  1. Glad to hear you are doing well! I am doing way better than expected on this 10 day liquid diet. (but I figured I'd be passed out by noon on the first day of starvation LOL! so anything is better than that right?!) I can only have 2 shakes a day, broth, sugar free drinks, a fudgesicle and a yogurt, and coffee with splenda. Thats it. Uuuugh...maybe I'll be able to drop a few pounds before surgery...get a jump on the process. How much have you lost on the preop? I could NOT imagine doing this through the holidays....wow! I think I gained 10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years! But this was actually the first Christmas that I ate and was not on a strick diet....i felt like a prisoner and the last meal, so i ATE! haha! That is wonderful that they are gonna fix your hernia while they are in there...I would hate to know going into one surgery that you were gonna have to have another one. Thats wonderful.

  2. I completely Know how you feel. I'm about 11 months out and had little to no restriction and it makes me unmotivated, because the weight doesn't come off despite exercise. The one time I was restricted, I could not eat more than 1 bit and even that came back up, so I had 1 cc unfilled. Now I've gain 15 pound, because I can eat normally. I'm not giving up either, but it's much harder than I thought it would be. I just wish there was a balance and I could enjoy eating a couple (2!) bites of food. Good luck and thanks for being honest about your struggle.

  3. I just looked at your pics today. I'm always commenting about your avatar. I always read your answers because you give such great advice. I was banded in August and have lost 30 lbs. but have been stuck for about the last month at the same weight. It's killing me I'm at 203 and every time I step on the scale I'm ready to throw it out the window. I've stepped up the work outs trying to get under 200 and it's just not happening. I read some of your post on running. I have bad knees (several knee surguries on both) and I'm trying to go slowly. I feel like an idiot on the treadmill at the gym jogging so slowly. I'm sure everyone is like get up and run but I keep telling myself what i read on one of your post...start slow and move up slowly and you avoided injury. Any other advice? I've been jogging/walking 2 miles M, W, F and doing 20 min on the eliptical bike and the machines on T, Th, S.

  5. I'm still considering surgery...I'm terrifiied I will pay all of that money (I'm self pay) and won't lose the weight. what about you?

  8. Hi there! How are you holding up with the pre-op diet? I think it gets harder every day instead of easier!!! Plus, it doesn't help I'm not having that tremendous weight loss with it everyone else seems to be having.

  9. Good for you as well! I go for my first fill on the 30th of December! Hope i can make it through the holidays without gaining any. I really have no cravings. I am however finding it very difficult to get all my protein in during the day. I know this is a learing process so i should be more patient. From what i have heard, it seems that the first fill will not provide a lot of restriction for very long. It seems that maybe the 3 or so fill is when we will really see the weight come off. Who knows only time will tell. Merry Christmas and a VERY Happy New Year to you and your new body!!!!!

  10. How you doing these days?? Looks like your doing good!! How's the weight loss coming mine has really slowed way down!! I'm having an xray on Wednesday to make sure my band hasn't prolapsed because sometimes I can eat too much and sometimes I can eat nothing!! It's crazy!!   12. 91 lbs?!!! You Rock!!! You should be very proud of yourself! How has your life changed since losing this weight? I completely understand the idea of using food as a crutch. Since I was a child it has been the one constant in my life...it was always there for me in good times and bad. I'm so glad you can take the time out for yourself now. You work so hard and you deserve this! (I hope you realize how pretty you are...but are you ready for 2010 when you'll be the hottest girl in the room!!!) You are doing a great job and are very inspirational to me!

  13. Hello luv, I'm doing well it was really rough there for a minute but I feel a lot better I've lost 18lbs in 2 weeks that could I guess be water weight or because I'm not really eating. I've been walking 2 miles a day or trying to at least so everything is okay thank you for asking. How are you doing?

  14. 158 was my total weight lost.. but I fluctuate between 165 lost and 155.

  15. wow u lost the same as me....I was banded in July and my progress is actually slow bc ill lose and gain...be patient your doing just fine!

  16. if you're eating slowly and chewing well and still pbing regularly, you're probably still too tight. If you have a little bit of fill out, things will settle and you will probably be able to handle more gain later. Its hard to keep the weight loss coming, after about 70lb in the first year, it took me an entire 18 months to lose the other 30. It was really slow.

     

    Once you're eating properly and not eating much, the only thing you can really manipulate is how much you BURN. You cant just eat less and less forever, so you have to start burning more, if you're not already. for me, it took really hardcore exercise like running and circuit training, none of this half an hour on the elliptical or water aerobics stuff, lol. I had to work out till I almost made myself sick, nowadays that's an easy workout for me.

  17. HEY GURLY!!!!!! Yea im ok but i feel like im at a stand still. I go today to weigh in but i don't think i've lost any weight so i'll be very depressed if that happens. But i guess i'll see in 1 hour. I'll let u know what happens tomorow.

  18. yeah i do some weights, i would say light weights not heavy LOL . I am going to try to change up my work outs. when i see the dietician on the 11th i will have her log on to livestrong.com thats where i track all my calories and exercise ,so she can see exactly what i am doing LOL

  19. OH NO!!! girl you gotta take it slow!! I know exactly how you feel though. You see that weight coming off and you want it off faster! been there done that... I have done the same thing getting overfilled but i didnt have to get a total unfil. I was slowly sipping on water to keep from being severly dehydrated. This band is a lovely tool but it sure can make you miserable at times. Just make sure you get some protein shakes in. I am struggling too right now. I want to get another fill so bad but I know i will be too full and wont be able to eat. I can barely eat now but I keep eating the wrong things (all JUNK food). I finally lost a pound so that has at least motivated me to do a little better. I'm addicted to the scale! I'm determined to get these 8 lbs off by the 18th! I am sure you wont gain that much back because you are on a mission! workin out twice a day?!?! girl send me some of that motivation!

Im so glad all went well with Dr.K .. you are sooo lucky to not be feeling hungry! wish i could say the same. i am going to see him on the 11th of this month and the dietician the same day,i guess i will be there all afternoon lol , if you feel restriction then i would wait on the fill. no need to get to tight,beacuse believe me its not fun to be to tight it really sucks!!!! Im really happy for you, it seems like its really working for you!!!!! i have been goin to the gym more often, almost everyday,im hpoing that it will kick the weight loss in, not sure what else to do at this point LOL so how much did you lose so far total?

  22. Hey there hun :0) How are things going? I'm doing well and i'll post a blog to let you know what's going on thus far. As far as mobility I am becoming more active every day. I try to get out and about more than I use to. In 07 i had a surgery to my left leg which left me unable to walk for about 5mos and I actually had to be rehabilitated to learn to walk again. From that point till today I am doing so much better and I went from a wheelchair, to walker, to independently walking on my own. I don't currently work so If i'm not out shopping I'm usually at home. I resigned from my job in 08 due to my health and being in and out of the hospital. I thank God that I have not been sick in some time now and I owe all of this weight loss to Him.

     

    I'm glad that you are doing so well and you are up and about. It takes strength and determination from ourselves first in order to make it through this. I know that you can do it.

  23. I think it is normal for us to all hit a stall momment! I have hit mine today....and I am frustrated too! However, I haven't gone to the gym since Thanksgiving.....so i guess i am partly to blame....on the other hand....i havent' gained any either. sooooooo.....still frustrated. :) I think i need a second fill and have an appointment on the 14th to get one. we will see. take care and talk to you soon.   24. I'm already on 2 shakes a day and one meal. The weight is finally coming off again! Glad you had a good check up. Don't get sick. Take a shower.
