Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

Looking forward to seeing you.... and to the asparagus~! Glad you found some! I don't remember if he decided on another veggie or not. He did get some potatoes and FF sour cream. I'm not having a very good day! Just annoying and frustrating things going on. And Earl fretting over the motor home maintenance. We have to go to Redlands because the chassis is a WorkHorse, and the recall on the braes has to be done by an authorized WorkHorse maintenance facility. That work is covered under warranty, but then they recommended a brake job, and then we need a couple of new tires.... rig is 7+ years old.... so now we're up to about $4K!!! On a FREE recall repair!! So.... he's fretting about having to move money from an untaxed account because then we'll have to pay significant taxes on it next year. He's dealing with it better today, but was very grumpy last night. And then he was mad at me this morning because I was 20 minutes late for water aerobics. WHY does that make him mad??? I don't get it! He says because he likes us to do water aerobics TOGETHER! HUH??? I'm at one end of the pool and he's at the exact opposite end. The only time we send together is a very few minutes n the hot tub and he usually gets out and goes to the showers as soon as I get in. I had a good reason for being late.... It's a TMI issue... but, having bowel problems is all I care to say about that right now! Glad you are doing better. Hopefully, when the swelling goes down you'll be able to eat again!! Hugs to you, Chick!!

I know that sounds totally bazzaar but when you are so used to going to not going at all i am misrable. Can someone help me???? Gross, But I need to POOP

Going to get a little TMI here, but if you haven't gone in a while the part closest to your exit spot may have dried up a little a isn't going anywhere till you use a suppository or fleet enema. I went almost a week without going, had to use the enema and then pooped for two days. I now use Miralax every few days.

    I drew the line...

I am using the bariatric advantage, our office sells different flavors and at our pre-op nutrition seminar, we got to sample them to see which flavors we liked. I never had any problems with the nausea. As for the laxative effect....I do not see this in me at all. I have had to Miralax to my regime twice a week to keep things moving nice and softly (TMI). I have been looking at the costco brand (Kirkland) and they appear to be very similar in the vitamin % so I may switch them to as they are a little lower in cost.

    I'm here to help...

Evening All...OMG...Gem Show was not overwhelming but just saw a bit of it and might have to go back. Eva did another good job of giving us a bit of info and a view of the show. This girl puts a lot of WORK into her friends. We trucked around today. Actually picked her up on the side of the road cuz DH and I got a little carried away with the hippie/retro shops downtown. Patient girl, that Eva is. So...she texted us and she was already out of school and we were still just tripping around the incense and tattoo shops. She decided to walk and we literally picked her up on the gravel at the side of the road. Fun times. Could not decide what I wanted to buy. Stopped at the first booth and saw a rock I LOVED. My thought was "We have so many more to see, might see something better". Well, came back and it was gone. They had something semi-nice but not the one I wanted. DH is such a great guy....offering to buy just cuz I said I liked it. I am the type that it just has to hit me. I wanted a certain color. But, we have many more years to collect our rocks and I am quite patient when it comes to things like that. Just another wonderful day in Tucson. Just cannot believe the weather here. So looking forward to our trip out west and seeing Janet and Phyll ....so sweet, Phyll, that your DH is going to cook. Hey, Jodi...you busy girl...I know this upcoming celebration is on your mind and keeping you busy. You are coming to Chicago, right? Julie...take care. Please, please, please, seek out someone that can help you through this. I am sure you do not want to continue with the pain and the interruption to your life. I do not know what it is like to have continuous pain and I am so sorry that it has dropped into your life. You need to be proactive in getting to the bottom of it. I do not know if I could live a week without knowing what was going on. This all has to be wearing on your DH and DD and upsetting your family life. Take time for you and find what it takes to get to the bottom of what is going on. Hugs. Went to Eva's hair salon today. What a nice job. I'm now officially cute again. (BS, but, I girl did a great job on the color and actually saved me money and said I did not need highlights. Nice, fun girl to talk to. OK...signing off. Dog needs attention. Keeps knocking my boob with is nose. Big nose...knows how to get attention....Off to teach DH how to do as dog just did. TMI!!!
  7. My surgery is next week! I am just wondering how long I should wait after surgery to start exercising and also how long should I wait to be intimate with my man? lol sorry for TMI, but I was just wondering....
  8. Two weeks prior to my Jan 19th surgery date, I begin a 2 week Protein shake and clear liquid diet. My surgery went well and I spent the night in the hospital. I didn't have a pleasant stay so I was happy to be released. The procedure was more painful that I expected and the medicine caused nausea and nightmares...not a good combination. The first week post op was quite painful and the worst part was releasing phlegm every morning (sorry if that was TMI but it was my experience). I could not really follow the Stage 1 and 2 diets because everything including Water caused more nausea. I took two weeks from work and I needed all of that time to prepare myself both physically and mentally to return to work. Beside advice I can give is take it slow and have a good buddy to help you for the first few days.

