of breath when I walk from parking garage to my office. I used to have to do that "fake" cough to try to get my breathing normal so everyone didn't think "Damn, she's out of shape!" 2. I had sleep apnea but now my hubby says I'm not snoring any longer! And my sleep is real sleep now! I feel like a full 6 hrs is more than I ever got sleeping longer before! this is a big deal to me! My sleep apnea doctor is on my FB page and is thrilled as well. 3. I actually park at the end of the parking lot when shopping or going to grocery store. NEVER before did I ever think to do this. In 2010-2012 I had a handicap parking pass because of my back surgeries. I'm very proud of this one! 4. My grown children said this weekend "Mom! You have a waist" I almost cried!!!!!! I LOVE MY SLEEVE and want to thank Dr. Illan and his wonderful team for helping me with these victories!!!!!! God Bless you all on this journey! {{hugs}} Sherry HW 326, SW301, CW 273 woot-woot!
