LOVE all of these!!!! My NSV's are *Went from 5-6 shots a day for diabetes to 1 (ONE!!!!) *From taking 2 orals meds to 1, all for diabetes *Crossing my legs *Bending over to tie my shoes or my son's without getting red in the face or feel like I will pass out *Having my heart rate drop from the 80's to the 60's *NOT feeling like everyone was looking at me thinking how big I was every time I was in public *Buying cuter clothes *Sweating because I want to not because it just occurs naturally from doing not much of anything *Being able to sit like a kid on my couch (ie feet hiked up, knees near my chest kind of thing). Finding at least one picture that I think, 'thats not so bad' instead of any photo of myself making me sick to my stomach That is just a few!!! Can't wait to have many, many more!!!! -

Hi everyone, I had gone through all the posts and clicked on multiquotes and when I went to ad them here, it didn't work and now the multiquotes I selected are all gone.... No problem, I will wing it... I love seeing everyone with a Host below their name, I was offered it and am thinking about it..... Coops it is so frustrating when we have friends or coworkers making comments that are insensitive to our weight loss. A friend of mine would always make a comment in how intuitively her body needs carbs and that her eating habits are what keep her slim. She has totally been gaining weight on her diet plan and is in denial about her weight fluctuating up and down.....Now I think she's totally avoiding me......which hurts too...... GT you have really had a lot of cr** come your way when it comes to your daily stressors, health, and not being able to lose weight. I wonder if eating less than 800 calories is really going to help, especially when it comes to eating healthy for optimal health benefits to keep the MS progression down.....I know your doing Dr Wahl's diet plan and it's really worked for her which s really hopeful. Gosh she went from being debilitated to regaining a lot of her functioning and appears to be doing really well. You are a very determined person and can also accomplish this........I love people with a lot of determination! They impress me so much... OD remember these guys your meeting on-line are perspective partners but the guy that is non-communicative needs to be kicked to the curb.......who needs someone like that! You deserve someone that is going to honor you and treat you like your the best thing that's ever happened to him....you are awesome! It will take quite a few dates before hitting the right one....but he's out there looking for you! M2G thank you for the feedback on my DD and DH and living situation. My DH tries to bring across a boundary and has attempted to talk with my DD but he even saids there's no talking to her. She's very stubborn and has to learn lessons the hard way. As for me, I'm just letting her spin her wheels (cognitively) and come to her senses and then her and I will talk. I will have to talk with my DH about just letting her stay with a contract that she will move out in January. It worries me because she will be moving 14 hours drive away from home and will not have anyone around her to help her except for her BF or Husband and his Mother......She is in a period of her life where she thinks she knows everything but really knows little about what it's like to have to support yourself and survive. This is life and it will be good for them. and for us....hard to launch our children. LOL LV I agree with talking with my DD and her finance (BF) about a contract with my DH. things have calmed down a bit but it has put a damper on our Xmas if I let it. Things will be really different this Xmas. And it's a good thing. So now if I can only get my grazing under control. I went to the store yesterday a few times and each time those stupid Reese's Peanut Butter Cups was calling my name, louder and louder! But I resisted and went home and made some turkey chili that was delicious..... Did a it of walking while pushing my friend in a wheel chair bc I get impatient with the speed that she goes at.....so it totally benefitted my exercise for the day.....at one time her terrier got out the door and I quickly pushed her over and ran after the terrier before he got out of the door and would have been down the street in a flash....This is really the fastest I have moved in a long time. I hate running and was shocked I could move so fast....It helps to have that 80 lbs gone..... Total NSV for me..... To all who are fasting today, I know you can do it, it is well worth it...... -
13 Days Post Op! How Much Can You Eat And Lose ?
terrydumont46 replied to jujusmommy07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
all the answers and advice you were given are right on. i am one of the ones that does not weigh myself at home. only at my surgeons office. i don't want the scale to determine my mood or eating habit for the day. please read the nsv's. non scale victories. they are what you should be basing things on. such as, energy level, fitting in clothes better, being able to move much easier, and doing something positive for yourself is such a high. lapbanders on a whole is not about great fast weight loss, its all about how, what , and how much we are eating. 4lbs to 5lbs a month is what to expect. good luck and keep a positive attitude, you are winning this battle. -
Don't let others judge unless they walk in your shoes. I know I am off all my meds! I took 6 pills a day just to eat food and when I had the band I had my hernia repaired. My blood pressure is perfect, those pills are gone. That part is not being a failure but a NSV. Have you taken measurements and seen those numbers change? I use to wear a size 18-20 plus size jeans and now wear a 14 misses. I don't share with anyone but my husband and this site how much I weighed, how much I weigh now or how many pounds I have lost. Enjoy your weekend and don't let others bother you. You will do fine.