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

Candice, thanks for you advice. I'm 39 and really don't think I'm ready to go through all this crap but then again, will I ever be? Oh well. If the flashes and sweats are worse than this pain I could lose my mind. I can hardly hold Jaimi anymore because of her elbows. As for the TMI issue, you didn't gross me out, but I also know that Jeff will not even consider it. He's funny that way Love him, but some things that gross him out are so weird. I keep telling him that THAT is when it would be the best but he won't hear of it. Oh well. There's more than one way to skin a cat...LOL I'm with you though, I hope no one else reads this thread I had a good enough dinner. Stuck on it though. I guess it's time to go back to liquids for a few days. Let everything settle again. I did break and lunch liquids hoping that would be enough but no go. I'd better run for now. I need to make the tortilla roll ups for tomorrow's game. I'm glad they will be there and not here because I have a feeling I could eat a whole plate. Later ladies. Have a great evening.

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

Hi gals, glad the /??$$?&&$//* site is back up, what was with that? Anyways, worked this a.m. at the clinic for one of the girls, Sat. is easy!!! Yeah and a cool $75 for my MAD MONEY Account. (aka California account) O.k. Stephanie, I`ve forgotten how old you are? dah... but what happened with ME was that the last 5-6 years of periods were really whacked out.. I`d get a period that would last for 2 weeks!! then I`d go a month, have a regular one, then 2-3 months NO periods, then WHAMM another 2 week horror... luckily for me I was on Mood stabalizers anyways for my Bi-polar so maybe that helped me eleviate the wild mood swings... but bad cramps, oh yeah. and very heavy CLOTS... so bad that I`d wear 2 super tampons + pad, and sometimes overflow that!!! I hated it at night... used to put a plastic sheet under my mattress cover on my bed... just in case. I hated surprises in the a,m. Now, Naproxen is good, as well as ibuprofen... but yup with band issues - maybe there is a better Rx choice like Karla said. Also, sorry a bit gross. ... but SEX always relaxed my uterus, so if you can swing it... sex DURING your period is awesome. ANtispasmodic, and also your body produces ENDORPHINS which make you feel better emotionally... Sorry about the TMI... my daughter still kids me about the ````Purple towel`` that I kept for just such an occasion... God, I hope nobody else reads this thread But alas, it will all pass.... it is great to be done with it all.... but now, we contend with Hot flashes and dry hoo-hoo`s.... we are never happy.

    My 2 week vent

Anna - i am three weeks and two days out - mushies aren't any better trust me. I drink chicken broth all the time. I think it helps with some kind of craving. Don't ask me what it is but i feel a boost of energy and its warm and goes down so easy i swear to you i could drink it all day. The only thing the mushies have done for me is make me constipated. So talk about no weight loss in the last few days, well your lookin at it. I almost feel better just drinking warm fluids then eating when i am backed up (TMI sorry). Just do what you can - i am in the same boat - but love my chicken broth. Try it it might help and its 3 grams of protein a cup so its some protein. good luck carmy
  12. Hi All, I almost feel like a cry baby writing this. Today makes it exactly 2 weeks since my sleeve surgery. I have been reading enough on this board to kinda know the emotions to expect. I weighed today and have not lost a pound since Wednesday. I am okay with that. I did a self-check and realize that I am not getting enough Protein in everyday (fluids probably around 40-45 ounces). I stocked up on some (what used to be delicious) whey protein that is 52 grams of protein per 8 ounces. Now I can’t stand the stuff. I mean every day I try to get at least half of it down, but it just makes me want to vomit (TMI?). I plan on buying an ice cream maker (recommended by Eggface) to see if that helps. I have been working out on Your Shape Fitness (Xbox Kinetics) for about 15 minutes a day and doing so very lite weight lifting (mainly for my arms while watching TV). 15 minutes is all I have in me with no food. I was thinking about stretching my full liquid stage out for 2 more weeks, but I don’t think I can do it without some good protein options. Maybe I should end the full liquids on schedule and stretch out mushies? I don’t know anymore. I am very happy for the weight I lost so far. I started this journey at 279 and I am now 255. So its progress. I am just in need of encouraging words. These emotions are taking a toll and I am trying to stay strong. I keep telling myself “Anna you’re new to this.” “Anna you can and will do this” but its getting harder. Thanks for letting me vent. Tears and all, I have no other choice.

