  1. Hi: About the plastic surgery. Please ask your doctor to put in a pain pump. I forget the exact term for it, but my plastic surgeon used one. She puts it in while she's doing the surgery and it has very small tubes that go from a bottle of anesthetic (kind of the size of a baby bottle) to the area of your surgery on the inside. It was like a quick shot of numbing that I could control just prior to getting out of bed, or anything that I could plan that might cause pain. It only lasted for three days but it was truly a godsend. I think you look fabulous! Good luck with the surgery. I'm curious about why you're getting a panniculectomy and not a tummy tuck. I was able to get the tummy tuck with insurance coverage for the panni. So, I paid the difference for the additional time, etc. Best wishes to you with your plastic surgery. I'll be thinking of you on 8/17!

  2. Doing great, thanks. Can't believe the weight loss. Down 82 lbs and I feel 25 yrs younger. My wife thinks I'm a shopaholic as I've been buying a few pieces of clothing every week. lol.lol

  3. Wow....I am so proud of you "running on the treadmill this morning @ 3.5 with 2 incline" YOU GO!!!!! Now that is very encouraging to me. Wooo girl...its been so long running at an incline...you have me on a mission to get back to that. This is great being able to share. Are you on mushies yet? This is a little harder to me because I am scared to eat somethings...fear gaining. I just received my order for this thermogenic product from the company I recently started to work with. I am going to try it 4 two weeks and see what happens. Its supposed to increase my metabolism and burn more fat...I know I am crazy but I must try I saw myself in a pic at 210 recently and damn...lol. Chat with ya soon.

  4. Hi-I would like a little support from a buddy if you are interested. I was banded Oct 2007, lost 115# but was vomiting daily. Had unfill a month ago and gained 14# and just had some filled last week and it is slow going as everything is different again. I do not get full right away, the food has to sit and then I get the fullness feeling. I have to learn how to eat differently again! Any suggestions? Am trying to increase the exercise, but stopping the snacking is hard. And drinking water gets old. Help if you can! Thanks so much. I want to lose 10-15# and then maintain! Have to keep a food diary for the NP who did my fill as they were not happy with my gain (I had no restriction at that point and lost control) Thanks, Suz in Iowa

  5. Hi, I live in Richmond and was banded by Dr. Bautista on 7/22. I am thrilled to find someone here who also had him. How are you doing? I am one week post band and have lost 21 lbs (16 pre-op).

  6. Barbara, How have you been? I am going in for my first fill tomorrow. I must say I am excited. I will get on the scale to see if I have lost? I know I have but not how much. I do not own a scale for fear I would be on it every minute of the day. I was banded about four and a half weeks ago. Hope all is well with you. Would love to hear from you and how you are doing? Kathy imaluckydog

  7. Hi! Long time since I've checked messages! Did you have your next fill? Sorry to hear about the chugging adventure. Thanks for the heads up. I go back next week for a fill and boy do I need it. With only .5 in, I can eat more than I'd like. My weight loss is crawling, but I'm happy that at least it's going in the right direction. Can't wait to hear how it was after the second fill. Do you notice a different? Look forward to the update!!

  8. Thanks for the compliment man, I don't know anybody by the name creeder. Is he in the Philadelphia area? Cause that's where i'm from. Dude, I saw some of your pictures and it's amazing that u lost all that weight. I inspire to look like that after a year. As for the band, It was put in last week, so i'm new to this. The hardest thing for me now is the liquid diet. How'd you feel the 1st month after surgery?

  9. Hey one month out now!!! Let the countdown begin! Just caught up on your last few blogs...hope the pneumonia clears up...getting the right antibiotic can be tricky! I hope they gave you a breathing tube test to take home...it helps improve and know how you're doing (just one of those plastic things that measures the intake). I've heard beating on your chest can help break things up (DBF?), but that might make you a little sore...urban legend?...who knows. Glad everything else is going well...like you said 'meant to be'.

No Onederland or head lop for me yet...up and down the same 3 pounds for weeks, but I've got my third fill tomorrow so keep your eyes crossed for me!

  10. 21lbs in 2 weeks is better than I've ever heard of. You're on your way to ba-kini land!!

  11. Hey Bobbie,

Hi, I am sorry I haven't replied before now. I haven't been on this site in so long. Summer, Vacations, Work, issues at work. The gym and family responsibilities have bogged me down lately.

I don't guess I really have any hints, I came here today to get some from others, really. I am at a stand still and have been it seems, forever.

I started out at 247 and this morning the scales showed 217. It sucks. I had lost down to 214 before and I keep going up and down between 214 and 219, this has been going on for six weeks now. (to be cont.)

