That was a big NSV for me too. I went on Vacation in August 5 months after my surgery and I went to a hotel and used a towel and it wrapped around me like a normal person. And I got calf high boots with no need to worry about getting extra wide calf and in fact they are too loose on top. Super happy for you I know how it feels to have things like this be big events for you! -

What made me happy today was that I went in for a nutrition appointment and came out with a tentative date for my surgery....December 18. So, there is light at the end of my tunnel. One endoscopy, two appts., two weeks of liver shrink and ta da...losers bench. I am so excited. I never thought about the towel thing. I have those big giant bath sheets, too, because regular towels don't get the job done. I will be looking for that as a NSV! -
I have yet to get a new belt for work. I just keep adding holes to my old one. Today for fun I buckled it to my pre surgery hole. Loved the results think I'll keep this belt as long as possible just for motivation.

Great NSV! Congrats! What made me happy today??? Well, my A/C was broken (not happy), but I didn't sweat at all (happy!). Before I would've been found fanning myself in a puddle of sweat shoveling ice cream into my mouth. -

Moving , , being able to walk without, a cane , People you live with and see you every day say oh you have your skinny pans on and many more it is like alost every week there is a nsv soe to post and some you just take laugh and run with it , I had a person at work say even your belly, stomache is getting flatter oh and being able just to bend over that is a big one or looking for soething that fell under somewhere and you don't have to reach for something just to get off the floor or ground. -

I weighed myself today which was a cheat for me lol bcuz I usually only weigh on fridays. I had made it to the 50 lbs down mark this morning. I was so ecstatic when I saw the numbers on the scale. I am 3 mths po & I could not be happier with my progress!!! Congratulations on your NSV today!!!! It truely is an awesome feeling seeing the weight come off & noticing the little things -
Congrats for all the NSV's, and the broken stalls!!

My Favorite NSV's are: Not having to ask for an extension on an airplane Walking down an aisle of an airplane without apologizing for almost knocking someone out. Getting off the coach on the first try Crossing my legs Getting dressed without sitting down Being able to ride any coaster at an amusement park Not having to worry if the ladder is going to hold me or not Tying my shoes without almost passing out. Taking the golf ball out of the hole without getting on my knees first Having the grand kids get tired before I do Leaving food on the plate without feeling guilty- 440 replies

This past week made 4 months since my vertical sleeve gastrectomy.... Sometimes I can't believe it's real. As of 2 days ago, I am 75 lbs down since my surgery weight. And I feel FANTASTIC! This is absolutely the best thing I've ever done for myself. PS: Are y'all still getting the error messages for blogs / gallery??. I'm just dying to update! LOL I have pics of what I've been eating as well as some NSV pics that I can't wait to share.

NSV! On my smartphone, I took a picture with my new Royals shirt on. My husband saw it and asked me to send it to him. Then, without me knowing, he sent it to Walgreens to be printed and then taped it to the bathroom mirror with the word "hubba, hubba, ooh-la-la!" :-)

Fitting into smaller sizes is just the best! Really let's you know you are shrinking, and of course you get to sport the new cute clothes. I think it's as good, if not better than seeing the scale move. Great NSV! -
i have posted several different types nsv's some silly and some downright amazing...funny how you miss once it gone anyhow, i am doing laundry today..and after washing ole man's clothes, there was some change in the bottom of the washer..being short, its a sight to see me trying to reach in and get it...i normally have had to get him to do it...my girth wouldnt allow me to reach in. so today, i saw some change and got on my tippy toes and reached down and got the change.. i was like oh my gosh....i did it again and noticed my stomach wasnt in the way anymore.. this nsv made my day today... and here is something my ole man did without me knowing and i thought i'd share.. yep, i snipped at him when i asked what was he doing...he said he was proud of me so here i am, doing step aerobics about 730 this sunday morning i am doing a susan powter dvd with a 4 inch step box in my den doing this has made me be able to: reach down into washer paint my toe nails if i wanted put my socks on drive my durango again (my stomach prevented the seat from going way up) walk wipe my hiney not be afraid to break chairs not be ashamed to be seen in public and ride on the back of my ole man's HD (and in the pack again) yeah, these nsv's matter to me....the band AND me, are making it happen