    Worried - No Bowel Movement

Hey everybody.... I got poop! LOL. Sorry for TMI. LOL
  14. JerseyGirl80

    Initial excitement is fleeting..

I know I know! I'm havin' a mental breakdown lol. I am feeling better today though, I'm blaming all the ice and snow for making me lose it lately! And Yes, this is not a diet and I'm doing good with my eating, but I know my weight loss would be so much better and I would feel better about myself if I just moved my big self around a little more. Side note and maybe TMI, but this made me really happy this morning and made all the grief worth it, my boobs are officially further out from my body than my belly! That hasn't been so in a long time lol! I noticed this this morning when I put on a smaller sized t-shirt.. I'm excited about that! I'm starting to look like a woman again and not a butterball!!! YAY!
  15. *ouch* *ouch *ouch...when will the gas pains go away (I know tmi)... 5 days post op.

  16. Hey folks, Sorry if this is TMI, but I've caught Norovirus and have spent the last 18 hours projectile vomiting I've been so sick there is NOTHING left, but still my body is trying! I'm really worried on two scores, but dont know if I am over reacting. Firstly how much pressure can my new stomac take? I dont want to losen or tear something! And secondly as I can normally drink less now, how long do I leave it before worrying about dehydration? Thanks for listening, just in a bit of a panic! Cx

    Anyone using Mirena IUD?

I'm not sure if you're stateside again or not, but I recommend a checkup/labs to see if you have PCOS and maybe even a lap to check for endometriosis. Being diagnosed for sure won't help, but it will at least point you in the right direction for treatment options. From age 12-19 I had 3 on, 1 off with my cycles and it was pure hell. It got a lot better after pregnancy and then wasn't as bad until about 2 years later. Then things got steadily worse. It's way TMI, but we're talking cycles were I could use super plus Tampax and overnight pads at the same time and STILL have overflow after two hours. So yeah, if you're having cycle hell like you're talking about, Mirena really could be a great option - I'm "normal" now, not experiencing horrible pain and long, heavy periods each month any more. Best of luck to you whatever you decide. If you do have PCOS, you know that's a real culprit when it comes to weight loss, don't you? You've been slow (and steady) the whole time, but hormonal imbalance will impede your loss. ~Cheri
  18. HB, You're right about the dental care, but you have to be careful about the dentist too! Since they were old enough, my children always went for their 6 month checkup and cleaning. We had the same dentist for 6 years. My oldest son was devastated when they discovered 3 cavities at the age of 16. I was a bit puzzled, since they just 'appeared' and were sizeable enough they should've shown up on his x-rays. The dentist tried to say it was because my son drank 'juice'. Uh no...this was my track athlete who never drank anything but water. Then he said it was lack of fluoride. Uh...so when you said you were doing a fluoride treatment each time,...what were you doing? Then I come up on my 6 month cleaning and the hygienest tells me that I have to go to a special dentist to have my teeth scaled because they're so bad. WHAT?? I told her that just can't be possible since I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. She tells me that for the last *SIX* years my teeth have not been completely cleaned because they didn't have enough time to finish the job...but nobody bothered to tell me this so I could schedule in the extra cleanings I needed. Then the dentist comes in and tells me I have 6 new cavities. That's when we had the discussion about why my son suddenly popped up with new cavities and now I am too and nothing the previous 6 month checkup. I left and, on the recommendation of one of my employees, made an appointment with her dentist. I ended up with 6 hours worth of teeth cleaning to get me back to normal. My children had 3 hours worth of cleaning each even though their teeth had supposedly just been cleaned the month before. Oldest son did not have 3 cavities...he had 7...and the new dentist said they were big enough to see on the xrays taken the *year* before (we had our records transferred). I didn't have 6 cavities...I had 11. I'm pleased to say that we've been at the new dentist for 10 years now and not one of us has had a cavity since. It's a bit scary that if that particular hygenist hadn't said anything, I could be missing all of my teeth now. As it is, they kept refilling one molar so it's just a shell of a tooth and at some point it's going to crack and they'll have to pull it. Ok...TMI, but I know those not interested will just skip over anyway. .