Great NSV!! Best wishes for your hubby too! How's he doing?

Last night i was washing clothes when i got a call that my husband was taken to the emergency room. i looked around and all the clothes that fit half way decent was in the washing machine or dryer. There was a pair of jeans i figured would take a couple of months to get into just hanging in my closet taunting me to try them on. so i did and they fit. i didn't have time to do a happy dance but i did smile. i wore them and they were comfortable. the scale may not be going down much but inches are. so ppl don't get discouraged by your scale. oh my husband is fine. he fainted at work but it wasn't his heart nor did he have a stroke. he will likely have to make the rounds of the specialists to see if they can't find the problem.

Well I had 6 months PCP required by my ins so my process started in March. I took that time to quit some bad eating habits and get in an exercise routine. I was banded a month ago. Having said all that I am now 46lbs lighter. Well here is my Nsv.........I had a goal shirt.....a shirt I really love and pulled it out of the closet and have been walking by it all day not wanting to be discouraged. Well hubby asked me what that shirt was for and insisted I try it one. Well it buttoned and was actually to large in the bust area. Yeah. Feels pretty good. I am trying on some of those clothes that I think are too small -

Go, You have been through so much in the last few years, and this is an AWESOME NSV! The hair fall sometimes comes additionally from all the stress our bodies are under. Losing weight is actually a stress to the body, it's something the body does not naturally want to do. Our bodies were designed to hold onto and store fat for future needs when food was scarce. You would think that today with all the food that's available to us our bodies would change, but if you think about it how many of us though overweight were actually malnourished? We could eat volumes of food and most of it probably junk. I never realized how under nourished I was until I started getting sick. I went through a series of different surgeries as organs were failing and found out how under nourished I was at over 260 pounds! Since being banded, I keep a much better eye on what passes through my lips and I make sure that I get the proper nutrition now and that the food I eat is whole food and loaded with Protein and Vitamins. Go, you are on the road to fabulous! You are a true inspiration to me and my husband both. I'm so glad your feeling great, get yourself 2 pairs of earnings to frame that beautiful smile! -

So....I've been struggling for a number of months with hair loss. Along with taking the Biotin, extra Protein, and Vitamins, I changed up my hairstyle a bit to try to minimize the thin spots. For the first time in a very long time, my hair is really short and unfortunately now thin enough that my ear lobes are quite visible. I finally decided today that I might as well take advantage of this situation and put on a pair of earrings. Usually I don't bother because: A) my hair used to cover my ears...and... 2) after a couple of hours, my ears would hurt and I'd have to take the earrings out. Well...I've had them in all day and they aren't bothering me at all. I swear...my earlobes must have gotten thinner along with the rest of me. I think I may have to Celebrate this nsv and head to the nearest jewelry store this weekend... -
Any Body Else Think Their New Body Is Gross
Beach Lover replied to angry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 53 years old and have lost 76 pounds. I definitely have loose skin all over the place but I can hide it. I can't hide the smile on my face though! I never expected to find my bones again ever but there definitely there and I can feel my butt bone when I am sitting. That puts a smile on my face also! I have noticed that when we lose the scale obviously goes down and when we are stalling or losing a small amount the inches go down. With that said I have also noticed during those slower times my skin tightens up a little more. It's not perfect but it is tightening more than I expected. If I ever get the money together to tighten up what I didn't naturally I will. But until then I will giggle happily for all the nsv's that I have experienced and the ones to come. It's all good so don't worry you are getting healthier with each day that passes! -
I had a fantastic NSV. I have a 15 year old son, and he is at the age where it is just a huge ordeal to hug his mom. Anyway, the other day I "made" him hug me, and he stood back and said that he has never been able to put his arms around me and hug me that close. He said.....your smaller than me now mom! So happy!!!!

Then I was shocked and we all got a good laugh a my shock. When I got home I showed my family how I can cross my legs! They looked at me like I am completely crazy, but were happy I was happy lol
