I keeping up with exersizing since 1/08/10 I have been loosing and gaining the same 2 lbs. so since surg on 12/09/09 I have lost 18-20 lbs. I get a fill in a few days , so i hope that works on getting some of these lbs down.

I'll be honest. I am 2 years post-op and for the most part I don't do any special diet. I eat and drink whatever I want, it's is just limited by my restriction. I don't gain weight. I've just been maintaining. I'm comfortable at the weight I am. If I go down just 10lbs, people mention that my face looks to skinny and I don't want to look sick. I am very happy at this weight and finally comfortable in my own skin, "even though I could do without some of the excess" hahaha.....

OMG thats awesome! i looove your pic! you can TOTALLY see the weight loss!! Doesnt it feel great?! I'm at 35 lbs as well...just came back from my 2nd fill. My doc is very careful with these fills, but I did tell her I have NO restriction and I think I now have 4 cc's in. I know that the last 15 lbs I lost I did all on my own...and that actually feel kinda great!!! I was excited though to go back today to get another one. Now I dont go back till March 2nd !! I love hearing how all the clothes are just falling off of you!! Isnt it great??!!! I need to do some closet cleaning as well!! well, I am sooo happy to hear that things are going great! Lets keep each other focused!! My next goal is to hit 10 more lbs in the next 6 weeks (well really 15 and that will bring me to a total of 50 but I dont wanna get toooo excited!!! haha.have a great week! Im off to the mountains this weekend without my kiddies!! sSo excited!! oh btw, do you have facebook??? just wondering...im addicted! talk soon!!

Glad it went well, yea 2 cc's isn't very much, it may take a couple fills before you feel much restriction. But, maybe not, everyone's different. 2 days of liquid huh? Wow, my dr only has me do the rest of the night on liquids when I get a fill. Maybe I should try your way, ya probably loose more that way. :-)
I actually went in today for an unfill because of acid reflux. I really hope that I don't gain a bunch! They want me to go for a couple of weeks and give my pouch a rest and let the reflux heal. Can't say that I'm very excited about it but I guess the reflux can be really bad if ya let it go. Best to get it under control I guess.

Yeah...i will have to try that. Glad to hear that i'm not the only one w/ the burp problem
it's really not a biggy...just different. How much longer you have on liquids? I bet that's getting tuff hugh? But at the same time i bet you have lost more weight

Hey Jaxmom, glad to hear you are doing so well. I am 12 days post op and down 8 pounds. I gained about 5 after surgery so I lost that and then some.
My post op diet was clear liquids for 2 days, full liquids for another 5 days, Soft foods for 7 then, I am back onto my regular diet. All of these stages are low carb though. Right now I am on soft foods. I can have almost anything except raw vegtables and really tough meats like steaks and stuff. I am starting to feel like I have no resitriction also. My first two soft meals I got stuck but now I can eat without any problems. I am hungry all the time though. My Doc told me this would happen and that I would need to be really strict on myself. Once the swelling goes down you won't have any restriction until your first or second fill. My first fill will be Feb 9th.
9 pounds lost is great. Alot of people gain during the first few weeks after surgery. Really your doing great because the band is not yet doing it's job.

Hey there girl! Just wanted to see how you were doing? How did the holidays treat you. Have you made any traction on your weight loss?

Awesome!! Congrats. I just got banded 12/17 then rebanded 12/20. I have lost 23 lbs but have gained about 4 back in the last 2 weeks. I have absolutely no restrictrion right now. I get my first fill on Thursday so hopefully that will help.
Where are you from?

Like most insurance company requirements here, I needed to be a 'failure' at the 6 month diet (the three seminars I went to all said to lose 5-10 lbs. (but don't gain). I lost about 10 pounds during the 6 mo. diet and was approved within 48 hours. I lost another 9 pounds on my own (I didn't have a pre-op diet) in the 3 weeks between approval and my banding. Best wishes in your research and let me know if I can help with anything! -BG (I'm down 80 lbs. today...best thing I've ever done for me!)

abbypoo, I have not been on for so long! How are you doing? I am down 31 lbs, as of today and I have 8cc of my 14 cc band filled. I am finally in the "green zone"; lsoing weight, eating healthy and getting full and don't think if food all the time because I am satisfied! It took 4 fills before I got to this point and my last fill was about 6 weeks ago. I definitely have a lot more restriciton now and I eat at a much slower pace so as not to have any problems! Getting banded was the best thing I ever di for myself.

I was bnanded on Oct 27. I have lost 10 lb the 1st week. The following weeks I have gained 8 lb back. I don't feel any restriction and hungry all the time. My 1st fill is on Jan 4th. I am very frustrated and especially when most of the posts indicate that there is 10-30 lb weight lost in the 1st 4-6 weeks.

so how is your banding going? i am going in on Monday and i am nervous. i have not been able to loose ny weight for my surgery because i am really stressed out. any suggestions

Hiya!! I am going to join the gym on Saturday but I have a question and immediately thought of asking you! (hope you don't mind)...Do I need to tell the instructor that I have the lapband in and is there any exercises (weights etc) that I shouldn't/can't do because I have the band in??? Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Sunshine2 - would you do it again. I've read about all your trouble with the fills. Did this discourage you from continuing your weight loss.
Went for my first consult and spoke to several ladies in the waiting room. All tried to discourage me from getting the band. I'm so confused. I cannot lose the weight without some sort of help. You did loose so much that it almost seems worth the pain and suffering. Am I correct to feel this way or is it not worth it for you. cat lady