    Anyone using Mirena IUD?

I have no idea about costs i live in Scotland so got it on the NHS. It does have hormones in it, but at a very very small amount compared to the pill so side effects are lessened. They are also apparantly more effective and safer than the old copper coils, and have the added advantage of lessening periods rather than making them heavier. The strings hang out of your cervic, they dont come down into the vagina, as i say you can feel them but i have to squat and put your fingers up reeally far (sorry, TMI) and they are so small and tiny that they are difficult to feel. My boyfriend cant feel them. Apart from the fact i dont have a period anymore (and checking the strings every few months) i would have no awareness of having the coil in.

    Anyone using Mirena IUD?

I love love love love my mirena. I recieved it 11'08 after having my second child. I just had surgery 12/14/2010. Immediately after my surgery I experienced (sorry if TMI) one of my heaviest cycles, but getting much better now. I have to have my mirena taken out in 2013, I will definately be returning to the Mirena family.

Is anyone having problems with bowel movement?

WARNING - TMI I had loose bowels while my body ridded itself of the IV fluids, then one day it stopped, and days passed. After about 3 days, I decided to start using benefiber 3 to 4 times a day. Finally I started moving, but my hemmorrhoids, which I had not had problems with since my last pregnancy, were awful. It was painful, slow and bloody. Therefore, I now take benefiber on a regular basis. once a day the first day no movement, twice a day if two days since movement, and three times a day if three or more days. I now usually only go about every 3 days, but it is a normal consistency and no pain. I have read some scary stories about BM's so be sure to get your Water in, and something to make it soft or fiber. Best of luck.

    No one light a match!

