Well I had 6 months PCP required by my ins so my process started in March. I took that time to quit some bad eating habits and get in an exercise routine. I was banded a month ago. Having said all that I am now 46lbs lighter. Well here is my Nsv.........I had a goal shirt.....a shirt I really love and pulled it out of the closet and have been walking by it all day not wanting to be discouraged. Well hubby asked me what that shirt was for and insisted I try it one. Well it buttoned and was actually to large in the bust area. Yeah. Feels pretty good. I am trying on some of those clothes that I think are too small -

Go, You have been through so much in the last few years, and this is an AWESOME NSV! The hair fall sometimes comes additionally from all the stress our bodies are under. Losing weight is actually a stress to the body, it's something the body does not naturally want to do. Our bodies were designed to hold onto and store fat for future needs when food was scarce. You would think that today with all the food that's available to us our bodies would change, but if you think about it how many of us though overweight were actually malnourished? We could eat volumes of food and most of it probably junk. I never realized how under nourished I was until I started getting sick. I went through a series of different surgeries as organs were failing and found out how under nourished I was at over 260 pounds! Since being banded, I keep a much better eye on what passes through my lips and I make sure that I get the proper nutrition now and that the food I eat is whole food and loaded with Protein and Vitamins. Go, you are on the road to fabulous! You are a true inspiration to me and my husband both. I'm so glad your feeling great, get yourself 2 pairs of earnings to frame that beautiful smile! -

So....I've been struggling for a number of months with hair loss. Along with taking the Biotin, extra Protein, and Vitamins, I changed up my hairstyle a bit to try to minimize the thin spots. For the first time in a very long time, my hair is really short and unfortunately now thin enough that my ear lobes are quite visible. I finally decided today that I might as well take advantage of this situation and put on a pair of earrings. Usually I don't bother because: A) my hair used to cover my ears...and... 2) after a couple of hours, my ears would hurt and I'd have to take the earrings out. Well...I've had them in all day and they aren't bothering me at all. I swear...my earlobes must have gotten thinner along with the rest of me. I think I may have to Celebrate this nsv and head to the nearest jewelry store this weekend... -
Any Body Else Think Their New Body Is Gross

I am 53 years old and have lost 76 pounds. I definitely have loose skin all over the place but I can hide it. I can't hide the smile on my face though! I never expected to find my bones again ever but there definitely there and I can feel my butt bone when I am sitting. That puts a smile on my face also! I have noticed that when we lose the scale obviously goes down and when we are stalling or losing a small amount the inches go down. With that said I have also noticed during those slower times my skin tightens up a little more. It's not perfect but it is tightening more than I expected. If I ever get the money together to tighten up what I didn't naturally I will. But until then I will giggle happily for all the nsv's that I have experienced and the ones to come. It's all good so don't worry you are getting healthier with each day that passes! -
I had a fantastic NSV. I have a 15 year old son, and he is at the age where it is just a huge ordeal to hug his mom. Anyway, the other day I "made" him hug me, and he stood back and said that he has never been able to put his arms around me and hug me that close. He said.....your smaller than me now mom! So happy!!!!

Ok. . So I sat down in a big comfy chair at work today and crossed my legs as if I just do it all the time. I didn't even realize it at first. Then I was shocked and we all got a good laugh a my shock. When I got home I showed my family how I can cross my legs! They looked at me like I am completely crazy, but were happy I was happy lol

Day three, 6 miles so far right on track, wish I could do more... Soon very soon... Nsv today, walked into a gyro place that we had been to before, the kid working behind the counter, after I ordered my meat without bread, says you are looking so skinny, what are you doing? Are you trying to lose cause you look great! Yay!

LOL I so get this!! A definite NSV!

Im the same way, I still will choose sizes that are too big because there is no way I fit into size 8 pants or a medium (sometimes a small) top. Its unreal. Its ok though because its like a new NSV every time I actually do fit into the tiny clothes
-
Yesterday I went to pick out some scrubs for school. I picked up an XL shirt and pants. I asked the clerk if I could try them on and she laughs at me saying no way will those fit me. She grabs mediums and hands them to me. I give her the look of death wanting to punch her right in the face! I take them, fearing the humiliation I've dealt with my entire life of something not fitting. They fit! I now want to make out with her right then and there! I obviously still see myself as obese and it stinks that I don't see myself the way others do! Hopefully one day....

This might be a weird NSV, but I still consider it one. I broke out in hives, (haha the hives aren't the NSV) and had to go to the doctors. While there, they wanted me to put a gown on. As the nurse said this, I dreaded it. Those paper gowns rip and don't fit. I'm complied, and to my surprise it fit!! It's been years! I can't even remember when one of those stupid things actually fit me. Even though, I was miserable with the Hives, it made my day. And sadly, the doctors still don't know what is causing this nasty hive thing. But I'm managing. I will get through this. -
Bronco Terrific!!!! It is those "small" (no such thing) NSV's that make you feel wonderful 51 lbs down and counting........ keep up the good work .... for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy congrats

Hooray for you! For some reason, getting a bath towel around me is going to be a HUGE NSV. I can't wait!

Well I think this might be a NSV that's how I think of it , my Aunt was out for the last two weeks visiting and she commented how good I moved and looked and my Uncle said my attitude had changed then they both asked if I was exercising cause my stomache didn't look as out as it did two yrs, ago and I told them no I just walk and bend over a lot at work , they seemed to be proud of my changed way of banded life, as they both have to watch their weight do to medical reasons. -

Just When You Thought Everything Was Cool...
moofish posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm almost a year and a half out from surgery and I've almost reached goal weight- have completely changed my lifestyle, and I'm pretty proud of my progress. I went from a size 22 pair of jeans to a size 8 (I'm 5'9"). I walk close to 4 mi./day. People that I knew from before will walk right past me in the grocery store without recognizing me. Talk about a NSV... Then, a couple of weeks ago, I fell and broke my jaw! Ugh! It was competely wired shut for 2 weeks. Hello liquid diet again! Fortunately I had previous experience with that, so I knew to make home made chicken and beef stock, Protein drinks, and I ordered powdered supplements from Celebrate. I knew that RNY peeps are not really supposed to use straws, but, what choice did I have? I lost an 10 additional pounds, which I didn't really need to lose... Now, they have replaced some of the wires with rubber bands, so I can barely bit a baby spoon between my jaws. So, on to the puree stage! Can anyone say deja vu? Again, I knew just what to make/buy for this stage of my recovery. Next week, I move on to mushies. Needless to say, I can't wait until the final stage of this, but it will be a while before I eat anything crispy or chewy again. Then I will buy a 3 oz. portion of filet mignon, season it, sear it in a pan, and rip it apart with my fingers and teeth (I adore meat lol). So, I had a little set back but, ironically enough, my RNY experience has helped me to successfully and HEALTHFULLY navigate this episode.