I know there's been a zillion threads on this, but what's one more right? I am seeing A LOT of people so hung up on the scale that they're missing the Non Scale Victories (yes that's what NSV means). So, please list your NSVs here! It doesn't matter how big or how small, we want to hear it! Mine are (in no particular order): The ability to sit in any chair I want without worrying if I'll fit or break it The ability to sit in booths at restaurants Flying without needing a seat belt extender No longer wearing plus sized clothes Trying on a size 'large' shirt and finding it's too big- and buying a size 'medium' Walking by mirrors while shopping and thinking "wow I look cute" instead of "ugh gross" Being very active in my kids' lives Going from needing a cane to get around the house to walking 2 miles a day unaided No longer having high blood pressure or high blood sugar. No longer having a sleep apnea (or even snoring anymore) Not being recognized by people who haven't seen me since getting my band (literally) Being able to wear cute, stylish clothes (I've become a shopping addict!) Sitting with my legs crossed Being told I look more like my almost 19yr old daughter's sister rather than her mother- 440 replies

You know why I want to go to the state fair today? Even though it looks like rain? It's because I want to log in some miles on my fitbit, and because I'm so dang antsy I can't sit still and it's driving my family crazy. Used to be, I went for the funnel cakes and the tornado taters. Oh how life has changed! Also because I can. Two years ago, I almost died due to a misdiagnosis, last year I was still getting enough strength back and I had awful knee pain. This year, I feel good about being able to walk around comfortably even though I did 7 miles on my bike this morning. So I'm doing it while I can and I will enjoy the heck out of it, because I have no idea what next year will bring. I just feel so happy that I had to share thanks for reading. Ways your new NSV this week? What made you happy?

Best advice I can give it just breath! And don't focus some hon the pounds that you loose as opposed to all the NSV's that you have and inches lost. -
NSV Danced the entire night away in 5 inch heels no back pain and then got up this morning to spin...in the past so not possible

I love to shop and can't resist a good sale. Well for years I have been buying clothes that I will fit in one day because it is such a good deal or I jus t loved them so much I had to buy them. Yes I know I have a shopping addiction. We can discuss my shopping issue at a later date lol. Anyway I am beaming from ear to ear because I just took 6 pairs of pants that I said I would fit in one day to the tailor to be fixed because they are to long and the day to wear them is now okay next saturday when I go back to tailor to get them. I am so excited I want to take a ad out int he new york times. My hard work with an amazing tool is finally paying off. Next week I drop off a 45 gallon contractor size garbage bag full of clothes to a friend since I missed the clothing exchange at NYU. I can't even lift the dam bag. Eating clean working out and this band has made a huge positive difference in my life. Yes I still have 95 pounds but i already lost 1/3 of the 150 i started out to lose. This forum is so helpful and is the only pace besides the drs office my weight is public knowledge. Not even my sister or best friend know how much I weigh!! Anywa back to my happy weight be gone new clothes dance....

I am not sure I am eating enough. For Breakfast I had an 11 oz Muscle Milk that I sipped all morning. Then at lunch I had half a greek yogurt. After school snack was another Protein shake, and at around 5pm I had an egg in chicken broth. Now I'm sucking on a pouch of apple sauce, but I'm starving even though I'm sure my banded pouch is probably full now at 7pm. Oh, and I had a bottle of Water thru the day. Is this enough? I am feeling very confused about how much/when to eat. By the end of the night I will probably do one more Protein Shake to get to my 60-80 goal. I'm not allowed stage 3 (canned fruit/veg, cottage cheese, etc.) til the end of this weekend. NSV today--I went out in search of new clothes, pants and undies specifically. At my heaviest I was in a 26, but today I picked out 22s. The sales lady said, "Oh no honey, you need something smaller" and handed me an 18-20. OMG IT FIT!! Holy cow!!! I can't wait til I reach my goal of buying clothes in a "real" store. Which store should I try first when it happens? I'm hoping that I can Celebrate my 40th birthday in January by buying something from a "real" store instead of Lane Bryant or Avenue.
