Gas Pain & Weight Gain (3wks Post Op)

I am three weeks post-op. I have been doing fine with the exception of terrible gas pain in the afternoon. Every afternoon, I feel extremely terrible and all I do is take Gas X and pass gas all evening. I am not sure what is going on but it is not fun. I had lost a total of 25lbs since the pre-op diet. However, the past 2 weeks, the scale has stopped moving in the right direction. I have gained 3lbs since surgery. I am not sure why, because I eat small portions and my calorie intake per day is between 800 and 1000 a day. I have eliminated all simple carbs and very little complex carbs. I am not discouraged just a tad bit disappointed that my scale is not going down. I still belive that I made the right choice and when I see my doctor next Friday, I will express my concern. -
I was so excited to have lost 9lbs a week after surgery buuuut...that when mushies started and ruined it all for me. I weighed myself this morning and it looks like I have gained 4lbs...hoping this is only temporary and the scale takes a turn for the better with a quickness!

Anyone experience this?? I was on liquids extra long due to Chrons disease. Started on foods about a week ago and have gained four pounds!!! I am still losing inches but it is hard to see the scale go up. I am mostly eating protein (fish, turkey or chicken), then veggies if room. Low on carbs. Protein drinks make me want to vomit...although I am going to try some mirilax for some mild constipation. I am also adding in gym time this week. I'm sure it will reverse but dog gone I want to see the scale go down again!!! Joan (almost 6 wks out and lost 42 lbs. Although was 46 lbs lost!!)

So I am doing my 6 month supervised diet. I went on vacation and gained some weight. I think I am still going to be up by a couple pounds by the time my next weigh in is. Is this going to be detrimental to me? I have lost like 3-4 pounds every month so far (this will be my 4th weigh in).

Weight Gain After Sleeve (Seeking Advice Not Judgment)

Was sleeved in 2016, weight before pre-op diet was 453 pounds. Surgery weight was 429. Lowest weight was 330. My current weight is 399 pounds. Not gonna blame it on stress or anything. Was just very undisciplined. Is there any advice anyone can give me me or is there anyone on here whos been through this or is currently going through this?? I had gastric sleeve surgery April 2013 before that I had lap band surgery put in and takin out...I weighted 205 at surgery my lowest weight after my second surgery was 147 now I'm back up to 160...I need help getting back on track!!! -
I should know this, but can't remember. I had an open hernia repair last Wednesday. The day before surgery I weighed 201. Today I weighed 210. There is NO WAY I could have gained. I'm eating a lot less post surgery. Grant it, I'm not moving much, but this is depressing. This was my second open surgery since February 5 of this year. This is beginning to take a mental and physical toll on this old gal.

I'm 2 years post opt however, I've done really good. I gained 6 1/2 should I really be alarmed? I know that I've made some bad eating choices. I've invested in a treadmill. My weight lost has been between 98- 105, pounds. I have a Pannicelectomy back in November 2013. However, I still have some anbdominal swelling could this cause weight gain also? I refuse to go back to the old me...

juice after surgury so I was "bummed" to see almost three pound weight gain *but called doc and they said normal* post op swelling etc. and sure enuff steady clicking down since, weight in this morning 6 days post op 215 so headed right direction and thats what counts. Good Luck on your surgury and keep me posted. Where are you located ??? Im in Florida.

No weight loss in over a month! Good new is no weight gain but I am getting pretty aggravated. When I get back from vacation I will start low carb!!

Pre Car Accident, Kiddo, and Weight Gain 2003-2007

These are from 2003-2007 when I was in the Army and weighed 140 pounds. This is also before or right after my car accident (shattered my spine). I had my child on Sept, 11 2007 and have gained almost 100 pounds since my Army days. I'm ready to say goodbye to the weight and hello to a sexy new me! -

I'm very upset right now. I don't know how it happened but I've gained nearly 7 lbs in last week. As of today I am 16 days post op, I lost 15 lbs at my post op doctors visit a week ago and now I've gained. I'm on the same diet as before, I just switched up my protein drinks a bit. I'm worried because I'm drinking a ton but I don't feel like I'm going to the bathroom as often as I should. I think I may just be retaining water or something. I hope that's it. I even started going to the gym this week, but i still gained. I just feel its too early to be having these issues, I feel like I did all this for nothing. I hope the doctor will have an answer for me when I see him today.

I knew that my forthcoming period might make me gain a pound or so, so I didn't get on the scale for two days. Stuck to plan, however, and kept walking. I'm still pre menstrual but got on this morning: up SIX pounds! This is so discouraging, and it makes me want to stay home in bed. This can't be normal!!!

So im post op sleeve gastrectomy 1yr and want another baby but am terifed of gaining any weight apart from the 10kgs baby how much should I gain if any ?And will it just fall off post birth as the same before pre pregnancy?

For those of you who have AETNA, be careful about your weight gain. I have AETNA open access and I called the insurance company to verify because I was told previously that it was ok as long as there is no net gain at the end of my 3 months. WRONG! There cannot be any weight gain during your 3 month or 6 month weigh-ins with your PCP or surgeons office. You will be denied. Make sure you have lost weight each time you go in to weigh-in. With that being said make sure you know what your policy entails.