So today is the end of day two post op. Still surviving. Having the classic problems/symptoms. Pain in my left shoulder and both sides of my neck I assume is gas pain. Feels sharp like a knife but is tolerable. Walking does not seem to help this pain. There is pressure under my sternum that feels like literally someone is holding tight all the way to my back. My stomach is full of gas both ways and is rather uncomfortable to burp. Walking does seem to help this pain and Gas X does not seem to help. I am not hungry I am guessing due to the swelling and can make myself take a few bites of something every once and awhile through the day. Getting protein no sorry to say it there is no way for me to get enough right now. Hopefully in a few days when I can tolerate more I will be able to get enough in. I am being a little bad in having a half cup of coffee but its sooooo goood. I tolerated some egg drop soup and some potato soup so far. I did brave the shower gods though it wore me out. I am scared to death of getting nauseated and I did have a bout with it for a short time last night so I called my doctor to ask for something to have over the weekend but I think they were in clinic all day so hopefully I will hear back in am. I feel really tired and I don't see how anyone would be going back to work in a week thankfully my work doesn't allow light duty so I have no choice but to stay home. Coughing is the worst and so is getting up from my low couch. But again it is all tolerable with the pain meds. So I am surviving hopefully I continue to feel better and do not get too discouraged. Really trying to not get dehydrated but I just can't seem to get enough of anything in. I will keep trying though. But I swear a small country could use me as a natural gas resource at the moment. lol. Sorry for the TMI. xoxoxo Rach P.S. Here is a awful photo of me and my diego recovering.
  23. my story has disappered on my twice so I'll write more late. Ok, trying this a third time. Had surgery on Jan 25. Went into the hospital a little early and was told the surgeon was running ahead of schedule. Cool! So stripped down, in to the johnny, iv in, fluids started swallowed the adavan (mmm relaxed). Got tons of meds for anti nasea and a shot in the belly for the blood clots. My little leg balloons were put on and not too much later, after a quick chat with the Anathesiologist (she says I got an A+) I was on my way. I only remember getting into the OR and thinking it was very busy! Lots of people milling around. Then that's it. Don't remember anything after that. My recovery I don't remember much about either. I do remember having to go to the bathroom really bad. They were not really hurrying so I had to remind them I had to go. They didn't want me trying to get up so they had to slip a bed pan under. Well by that time I really had to go! I think I overflowed it. Nurses had to clean up a mess. Oops. LOL. Sorry TMI... Then a bit later I remember one of the nurses walking me to the bathroom. I went again a lot. That's what they get for pumping me full of liquids. My husband and daughter visited me in the recovery room, but I don't remember. I do remember them visiting once I was settled into my room for the night. Pain was not bad. I did use that button though. When I got home, I was using the Roxicet and either that or something they gave me in the hospital caused an all over rash. Stopped the Roxicet, but am still in pain. Tylenol and advil don't really touch it. The gas is much much better. That was most of the pain. Not the gas they pump into your abdomen (although still have a little of that lingering) but the gas in my bowels. I ended up taking a ton of gas X strips and then took stool softeners and a gentle laxitive. Yesterday FINALLY I was able to pass gas and move the bowels. I know again TMI, but it was such a relief!!! I wasn't able to belch or the other it was just stuck and I felt like I was blowing up like a balloon. It is now day 4 post op and I feel better. As stated I still have some lingering pain. I had a hiatal hernia which I think is the cause of the shoulder pain. Outside of that, I feel great. Ok, off to take a shower. Nicole
  24. First off, this place is great, I've already had so much help from this board the last few days, it's hard to express. This post might be a little "gross/TMI" so I apologize in advance. I was banded on 1/18/11. I've been doing quite well the last few days. I've been sticking quite closely to my doctor's diet. The only things I've consumed is: - Water - flavored water - vitamin-water - poweraide - low-fat hot-chocolate - caffeine-free tea (only the first day or two) - Protein drinks - pudding - chicken broth - cream of wheat I've lost quite a bit of weight already, much more than I had expected (10 pounds in a week) however I figured most of it is water weight. Some days I only get in 30 grams of protein (one drink) but most days I get 60 grams (two drinks). I walk between one to two miles a day, for the last 4 days. I don't think I am getting enough Fluid, maybe 40-50 oz a day (not including protein drink) Ok, on to the gross stuff: My urine has looked fine most of the time, sometimes more dark yellow than others, but nothing to surprise me. My stool is the item I'm concerned about. I had extreme constipation the first two BM, I chalked it up with the barium I had to swallow post-surgery. Today, I had a BM at my normal time a little before lunch. It was much more normal, so I was quite surprised, yet happy. Just a few minutes ago, I had extremely watery diarrhea. It was quite dark in color, and it did have what looked like coffee grounds in it. Earlier today, I did feel a little faint once or twice, but I figured it was low blood sugar (I'm not diabetic, but I hadn't eaten much in the morning). Before the diarrhea, I had felt some of the stomach twisting/gurgling feeling that I feel normally (a.k.a. "pre-band") before diarrhea, but otherwise I have felt fine. I don't have any pain anywhere, with the exception of shoulder pain. I have a tendency to over-react (I have a bit of an anxiety problem) but I'm trying to tell myself I should wait it out and see if it happens again before doing anything. Is that a good idea, or do I really need to take 'evasive' action? I would think something serious would come with lot of pain, which is why I'm hesitant to do anything. Thanks for your thoughts / God Bless!
  25. I haven't tried the vanilla yet (glad to hear it might be worth buying!) but have been using the chocolate ready to drink shakes from costco once a day or every other day since I was on full liquids. I'm having a slight (TMI WARNING) issue with "loose stools" this week though...I'm wondering if these are the culprit. I can't figure out why this is happening now but I think I'm using these more than I did the weeks prior. I've never had this problem before. It's been going on since Friday of last week. I feel totally fine...no stomach aches or anything...isn't that weird? Everything else on my "menu" each day is solid food. I only use the shake for one meal a day. I just don't know what to make of this "issue". I also use the 100% whey powder from costco. It's pretty good, but not near as convenient as the ready-to-drink ones are.
