I'm really pleased for you. It's great when the numbers show success, as well as the NSVs. Good luck to you.

Weighing less than my husband is definitely high up on my goal list! Congrats to you! What a great NSV!

Ok...today I realized that I have lost the same amount of weight as my 10 year old son weighs. Now, I can't even pick him up because he is heavy. So to know that I have lost in weight what a 10 year old boy weighs is mind boggling. By the time that I lose all my weight...I will have lost a whole person. Can't seem to grasp my mind around it. Yikes! cindy

Congratulations on your wonderful NSV! I think those are better than the pounds coming off. The last time I flew I had to ask for an extender - it was so embarassing. I don't know if I'll ever get on a plane again (not a huge fan of flying). 6 inches! Whoohoo - you go girl!
-
Dang it. I've been wanting to ask but embarrassed, lol. What is an NSV?

I was also sleeved on the 27th. Down 20lbs since surgery 43lbs since starting the 2 week preop diet. I feel good. If I sit for too long my incisions are sore. I am going to start seeing a therapist that specifically deals with WLS because I have a lot of struggle with head hunger and emotional eating. Hope she has some ideas on how to curb that! My mom noticed I had a waist and that was a pretty awesome feeling and NSV for me!! Good luck to everyone! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No, not from the band! I really am going on my first vacation in several years - I am flying out tomorrow am. Seeing friends that haven't seen me in years - and we are going to have a rockin' good time!! Of course, the chances are I will also see my ex :frown: and although the ex and the new missus might be initially an awkward situation, we are all adults, and I am SO past it. I will however not be accessing any computers, so I will miss all the conversations, laughs, NSV's and pity parties of the VVs. So, here's the deal, you guys bravely face the next 11 days without me...I know, I know, but you CAN do it! And then, when I get back, I will read each and every post and get caught up on all the news. you won't forget me, will you??? I will let you all know my experiences with flying with the band, vacationing without good restriction, encounters of the ex-kind, and seeing friends who don't know about the band. Take care, keep up the Protein intake, watch for those insidious 'just one taste' devils, and repeat after me "I can do this; I will do this" Tippy tappy away....

NSV - Just got engaged and my ring is too loose...
Diamondgirl81 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got engaged this weekend, one day before my birthday!!! However, my size 7 ring doesn't fit. We're looking into sizing options, but this is one of those things I NEVER imagined going through. I think for now, I'll just use a ring guard until I'm at goal, then we'll resize it permanently. Though I haven't lost a pound this week, this has been one of the best non-scale victories I've had. Best to all on this journey!! Lauren -
Almost too embarrassing to admit, but...

That is a wonderful NSV! That is a landmark! To me it ranks right up there with not having to be weighed at the feed store, not having to use a seat belt extender, and not having the slats fall out from underneath the bed when you lay down on the mattress. BTW - I take two measurements - I measure my "belly" - which is what I call the largest part of my stomach / apron. I also measure my "hips" - which is where the widest part of my butt is - and it is (now) just below where the apron ends. I even lifted up the d**n apron to get this measurement early on. I take that measurement to let myself know what my hips would be if I get the apron removed. (I can dream, right?) -
I just done the math and if I live another 50 years I'll save $240,000 on food and beverage since having the LapBand. That's enough to put all my kids through college and still buy a new Cadillac!!!! I had a soda habit that would make fat bastard jealous. I usually ate out twice a day. Wow, that really adds up! Hot Stock Alert: If you own any shares of Pepsi-Cola you better dump it fast!!!

I just say Thanks! We all work hard to be able to hear that. We need to embrace it whole heartedly because each and everyone of us deserve to hear those wonderful accomplishments. These are one of the best NSV's you will ever have. Each time you say Thanks! you radiate confidence and that.........IS SEXY! So stand up be proud and accept whatever compliment they want to throw your way. Oh and the best is when they don't know you've had the surgery so they aren't looking to see if you've change. Live it up!

Froggi, that is fantastic. Way to go. I am in a tight 16. I can zip them so I figure why not wear them. Great NSV

I have been in the friggin Water exercising the dang Cookies off. I did two water aerobics classes today. You know how proud of myself I am. I could have never done that before but I love water aerobics a lot. I never thought that I would like to exercise as much as I do now. I know that the exercise is going to be the key to getting the rest off. I am seeing the benefits because the sizes are dropping. I have gone from a size 32/34 to a size 20 and tonight I put on a 10 year old Garth Brooks T-Shirt my brother brought me when he saw him in concert...it was a XL...woo-hoo! I want all of you to take a look at some your NSV's for a moment. Even though the scale might not be moving as quickly you would like, think about some things that have changed for you. How are you clothes fitting? Can you do things that you couldn't do in the past? How do you feel? I am sure that you have some wonderful things to ponder on. So forget the scale and think about the great accomplishments that you have made. I know that I am proud of you all! You are all great inspirations to me....you'll never know how much. Ok...enough of the mushy gushy stuff...lol! Think positive thoughts! Cindy

:thumbup:Hey Everyone! I know it's a little early to be tooting my own horn, but I just had to share my excitment! Yesterday, my boyfriend told me,"You know, your skin is already clearing up!" and he is right!!!! I have been fighting acne due to my PCOS for YEARS, and now all of a sudden the condition has improved in the most amazing way! My skin is soft and smoothe without being too dry OR oily! I don't know if it is the pre-op diet that did it, or the surgery begining it's miracle working already, but I am psyched!

Ok I had surgery 4/23 and have lost 40 pounds and it's just now sinking in that I am getting closer to onederland.. But the best thing ever was before surgery I couldn't even reach my feet to tie my shoes and last night I watched tv for hours sitting indian style with my legs folded and comfortable! Plus I tied my shoes this morning haha

Hey, I rented a carpet cleaning machine today. Got it at 10am, got home started cleaning, of course vaccuuming three rooms and one hallway. I was done at 1:30. That was three hours time. Now, for the NSV. It used to take me ALL DAY TO DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have to stop every few minutes and sit down and rest. Wow, am I impressed with this weight loss thing!!! I just can't believe that I am done and everything is cleaned up and ready to go back to the store......:rolleyes2::thumbup::tt2::thumbup::eek::thumbup::seeya:

Congrats everyone! Would someone tell me what NSV is??

What a lovely bunch of ladies. Your mom must be very proud. I feel sorry for your brother though. He gets left out every Mother's Day! *grins* Grats on your NSV. I knew you used to be the largest of the sisters and you once said you were afraid that they would all treat you differently once you were no longer the biggest. So... now that you're one of the little sisters, how is it?
-
Heather - I can understand where you are coming from. No one has to know how much you've lost unless you tell them. Just say a lot and let it be. Don't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable. You've worked your ass off to get where you are. If you don't want to tell them - don't. It is after all just a number. I'm sure your NSV's and new found life are worth more.

Truly fantastic NSV! Don't need to top it, just replay it in your head!

Awesome NSV!!! :cheer2:

So I'm currently still pre op w/ surgery tentitively in late June but I've noticed a few NSVs that I'm quite proud of! First of all I got on my scale at home and I was actually able to weigh myself before it would always say "error" or "ol" for over load... I know encouraging words right? Not! Lol my second NSV is that before when I got into my car my stomach touched /rubbed against the steering wheel I'm pretty short and have to sit kinda close to reach the brake haha. But now (I have not moved my seat) there's about 3 inched between me and the wheel! Again I'm still preop but I'm loving these results already and actually seeing a different is amazing! So far I've lost 40 lbs and hoping to lose 20 more before surgery!!! What are some of your NSV 's? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
