Another NSV today is I have a outline of my elbow! Y'all are the only ones I can tell that to and have someone be excited for me lol. No one else really understands all these little things I'm seeing haha...they just are happy for me if I said pigs fly lol! Today I was putting on my makeup and for some reason I looked at my arm and could see my elbow instead of just it being round.
  2. My friend came to visit me early on in my 5 month stay at the hospital....She brought with her a bag of 3 shirts that she thought I would like to wear in the near future....2 things went through my muffled brain....first...that is not even nice...At my lowest I will never be that small....second...Wow she thinks I will get that small that I will be able to wear these tiny clothes someday....Remember I just got out of a coma so I was not thinking to straight... My friend is small..She is a size 2...she brought me her clothes to wear in the future...I had been a tight size 6x up to this point.... Yesterday she asked me if I had ever tried on the clothes she brought to the hospital that day...I laughed and replied are you kidding it is going to take me a long time before I can wear those little shirts....She told me to go home and try them on.... This morning as a lark I took them out of the bag and had NO faith that they would even fit one arm let alone my size....Holy macaroni.. they fit...Even have a little room in them... Could this person really be me.....Have I gotten to the size that I can wear some of my friends clothes....I am gob smacked!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Holy smokes ... LMAO!!! Laughing so hard, coffee came out of my nose. And congratulations because these are all NSVs in my opinion. LOL..... thanks for the great laugh I needed that!

I love these posts!!! I can't wait to ride on a carnival ride with my kids. My NSV's so far are: Being able to wear an XL shirt that my son gave me 2 yrs ago (He kept asking why I hadn't worn it and thought I didn't like it. I didn't have the heart to admit that I couldn't wear it!), having a coworker tell me I needed new jeans because I'm almost mooning her in the old ones every time I bend over, having to sell brand new winter clothes that I bought last year because they are way too big and being able to complete the HipHop Abs workout DVD with my 8 year old daughter without passing out!

Not sure if this is really an NSV, but I'm calling it one anyway! Walking into the grocery store I saw a reflection in the glass door...a 'normal', healthy looking person. It honestly took me a second to realize it was ME I was seeing.
  6. So, I'm in reasonably nice food hall, which belongs to a major brand in the UK; picking up a couple of nice bits to munch on for the weekend. Noticing that my food bill has been slashed dramatically in the process and since this thang.. Anyway, I decide to exit through the clothing bit and spot a dress on sale. I think 'hmm, that's nice. Do I really 'do' lace though? Besides, is it be big enough?'. I ummed and ahhed over it for about 5 minutes - purely because I didn't want the embarrassment of getting it stuck over my shoulders cause it was too small. Anyway, after lots of mental debating, i decided to try it on. It fit. I didn't get it as it happened, because the lace aspect did my head in.. But as I left and trotted on down the high street, I couldn't help but walk into another lovely dress shop. Found a jacket I really liked. Lady approached me and said 'May I help you?'. I replied with 'Umm, yeah.. Do you have this jacket in a size 20-22 please?' She looked me up and down as if I'd come from Mars and replied 'Erm, you don't need that size my dear. You need a 16-18.' I have been neither of those sizes for nearly 15 years... I can see that THIS might be a problem in the future. I could be a size 14, but will still see a size 22-24 in the mirror.... I may have to work on that. In the meantime... size 16-18?! I'll bloody take it! Yipppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee!

    Greatest NSVs

I went to Universal Studios a couple of weeks back and actually rode some of the rides. While I was able to do that before, the fit was always rather...snug....and therefore made me less likely to want to try it as I was always afraid of getting stuck or having bruises around my hips. But this time? This time I was able to sit in the pre-molded seats with no trouble and was even slung around a bit because there was so much room! A total and complete NSV for me.

    Shaving woes!

Well maybe that was for the best, you never know. A friend of mine did it, and she waxed herself! I mean she did it on her own! Can you imagine how painful that must have been?? So anyway she does it....and it SO freaked her husband out that he pretty much couldn't get it up that night Not QUITE the effect she'd been going for Hey when you are post op, this can be one of your NSVs! I hope your husband appreciated your efforts.

Another NSV is doing all my running around and finishing, not like before I had to quit because I was tired. Today, after work I came home cut the grass, made dinner, dishes, and even made homemade Gluten Free Brownies for my son who has Celiac...!!!! And now I'm going to playing his favorite card game!!! Yeah, this would have taken me a week ack in the day!!
  15. NSV: got a massage today, the tech said, did you loose more weight? Happily I said yes!

That's an amazing NSV I know I hid from camera's for over a year and missed out on some great photo ops not anymore!!!
  20. I've had a difficult time posting a profile picture of myself on Facebook. I used to have pics of "things" but never me. Yesterday I did it! I received many positive reviews!! I didn't have the courage before. Since summer, I've been taking pictures of myself. I finally decided to do it. And you know what, it felt good!!
  21. Brag all you want! New found confidence and weightloss probably put you over the promotion glass ceiling! Hurrah! Great NSV!

    November buddies where are you?

I'm Crystal and today (10/16) is my 30th birthday. I'm having surgery on Nov 1 in Anchorage, AK. No pre-op diet, but I'm going to do protein shakes and lean meats/veggies starting on Friday for myself. I'm a nurse and mom of 2 little ones. My husband (and super duper best friend) is active duty. My current weight: 281 Goal: 130-135 Height: 5'4" NSV/goal: to hike one of the local mountains here in AK before we move next summer. Let's do this!!!
  23. I'm seven weeks post op and I have a looong way to go, but your pictures are an inspiration to me. i took some pictures this weekend and compared them to what I looked like only few weeks before my surgery (8/19/13). Can't believe the difference already and can't wait to see what I look like by new year's. Also flew this weekend and it was the first time in YEARS that I fit in the seat without making the armrest pop up or having to practically jam myself against the window side so that I wouldn't "ooze" over to the adjoining seat! Flying has been a huge source of anxiety for me-so grateful for my sleeve!

    Another NSV today

Tried on a leather coat that was given to me 2 months ago and it did not come close to me being able to button it up....Well...Today I slipped it on and buttoned it up...It is still snug but I still buttoned it up....Can't wait to wear it...It is a large.....unbelievable! A red coat that I worn 3 different times in my life I have been able to wear for the last month.....Each time I wore it was a decade a part....Today it has become to big for me...The other 2 times it became to small for me...Guess I will have to send it to the thrift store....Oh dear! I am very happy with this situation!
  25. So, my husband and I decided to invest in some 6 flags season passes that go through fright fest this year and next. I went to fright fest this past Saturday and was terrified and have an underlying fear of being turned away from rides (since it happened at my highest weight) but now that im over 120 lbs lighter than my highest I thought id give it a shot and guess what? I rode all the rides my heart desired without any issues or embarrassment. it was probably one of the single greatest moments of my life. To someone who has never had to worry about it, it would seem silly, but to me it was like winning the lottery. I loved it so much that a friend and I went back to six flags on sunday for a few hours so I could experience it all again. (we're actually going again the 26th!) This is definitely my greatest NSV--- why don't you share some of yours that keep you going when things get tough?