  13. Hi Bean1980 I guess I am doing good or at least the doctor says so. I have lost a total of 28 pounds but I would like to lose faster LOL. I had my first fill last week it is a little harder to swallow and I somtimes forget and take to big of a bite but I am learning fast LOL. I hope that you are doing well with your band.

  14. Hey Barbara! Thanks for checking on me. We're having DS1's HS Graduation Party tomorrow and I've just been swamped (huge party). It's been one of those weeks where everything that can go wrong has (ie. making him a quilt and the belt on my sewing machine broke...my sis is bringing me a portable today so it's going to be a wild day). Just checking in here to put in my Friday weigh in with the Bunnies. Hope you're doing well...got to run, but I'll check in when this is all over. -BG

  15. I work out 6 days a week some days I go twice. I dont eat pasta or rice I may eat a piece of bread once a week. Im a stickler for following rules.

  16. hEY! Good luck w/ orientation. I'm doing ok but you haven't heard much b/c I am not losing weight. I've been at the same "lbs" since 2 wks ago but I am losing inches, all over. Down like 41 inches total and my work outs have gone from 20 minutes to 90 minutes at a time. I try to do 3-4x a week, so the pounds thing is annoying. Bladder issues right now on my personal site, just working through it daily!!!

  17. Hi, I will be banded in 2 weeks and getting nervous. I really do want and need to do this, but I guess Im looking for all the support and encouragement that I can get. I will be posting pics soon.

  18. Hi Joe! How are you doing? Well I went back to work this week and wish I had taken a little more time off... Oh well, I will make it. My short term disability insurance was denied because Dr. Perez and Ceron didn't get the paperwork filled out completely. Aetna is going to call them and try to get the information they need. I asked then to please have a spanish speaking person talk to the Doctor. They might get further. It was like pulling teeth to get anything filled out once I was back in the states. I have a feeling if all of this hinges on the good Doctor filling the paperwork out that I might be SOL.

Hope you are adjusting. I haven't been able to contact Kimberly :(. Have you heard from her? Hope she is doing ok.Are you having any problems eating mushy food? I find that I am getting hungry a couple of hours after eating but can't seem to eat much at one time! So I am still losing weight. 35 pounds so far! Yeah! Tell your sweet wife hello for me and let me know how you are doing!

  19. I am doing good today. The first 5 days were rough. I could not get out of bed for a long period of time. I felt like crap but I have been improving ever since. I am excersing again. Just doing the treadmill and eliptical for about 20 mins a day. I am down 15 lbs since surgery. I have a bad problem of weighing everyday sometimes twice a day. I try not to but I cant help it. Its like I want the scale to go down a lb a day but I have to realize that fast weight lost is not good for my body. Slow and steady....I am learning. This is my final week of liquids and I Thank GOD!!! This has been a challenge for me...watching my husband and 2yr old eat spaghetti, pizza, chicken. I am getting thru. Didn't mean to ramble. We are doing it!!!

  20. Hey girl! I love the new avatar pics! You look great! I'm doing OK, not much restriction yet, but I get a third fill next week so hopefully I'll finally feel a difference. I'm down 47 pounds total with pre/post op, but it's been slow the last two months. Summer has been super busy with the three kids at home so I haven't been able to keep up with everything here either. HS Graduation for DS1 this weekend so I'm swamped right now. Hope your summer has been fun for you and I hope that new fill will help you out! -BG

  21. Hey Paulette...hope all is going good. We are two weeks out!!! I feel so much better than last week. Just want to make sure I dont over do it. How are you doing?

  22. hi bobbie...just checking in on ya. how are you doing? I am on my last week of liquids. OMG...i am so ready for something "real." Let me know how ya doing!

  23. I am doing pretty good myself. I am still just a tad sore and I have a hard time sleeping.

Not sure how Dr. Minkin does it but I am still on a full liquid diet :) I get to move to soft mushy foods this week. My next Dr. appt is not until the end of Aug. which Dr. Wagner told me he would probably do a fill then. I have noticed that liquids really are not a problem for me, but I dont drink enough because I am scared I will take to much in and strech the upper pouch out.

  24. Surgery date scheduled for 8/13!!!!!! OMG.....this is for real now. I had to call again this morning, then someone finally called me back. Had the date set after a two minute phone call. So you're what now, about 3 weeks post-op? how are you feeling? Are you still having hunger pains?

  25. This has been the longest week ever i am measuring my food and takinging in around 100 grams of protien and still no weight loss. I am so frustrated and going to the gym evryday but the scale is still the same. Hope next week is better. I can't wait to start working with my trainer.
